1101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 13, 2022, 02:19:50 PM
That is kind of weird, it somehow gave us some second thoughts or hopes that the fight will really happen this year but we cannot take away the fact that the bookies have listed the fight when the news broke that both camps already agreed and just waiting for the signing of contract without knowing that there's an unfortunate news just few days after they had listed it. Fans are still hoping for the promised fight but judging the situation they are in now, I can somehow say that this might happen next year.

At least fans are still giving a slight possibility that this fight will really happen. Who knows that bookies do have a reliable source that's why they are doing such a list even though there's no official announcement on where the fight will happen.

Even with this bad news recently, I'm still hoping that this fight will happen.

Even not on the supposed Nov. 19 or Nov. 30, at least in the early quarter of 2023.

At this point, both camps have been talking for 4 months already but still, all we have at the end is a slight possibility that this fight will happen. The latest rumor is that both camps might have stopped talking already, we don't even know if it's delayed or not because we are just hoping for some words that they haven't said. As of the bookies list's, they could erase that odds anytime they want.
1102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 13, 2022, 10:26:37 AM
Aside from the fact that he really have some skills, he is doing everything he could and bring a good performance even if it was just a pre-season game because he is aiming for the Warriors to give him an extension. I mean, any team could probably give him the figure he wanted because he is really a superstar in the making but only the Warriors these days can help him to have more rings in the future.
Yes, this is a reality!
I believe the Warriors are giving Poole a great opportunity to grow. Not to mention, he will have some experienced players to help him, for example Curry and Thompson.
If he improves, gaining consistency and others important attributes, he will become a great diamond that the Warriors are polishing.

He is already polished, but yeah, I believed that there are rooms for improvement, he is still very young and the opportunity is there for him in the Warriors, putting aside the difference with Green and hopefully they will still be very professional and will play to bring the Warriors another ring this season.

And we have also seen Wiseman in the pre-games and yes the hype is real for this kind. Warriors is still very dangerous team and who knows, they can retain the championship.

What an interesting season to begin with, there has been a lot players that hasn't played last season because of their respective injuries and now they are coming back, bouncing back and looking forward to get back what they supposed to have. Especially Wiseman, I believe the kid has a lot of potential, just waiting to be unlocked by Steve Kerr.
1103  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you felt the impact of inflation so far? on: October 13, 2022, 08:44:23 AM
We are experiencing inflation yearly because our fiat money is slowly depreciating.
The problem right now is, it went very high that most of the people especially in the 3rd world countries aren't ready for it.

As for me, I felt it so much. Fare here in our country is higher than what it is a year ago because of the increase in Oil. Prices of commodities are going high because inflation is high. The unfortunate part is some of the people here in our country isn't ready for it and they are doing the best that they can just to survive. Some only eat twice a day instead of three. Some are finding a 2nd source of income aside from their primary income source. There are some who are gambling as well just to have money to be used in their daily lives which is the thing that I don't want to do myself. There are some who are just begging around the streets just to have money which is the sad thing.

Food prices increased because of inflation, and it is affecting all of us. The salary of most of the people here increased but not enough. I felt the impact of inflation but lucky for me, I'm ready for it because I have emergency funds that can be used if needed.
The worst thing about this inflation is that it touches already our emergency funds just to cope up with our expenses when it’s supposedly intended to spend only when there are unforeseen emergencies that are happening suddenly. So the thought about it made me more realized that what if this inflation will hit its peak and become uncontrolled, would people still survive? Well, maybe this would be the time that even rich people should also learn to balance their wants and needs, and these poor people will double their jobs just for survival alone.
1104  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why newbies get banned on: October 12, 2022, 08:50:20 PM
A lot of newbies generally think that Bitcointalk is some complex platform that you really need to study; but in fact, no — you really don't need to know the deep ins and outs of Bitcointalk. You simply just need to not spam and to not plagiarize, and you'll be totally fine.

^What's far more important is your knowledge with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. Bitcointalk is just an online forum just like any other online forum. You can go as deep as understanding the forum's software code but it would be useless if you don't know crap about Bitcoin/crypto.
Bitcointalk is always overrated as the most profitable source when it comes to crypto or bitcoin investment. But that won’t happen if you are here just to earn and gain. You need to acquire first hand knowledge that will help you to get through with the risks in the market as this bitcointalk forum deals more on crypto business and investments. However, not literally that you will consider it as a course to take or get yourself involved totally, but just learn the basics in crypto most particularly with bitcoin. In the end, your experience will teach you everything about crypto or bitcoin.
1105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A painter received $50 worth of bitcoin on June 2013. on: October 12, 2022, 08:16:11 PM

It turned out, it was one the best painting job she did. It's also a good thing she still can access her blockchain.com account. People who didn't mind thier account since the early days forgot about it and recovering is difficult.

$50/BTC is the price of BTC in 2013. That's how fast the price had climbed to 2017. Waiting for 2025, she could get more than $60K.
Definitely, the painting that will definitely bring a lot of big changes in her life. Maybe there’s always a good reward if you tend to forget your investment for a long time and just remember it and start reaping only at the present time. Well, good thing if you are into long term hodling for bitcoin, because if that woman received another coin just like altcoin, then maybe it’s value would have dropped more and might even ne considered useless these days.
1106  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My thoughts and now my experience. on: October 12, 2022, 08:20:06 AM
Hello everyone I joined this forum over a year now and I was very excited to join. I warmly by the forum members and I felt very welcomed. I had great ambition oh well I think my ambitions were overly much.

I had some thoughts about cryptocurrency and I thought they were enough for me to achieve all I had come here for.
I didn't spend much time and jumped into the crypto market and I guess it swallowed me. I ventured into investing, trading, schemes and everything that I thought would give me profits. How wrong I was, I made bad investments that were from my imagination that anything I touched in crypto would favour me all I had to do is buy a low and affordable coin and hold.

Long story short I have some coins in my possession that are dead and from reality now those coins won't rise again.
Your story is very common, many people come to this market thinking about all the money they can make but they never think about all the money they can lose, and this is very disturbing, because if you take a look at the statistics about the overall success of anyone that tries to trade or to invest you will see that the majority of people do not really get good results, and this is because they are so blinded by their greed that they try all kinds of methods to make money without really knowing what they are doing, and instead of getting profits what they do is to accelerate the rate at which they lose money, and only once they have lost most of their capital that is the moment when they begin to think about all the things they have done wrong.
Unfortunately, newbies who come to invest in the market are even more confident that they can beat losses in crypto, and since they are mostly motivated by greed, they spend too much investing even in new projects that are currently in hype, and turn out to learn their lessons only when they start experiencing losses and regrets from their own decisions. However, with OP’s desire to correct his mistakes so he can attract possible profits, hopefully this time he’ll start to achieve his goal and maximize his profits more than losses.
1107  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why speculate when you can be at peace with Bitcoin on: October 11, 2022, 09:59:44 PM
Some people view market fluctuations as an opportunity to make money in a few clicks. Who doesn't dream of simply buying low and selling high instead of going to a 9-5 job? And there's a widespread perception that with some "skill" you can do just that. These people tolerate the stress of losing their money, because they believe that they are making the right move.

But generally it's smarter to ride the long trend, have your positions last for years and make a trade after some fundamental shift.
Just go along with the trend and you will never be wrong. If you think that the market condition is the right timing to buy or sell, then go for it. After all, you will learn from the consequences of your own action. However, it’s even a wiser decision if you can develop and manage your own strategy and create a good position in the market, that way you will have more chances to create even small but consistent profits.
1108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk is one of the keys to be 100k$ per Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2022, 09:35:42 PM

roll a 12 sided die

-  Good day to all my friends here on this forum, based on what you can see in the picture the two @Dave Portnoy and @Elon Musk had a short conversation about their Bitcoin holdings. And Elon Musk did mention that there hasn't been any bitcoin for sale since he bought it. Is the question true that Musk mentioned that he posted on the Twitter platform?

In addition to this, many of us in this industry community know that the price of bitcoin will increase by around 100k$ or more, there is just no certain day and year when it will happen. Also, we don't even know how many bitcoins Elon Musk holds, but he is one of the biggest holdings of bitcoins in the world today.

Do you think Elon Musk is one of those who will push the price of bitcoin up to reach 100k$ each when the bull run comes?

Your opinion is much appreciated Smiley

Source : https://cointelegraph.com/news/i-have-not-sold-any-of-my-bitcoin-elon-musk
Well for me, not anymore because Elon is no good for nothing. He tries to manipulate bitcoin price before but he never succeeded, and only turned out to hype dogecoin and drop its value again when the hype stops. So I don’t think that Elon will bring significance to bitcoin anymore. Bitcoin has a lot of potentials to grow, so even without the financial support from Elon, bitcoin will still attain high growth in its own price and of course with possible global adoption in the future.
1109  Economy / Economics / Re: Can commodities return to its price last year? on: October 11, 2022, 07:44:50 PM
Inflation rapidly increased this year. Basic food stuffs like egg, oil for cooking, meat, and fish here in our country almost doubled compared to its price last year. I'm wondering if it's possible that the price of commodities will return to its previous years. If so, how or what will cause it to happen. It's just scary to think that our money continues to depreciate over the years. Will there be a time that will come where average earners like me won't be able to afford a basic life anymore.

Experts say that the situation could get even worse in the coming days. I guess in our current situation, it will still take time for every country to recover especially now that even huge countries are suffering. Average earners are now looking for more ways to earn because, to be honest, minimum wagers mostly can't afford to survive because of this inflation crisis. We have no choice but to be braver and find more ways to survive in the long run.
I think inflation is here for good so we can only anticipate that the prices of basic commodities will grow more as the years go by. Though rollbacks of prices might still be possible for some goods but I believe most of them will bound to increase so we should accept and live for it. It’s now up to the people most particularly for average earners to tighten their budget or find more ways to survive through looking for additional means for survival.
1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anderson Silva vs Jake paul who you bet on? on: October 10, 2022, 06:40:50 PM
I'd bet on Jake just because he's the one who initiated this fight and for his previous bouts against MMA legends, he won those with questionable performances from his enemies. Might be the same outcome in here if Silva is motivated only by money, which somewhat shows on some interviews that were done to him. +100 isn't also a bad odd to bet on considering that Jake Paul is also a capable boxer in his own regard. If skills and grit I'd say Silva, but again this is a Paul initiated fight and that should suggest you something.

I would bet otherwise- even if Anderson Silva is at least 45 years old, experience will take you further compared to someone who is relatively new to this sport.

I would also bet  on Anderson Silva as support to him. Even though I think Jake Paul has advantage in this fight due to his youth and some experience on boxing matches.

Anderson Silva is known by many as a legend in UFC. He is a former middleweight champion and his techniques are surprisingly deadly. Though he is against a 25+ year old with more stamina, he can outsmart Jake Paul with his experience and training from all the fights that he'd experience on the field. Not to mention, just one grapple and the fight could be over in an instant.

But the thing is UFC is very different from boxing Silva can't kick, grapple and wrestle in boxing.  So all this advantages can't be used on the ring  Grin.

Of course, this is all situational but if I were to bet my money, I would most likely go all in for Anderson Silva.

Same here I will go all in with Silva.

You guys really don't know that Silva has already fought in the ring numerous times and made a debut as early as May 1998.
You can see it here: https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/152826

Although I also side with Silva because experience speaks the most and even if Jake Paul has been fighting in the ring since then and has more knockout power than Silva, it's still not enough to defeat an experienced veteran who is still nimble and frisky at his age.
1111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 10, 2022, 06:14:29 PM

Spence vs. Crawford happening “Further down the future” says Floyd Mayweather Jr

If you guys remembered, Mayweather Jr. said way back in June or July if I'm not mistaken that he will be the one who will announce first if this fight will go to materialize for real and official. Unfortunately, Mayweather Jr. told the public bad news saying that the Errol Spence Jr vs. Terence Crawford fight won’t happen until "further down the future".

It's now safe for me to assume that this fight will not happen this year. So unfortunate.

I agree with you, I also remember that Floyd Mayweather have actually said that he will be one of the first few people to break the news for the public's knowledge once the deal is already done for sure and according to the article you shared this fight is no longer possible this year because of the issues pertaining to the fight. I couldn't help but to think and bother that there's indeed someone who is pulling the strings behind to delay the fight, and for me this is not about the money anymore, it's more on legacy as both of them are still undefeated up to this point.

It's very weird that Floyd is really involved in this fight. But nevertheless, we already assumed that it won't happen at least this year because the news suddenly went blank again. And we all have our own speculations as to what may be happening and who is stalling this fight.

However, I disagree that the delay is not about money, still it, they are trying to be Floyd, undefeated, but if this is not going to materialized, then they are robbing us fans.

but, has anyone noticed? top bookies such as sportsbet and stake are having the betting lines for their match and listed as nov 30? crawford is somewhat the favourite here over spence. having odds of 1.66 for Crawford and 2.18 for Spence at stake.
anyway, if this is not yet a done deal, bookies can easily remove the betting line for this fight. but usually, bookies will only list the fight if there is confirmation schedule already.

1112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 10, 2022, 05:53:21 PM
......
And I have seen bad rumors about a trade too.
Draymond and Wiseman to Atlanta Hawks for Capela and John Collins
That would be a good move for the Warriors management after the incident. I mean the matter may have been contained for now but I doubt this would be forgotten. It may escalate at a later time so I don't think it's ideal to keep them together.

Draymond may be a valuable asset to the team but he's the most replaceable out of the three core.

A good move to avoid a possible altercation in the future but when it comes to their strength, trading Green doesn't benefit the team because they won't be having a reliable center anymore. Joe Lacob and Bob Myers also spoke about the altercation, they are just considering to give a Green a suspension and not a trade.
The team's best defense is on their offense anyway so anyone who could protect the paint and hustle for the team is a good alternative. OgNasty already said Green doesn't have that same offensive threat so I think Capela is a decent replacement for Green.

I don't expect it to happen before the new season starts. It could be on the next trade window.

I hope they are considering to get Capela next because Green's age is running and the Warriors will be vulnerable in the center without a reliable big man. Aside from that, I heard James Wiseman has returned and played recently in the summer league, they should nurture him as well because his height and skills can be put to use inside the paint.
1113  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to calculate how much the price of BTC? on: October 09, 2022, 11:24:01 PM
You really can't — simply because supply is one thing, but demand is the second major factor whereas you can't really know how much demand an asset has until you see it. Bitcoin can literally be at the 21 million supply cap right now but if not much people are buying it and lots more people are selling, the price will drop regardless if bitcoin already has zero inflation.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/l/law-of-supply-demand.asp
Exactly. You will never know it’s price until you see it with your own two eyes it’s high demand from its users and investors. The higher the demand, the bigger the price, while it’s supply will become lessen. So most probably, you can freely predict its price 5-10 years from now, but you can never tell if you can hit the exact price since the demand varies depending on the crypto market condition. However, I would say that the price of bitcoin will keep on growing and increasing as years pass by, as many people have start to experience bitcoin more than fiat.
1114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: October 07, 2022, 09:14:05 AM
I miss the days when there were also world title fights in the undercards. Legendary Manny Pacquiao for instance used to defend his title while on the undercards like during the Lewis-Tyson fight. Glorious days for boxing. Now it's all about playing safe and money.

Boxers these days are moving like they were the promoters or organizers rather than boxers, they are too attached and more interested to know the money business instead of focusing in making their own legacy to be known in the industry just like the good old days. Probably the reason why almost all known boxers in the industry had built their own promotional company after their professional years.

In my opinion, they already taste the luxurious lifestyle, and they are not willing to go back. That's why even they already retired
they still wanted to continue doing business.

Most are building milking cow I mean discovering new breeds and they will use their name to promote the fighter and make good
amount of money.

On the topic, Less than a month now for this fight, Loma is expecting to come up with another good performance, a startup fight
for his comeback, let see what he got for us.

That is expected because there are indeed lots of perks if you're someone who made so much noise in the boxing industry or any sports industries. We have Golden Boy Promotions, MP Promotions and Mayweather promotions and other known fighters across every combat sport, and of course there will be a lot of fighters who will shelter in the respective promotions because they know that they are in the good hands. Maybe we can see soon some additional promotions after these active fighters will retire.

I also expect that Loma will give a spectacular performance on his fans after being inactive for quite some time, the industry and fans missed him, now that he is again doing some fights, I'm sure that there will be lots of people who will watch this comeback. Apart from that, I'm expecting a win in his favor.
1115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 07, 2022, 08:37:18 AM
Darvin Ham's situation is quite similar to the temporary coach of the Boston Celtics, but the latter is much more difficult because he need to duplicate Ime Udoka's performance or better than that while Darvin Ham's situation is how to get these team full of point guard to work as one while thinking not to overload AD's shoulder so that he could play much longer. There's a chance but coach Ham need to find that key.

I view it the other way around. I see Ham has the more difficult job against Joe Mazzulla. The Celtics is already established and there is not much of changes. He was with them for 3 years thus the players and asst coaches know him. He is already familiar with the plays of Udoka as well. Unless he wants to change and move away from the plays of Udoka, he will have a very comfortable job.

On the other hand, the Laker's seems still to find what direction they are going to. They are amassing PG's as you said but no reliable role players coming from the bench. They will be solely relying on their stars AD and Lebron, and WB (if he can put his game together). Darvin Ham has his work cut out for him.
You certainly got a point that Darvin Ham's situation is much more difficult than Mazzulla's, but I've read somewhere that the latter is not that always active in his past role that's why the Celtics is not that sure that they are in good hands, don't know if it's true but in case it's true, the franchise and its players are in a dilemma.
1116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 07, 2022, 06:45:57 AM
RIP for the guy. Another death for boxing, another day of mourning. What could be possible changes in boxing to avoid future casualties? Boxing is a sport for the warriors though. These guys know that death is always in play once they enter the ring either for a real fight or a sparring session.

I don't think we can avoid it, boxing organization is doing everything they can prior to the fight, test and everything to see how healthy the boxer is. Maybe reducing the rounds again? but it won't be as competitive.

It's inevitable, there will be always some cases like that every once in a while. In the world of combat sports, the risk is always there and safety is not guaranteed, they may try to reduce the risks but they cannot take that factor away. Promoters, organizers, and fighters/boxer know that fact but they still chose to move forward because of the reward that they could get every fight.

Right! That is the word inevitable, these scenarios are always possible to happen in any given fights and the fate will just chose the boxer because that is how the life works. We may get lucky sometimes and there are also sometimes that we are not that lucky, they know that already, but for them the risks are worth it.
1117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 07, 2022, 06:13:22 AM
^ Again, the fight has been hype already and to that point that it seems that our waiting is turning into disappointment because of the time that we have to wait and then we don't know if who is balking or stalling or if they have the contracts but a lot of points to be cleared. Hopefully that talks is still going on secretly as they don't want to preempt to get leak to the media as this is a very important fight in the division, it's a unification fight and I don't remember when it did happen at 147 lbs.

It's been hyped since May this year and I think both camps started talking last June or July, fans have been feeling great and delighted when they knew that the deal is finally finished and both camps are just waiting for the contract but few days later, everything turns to gray as the fight is now back on square one.

Maybe it's much better to leave it as is and just wait for them whenever they are ready because I believe that they are doing anything they can, it's just there are some unexpected problems. There are some rumors that either one of the camps is stalling but sadly, we cannot verify that information.
1118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anderson Silva vs Jake paul who you bet on? on: October 06, 2022, 01:45:30 PM
Still can't wait to see this fight.  Really hoping that Silva is training his ass off right now and ready to TKO Jake Paul when the time comes.

That being said, did you guys see how arguably the greatest fighter to ever live called out Jake Paul and Jake admitted he stood no chance against this fighter and that he wouldn't be entertaining a fight against him?  If not check it out here - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/pwKMB_2a_LA

 Cheesy

Lol! He will eat Jake Paul alive if he will agree to fight the greatest fighter to ever live up to this point, there's no way Jake Paul will win if that fight happens. My money goes for him alone! Anyway, back to the fight, I'm already excited how would they play perform on this fight, will Jake Paul crack Silva in the ring? Or is it the other way around?
1119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 06, 2022, 09:37:33 AM
I think the Lakers is not the organization that develops young guns but just acquires stars that will secure them championships immediately. They are not the type of team that wants to go through rebuilding.

Agree with that, they are a team that can afford to sign superstars, so why would they start with the young guns? They were able to do that with Kobe, he got O'neil, and when O'neil left the team, they got Gasol and Odom. Now that they have Lebron James, they'll make sure that he will be surrounded by great star players and they won't mess up again this season for sure.

Lakers are a big business organization, so they are capable of hiring and signing players and every piece that they are needed
to be there and be a good, competitive team.

Like both of you, we already did it before and they can redo things if they need to do it. We will see if how they will perform
this season if they will come up with good chemistries and good bond together.

With the new head coach, it will be a big challenge for all of them. Fans and critics are all watching with how they will perform.

No doubt, the Los Angeles Lakers is a kind of team who will exhaust its resources just to find that player they needed even if the contract will be expensive, they'll find way. For now, the management will be watching closely if it's time to rebuild the whole team again or anything that will increase their chances in participating the championship round and win it. The team is currently made up of point guards, let's see how would the new coach handle that and the expectation that he needed to meet.

They will surely observe and see how the fans will react to this current roster that they've got. Anything that can create good
impacts on their chance will be discussed for sure.

Not sure if the current squad is good enough and if how the new coach will handle the pressure, especially you've got superstars
that you need to work with.

More on how he will drive the team and how he will earn the respect of each player that will going to play with him.

1120  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If I get heart Attack that is because of BITCOIN on: October 05, 2022, 10:59:23 PM
Hi guys I think I might have heart Attack cause when I buy Bitcoin it goes to lows and when I sell Bitcoin it goes higher and today I sold my all Bitcoin earnings that were 200 dollars and than. BITCOIN starting pumping very hard and that was very very annoying to me. What should I do about this?

Obviously, day trading is not suitable for you, otherwise you will have a heart attack several times a day. You need to focus on long-term investing. In this case, after buying BTC, you need to abstract from the market and only after you hear from the news that the price of bitcoin has reached one million, you will be able to return to the market in order to sell your coins.
I suggest don’t jump on trading quickly if you think you are not yet capable doing it, otherwise you will always do trial and error method.
