2001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: November 19, 2021, 11:59:08 AM
Also I really want Donaire to win as I want him to fight Casimero or either Inoue.
He might win this fight but don't expect he will fight Casimero because they are on the same promotion. Inoue is most likely his next opponent because they fought before and it will be easy for Probellum to reach out Top Rank CEO Bob Arum to make this fight happen.
2002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 19, 2021, 07:13:12 AM
You can call it's a desperate move by the Lakers management to get all this veterans and put it on one time and then can't find the perfect fit to all of them.

Somewhat though, I remember the discussions about them in the pre-season games where the Lakers lost a lot of games and we say that it is not that important. But now it seems that we are seeing that even today, they are struggling to win and now that Lebron is out, it is far more evident that the veterans are not jelling as they supposed to.
I am rooting for their wise perspective about the game they love. All they need is time to figure out how they can use all their skills to make each other better. Then, they also need to at least afford the 8th seed or better 7th for just 1 game to win in the play-in tournament and take a spot for the playoffs. When that happens, we might see upsets that will break NBA records again.

Speaking of records, Nikola Jokic halftime record against 76ers 27 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and there is still another 24 minutes left to be played.
That's the stats of a star player who played 48 minutes already.
And he ended with 30 points, only 3 points scored in the next 24 minutes.

Obviously, they won't win if that is his stat in the second half. While the Sixers played solid the whole game even without their best man, Joel.
Sixers are a good team even without Embiid, that's because they have good chemistry and everyone on the floor can contribute.
Jokic is no doubt a great player and will likely win an MVP this season but their inconsistency is here again, so I must say they really need Murray to be back in the lineup again as he can be consistent in helping Jokic or even lead the team.

The Lakers case is unique though, they have a lot of superstars and yet they always struggle and having a hard time closing teams.
They are different because they are consistent, consistently struggling.
2003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: November 19, 2021, 06:20:21 AM
Anyone who follows Snow Badua? Before, Romeo said that he has a life debt to SMC and that's why he doesn't want to accept B League's offer. But lately, the guy that I've mentioned has just opened the offer to Terrence for about $55,000/month and it will increase within the next year or next season of his stay in the B League. All things are free, accommodation and food. That's a good offer to him but still haven't said anything lately with that offer.
That's a huge amount of money. The chance that Romeo might accept this is very possible. With the hypes of those Pinoy stars who played inside B-League, maybe Romeo will accept that he doesn't have anything to prove the talent should be shared internationally Grin If I'm on hi shoe I will go and grab that opportunities, he should look at how SMB trade his big bro players that he respected the most and guide him while he still new to SMB.

He can still go back, correct me if I'm wrong it's a one-year ban then he can apply again to play right? the worth of money he will going to bag from this offer is more than enough to provide his family's needs. Wink Cool

I agree with you, if SMB can easily ditch their players that have contributed to their success in the past easily, then most likely he will experience it in the future. AFAIK, Romeo's monthly salary is just around Php 200k to Php 300k per month, but if he played with the B League, he will get more or less x10 of his current salary, so I think he should go and forget about that debt of gratitude thing.

This is the story behind that Debt of Gratitdue.
https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/terrence-romeo-declines-offer-from-japan-b-league-team-a800-20210705

and this is his salary if he every sign a contract.

Quote
Breaking down the offer, Romeo, sources said, was supposed to receive $50,000 a month on the first year of the contract, $75,000 in the second and $100,000 in the third year.

$100k per month in the 3rd year, that's more like 5 million pesos per month, that is a life-changing offer and I hope he'll consider it now that the PBA is slowly losing its popularity.
2004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will MEME coin rule the world? on: November 18, 2021, 08:23:26 PM
No and it's just a temporary trend. Maybe what you saw today meme coin is not something worth holding on to in the long term. I've never even been interested in a single meme coin for now. Even though there are a lot of crazy offers and promotions out there that will get you over 1000x. but in fact it's never interested me personally.
Meme coins will never be the best option to rule the world because they will just exist temporarily, and after those whales stop shilling on them, they will never be relevant in the market. And when that happens, most likely their value will turn into zero or maybe undervalued. So don't just easily trust the trend we have right now, they may be deceiving on our part. Think of the future instead. If they still exist in the near future and still with great value, then they must really have the potentials to rule not the world really but the crypto market.
2005  Economy / Speculation / Re: will we witness year end bullrun or bull trap? on: November 18, 2021, 05:50:30 PM
Not sure, there's a post I read from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5371847.0 they say that the analysis says there's no need to worry about the market showing a drastic decline. For me it is also not completely certain. The market conditions are like that, as if they are going to plunge, but the price reversal is actually going up. As for long term holders it's not something to worry about, they can walk away from the market and don't need to know how Bitcoin is entering the Bear Market though. In fact they are used to it and will not do too much. Is it possible to save finances to stable coin? it depends if short-term traders feel confident the Bitcoin price will drop below $50-$40K soon.
The decline in the price of bitcoin that occurred in the last few days in my opinion is only temporary and this could be a good opportunity for us to buy bitcoin, some people predict that bitcoin may fall to touch the price of $ 56K and for me personally this will be an opportunity which is good for buying and storing bitcoin, with bitcoin's strong fundamentals so far, I believe that bitcoin will rise again as usual, so the price decline that is happening now is not something that should make us panic.

It's more of a good opportunity to buy more bitcoin at its low price. After this, holding is still the best option because once bitcoin will go even deeper like $56k down to $50k, then its more likely that we will see bitcoin again rising up and maybe this time $100k will now be possible to be its new ATH. History may only repeat itself so there's no room for panic and worries because the present dump will pave for bitcoin to its new ATH in the next couple of days. Let's be optimistic this time as this dump is just another part of the cycle before bitcoin starts to skyrocket again.
2006  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks will die crypto will take over in 5-10 years on: November 18, 2021, 04:55:14 AM
There is no logic in these arguments. Already some of the banks are working with cryptocurrency. Even if cryptocurrency completely replace fiat (which is extremely unlikely), there is a chance that the banks would still exist. They would simply integrate crypto in to their platform. Look at the case with PayPal. A few years ago, we were debating on a similar topic. Would PayPal become extinct, if cryptocurrency becomes popular. And see what happened after that. PayPal just integrated BTC to their system and it is turning out to be mutually beneficial for both the sides.
That will be more likely the future of crypto and banks too. If you insist to believe that crypto will definitely replace banks in the near future and make them extinct, maybe you are living in a false hope. That will never happen because the government itself will never allow it to happen that a decentralized currency will take over fiat and banks.

However, i'm very open that banks and crypto will both have a future together because its possible that crypto transaction will be integrated into banks and other centralized financial institutions. Both will exist so that people can benefit the services from crypto and banks.
2007  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Recent Drop Below $60K Is Not Worrisome, Analyst Says on: November 17, 2021, 09:02:27 PM
I have been saying it since a long time, Even if bitcoin drops below 10k usd it will recover back in a year easily but looking at the market now it's rare if bitcoin drop below 30k.

Bitcoin's popularity is only going to rise and children in schools, universities will know about it and will be curious to pay in bitcoin thus raising the bitcoin's users and market cap, thus higher price.
2021 is very different from its previous years because a lot of big institutions today have already backed bitcoin so we can say that the adoption rate this time is very strong and is not easy to break. Of course, bitcoin is still prone to show price decline whenever price correction enters the market but we can be more confident this time that bitcoin price won't really drop below $30k or even $20k because of the strong support it had.

However, regarding of the recent drop, its a good thing either because it has opened another opportunity for those newly investors who want to buy bitcoin from its lower price. Now, the market is starting to recover again so hopefully, this will be the start for bitcoin and most of the altcoins to start showing huge price increase in the market.
2008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is your best investment tool recommendation??? on: November 17, 2021, 01:00:27 PM
I've done a lot of research since I shared this post. And if it is going to be a million-dollar investment, I decided that it would be more logical to buy an altcoin with plenty of zeros and a strong investor. You have to wait at least 5 years.
Good luck. But it doesn't mean that just because it has a lot of zeros, it can give you that much hope and profit within the next days or years of its operation.
A lot of things can happen even within a year as you wait for 5 years. Just make sure that you've done your research for that altcoin that you've invested.
So that there's no regret for you when it gives you profit or losses. For me, it's more logical to buy the strongest and most reputed cryptos instead of putting myself into another risky investment.

thanks dude. Actually, I've been thinking pretty much the same thing as you lately. In this period when money is hard to invest, it is not right for me to take risks anymore. it makes much more sense to invest in a strong crypto. you're right.
Exactly. Diversify your investment with bitcoin and ethereum because both of them will certainly become more profitable in the future and eventually, we can expect huge profits from them. Do not entertain some altcoins that are only good for pump and dump because in the end, they will only lose their value. I also suggest that acquiring gold too is good idea. When things got tough for crypto, at least you have gold that can still give you decent amount of profits.
2009  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investors their mind on: November 17, 2021, 07:58:49 AM
The problem is how does one control his mind when there is a huge lose
Everyone who invests their money in crypto must know the risk in crypto. Before investing money, investors must understand the nature of crypto investment. So, whenever getting losses whether it is huge or small, he/she must be aware of them. He/she won't be surprised if losing huge money, or earning money in a large amount.

This is the reason why we should be more knowledgeable on the things we are investing. The risk it has and the possibilities to lose more or to make profits often. But i know, in all types of investments there's always risks, so there's a chance to lose your funds aside from earning more funds. And when we start losing money, i think it will be better to accept it because its the reality. As long as you learn from all your losses, i know in the long run you can start to manage your losses and minimize it, and then start seeing your profits starts to grow now.
2010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: correction or start of a bear market? on: November 16, 2021, 08:35:19 PM
Over the past months, Bitcoin has strengthened and reached its all-time high of $68k. Therefore, it is not surprising that the moment of correction should come someday. It is impossible to guess if this correction will turn into a bear market, because now the crypto market is significantly different from what it was in 2018.
I think we are just having a price correction at the moment, not literally that this will go beyond its bearish season. The last quarter of the year has always been bullish and if any price correction happens, its an opportunity to make the coins reach new ATH after the price correction. So we shoud not panic in times like this because this is definitely part of the cycle. We may see most of the coins dumping even bitcoin itself, but after this, they eventually recover again and can even end up into having new ATH.
2011  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon musk now the richest man in earth on: November 16, 2021, 07:31:06 AM
Elon musk always makes phenomenal things, when there are many negative campaigns and bitcoin banned then he invests bitcoin, and now it is proven that what he is doing will be an inspiration for anyone to invest bitcoin, I believe elon musk's wealth can increase to billions of dollars because of the price of bitcoin which continues to rise.
It's amazing what Elon Musk did and on the other hand there are a lot of people who hate him too,
there is no doubt that Elon Musk's wealth will continue to grow,
he really isn't satisfied with what he's achieved so far
He can surely sustain as being the richest man on earth but the question is, Can he surely maintain his position? Well, nobody really stays at the top forever, as time goes on things begins to change. Especially he isn't that satisfied with what he achieved so far. He should enjoy while it lasts. Hard times coming soon.
Nothing lasts forever and we will never know until when it will happen, Musk is a great person and is never satisfied with his achievements and in his journey there are bound to be obstacles or problems that he faces and he can turn things around.
But whatever the reason, everything has a time because above the sky there is another sky that is better and only time will tell, and basically Musk is a great person and has the character of a person who never gives up, is focused, has a very high entrepreneurial spirit. Humorous, humble, generous and always consider mistakes as learning and idealism.
And if Musk can keep his character, I think he'll be fine.
With all those positive traits you've mentioned about Elon, there's no reason that he can't sustain his spot. But we are only looking at its present status, we really don't know what will happen in between. Its either Elon will gain more huge profits from all his investments that makes him even richer or the other way around, most of his investments will fall due to some unexpected reasons. No one really holds the future, we can only tell once we cross the bridge.

For now, Elon is very capable to sustain his present position, but it will be uncertain how will Elon look in the future.
2012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple CEO Tim Cook invests on Crypto on: November 16, 2021, 02:01:59 AM
Apple CEO Tim Cook have invested on cryptocurrency. He has disclosed it in a recorded interview. He mentioned it as part of his diversified portfolio. His investment was from his personal point, and Apple doesn't have any plans of investing/accepting cryptocurrency. This is a big news, and were into discussion around the social media platforms. Majority of the huge company CEO's own crypto. This is a big thing and an indication of growth of cryptocurrency network.

Source : The Verge

This is going to get more and more interesting when other industries make their move into crypto and the users of their tech follow them.
All it takes is a reputable person to get into something and others below him to follow him.
Do you people find this to be more interesting and a big news in the market. I don't think it so, and I find this to be a news that is common. In my view Tim Cook could've invested on cryptocurrency long back itself. Now only he had got an opportunity to reveal to the outer world, as well as there is more legal support for bitcoin than the past.
We dont know if he had invested before this announcement or totally a new thing on which he did jump on to this market which is really a good news that big and popular people had already recognized
its existence.

Sooner or later we would really be seeing CEO's and other billionaires out there would surely make out investment but for sure there are people who did really make out such
step but didnt tend to announce in public.

We do really need these kind of consideration to make adoption even more wider and bigger which would really result into high price increase.
The people are just waiting for some big names from different companies to invest in bitcoin or crypto and after that, there are bigger chances that they will start taking the path too so they can follow the footprints of those billionaires. I think crypto investment just needs more influenced people to attract massive adoption for crypto because once the regular investors will see to it that there's more on crypto that even big people in the world are investing, then who are they really not to grab such opportunities that will create big changes in their lives.
2013  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if $70k was Bitcoin ATH for the year? on: November 15, 2021, 06:56:27 PM
Will you be satisfied if 2021  ends with an ATH of $70k for Bitcoin. Will it make you more richer or it wouldn't add any value to your intial capital.
Will you regret you joined the trend late or  would you be glad you bought when the  market did a retracement? Or you are still staring at Bitcoin with some sentiment
If that was the best price we reached then so be it, bitcoin is going to do what the supply and demand dictates so there is no point in lamenting it if that were to happen, I could understand if the investors that came to this market during this year did something like that as they have no experience about how to deal with this, but someone that is more experimented and that has been here for longer should remember the really bad days of bitcoin and how this lasted for years, so an ATH of 70k is a reason to celebrate and not to lament yourself.
Exactly. We should be thankful instead that we get to enjoy the profits from bitcoin that this bullish season brings. Its up to you if you did not enjoy the price of bitcoin since you are more engrossed with meme coins that are also profitable these days. If $70k will be the last ATH this year, some investors will not be satisfied though especially to those who have just entered the market. But i know for majority, bitcoin price is already high enough knowing bitcoin has reached a lot of ATH this year, so we should be even more grateful about it.
2014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Community means everything on: November 15, 2021, 09:55:26 AM

For every coins it is necessary to have a big community to be in demand. To do this it is necessary to create a useful for people tool. Now there is a big demand for P2P platforms like this https://twitter.com/AutobitcoP2P/status/1449602504069578754

It is necessary that project, dapp or tool will be necessary to be in demand. In such case community will support such project and its team.

The support of the community is very important for every project. That is why it is very important to interact with the community and speak with people to increase the trust in the project.
Having a huge community of the projects means more adoption of it while those projects who has build only a small community, it means the adoption is very rare. So community means everything to the project or the token itself. We will no longer see coins that are in top 10 in CMC if they have less community. All these coins are building their own community which in any time the market suddenly crashes, then its the community of the coins themselves will be the one to backed and rebuild its value again.
2015  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need advice regarding buying on: November 15, 2021, 03:20:55 AM
What are you guys currently doing ? Still buying at 65-68k ? Waiting a for a while ?

Thank you all, and have a great day !
Yeah, have a great day same as you.
First, there's no point in waiting, you can invest any time you want but with this bullish trend, I suggest not to invest all your money, only the amount that you can afford.  Because we don't know what will happen next, Bitcoin price could be reached at $100k within this year or next year, so nobody knows when it will exactly happen, and if you invested at $65k and when next month Bitcoin price reaches $100k, for sure there's your profit in that way.  Just buy what you can afford because nobody can answer your question since it's unpredictable the price.

There's a lot of people still buying at this point and most of them are hoarding Bitcoin.  If you always doubt the price that it will drop and see the market that we are again in the bullish trend, it's hard for you to jump in.  Invest at your own risk.

It's always your own choice actually whether you take the risk buying at its peak or maybe wait for a while because certainly, there will be an incoming price correction whether we like it or not. For me, knowing bitcoin price will keep on moving upward despite of the price correction, if you really have the budget then why not? If you don't want to miss opportunities like this, then go for it, but you should know how to deal its high risk. But if you are quite hesitant with its current price, then you can also wait for a price correction to appear so that the price will dump a little and you can make a big purchase that will eventually give you massive profits in time.
2016  Economy / Economics / Re: Possible market crash in the near future? on: November 14, 2021, 11:16:24 PM
I understand cryptocurrencies are volatile, high risk investments. But, are you guys expecting a market crash anytime soon?
When more number of people start booking profit then from corrections to crash may happen but the good thing about cryptocurrency market is it will bounce back in very short period of time even after any big crash. So, you will never need to worry about any possible crash.

For example, bitcoin has crashed from $64 to $28k levels by the times of April/May months of this year still you may check yourself on where we are trading right now. So, you never need to worry about the upcoming bear market but you should plan for making use of those bear market by keep on buying at all dips to ensure your massive profits.
There will always be possible market crash in the near future and that will never be prevented or avoided. Because its also part of the market cycle wherein after every bullish season, bearish season will definitely happen too. But there is no need to worry for that as long as you always take advantage of making profits during this time of bullish season. And when bearish season comes, take advantage of the market too by buying the potential coins you want to add in your portfolio. If you can make big purchase at its bearish, expect to gain huge profits too when the peak prices hit the market.
2017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brazilian Congressman proposes Crypto Payment for workers on: November 14, 2021, 09:33:53 PM
Cryptocurrency is increasingly getting into our everyday lives! A congressman in Brazil has recently proposed a bill to allow Brazilian citizens to choose whether to receive their payroll in cryptos or in fiat. If accepted, it will be an important step forward to total Bank independence.

Are you guys hoping for the same to happen in your country?

if the country is still developing and the payment for workers is still too small, I don't think it is worth paying with crypto. because usually their salary will always run out for their daily needs, it's no wonder they don't even have a salary left. paying using crypto will only add to the burden for them, it doesn't seem effective, other than maybe only those who have a certain salary, there must be criteria first.

Of course, that is not an option for many workers. Workers who receive the minimum wage in countries like Brazil would have no benefit at all to have their payroll in cryptos. I guess that a crypto payroll would be better suited to white collars and other workers with bigger salaries. Nevertheless, in case the law gets passed, they will always have the right to choose between fiat and crypto.

It would be interesting if BTC could enter Brazil, because Brazilians are very nationalistic, I have been in Brazil and they prefer to operate with their money, that is, Brazilian Reals, they prefer them even above the dollar, so if Brazilians begin to try BTC technology, this culture may change them completely, plus the advantage of all this is that Brazil is too big a country and if they are interested in BTC the demand will grow, causing the price to increase more.

Its a good thing that a Brazilian Congressman can be a good instrument to introduce bitcoin to his workers. And if these workers are willful to accept in btc payments, then i think there should be merchants too in Brazil who should start to accept btc payment so that these workers too will be able to spend their bitcoin to buy their necessities.

However, if i were one of the workers, i would be glad to accept btc because i can now invest in bitcoin and just hold it for future profits. And some of them might be converted into fiat too so i can also buy to sustain my basic needs.
2018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul on: November 12, 2021, 09:38:14 PM
~snip

Frankly, these two men are both mediocre in terms of boxing. We cannot expect much from both of them actually if we are to consider them as real boxing fighters. As boxers they have not proven anything at all. Of course we can see that both of them have perfect boxing records, untarnished, undefeated. But look at their past matches. They are all nothing but entertainment shows. They're not real boxers.

Tommy Fury is no better than Jake Paul in his status as a boxer. They both belong to the same level of mediocrity.
Seems to me that you're right, but I think that there must be some level gap between the two that helps in distinguishing which one is least mediocre. I guess we'll just have to watch it and see if there's some fun to this fight. It pains me to watch two kids duke it out which is the same thing as this match.
To see an entertainment of course the match is worth watching, but to see a real boxing fight it seems we will not find this match, even though jack paul has so far managed to beat several opponents in the ring but none of his opponents are from the world of boxing, while tommy Fury, I don't think he has anything to be proud of in the boxing world except for his big brother name, Tyson Fury.

All the fights of Jake Paul favor him but this time around I'm sure it will not. We like to see someone who could potentially beat his ass and that's gonna be Tommy Fury. In terms of experience, Fury is more experience compared to Jake Paul so most probably this will be the first time we will see Jake Paul as an underdog in the betting sites....

and as I said, we have the odds already and Jake Paul is indeed the underdog.

Good luck on your pick @stadus... but it's not only the Bucks who have inconsistency, even the Celtics are also experiencing some big losses due to their inconsistency. I believe Giannis own the Celtics, so I think it's good to put some player props too for Giannis as he could get a double double here.
2020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: November 12, 2021, 08:14:01 PM
If only they know how the team would work before the trade then they will not gonna make a mistake. Just like the Lakers when they thought they'll get better with Westbrook but the reality is they are not, their ranking is not what fans are expecting them to be. C Stan has been in different teams, he played with Northport, it doesn't work out as well, so most probably he is the problem.
Trade is to balance the team I guess and the management knows every risk of this one, since they are paying huge money just to make this kind of trade possible. If he is a good player, the can still perform but don't expect too much if you're the only top player because no one can lift the team up alone. I bellieve Northport is balanced team now, let's see if they can perform better as a team.
It takes a good team to win of course, just like in NBA with the golden state, Curry can’t bring the crown for their team alone. SMB probably see a big opportunity with the other player and probably they are trying to make the team more fresh on this up coming conference, let’s just see the final imports of the team they have to contribute since its their job in the first place.
The good thing about the imports in the PBA is they can replace them easily even if the conference is still ongoing, I some instances in the past when an import does not meet the expectations of the team management and they can just replace with a new one, maybe they already have some back up in case things like that would happen.
