2001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SBF, arrested! on: December 21, 2022, 12:48:28 AM
Recently, the SBF is said to have agreed to accept extradition to the US after many refusals by the Bahamas government.
well it was give up the extradition fight. or stay in bahama jail till february to then get the chance to fight it. which could be a 4 year court case, just on extradition battle.. so i think he's preferring a US jail and just get it over with.. maybe the US jail has vegan options

Hehe yes. Also, being in a very warm climate, the high humidity and a jail cell full of Bahamians sweating beside him while he sleeps will certainly not be very comfortable.

In any case, this might also be part of their plan. Sam has hired one of the best lawyers to represent him, Mark Cohen. He prosecuted El Chapo and presently also the lawyer of Ghislaine Maxwell, the partner of Jeffrey Epstein in his sex trafficking business.
2002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 20, 2022, 05:37:20 AM
It looks like Butler doesn't want to be left behind, after the beatings he received from Inoue, it looks like Butler is asking for more.  I watched some clips on youtube[1] and it stated Butler planned to leave his weight division and possibly will go up in weight division.  So Butler planned to mix it up again against Inoue, and Casimero if ever he goes up in weight division.

While Casimero after his fight against Akaho is now ranked 3rd by boxingrec.com. So it is possible to have a title fight for Casimero soon.

Very difficult in the case of Butler and any fighter at 118-122 lbs. At 118 lbs, there could still be Donaire and other Filipinos too in contention for a world belt. But if he chooses to go up, then his old nemesis in Casimero and Inoue is waiting as well.

So he is in on man's land, but I guess if his body can't make the 118 lbs like Inoue, he has no option but to move up, fight contenders and see if he will have a chance to fight for a world title belt again.

My prediction for Inoue for the year 2023. He will wait for Stephen Fulton to unite all of the championships in super bantamweight before Inoue will challenge Fulton, however, if he does not do this, Inoue will do it for him hehehe. Inoue will challenge Akhmadaliev first and win the IBF and WBA championships then challenge Stephen Fulton for the WBC and WBO champioships. He will leave bantamweight because there is nothing more to prove and there is nothing more to earn. Bigger challenge and bigger money is on Inoue vs. Fulton.

Are you ready boxing fans?
2003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: December 20, 2022, 04:20:26 AM
so I believe he should be well nominated and who knows, maybe even take the statuette in 2023, we'll see!

I'm also betting big on Colin Farrell's feature film, he received the longest applause of the event so far: there were 13 uninterrupted minutes of applause, if I were there my hands would be red Tongue

Changing gender a bit, I also believe that Cate Blanchett is the main bet for the 2023 Oscar.
Fraser is popular man of the moment, just a nomination would be a big come back from the abyss and a nomination is a kind of win; they advertise nominations during film promotions so its a win for both company and actor really.   However I dont actually believe he will win, I remain unconvinced so far but we got time to decide yet.

Of the three I'd expect Cate Blanchett is with the best chance I've been a fan for 25 years or so shes done the legwork for sure & I need to watch Farrell's film.

Brendan Fraser might presently be the most popular choice for best actor, however, after the Golden Globe awards and Screen Actors Guild awards this might change. This is where you should be fast on moving before the odds have changed hehe.

According to this news, Everything, Everywhere All at Once has dethroned the Fablemans as favorite for the best movie. But did sportsbooks change their odds quickly? You will find 4.20 if you know were to go hehehehhe.

This is one universe “Everything Everywhere All at Once” definitely wants to stay in. The genre-bending dramedy has dethroned “The Fabelmans” to take over the top spot in the Best Picture Oscar odds.

2004  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Speculated] Barry Silbert dump on: December 20, 2022, 03:51:02 AM
If he dumped bitcoin, we can buy it on cheaper price.
If he doesn't dump bitcoin, we just need to wait and see.
Whats the problem on here?
Just to create FUD and Panic, we can always buy Bitcoin and yes this is the good opportunity to accumulate. Dumping their Bitcoin doesn’t mean Bitcoin is not good anymore, its just the current trend and I’m pretty sure they will but back once we hit the bottom, its more on a price manipulation for me.
Maybe it is because it is said that there are no legit sources that tells he really did it and I don't think the goal of the op here is to spread this FUD as well, but he was only curious and wants a helping hand to confirm things out. This is informative for those who are not updated on the crypto happenings. I mean this can be their guide to know the truth and won't be mislead by the FUD's happening outside. In case this, was true then there is nothing wrong with it.

Each of us invests on BTC for the reason that we need a profit and they sell because they in need of cash right now. This shouldn't give us a negative thought thinking BTC is turning bad, now that BTC pioneers are selling it.

Much of the people in the community would call speculations or news a type of fud if it is bad news and call the bringer of the news as an antagonizer. They will choose to put their heads under the sand and refuse to accept reality.

I will tell you what is not fud. It has been 1 month already since Gemini earn has stopped withdrawals and Gemini's lending partner Genesis Global, owned by Barry Silbert, owes users more than $500 million.

In any case, instead of accusing anyone of spreading fud, read and share some news.
2005  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-12-16] Germany calls for global regulation of the cryptospace on: December 20, 2022, 02:22:48 AM
This is a bait and switch.  They claim to want to regulate crypto to protect people, but they really want to regulate crypto to protect themselves and their power over people's money and consequently their lives.  They like being able to tax the people of the world 5-10% every year via inflation.  With around $460 trillion in global wealth, that is a TON of money they'd lose out on stealing from people with the "little guy" being hit the most with high inflation.

Agreed, the government has never wanted to protect the people. 99% of the politicians who run the government only want to act on their self interests and the personal agendas of their backers.

The cryptospace is a threat to the banking system because it will break their monopoly on the creation of money, moving money, laundering of money and many other things about money. It will also break the monopoly on the government's definition of money. If anyone has noticed, much of the people in the community has considered bitcoin to be a more authentic form of money than fiat.
2006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NFT Speculation on: December 19, 2022, 03:28:56 AM
Similar to what I have been saying for a few months, I speculate that as more and more regulations come to control Defi and the cryptospace industry, the next unregulated part of this will be the NFTspace.

No one is going to regulate DEFI. At least in comming 5-10 years. So far they are trying to regulate centralized exchange which seams no to work good (FTX scam). So in next few years they will close some fiat/crypto getaways, they will regulate the rest of them. Made in/out of crypto 100% KYC. After its done they can try to regulate DEFI but how?
The only way to regulate defi on ETH is to buy 51% of tokens or convince hodlers of 51% of tokens to do something. And thats only ETH defi. BNB,TRX,AVX,DOT, MATIC defi is intact. So no one will migrate to NFT. Big money will not move to buy pictures for millions. Big money will buy BTC and ETH as the most liquid and safe assets. Regulations will help that. Big money don't buy illiquid assets. NFT is super illiquid.

I disagree. I reckon the next set of regulations will concentrate more on stopping moneylaundering in the cryptospace, on controlling liquidity that enters and exits stablecoins and a stricter stance given on Defi tokens as securitized assets.

Similar to what I have been saying for a few months, I speculate that as more and more regulations come to control Defi and the cryptospace industry, the next unregulated part of this will be the NFTspace. And naturally, this is where all liquidity will enter next and this is also where the lowest hanging fruits will be for profits.

However, the problem is which NFT projects should we speculate on to make us some profit hehe. Share your favorite NFTs, both speculated to pump and what you hold.

Also for fairness and to make this thread neutral, I will not share my favorite NFTs in this first post. I will share them after you have shared yours. Thank you.

I think it's going to be the next one to be regulated? I read news before that NFT are the new honeypot for criminals to launder their money by buying those expensive art?

It might be and I have created threads having this argument in the forum, with many arguments accusing me of being always the antagonizer again hehehe.

However, my argument against NFTs as the next to be strictly regulated is the government will concentrate on Defi first and this will not be an overnight development. It will be a process that might take more than 3 years, I reckon.

In any case, only one of you replied with a suggestion and this suggestion is a Trump NFT hehe. It is too early to speculate on Trump NFTs but start observing them near the Republican primaries on 2024. Trump will certainly declare his intention to run as president and it appears that he has strong support.

My suggestion would be DR/VRS NFT.

https://weownthenight.io/home

I like the artwork, their roadmap and their team appears to be good on paper. They are also cheap and the price is going lower. This might be a good longterm investment.
2007  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Too much FUD: Why FUD against Binance doesn't seem to be justified on: December 19, 2022, 02:40:34 AM
FUDsters on social media are out in strong force again, trying to suggest that Binance would be about to collapse any day now.  Roll Eyes

Agreed! I do not want to bring race and ethnicity into this similar to what Kanye has done when he talked about who controls hollywood or much of the medical industry , however, there appears to be something similar to what is happening in the cryptospace.

Sam Bankman-Fried and Alex Mashinsky created ponzi schemes, but cryptonews media is not really exposing the truth of what they did.

Barry Silbert is another one. There is something happening with those cryptocoin projects connected with his companies after a coordinated dump, however, cryptonews media is quiet on this.

Changpeng Zhao, a china man with no proven record that he created a ponzi scheme, however it appears that there is a negative propaganda against him.

Hehehe Sam kills himself in prison? It would certainly be similar to how Jeffrey Epstein also killed himself in prison. I am sure this would open up new storylines and conspiracy theories on what Sam's connection really is with the Democratic party and how FTX and Alameda Research came to be one of the top exchanges and top market makers in a very short amount of time.

I will say it first be before it happens. Sam did not kill himself.

Sam is not like Epstein and does not have a wealthy network of friends to protect or sympathize with him.

We cannot be quite certain of this anymore because it appears that Sam's mother is very much connected to the politicians and the financers of the Democratic party. There are speculations that FTX and Alameda were created to be a moneylaundering operation for a certain group of people.

There was also a theory that implied that the aid the American government sent to Ukraine were laundered through FTX and sent to the Democratic party to use for the midterm election. This was denied by the government and the Democratic party, however, I would not be shocked if there was some truth in this.

We might know more when the trial begins or we might not. There are also speculations that Alameda CEO Caroline Ellison has began talking to the feds.

Following the arrest of the former FTX boss Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), spectators continue to wonder where ex-Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison is, and whether or not she turned on SBF. A few reports suggest Ellison is “likely working with feds” and it’s possibly the reason why Ellison was reportedly spotted at the Ground Support cafe in Soho.

I'm a genius, decided to listen to the pundits instead of myself and last second pulled Zay Jones for Higgins and Monty for Bam Knight.

Looks like you still might win your match, albeit with a less crushing score than it could have been.

Hehehe this is very much a similar behavior to NFT trading or they call this flipping.

In any case, week 16 will be a bye week for all of the participants. This will be very useful for me to check on the health and performance of Lamar Jackson and my favorite trade of the season Dallas Goedert hehe. They are speculated to be taken out from the injured list and play on christmas eve!

2010  Economy / Gambling / Re: Neodice.com | Futuristic Dice Platform 🎲🌌 on: December 17, 2022, 05:43:06 AM
Your casino is kind of good but I think you need to look into your faucet. It is a bit too dull and tiring. The graphics too is not that attractive to entice people to participating and if I may ask what is it with the black animated design you put there fore the faucet it does not make any sense to start with. The whole process involves loading and loading each to spin before you get a reward sometimes no rewards after scaling through the tiresome process very very irritating.

The bet too is another there is never a time one wins in your casino all bet gine lose on your casino. It is not good to go that way. I wonder how it was done so. Do you plan or intend for participants to keep loosing their funds on your platform?

For the spin and faucet I think you should put them all in a particular page by the side next should be a spin botton to click right on the same page which Wii spin there and live to give you your results.

Them lastly change the dark graphics you used for the last spin. Just my humble opinion.

Your opinion is certainly respected, but I am afraid that I have to disagree. Neodice is a very beautiful site that brings its players in a relaxing mood. The music, the sound effects, the graphics and the theme are perfect. It is a dice site created not only to make profit quickly for the owners, it was also created to offer its players a different experience.

The gamefied faucets are also something new and they should continue this. However, I agree that they might be dull, only because there is no sound and music if you play them.
2011  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kevin O'Leary says that Binance put FTX out of business on: December 17, 2022, 04:11:41 AM
What specifically was the lie?

I guess it wasn't strictly a testimony. Kevin didn't give a single fact. Well, he admitted it himself. It was an opinion. He could have immediately been cut off right after his admission that what he had was "an opinion. I don't have the records." I don't even understand why this man is invited. What does he know really? What relevant knowledge or information could he contribute to the hearing?

Anyway, my opinion is that CZ opened the Pandora's box. It was full of shit, of course. FTX might fall at a certain point, but it was CZ who pushed it. And down it fell.

Agreed. There was a story about CZ and Sam. It was said that they met in a conference and CZ asked Sam to stop the market manipulation and the liquidation on their own institutional customers like 3 Arrows Capital. The side story is it was rumored that Alameda Research liquidated 3 Arrows and also Alameda triggered the fud that caused a run on Anchor protocol where billions of Luna UST were stored for yields.

In any case, when Sam appeared not to listen to CZ, it was said that CZ made the decision to liquidate the remaining FTT they were holding and caused a cascade of dumping within FTX which killed the exchange.

What presently might be happening his Sam's backers and his connections in politics might be making their own response by starting their own attack against CZ and Binance.

According to crypto analytics portal Delphi Digital, more than $5 billion were withdrawn from major cryptocurrency exchange Binance in a two-day period between Dec. 13 and 14. The outflow was triggered by rumors that U.S. prosecutors were considering charging Binance and executives with money laundering and sanctions violations.

2012  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-12-16] Germany calls for global regulation of the cryptospace on: December 17, 2022, 03:15:55 AM
I think that without strict regulation, we cannot expect that anything will change in the sense that no new Bankman or Kwon will appear. At the same time, I think that strict regulation should go in the direction of much more difficult opening of centralized CEX and strict supervision of their operations. Some may consider it a threat to Bitcoin, but I don't think that would be the case, because Bitcoin is just a collateral victim in all of this.

A money factory that has its base in thousands of cryptocurrencies is nothing but one big fraud, no matter what name it hid behind - ICO, IOU, DeFi, stablecoins, or NTF. We can lie as much as we want, but the amount of money that disappeared through everything I mentioned is measured in hundreds of billions of $, and all because current laws allow it.

I am therefore in favor of draining that swamp, no matter how much some are against it. Of course, the price has to be paid, and it certainly won't be small - the average person still believes that Bitcoin should be blamed for everything, no matter how pointless it is.

I can agree in some of your argument that some regulation is good, however, what much of it will do is stop smaller, less advanced scammers. I am quite certain it will not stop the Bernie Maddofs, Elizabeth Holmes and the Sams in the world, who will have the proper connections to develop their scams and steal billions more in total compared to the small ICO, IOU, Defi and NFT scams of the world.

Also, ICO, IOU, Defi and NFT are not scams but only mediums that can be used for scams. This is very much similar to bitcoin where it can be used as a medium for scams but bitcoin itself is never the scam. I hope everyone will distinguish and accept the difference in this.
2013  Economy / Speculation / [Speculated] Barry Silbert dump on: December 17, 2022, 01:09:29 AM

Updates coming in this thread.

Obviously, there is some kind of mutual understanding going on between Dana and Paddy. Dana wants him to be the next poster boy for sure.
I don't know if this is going to be a wise decision made by the UFC or not. Because I certainly think that Paddy has the potential to be the next poster boy for the UFC.
Terrible performance by Paddy Pimblett and clearly lost the first and third round and he still won the fight, what a magical performance by the judges  Cheesy.

Dana White Privilege strikes again. I wish they'd stop doing three rounds fights. They're too short and far too hard to judge when most of them go the distance. Paddy was embarrassing after that fight. Terrible attitude and begging Dana for the fight of the night bonus. Gonna be interesting where they go after this. No doubt Paddy will just fight bums to get the hype train back on track. They should make Paddy V Connor for his comeback fight. That would do well and Connor needs someone he can beat. Two hype trains colliding and only one will survive  Cheesy.

Agreed that Paddy the baddy has Dana White privleges similar to Conor, also agreed that Paddy lost the fight. However, blaming the judges' decision on Dana might be incorrect. Those judges are not employed by the UFC. They are sent by the athletic commission from the state of Nevada, similar to the referees. Dana does not have control on the officiating that occurs in the octagon.

I speculate the next opponent for Paddy might be a dead body and the oddsmakers will list him as an underdog hehehe.

2016  Bitcoin / Press / [2022-12-16] Germany calls for global regulation of the cryptospace on: December 16, 2022, 06:20:16 AM
I reckon no amount of stricter regulations will stop the more advanced type or the higher level scammers similar to Sam Bankrupt-Fried who, has the political connections and who has wealthy financial backers that can finance their criminal and moneylaundering operations. Everyone should become very much aware of this.

I would be shaking my head if we, the commoners of the cryptospace, would support a move for stricter global regulations in crypto. This will only make the use of cryptocoins, Defi and other protocols harder for us commoners, however, it will certainly not make it more difficult for those higher level criminals to create and fund their scams in crypto.

Cryptocurrency regulation is currently a focal point for regulators and lawmakers all across the world. Regulators have been tightening the noose around the crypto industry to safeguard consumers from bad actors.

The colossal fall of the FTX crypto exchange has alarmed regulators even more, and lawmakers are trying to bring effective and efficient crypto regulation into place.

The president of BaFin has censured the current synopsis of the regime that governs the crypto sectors as not strict enough. This points toward the condition where the industry will not be able to keep bad actors in control.

2017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SBF, arrested! on: December 16, 2022, 01:55:46 AM
I can tell by now that Caroline is a lot more influential than SBF. So we may be able to see SBF commit suicide.

That won't help victim of FTX bankruptcy regain their funds though. And if he died, i expect it'll be more difficult for the victim to regain their losses.
It will be another disaster, when SBF kills himself he will not be held accountable for his crimes anymore.
As you said, it will be difficult to recover the losses of FTX victims.

But does SBF still have other assets to be able to compensate the victims, and will the other perpetrators also be investigated in relation to this case?
I feel sorry for the many victims who have a lot of assets in FTX and whose losses still can't be recovered.

https://coinplay.com/line/tv-games/1033765-special-bets-cinema/153563932-next-bond-after-daniel-craig

Can there also be odds for which actor would take over to become the next Wolverine? Those who are not a fan of movies, the rights for the X Men franchise has been purchased by Marvel Entertainment. This implies that there might be new actors that will be playing our favorite X Men characters including the fan favorite Wolverine hehehe.

Hi! Speaking as a Marvel enjoyer, this is a fun idea Smiley I'll let the rest of the team know, we might think about it.

I am quite certain there are many more Marvel enjoyers here in bitcointalk hehe. I reckon the new Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon might also be a popular choice to offer betting odds for entertainment betting. The original has gotten quite an attraction in the forum before. Maybe House of the Dragon might also get some interest.

Thank you for listening!

...
Again, I am not trying to defend coinplay, as we don't know what happened and why they banned your account, but the other scam casinos you mentioned will usually confiscate all your money and will not let you withdraw any penny. This is not what happened with you or with brandonlang
You can ask their support to tell you which term they think you have breached. But if I were you (since you are not satisfied with their service) I would take my money and find another casino.

I am also not defending any gambling site, but I have observed that there are some people in the forum that have expressed that some of the red trust rating in some of the gambling services' accounts in bitcointalk does not imply that the service is really a scam.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5428255.0

I am worried that what this might imply is that the trust rating is being abused and it might not be trusted that much anymore.
2020  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Three US lawmakers' reactions amidst FTX collapse on: December 15, 2022, 02:21:00 AM
The only way any new legislation will actually be enacted is if a majority of congresspeople support such a thing. But right now it seems that most of them do not care so much about cryptocurrency and are too busy with other stuff.

I disagree that stablecoins should be regulated first, considering it was a token that took down the entire exchange. So they should start with that if they want to take an immediate action to prevent a market tank again.

Almost 1 month after your reply, it appears that the legislators in both the lower and the upper house might come to an agreement to create a bipartisan bill for regulating the cryptospace. According to this article, it will create laws and regulations to crackdown on moneylaundering, however, I speculate that similar to much of the of bills created, some statements on this bill would be vague, broad and open to interpretation.

As federal prosecutors seek to imprison former crypto darling Sam Bankman-Fried, Sen. Elizabeth Warren is attempting to push through Congress a bipartisan crackdown on money laundering in the crypto industry.

The Massachusetts Democrat is teaming up with Republican Sen. Roger Marshall of Kansas to introduce new legislation on Wednesday that would seek to close loopholes in the financial system that pose national security risks by allowing digital assets to be used for money laundering, Warren’s office told CNN.
