201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reality of Crypto Winter and what to expect from now on on: January 16, 2020, 09:28:36 PM
One potentially bullish event coming up that could make 2020 a great year for cryptocurrencies would be the upcoming halving that is scheduled to happen in a bit over 100 days from the day that this post is made, though strong rises in price have historically happened after the halving occurs and not much has happened near halvings, though I don't expect history will fully repeat itself this time around. Even strong trends like the bearish one we've been in for a few months do eventually end, and I think we're just about near the tail end of that trend as sellers seem to have started to exhaust themselves.
202  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHICH CRYPTO MOBILE APPS DO YOU USE? on: January 16, 2020, 09:22:27 PM
I don't have many apps on my phone partially because of my phone's low storage capacity and also because I use relatively simple charts and tools for trading. I trade on Bybit and Bitmex pretty often, and only Bybit has an app on the Google Play store at the moment (click for link) which I use to adjust trades when I see a large change in price using the alerts I have set with the Bitcoin Ticker Widget app (click for link). I did pay for premium upgrades on the latter app, but it's still perfectly usable for free as well.

I also use Bitcoinwisdom.io while I'm on the go for a glance at prices on a few time frames like the 4H, 1D and greater. Not nearly as usable on an Android Chrome browser compared to being on a desktop, but the site still loads fine and it's perfect for my purposes.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin you love to see die soon and why? on: January 16, 2020, 09:02:14 PM
There's really not any that coins or tokens that I'd like to see die or probably any that I'd like to see die except for projects that are obvious scams or ponzi schemes; the market and the crypto community as a whole decides whether or not something lives, and this sort of filter keeps crappy projects from growing except sometimes during periods like 2016-2017 where crypto mania was in effect. I also agree that the death of a larger token or coin might make investors less likely to invest into cryptocurrencies in general and not just one or two coins or tokens.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Ethereum reach the 1400$ mark this year? on: January 16, 2020, 08:39:27 PM
I could see a small possibility of that happening with crypto markets being as volatile as they are, though this year's certainly starting off with a somewhat bad note after Bitcoin's fall into the $7000s and altcoins mostly following behind similar to Bitcoin's price action. It does also seem like the strongly bearish trend most cryptocurrencies have been in might be in the process of reversing at the moment.

There's also way more factors that play into crypto prices rising than simply adoption, not to mention that it's basically impossible to predict this far out if something's going to hit X dollars in the future.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: token supply on: January 16, 2020, 01:25:50 AM
Having an extremely high supply might also be something that certain tokens and coins use to inflate their market caps and thus gain a higher ranking on sites like CoinGecko and Coinmarketcap, which is unfortunate but seems true based on recent trends. I'm not a fan of any cryptocurrencies with massive supply for any reason, though, and I tend to stay away from such projects even if they promise to burn a large percentage of those coins or tokens in the future. Just seems very unpractical to me.
206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK gamblers cannot use Credit Cards for gambling from April 14, 2020 on: January 16, 2020, 01:21:05 AM
I love the convenience that a credit card offers (I use one every day like most people here likely do), but I also do find this to be fair as a credit card involves a whole lot of power that people can very easily misuse, especially in activities like gambling where it's entirely possible that you could end up spending money and getting nothing back, unlike perhaps with other physical goods that could potentially be resold for at least a fraction of the money spent initially.

This might also be another event that makes people look at cryptocurrencies as an alternative for gambling with relatively fast deposit times. That's always a great thing in my eyes, and some of those people might also end up using cryptocurrencies even outside of gambling too.
207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Satoshi mines Gambling on: January 16, 2020, 01:17:41 AM

next time use a translator if you don't know how to English so that other people can understand what you are trying to post.

It seems you didn't read the last update of the thread owner his problem is already fixed.

If you have a problem with them much better to make your own thread directly in scam accusation.
Your suggestion to report them to the FBI won't help much because the satoshi mines are not locally registered.

It's also likely not worth your time considering the FBI probably won't even take any action towards getting your funds back, so the best thing you could possibly take away from this is to keep funds off of third party services whenever possible and only deposit what you need to gamble. I trusted Satoshimines for a period of time as well and I couldn't have predicted this, but preparing for something like this in the future will certainly help.

Same goes for exchanges or anywhere that a service is holding your funds. Not your keys, not your wallet.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I feared new altcoins might be left out on: January 15, 2020, 05:44:29 PM
I'd expect that altcoin ratios against Bitcoin will also rise in the event of another major bull run like with what happened in 2016-2017, but converting your holdings to Bitcoin is certainly valid, though one comment I would make is that you might want to spread out your holdings into other major altcoins as they're also prone to rise along with Bitcoin if anything happens. If your goal's just to make more money, you'll see a rise either way in USD or whatever fiat currency you're measuring your gains in even if alts don't significantly surge against BTC and Bitcoin rises.
209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we overcome our gambling addiction! on: January 15, 2020, 05:41:45 PM
I've never been particularly addicted to gambling, but even though I do agree to some extent that doing other things might be more difficult for some than others, finding new hobbies and ways to earn money in my free time was what helped me start gambling less and made me a much more productive person today. If you find something you truly enjoy and are passionate about, it can be easy to become absorbed into this activity and might help you overcome your gambling addiction.

Finding professional help is also always an option if you recognize that you have a gambling addiction but you don't quite know what to do. This can be much more effective than anything else suggested here.
210  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to read trading charts? on: January 15, 2020, 05:37:15 PM
There's a ton of different ways you can interpret charts based on a few fundamental things or the indicators you're primarily using to make decisions; a very popular way of reading charts is to identify support and resistance levels and where and when they might potentially be breached (or not), which is something I like to do as well because it's a relatively simple concept to start with and you can expand from this in several different ways.

Some people also get very in-depth into candlestick patterns, though I mainly pay attention to the few major ones like hammers and evening stars or morning stars that I can spot at a glance and not less obscure patterns.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best eSports Betting Sites on: January 14, 2020, 10:47:51 PM
Right now it is not that hard to look for betting sites that accept crypto with odds on eSports matches such as PUBG, DOTA II, CS:GO, etc. You don't even have to go to strictly eSports betting sites because the majority of the big names such as Sportsbet, Nitrogen Sports, etc are already offering them.
Even before there wasn't any difficulty in looking for a bitcoin sportsbook that have esports. From my experience most of them are still far from the best since they don't have several markets and sometimes missing few games on their list when compared to betting exchanges.

The biggest problem I have with some of the bigger names offering esports matches is the lack of volume for some of the matches; you just don't get much volume especially on the smaller matches where lesser-known teams are playing, which is somewhat expected, but it's sometimes just much too low for my tastes.

A lot of the more esports-oriented betting sites also offer more resources like livestreams for the matches you're betting on which is helpful for matches where it might not be easy to find streams covering the game you're looking for, whereas the last time I visited NitrogenSports for esports betting I don't recall there was much besides just the match page.
212  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is BestChange safe? (Not an accusation) on: January 14, 2020, 10:42:08 PM

They want to do everything themselves  Cheesy Even spend a large amount of money to both advertise their campaign and learn how to go on their own. But I think they won't change the payout rate, I don't know any campaigns that change the payout rate right after the first week, because they have extra budget to spend on 15 people per rank.

Doesn't seem too bad from a glance for an organization that's hosting its first-ever signature campaign around here with the terms and conditions of each category being relatively standard, though I'm sure the campaign manager and organization are open to suggestions to improve as any sort of service should for an initial test run. The lack of escrow is somewhat concerning to me as well, but considering the site itself is at least known and seemingly reputable from what people have posted here, it's not the biggest deal.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth making cryptocurrency as an innovative source for extravagance brand on: January 14, 2020, 10:37:19 PM
Seems way too niche and as others have said, too specific to really be successful to me. Crypto payments on non-luxury sites for physical goods don't seem to be very popular at the moment and most sites don't support crypto payments as a result, and the luxury goods market is smaller which doesn't help at all, and people also like the buyer protection and greater ease of payment offered with payments through credit cards at the moment too.
214  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When trading, never ignore the statoshi value of your coins on: January 14, 2020, 10:30:29 PM
I always aim to earn more in Bitcoin than I do with any fiat currency, especially with USD and when I'm trading altcoins, because I've always believed in cryptocurrency more than any fiat system out there. I also like to plan for the longer term with Bitcoin as I expect it'll go up in the future, and trading's one way that I'm actively expanding my stash of cryptocurrencies at the moment.

It really depends what you're going after in the end and thus your personal preferences. I know plenty of people actively trading primarily for USD gains too, and they're doing just fine at the moment.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bitbox to delist Ripple on: January 14, 2020, 10:22:06 PM
Interesting. I don't have much insight into why Ripple was delisted exactly, but it could possibly be something like regulatory issues that caused the exchange to delist the coin, though I also agree with everyone else here that this one exchange likely generated a very, very small amount of total trading volume for XRP and it's not a significant loss for the XRP community as a whole. Coingecko (click for link) also shows that the exchange itself seemingly wasn't affected in any extreme way looking at volume by this change just yet.
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is the main purpose in gambling, always to make more money? on: January 14, 2020, 01:23:38 AM

What you have said is true, I haven't seen an established casino shutdown themselves because they are bankrupt but instead of that, they are expanding and adding more features that's going to get more players. But you shouldn't forget too that we humans created gambling and that is to find for something that can be enjoyable and get incentive while getting involved to that activity. The given example aren't really the deflection of what gambling is but it's the reason why most gamblers are in it.

Funny you mention that you haven't seen any established casinos shut down from bankruptcy because I believe that Donald Trump's Atlantic City, NJ casino went bankrupt partially as a result of bad management and the poor environment for casinos there in the first place, but it's certainly true that the vast majority of casinos are very profitable. I do agree with your statement overall that gambling's designed to fool people into thinking they can legitimately earn money through playing and it doesn't have to be that way, though.

There's even plenty of limits in place especially on many online crypto-based casinos such as a maximum win amount on some games so the bankroll doesn't take too big of a hit in the rare chance that a whale hits big, too. The house absolutely does win almost all of the time.
217  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to buy Bitcoin anonymously in US on: January 14, 2020, 01:17:43 AM
Another way I know of to acquire OneVanilla prepaid cards (Visa or MasterCard usually) is to buy them at places like Walmart or perhaps even convenience stores or gas stations where they're offered, and I'm not entirely sure how that process goes because I've never bought prepaid cards in the first place. The exchange rate with those cards is usually subpar anyways, though, and you're likely better off with the other methods suggested here.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The DEX exchange you can rely on on: January 14, 2020, 01:10:45 AM
Etherdelta and Forkdelta are also two other options you can try if you're primarily focusing on trading tokens. They're both pretty barebones in terms of features compared to the many other decentralized exchanges that have already been listed here, and volume's not the greatest on either site, but they're both reliable sites.

I've used both the Waves DEX and Bisq in the past, though it does seem like the Waves DEX has shifted into an exchange after being renamed simply the Waves Exchange with both decentralized and centralized features, which I suppose is both good and bad depending on your viewpoint. I'd still suggest you try it and the other DEXes I've listed here so you can find which one fits you best.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the altcoin market being manipulated in 2020? on: January 14, 2020, 01:04:55 AM
Depends to what degree you're talking about manipulation; if you're talking about blatant manipulation like pump-and-dump schemes that are mostly present in lower-cap coins, I'm sure they're still going on every single day though I don't personally keep track of smaller cap coins much.

The trading of ERC20 tokens is safe as long as you've determined that the projects are reputable in the first place. Even though we're largely past the time of massive ICOs and IEOs that sometimes catastrophically failed, there's still many low-quality projects built simply to earn the developers and owners money out there, and there likely will be for a very, very long time.
220  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop Loss, A life saver or a evil? on: January 14, 2020, 12:56:59 AM
It depends how you use stop losses and what sort of analysis leads you to place stops at a certain place. I usually use market stoplosses while trading on leverage on sites like Bitmex, and they're definitely a lifesaver in those instances when things can move extremely rapidly in one direction and limiting losses is extremely important as a result. They can certainly be bad if you're constantly getting stopped out by bad stoploss placement (placing stops in extremely obvious places like near local highs and lows, etc), but they're generally a very good thing in my eyes. Just depends how you're using it in the end.
