1141  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: September 27, 2022, 09:21:09 PM
Money is first and foremost a tool. A tool to achieve goals. The motivating factor will be what you strive to get, and money will help here. I think it's wrong to think that money is a motivating factor. "Chasing" money just for the sake of having it? I think this is a little strange. There is always something "worth" behind the money, the same yacht or lambo. Anything you want to buy with that money.

It’s not the money that motivate us to strive hard, but it’s our goal that keep us pushing through. And when all our goals and dreams will be achieved, then it will bring along decent amount of money that is part of our goal. However, others may have misinterpreted this and stick to getting money as their sole purpose in life, when in fact it’s only a tool that can help us in realizing our goals.

But the fight was shown for free in other markets like Spain and Germany which is how I watched it. Nearly $100 for a fight is ridiculous though, especially for not really a huge one like this.

Yes, $85 US dollars for the new subscribers is quite hilarious for this one, the organizers and PPV are surely taking advantage for the last fight between the rival boxers. It's interesting to watch it and been a good fight so far but the price is not reasonable enough as we already expected what will be the outcome would be like.

And there is no doubt that he is good at it, more than his older brother. He is heavily criticized for getting and fighting washed out fighters from UFC in the boxing ring, well I guess, that's the new trend these days as boxing industry is a business industry as well.

Gotta hand it to you, Jake Paul is frankly better than Logan Paul. The latter don't have any skills at all unlike his younger brother, Jake, who managed to continue in making his name in the league. But the thing is that he'll still criticized again this time because he is again having a fight with a retired UFC future HOF. Although Silva is not that bad in boxing, chances of Jake Paul winning the fight is still higher than the retired UFC fighter.
1143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 26, 2022, 09:40:08 PM
I’m looking forward to seeing how Ben Simmons fits in with Kyrie and KD.

Everyone is so excited about Simmons, Kyrie and KD.
Last season I expected Ben Simmons to play, but he didn't play in any games.
Let's see how it will be this season for the Brooklyn Nets.  I hope they will be champions this year.

Also, Kahwi has started training and his form is very good, and I am very hopeful of him this year.

I wouldn't say excited because he's been a problematic player since he didn't play for the 76ers, instead people are watching how will he perform this season, will he play more games? or will he give problems with the Brooklyn Nets this time?

Simmons is somehow good in the court and his defensive skills can be useful for the team, no doubt about that but I don't think he can boast about that either or be arrogant about that because he still have some work to do to improve his shooting percentage.

Yes, surely everyone is excited to see Kawhi this season as he is now fully healthy and we can see him play again beside PG. Getting him back in the line-up will make the Clippers much more dangerous in the West together with John Wall. Honestly, Clippers played well last season even though they didn't have their superstars playing with them and they their performance is much more better than what the stacked-up Lakers did.
1144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invitation to teach Bitcoin in a school on: September 25, 2022, 11:54:42 PM
I give support to you because of the high initiative to share cryptocurrency knowledge in the school environment, your activity deserves appreciation because you left other jobs to teach "what is cryptocurrency" in school curriculum, they are still productive age to understand the explanation about bitcoin because I believe some they already have a basic understanding of Bitcoin but they need a teacher to help them get to know the world of Cryptocurreny, your presence as a teacher is the solution for them. I'm sure your activities will inspire others to do the same. btw happy birthday to you.
These kids should always be taught with genuine knowledge that they can always apply in the future and bitcoin is not an exception to it. Since bitcoin is here to stay, so these young and innocent minds should always know how to access bitcoin and store them for investments or for payment methods purposes. So good job OP as you can be their inspiration in building more opportunities with bitcoin in the future. Kudos for a good initiative and well job done.
1145  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education seems to have failed in some developing country on: September 25, 2022, 11:20:28 PM
Most people go to school believing that they will get a job after schooling. In most developing country, the rate of unemployment keep increasing every year as graduate are produced every year to the labor market with a decline in rate of job opportunity. Using Nigeria as a case study, over 600,000 graduates are produced every year to the labour market with no job opportunity. This make the rate of unemployment increase every year.

Due to this, most youth believe education as failed them after graduated for years without a job. Alot of graduate are into transportation and other minor stuff that are irrelevant to thier course of study to sustain their living.

Quote
This is seen in a case where some students went back to their school to demand for a payback of all money spent during their schooling period after graduating for years without job.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2022/09/video-drama-as-lautech-graduate-visits-school-to-return-certificate-demand-refund-of-fees/amp/

My question is: Does education guarantee a job.

Answer: No

Being educated means you are trainable i.e you should be able to use your acquired knowledge to creat space for yourself in the labour market even if their isn't any job opportunity. Education will give you some skills that make you different from an illiterate.

CONCLUSION
School gives certificate but doesn't guarantee a job. Education never fails, it's gives knowledge and skills. This knowledge and skills acquired through it brings breakthrough on the long run. Therefore, graduate should think beyond getting a job after schooling but plan on how to utilize the knowledge and skills acquired through their education to create jobs for themselves and others.
Education does not guarantee jobs, but it gives you a lot of opportunities to seize and create an edge over those uneducated and illiterate people around you. Education may not guarantee you the best job that will make your life completely changed and become progressive, but somehow the knowledge and skills you learned from schools will help you overcome the challenges in your life and create a better version of you that will make you an asset in your chosen job or career.
1146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 23, 2022, 06:50:20 PM
Why did nobody said Wolves? I mean nobody expects them to be champions this year for sure, but they got Gobert and he is a good player and that improved Wolves a lot. It gives KAT to actually be power forward as well which he could be very good for and could cook smaller defenders down there, with two giants on the floor at the same time, they could end up with a lot more wins compared to last year.

If we are talking about teams that improved the most, then Wolves could be the best one, doesn't mean they will be improving to an amazing level, but from tanking to playoffs or thereabouts would be an amazing improvement for any team to have in a single off-season.

Well, how can I say this, I think it's quite safe to say that there may be only a handful of people here in this forum who believe or expect that the Minnesota Timberwolves will the champion this season. Wolves might have improved but they aren't the only team in the league who improved so much in the recent season, and they should acquire more experience to be able to reach at least Conference Finals.
1147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 23, 2022, 06:14:50 PM
I think I like the idea though of the winner getting the bigger slice on the rematch. And I think it will favor Crawford to some extend, yes he will be getting like 40%, like what we have been saying. But if he won the first fight and the rematch clause was automatically activated, then it will be the other way now. Crawford getting at least the 60% now, the biggest purse. Although again, if this for us is very easy to understand, then why not their legal counsel translate it in paper so that they can sign it right away.

Crawford for now is not caring about his slice. He just wanted to push the fight and will be after that whole thing after
the first match takes place. If he wins, then expect a much better slice and much bigger demands.

It will be great for the boxing community once the final date for the upcoming fight will be announced as it's really
been waited a long time ago.

The delays are keeping the fans hanging in the air, still waiting for any result of the negotiations coming from both
camps.

I also believe that, Crawford knows that Spence will always ask for a bigger slice, and Crawford is okay with that as long as the share is reasonable. One big win here will make him at the top, so it will be him dictating the terms on their next fight, Crawford has to prove that he is better than Spence, end of the story.

Crawford probably know that already because he can't be in the A-side as Spence has 3 belts in his possession and the latter is also the one who can make more PPV-buys than Crawford. Anyway, if Crawford will win, Spence won't have any power to ask that he will be having the same slice because it was already written in their contract that they will gonna sign soon that the winner will have the bigger slice and I believe won't have much choice about that because he is the who got defeated and the one who needed to settle the score.
1148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 22, 2022, 07:53:35 PM
So this might be the same, Butler chances are very slim to pull an upset. For sure Inoue is already looking for the future and could move to the next weight class after getting the belt from Butler because he has clean this division already.

Naoya Inoue is even capable of moving up to Featherweight now. He can destroy those mid-ranks.

This fight is a formal way for Naoya Inoue to become the undisputed champion in the Bantamweight.

Featherweight champions might be waiting for Inoue or if anything else, they hoped the Monster won't moved up weight.

Well, there's indeed no reason for him to stay at the bantamweight anymore after this fight because he already secured all the belts in his possession, he could choose and climb between super-bantam or featherweight division if he wanted to and unify the existing belts there. I bet the fighters there will be much challenging for the current Inoue.
1149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: September 22, 2022, 06:30:34 PM
Have you ever had an experience betting in which you knew that you were going over the limits of you finances and still continued? I have one playing a game, it was absorbing plenty of my time and despite me knowing it, I was kind of hooked on it. It was not a financial problem, but left me wondering how easy is to actually fall into a bad habit and how difficult is to break it.

Been there, done that. I've had some instances like that in the past when I'm still struggling to hold my patience and limit for the game, I know that I've spent over my limits, but I cannot break it easily because I was thinking that I need to gather it back or at least take half what I've lost. Eventually, it leads me to more losses and never got it back. As they say, regrets always comes last.
1150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 22, 2022, 06:02:51 PM
Well, the Brooklyn Nets and LA Lakers will still have the spotlight this time just like the last season because their current situation. People will surely watch if the Nets will be the same after all what KD have put them through and how will Simmons behave as well as Irving. While the Lakers has been watched on how will the new head coach work them off to stay in synch. Staying healthy is the least of their problems.

Both Lakers and Nets can be a dangerous team if the coaches will find a way to keep them organized in one harmonious rhythm, the respective players of each team can be deadly if they wanted to, but the catch is they need to move as one team and that's what they are struggling the most. It's still a mystery that people wanted to find out how will they perform this upcoming season as both teams failed to reach great depths in the recent season.
1151  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can all (or most) cryptocurrencies rise and fall at the same time? on: September 21, 2022, 09:52:26 PM
The price and, ultimately, the charts on any given exchange are determined by the price of the most recent transaction. How can the prices of 100s of cryptos all move in the same direction at the same time?
Because all the coins in the crypto market are just dependent on whatever the price of bitcoin will be. Bitcoin is the driving factor in crypto, so whatever it’s price will create a huge impact on the rest of the coins. If bitcoin is bullish, most likely the whole market will be lively and bullish too. Same goes when bitcoin is bearish, the whole market will sympathize and end up being low priced too.
1152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: September 21, 2022, 07:18:55 PM
Alright, is my understanding is correct here?

If Zurdo Ramirez will win the fight here, is he will be the one that Canelo will now faced?

Correct me if I'm wrong as it seems it's not sense to have a rematch with Bivol if he will lose here.

I think that's not the case, because for now, Canelo only wanted to settle his score against Bivol as the latter was the one who scathed his record for the 2nd time. Also, it really depends on the situation, Canelo have the choice whether he wanted to activate that rematch clause in their contract or not and if by chance Bivol will get defeated against Ramirez, Canelo might lose that interest.

But I definitely don't think that their camp will pursue Zurdo if in case he will be declared as a winner because that doesn't make sense at all, how would they defeat Zurdo if their Golden Boy, Canelo, is already struggling against Bivol because that's just pure suicide for Canelo. Anyway, as I said, it depends on Canelo and his camp on how they will deal with the card they have.
1153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Choices: Gamble or Help the poor ? on: September 21, 2022, 06:43:57 PM
In order to understand the psychology of gamblers, i have decided to come up few questions for discussions, and here is the first one.

Suppose that you are a responsible gambler who have allocated a certain portion of money to gamble each month. Now you came across a poor person/family who is in urgent need of money. Will you quit the gambling for that month and give the allocated money to the poor family or will you prefer to gamble as you can't live without gambling ?

Well, it usually depends on people if they have the heart or conscience to give something for the poor especially if that allocated money is just for gambling purposes and not for the things that are somewhat more important. I won't talk about other people as I don't really know what's their take on this but for me, I'd help that person or family that I will come across because I know the feeling if you have nothing and can't even put proper food on the table for your family to eat as much as 3x a day, and as a responsible gambler, I bet I can still live for days without engaging myself in gambling activities as long as I know that money that I allocated was spent for someone who is more needed.
1154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 21, 2022, 04:16:08 PM
Biggest news in the NBA today… LeBron has finally decided to go bald. No more crazy headband and hair plugs. I think this can only be a good thing for him. I’m expecting Bald Bron to go hard this year, as his championship window is rapidly closing. I’m glad his hairline won’t be a distraction any more. It seemed like that was taking up more of his time than it should have been.

Lol, but yes, that hairline though, it become a internet meme years ago and yeah, I would say that somewhat it become a distraction. So him going bald might signify that he will go hard for this year to forget last season's performance by the Lakers.

As for Kawhi, he could be just ready as anyone and I'm thinking that he can comeback like KD. As if he didn't go to their worst injuries. And I don't know about this load management that the coaches are doing, if players wanted to play they let them.

Ya, besides the Bald LeBron picture, that photo going around showing Kawhi’s legs also went viral. You can tell he’s been putting in work and definitely not skipping leg day. There’s a photoshopped image going around that makes his legs look insane, but even the unedited photo is shocking. He definitely looks like he wants to come back and put in some work.
ROFL.
Bro, that was hilarious.  Grin
There are two possibilities of what may happen to Lebron James.
1. He will be stronger because he won't think about whatever hair is left.
2. He will be weaker just like Samson after Delilah cut his hair.  Grin

The Kawhi Leonard legs. I recently saw it on social media and it went viral. Damn those thighs are enormous. I wish those kinds of upgrades will help him avoid leg injuries.

LOL! I saw his new look too, he's gone completely bald while he maintained his beard. Although I think that this is just his routine every off-season or before the season will commence just like how he looked few years back, but his hair might be the least of his priorities once the new season started. I'm starting to think that Kevin Durant may follow this too, just joking Cheesy

Regarding Kawhi's gigantic legs, I really hope so too that it will help him avoid injuries this time and those legs might be a sign that he will go beast mode anytime in the center grabbing rebounds offensively and defensively.
1155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is always one step behind the competition on: September 20, 2022, 11:36:38 PM
Ethereum was first to have smart contracts afaik — being early advantage, and community matters a lot in valuing a coin. Just look at doge.

Ethereum has already established its own smart network before these new arising competitors have shown up. The reason that even Ethereum has its own flaws, people will never lost their trust in it because it has already been built through the years. And knowing the fact that all these new competitors are only clones from Ethereum, so they will never get the full trust from its own users.
1156  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need some advice on: September 20, 2022, 11:11:49 PM
I need some thoughts about this group I've joined a week a go. They are giving free signals for trading and I actually start earning since day 1. Are there really group like this? or Am I on the right trading group. We trade in Batex anf U-koala.
They just want you to trust them and make more capital to put on but never think it was sustainable and they will help you forever for you might be surprised that one day, all of your money will gone because of following their (wrong) signals. If I were you, never fully trust these groups, as they don't have the intention to help you to continue earning profit from them instead, all they need is for you to get into their trap and make money from you.
Instead of following these signal groups, better find a way to learn actually trading as this will give you more.
That should be the best thing to do instead of completely giving your trust to them and in the end, it’s you that will be taken advantage. Do not fear if you trade often with losses at first because that is the nature in trading. You will eventually learn from your mistakes and by that time, you will start correcting them and build your own strategies in trading that will make you find sustainable profits from trading.
1157  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach 45k before this year ends. on: September 20, 2022, 09:47:02 PM
Again, no predictions were RIGHT. So, yeah you gotta believe on your own prediction and market analysis rather than the others.
There were a lot of so called financial experts who's sharing their sentiments and predictions, some have believed them, but no they are always wrong eventually.
After all of the shared bearish and bullish predictions on the internet, they are all after profits and they are sharing these thoughts for their all personal gains.

Actually nobody do accept general prediction, because it's very hard before can release information that will make another person to be profitable. What i do expect people to do is that they supposed to know that prediction of bitcoin price has failed us in different times, so we should believe on personal understanding of the chart we do use to observe when the price of bitcoin is increasing or falling because depending on numerous fake prediction will mislead many of us.
In this market with full of uncertainties, no one is expected to hit the target or to end up with 100% certainty when it comes to price prediction. All we have are just pure guesses and speculations from our own insights or points of view. And with this very challenging bitcoin, all I can say is that whatever it’s price these days will never be the same after tomorrow. Just stay optimistic as we don’t even know what bitcoin has store for us in the next months and years.
1158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's faceless identity is the greatest Bitcoin success strategy on: September 20, 2022, 09:11:40 PM
Not only his/her/their face, but the fact that we don't know for sure what Satoshi's political views are and who Satoshi's preferred presidential candidate is and all that. All we know is that Satoshi thinks we needed uncensorable money separate from the state, and that's it.
No one has come to know Satoshi personally and I think that’s also good so that he’ll remain uncertain to everyone, and that no one gets the chance of ruining his own positive motive for bitcoin. Let’s just leave it there, the most important is his invention was successful and we are now starting to experience right now the freedom from the state when it comes to managing our own finances.
1159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason Why People(Mostly Newbies) Fall Victim To Scams Easily. on: September 19, 2022, 09:55:08 PM
Too much greed is an unhealthy mindset and most of them ( I think the majority) had fallen to losing ends.
 - too much greed
 - knowledge
 - experience

These are the most probable cause that newbies or some people become a victim of scam projects. And this was the reason also why people had changed and growing as they learn a lot from their bad or worse experiences that open their eyes and see the reality of the market.
greed will become a ticking time bomb and this will have a detrimental effect. Greed doesn't matter whether someone is a beginner or not, some of those who are already professionals are also caught up in greed. This is indeed an unhealthy mindset and requires self-introspection so that it does not become a trait that continues to emerge.
Aside from greed, lack of knowledge and experience will also be great factors for you to end up in scams easily. Since you want to explore the whole crypto market and it’s different opportunities, then maybe the reason why some become blinded with the huge offers and fail to trace the red flags that scams are very capable to.
1160  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does anyone think it will be much harder to buy bitcoin later on down the road? on: September 18, 2022, 11:39:19 PM
Just wanted everyone's thoughts on how easy it is to get bitcoin now, and what getting bitcoin might be like in the future? For example, I can simply go on cashapp and buy btc, send to a wallet I own the keys to. I can also use localbitcoins, paxful, I mean the list is kinda endless. Will that list become...not so endless in the future as the value gets higher?

Why should this happen? If we are talking about ongoing bitcoin adoption, then on the contrary, bitcoin should be available to as many people as possible and in as many services as possible. If the global adoption continues, there will be more ATMs in different cities, more stores accepting bitcoin, and more online services where you can buy or sell bitcoin. What is the point of complicating the purchase of bitcoin? In the future, this list, on the contrary, will only increase, and this is logical from the point of view of the development of the entire crypto industry.
I guess that’s what all global adoption means, to create more opportunities for buying and selling bitcoin easier and faster. Otherwise, if there will be complications in accessing bitcoin in the future, then we should not pursue our main goal for bitcoin global adoption in the first place.
