According to mom, I got severe food poisoning when I was a small kid, and then refused to eat typical food. The point is-maybe give him several learning options...who knows, maybe he is a football player or a poet? My god, no  There is that app called FamilyLink, i'd recognize it if he'd be using that calculator app on his phone. He would fail at the basics, constructing correct input values. I refuse so much to think as an "Idiot" about him, this is how kids were seen when i was that young. I would be glad to find the key to his door that blocks him from using his brain efficiently, while i can not name anything he has like "talent". He is quite a daydreamer, he's reading all the time, but he is not a good writer at all. Sometimes i think about the possibility that he subconsciously doesn't want to become adult, for whatever reason. Once he said to me that he doesn't want to become a teenager and that he will hate puberty. We're not the kind of parents that try to break him, just to make him obey to the (mostly stupid) rules of this particular society. We were both raised that way and because of this we broke out of it, so fuck that. The main concern is that we will have to see him struggling with the school/work/life system for years to come, before he will hopefully develop his yet undiscovered strength(s). Did you ever think maybe you are the problem? You sure don't have a high opinion of him, he will know this and it will lower his self esteem. Give him some practical stuff to do. Ride his bike, take him shooting, fishing. Help out with a home improvement project, let him use real tools. Let him help service your vehicle, or even drive it if he is big enough, cook the family meal. Buy him a fun electronic kit that requires the use of a soldering iron. Most of all show the boy some respect. Yes, i am indeed self-reflected in that kind that i questioned if i am the problem, not only once. I love him, the same like my other children, they are all special and i am able to help them with support, attention, sharing time and respect them all. I don't even compare them, because they are too different that it would make any sense. I actually take him to fishing, we let him make pancakes for all of us, at least every two weeks, he has his own set of carving knife. We didn't do things to lower his self esteem, for sure. H isn't really interested in practical things. He's a dreamer, and that's also nothing i/we don't value. Me and my wife are educated when it comes to children and how they see and interact with their environment. She is actually a therapist, working with young adults, but she knows what's going on in a kids life, has worked with kids and teenagers before. I hated school as a kid. I didn't do much homework, but i knew my stuff and that was enough to pass. That's why i don't think he's only a good child when he is good at school. But he's doing very hard. Some day he came home crying, with his first F on a maths exam. We didn't make a fuzz about it. We never did. We're not that kind of persons. We don't blame him, we just try, try, try. He's a cool, friendly, funny dude, who likes to laugh a lot, like everyone in our family. Laughing and fun was always important to us, we're not serious if we don't really need to. But i will watch closely if i/we are disrespectful to him, in any way. At the time i'd be not aware of anything like that, we also don't try to force him to "be some way". It could be attention seeking behaviour. You are rewarding him by spending time with him teaching him when he acts dumb. So he acts dumb to get your time & attention.
Spend time with him, but not trying to teach him stufff all the time. Make him work it out himself and remeber not everyone 'gets' maths. If he's reading a lot like you say then he will be fine.
We spend time just having fun more often than not. He seems just not to "get" maths, indeed. It's not so much a problem for me, but he's got a very old fashioned grumpy maths teacher. She has got a son herself, who is also a "dreamer", and she doesn't get along well with him (my son told me). I guess she might be additionally triggered by this kind of personality, but i don't think she's self conscious enough to grasp it. I heard from other parents that she tends to choose one or two pupils to pick on. Maybe some of his low self esteem is based on her interactions with him at school. I will take a closer look at this, from now on. |

I'm sure you, from all of the people, know that there's no perfect solution, and everything comes with its own tradeoffs and caveats. A tax free heaven that looks perfect on paper, can be a real shithole due to a ton of other problems. Does it really matter if you don't have to pay any income taxes, but now you have to "grease the wheels" of everyone who has a bigger gun then you do? And are a bunch of people putting a claim on all of the resources of the country is not just another form of taxation?
I voluntarily pay my Bitcoin private fees to use their service. I do not expect ETH users to pay Bitcoin fees to use their service. It's....voluntary....aint that great? I like to say it is just Vitalik's pet project when he was still in college. It has all the hallmarks to fail. High fees when the usage is too much for it to handle on their network. It is near it's final leg as you know this when one of the developers who was one of the first to work on ethereum retires from the project just last week. Anyways, in the news it is Elon and his prancing around as if he was pro bitcoin while his company dumped it upon investors request. He does not have diamond hands. Elon didn't sell his private holdings. Tesla sold a bit to provide liquidity figures for the quarterly financial report, afaik. So just goes to show you not to EVER TRUST corporations when it comes to your crypto. They only look after their bottom line and once it dumps back to under $20k they will run back to their masters of the game... Fiat and Gold!  I don't put that into question, though... And still the "dump BTC for ETH or XRP" pump trade continues. Gosh do they want people in anything *but* Bitcoin so badly... I wonder why? Smells like 2017 all over again... Pity for the n00bs and more pity for those who already been in the situation and made gaines, though those people before (also some of my friends) "made gaines" but also choked themselves in the altcoin-koolaid and never took the BTC profits always thinking it will go higher it will sustain etc... So the profit they should have taken turned around in what altcoins true meaning is designed for "Not for making BTC, but its to take away peoples BTC" Few understand this. But also friends of me right now... have rallied MAXIMUM profits with like ADA for example, it rallies so good that they now think its a good coin while its a shitcoin which is becoming more and more a bigger shitcoin over time and just rallies on the hype etc ... Some have to burn themselves more as one time I guess ... The sign of the times is that people get excited by the new shiny things..in 2017 it was eth and xerp, now a-coin, d-coin, u-coin, l-coin. For some, the gains are spectacular (currently). However, we know how it all ends-in a vast under-performance vs btc when the bear market ensues. All in all, they are oscillators (have been so far). A-coin that you mentioned was the biggest oscillator of them all-lost 98-99% in 2018-2019. IMHO, it will lose 90% at some point again, the question is-from where? I never sell btc for any alt, but dabble using fiat. Not buying now. The difficult art to master is when to sell. It's easier with bitcoin-I never sell any more, just buy+accumulate otherwise. Worst I have been hearing lately was when some friends still holding XRP, sold there shitcoin when the lawsuit was there, I said to surely sell, lot of them did .... Later on they told me why did we sell we said it was gonna pump etc LoL, they still like the XRP performance while its still half in FIAT terms from ATH and I don't know how ad against BTC, ofcourse they only watch against USD but really LoL.... They really think its performing good and they just wanna believe its a good coin cause its cheap in FIAT terms, only around a buck ... pfff n00bs, n00bs everywhere See? Good day So i see BTC at $55k, out of shallow waters, where the bears satisfy their thirst. I'd like to see the price a lil higher today, above $55.5k, just to make sure we left the dump behind. Indeed, i wasn't precise, had my orderbook grouping at $250, but we dipped into $47k-ish and instantly went up to $47.250. But the next move up after that was about clear, SOMA. Hope it will keep that momentum. |
