Without the irony: I made it through the first 24 hours without painkillers, but i had to catch some sleep, so i took half of an adult's dose of ibuprofen through the day. I was sleeping most all of the second day, she was taking care of all the kids perfectly, so she deserves some time off, even if she gets through her infection better than me.
I doubt that, because i did take some effective measures against virus replication, while she was inhaling that contaminated aerosols all day at home. I might just have cought only some while i was out, which should have given me some additional advantage in desease development.
Let's just hope the best. She's a way better cook than me, too 

Compared to many infections i had in the past (and i'm way more close to 50 than 40 already), Omicron seems to be a "refreshment walk"-type of infection (if you know that german saying). My immune system took two major hits in my life before, so i'm far from "out of risk group" status.
Basically, it feels wrong to me that because our economy is so fragile (on purpose), that we all should be lab rats for the pharma and politics just to make it work a little longer. Fuck them all, really. Everybody and his dog saying lately "i got Omicron, but i was so glad i was vaxxed, so it was mild", i can reply with "I got Omicron, i was so glad i didnt't get vaxxed, so it was even milder"...
I can understand that most of the world took safety measures against Alpha, Gamma, Delta and Wildtype variants, as i did, but there is no more fucking reason to continue. This is about to become a flu like all the corona-type of viruses before SARS-CoV-2. Unless for those influenced by fear.

Hats off to all the unvaxxed infected by older Covid variants, regardless of the outcome, regardless if unvaxxed by choice or not.

EDIT: Just got texted by the health authorities, Covid19 PCR test came out positive (surprise), so i have to stay in quarantine for eight more days. I have to check if i can take another PCR test five days after the first, to end the quarantine earlier if "not contagious" (test rating above 30). Afaik this is only for vaccinated folks, maybe they changed their mind, like they did every other week or two 

I found a little twitter gem, reading a local newspaper's online forum on my smartphone today, unfortunately in german.
The tests by pfizer Moderna and their omicron-adjusted vaccine resulted in a finding, that they produce less the same amount of sterilizing antibodies to Omicron than the current mRNA vaccine.
This effect was described by the immune system preferably producing more antibodies against known virus genotypes when presented with virus genes which are mutations of those.
Sorry for my poor translation, but i think the original results and conclusions of this study will be referenced here by someone else pretty soon.

For me, it's a good background for an explanation why mRNA vaccinated and boostered take longer to recover from Omicron and suffer worse symptoms, as lately discovered widely.
If that will be backed by science, mRNA vaxx will be worth less than dogshit in terms of future-proof, vaccination mandate compatible, adjustable immunization.
All those mRNA science fiction dreams of Big Pharma are on the verge of breaking badly (pun intended).

The effect is called "antigenic sin", which sounds quite pathetic to me, but yeah... it's only my personal impression.

Quick HELLO from quarantine, brothers.

First two days were full of headache and sore throat, but it's getting progressively better since noon. I even tried to do a haiku yesterday, couldn't make it because of brainfog.
However, was PCR tested today, so quarantine will last 9 days from now, regardless how good i feel and non-contagious i got, but this is life in a country led by retards.
The next breakdown of our (third) coalition government, followed by another reelection, is already gleaming on the political horizon.

Really enjoying the price actions of the last few days, but SOMA it looks a little less volatile and thus "controlled" to me.

Antigen test before going to sleep turned out to be positive.
This time i took the test when my nose was running, as it did before a few times today. Additionally i harrumphed a few times and spit in a glass, put the nasal swab into that for a short moment, then went on with the analysis of the sample: Two euqally dense red lines after about half a minute.
So that's it. My ticket out of vaccination mandate for half a year after being tested negative again.

Will delay my scheduled photoshoots, however  

Most people i know had three days of mild sickness.

EDIT: I had mild headache  over the day and now too, little coughy in the beginning, now scratchy throat and running on half power.
Had two Antigen tests, both negative. Checked all tests for sensitivity to Omicron, the PEI lab lists all four that we got between 20% and 50%  
Son (contact person) has same symptoms but a little milder, negative AG test.
Today he told me, with Omicron, every pupil of his classroom that was PCR tested postive (once a week) was tested negative on AG rapids every day.
Looks like a plot for a imaginary book "How to (not) stop a pandemic"  

My wife does PCR three times a week, so if she gets tested positive after the next two rounds she will spit it for me if my PCR returns negative (above a threshold of 30). I'm curious. Next chance is the kindergarten nanny of our youngest one, she reported her positive PCR test today to all the parents.

I finally also got some good chances to catch Omicron!
The school seatmate of one of my children got tested positive yesterday (PCR result came in today).
They also were rehearsing a little stage play, where my son is playing a hunter and his seatmate is playing a bear, and she has to roar at him (without a mask, close distance).
I'm curious, just waiting it out, antigen-testing my son every second day and let him use the carrageenan nasal spray as a precaution.
At least the classroom is closed and all the pupils will be in distance learning next week, which is the usual procedure when two pupils are PCR-tested postive within three days in the same classroom.
In the best (worst) case we have a positive child at home, his siblings going to school regularly. Happy spreadfest

Where i live, the 2020 (and 2021) death rate was reported higher because people didn't go to the hospital or doctor because they where overrun (the hospitals) or the people were in fear. "I'll go let it check by the doc at some later time.." This led to undiscovered or late discovered health problems like cancer, heart conditions or preconditions, which were not addressed at all or got discovered too late. Addtionally, there were less free ICU's (and those were prioritized for Covid patients), operations were cancelled or delayed, mostly transplantations.
A combination that led to many deaths, which could have been avoided or delayed, leading to some kind of "Secondary Triage".

Yes, that seems to be the case in the US, which i was not referring too, but Germany, as mine was a reply to UnDerDog's post referencing german protests.
BUT: Not here, in my country. The original neonazi scene is joining peaceful protesters, as well as radical right groups from Germany, Poland and so on. These are the ones that make MSM being able to shift focus from anti-mandate to pro-nazi on the news.
You always get a lot of these badasses to join if you protest against something, whereas if you protest FOR something, they feel their energy is better suited to "against" protests, and if they don't find one, they organise their own. Then the negative attention is directed only at their group-exclusive, small protests on the sidelines.
The US and forging/staging plots incorporated and carried out by the national terrorist organisations (mainly CIA) is a different story, another magnitude higher.
I think we don't have to point out that people no more consume the MSM, but the MSM consumes the people. This only works on a stupid space rock, btw.

The problem, very similar around where i live, is that they mix up too much. There is a demonstration against the vaccine mandate, but anti-vaxxers, action refusers, mask refusers, covid-deniers, conspiracy theorists, human rights organisations among others, BUT also known rightists and their affilated organisations (shouting for freedom).
So the media and politics can perfectly use the presence of the latter to condemn the whole demonstration and reframe its theme to something that makes all others also look bad.
All of the sudden everybody walking in a group of people demonstrating against vaccine mandates is a nazi.
The "mode of war" has to change drastically, or its all lost.
It would also be better not to march against something but for the opposite of something.

"FOR freedom of choice of vaccination" vs. "AGAINST vaccine mandates".
In successful communication, you always bring an alternative to the table and don't really care about the position of your opponent(s).
This is a complete miss in all those anger-based demonstrations.
