1121  Economy / Economics / Re: Reasons you will remain broke as an adult on: October 05, 2022, 09:59:45 PM
Indeed what you say is true, but the fact is that when we are brought to life with the real world not just theory we clearly have other mistakes again and again and actually to change this is obviously very difficult so that poor people remain like that because regardless of some the point you say is still when the opportunity does not exist then everything will still be the same as before.
If indeed getting rich can be done by changing the points you say, of course now no one is poor anymore is not it.
In life, there are always struggles and unpredictable circumstances that we may encounter. But that is life and it’s really tough and hard. But if we always take chances to learn from all of them, for sure it will help us to face life ahead with more courage and confidence. And while we started being poor, then the more that we should exert more effort to change the life we have. We might not end up getting rich as we cannot get the same opportunities from others, but at least we can experience much better life than before.
1122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That's why I really like bitcoin :) on: October 05, 2022, 09:09:22 PM
There is nothing to dislike about Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a very popular currency around the world Soon Bitcoin will launch its own transaction in every world With the way people are getting interested in Bitcoin, we can see the better position of Bitcoin in the last few years. And an investment currency good enough to invest in That's why everyone loves Bitcoin.
Well, to be honest, sometimes I get annoyed with how bitcoin price changes suddenly. Like you if you have plan to sell some of your bitcoin because you want to spend for a very important reason, and then it’s price suddenly fall, you will end up feeling disappointed. But now, I get used to it. Instead of hating it’s volatility, I learned to accept it and get used to it and just buy instead when there are opportunities to buy more.
1123  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purchased at $23,500, when should I start to panic? When should I average down? on: October 05, 2022, 07:46:50 PM
23500 as a buying price isn't a price to panic. Think about this, what can be worst price Bitcoin can drop? That's mainly I think 15000 or maybe like 11-12000 and its extreme low. So max you will lose is gonna be %50. If you wanna cut losses you can, especially around 14-15k levels so you wouldn't lose that much. But if you can wait in patience it will return back to 40k price levels in near future.
If you know how volatile bitcoin from the start, then you should never end up panicking because even if its price suddenly drops, it will always manage to recover in due time. That's how bitcoin works. And since the market is still in bearish season these days, then always expect that bitcoin price will have more chances for decline, but never see it as a threat or whatsoever, but learn to take advantage in buying more bitcoin as soon you see opportunity to buy.
1124  Other / Off-topic / Re: Life lessons from Bill gates and how it could make you a successful entrepreneur on: October 04, 2022, 10:57:14 PM
CONCLUSION
Nothing good come easy. It involves great work with passion. Your decision on what to become in life can drive you towards achieving your dreams. It may take some time to rationally get from where you are to where you want to be but you will definitely be there one day. Just take make a move, start something, be focus and see how success will drive you towards your dream.

It's always nice to read tips and strategies from billionaires, from their mouth it always sounds so easy. Like focus on your dreams, never give up and you will eventually make it. Don't get me wrong, all his points are valid and we can learn from them. But there are also factors that we can't control ourselves, for example luck and how much support we can get from our family. It makes a huge difference if you start from 0 or if you know successful people through your family who can support you with starting financing. Having access to a network through your parents is not only about seed money, but also important contacts. Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg or Elon Musk, they all didn't start from 0.
That could be a sad reality that if you started with nothing, no big contacts, having no big influencers around, and even no family support, you will really find it hard to succeed in the end. However, this will not determine what will your future may be. Yes, it’s hard and tough at the beginning, but if you always have great motivation within yourself and you have your own set goal to achieve, I know in the long run the hard and rough road will become smooth and easy for you to achieve.
1125  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's alright to lose and learn on: October 04, 2022, 09:37:38 PM
4. No shame in starting from scratch: using myself as an example I am starting fresh and going back to the very basics and I am not ashamed to admit that. The good news is that I am better experienced and more mature.
You should have started from the basics when you first began your journey. Knowledge is the first thing you gain when planning an investment, before you consider putting in your money.

With the current situation, you're not starting from the scratch, you're restarting now, with a bit of experience.
Many of the high ranked members here, might have made one or two mistakes during the start of their Bitcoin journey, and have learnt valuable lessons along the way.
Every successful investor has its own humble beginning, and it’s not a shame that they mostly started from a scratch. And for sure, mistakes and losses are very possible these days. However, with OP, even if he is already restarting already, the good thing is he never resort into quitting. That’s the attitude we need in crypto, we should always move forward despite from all mistakes done and not move backward. That way, you will grow as an investor, that will help you throughout your valuable journey in crypto.
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: October 04, 2022, 07:35:59 PM
Neither market sentiment is more important. Both are good opportunities for you though. You can buy cheap coins in a bear market & you can take profits in a bull market. We still have 4 year cycles in bitcoin now so you will have to be patient.

It’s impossible to time the exact bottom & exact top but anybody can tell when sentiment changes. Buy when low, sell when high. It doesn’t take a genius.
Both are important really as we cannot reap and harvest good amount of profits if we never bought early when it’s still in bear market. Also, it’s useless to buy and store our bitcoin when we never intend to sell our coins when the price is high or when bull market is around. So both market conditions should be relevant and compliment with each other.
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 03, 2022, 05:23:46 PM
I think the Lakers is not the organization that develops young guns but just acquires stars that will secure them championships immediately. They are not the type of team that wants to go through rebuilding.

Agree with that, they are a team that can afford to sign superstars, so why would they start with the young guns? They were able to do that with Kobe, he got O'neil, and when O'neil left the team, they got Gasol and Odom. Now that they have Lebron James, they'll make sure that he will be surrounded by great star players and they won't mess up again this season for sure.

Lakers are a big business organization, so they are capable of hiring and signing players and every piece that they are needed
to be there and be a good, competitive team.

Like both of you, we already did it before and they can redo things if they need to do it. We will see if how they will perform
this season if they will come up with good chemistries and good bond together.

With the new head coach, it will be a big challenge for all of them. Fans and critics are all watching with how they will perform.

No doubt, the Los Angeles Lakers is a kind of team who will exhaust its resources just to find that player they needed even if the contract will be expensive, they'll find way. For now, the management will be watching closely if it's time to rebuild the whole team again or anything that will increase their chances in participating the championship round and win it. The team is currently made up of point guards, let's see how would the new coach handle that and the expectation that he needed to meet.
1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anderson Silva vs Jake paul who you bet on? on: October 03, 2022, 04:58:52 PM
I go with Anderson Silva on this one.  I wanted him to give Jake Paul the taste of his first defeat.

I don't know if this is gonna be scripted not in this fight but if the fight is in equal no favor then Silva has the advantage for my opinion because as a legend he plays very well good punches and counter punch he already master and based on their performance but in this fight ill also bet for make Paul which is in practical life he will win for sure. And also the awaited fight is almost come for sure both fighters prepared it well.
There is a possibility that the fight will be scripted so let's just hope that they don't do that.  Anderson Silva is the underdog here, even if he has lots of experience on MMA, boxing is a different sports.  It is more tiring because of heavier gloves and attack is limited because a boxer can't use anything to attack except his punches which is very different from MMA where a fighter has the freedom to use everything in his arsenal as long as it is legal.

I'd love to see Anderson Silva knock down Jake Paul but this is an obvious win for the Paul Brothers production. Anyway, it's just entertainment, I am not sure if they will give their all here. Even in the press conference that happened there's no spark at all. It's too peaceful. You will have the kind of idea that it will be scripted. Betting, I will be wise to bet for Paul even if it's not much profitable.
I wish this will not be a game that will bring down the reputation of Silva before he fully retires.

I would love to see that, Paul being knockout by the legend. But I don't think that Anderson Silva has the power though. So my vote goes to Jake Paul winning this fight in the scorecard and hopefully there is no setup or the fight not being rigged. Silva won against a boxer the last time, so this might be a good fight and the fight going into the judges again.

Jake Paul has too much respect for Anderson Silva that there are not spark or trash talking in the press conference. And easy money for both, as fans will be interested on how this fight will end.

Same here, I like to see Anderson Silva knocking out Jake Paul.  Let us hope it happens to show Jake Paul not to take advantage of aged and washed up fighters.

We may sound like Jake Paul's haters but I would like to see that view too, getting knocked out by a retired MMA is not a view we can often see and Jake can also call that as an honor to get defeated by a legend Grin Let's see what will be the effect on Jake Paul's mental health after he'll taste his first defeat.

Although as speculated in the other discussion, there's indeed a high chance that this fight might be scripted as Silva and Jake Paul might had a pact beforehand and just aiming to get money from the fight. I might be wrong but chances are chances, we never know.
1129  Economy / Economics / Re: Business failure among small-scale entrepreneurs on: October 02, 2022, 11:12:39 PM
I agree that there is a good reason why we can't really understand what could happen for us to fail, but we need to realize one huge and important thing, which is debt. Most of the companies that you see end up working towards the fine line between bankrupting and success, because they spend everything they get to grow, and that causes companies to be always in trouble, one big mistake and you are done because you can't pay for that mistake without getting paid and if it's a mistake you can't get paid.

Even Tesla and Amazon had this, they had plenty of times when it looked like they would fail, and instead they ended up working out but it was very close for both of them at times.
When you started a business from a debt, its hard to expect initial success from it because all you will prioritize is to pay the debt first  and after that, that's the time you can completely focus to make your business grow. Sad to say, even big entrepreneurs engaged in debt, some have managed to secure finances more than paying their debt while others end up in bankcruptcy due to unable to secure profits and unable to pay their debt.
1130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 30, 2022, 05:53:09 PM

Best guess is that both camps are already training because their forecasted date is approaching fast, they only have less than 2 months left to prepare and train. Maybe that's the same reason why they are so silent these days after we received an information that they've already reached a deal.

They will only train if the fight is already official, there's no reason for them to train hard with their team if there's no announcement yet, unless they know it's going to happen and promoters are just waiting for the right time to announce, what I'm saying is, if they start training for nothing, they will just be wasting money.

But this fighters are elite, and they have to stay in shape even at off season. And this is the secret of some of the best of them like Floyd and Manny or even Hopkins during his prime. This boxers keeps themselves in around their fighting weight by maybe doing some like trainings at home. Floyd and Manny loves to play basketball.

And so when the official fight is announced, they will just shift gears and focus 100% on the training itself. So they are not wasting money, they've just trying to get the edge.

The word is already out, we are just waiting for their final approach to make this official. They are aiming for November, it's already safe to say that both camps have already started their respective trainings even if there's no official announcement yet. They are the ones who know the real deal and they won't be wasting this far if a fight between Spence and Crawford is impossible this year, especially the latter. I don't think that Crawford will wait and settle until Spence is ready because he will be inactive for a year this coming November too.

And I agree, even if the fight is not yet settled, training is already part of their routine to keep and maintain their shape especially in times like this that there's only little time left to prepare. This is an undisputed fight, we already know that both fights will really come prepared.
1131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 30, 2022, 04:04:19 PM
.....

Any news on Jordan Clarkson though? I thought he is on the trading block after the Jazzz let go of Mitchell and they are rebuilding from ground up.
I only read about the interest from the Bucks and the potential return to the Lakers but I really have no idea to be honest. Maybe the Jazz will just offer him an extension so they could still have someone that will help them to compete and not plunge to the bottom of the table.

I think the Lakers are pretty full at the PG position and seem to be sticking with Westbrook. I was under the impression that Clarkson would have been the piece in any deal to get the Lakers picks and take Russ’ contract. Russell said today that he wants to go for the MVP this year, so maybe he’s feeling better this year… I’m not so sure MVP is in the cards for him ever again.

Yes, Lakers are quite packed already and it's safe to say that they are now on the table drawing some plans for the coming season and thinking what to do to their roster that is full of PG. At first I know they considering to get Clarkson but the Jazz is taking their time to choose the right package because the future of the franchise depends on it. Also, it seems that Clarkson trade have cooled down recently, maybe there's a sudden change of heart.

For Westbrook, he need to do the talk instead of making some statements that will put him in the spotlight if in case he'll mess up again. He needed to forget first that he's not the main alpha because his main role is to support the duo and make an opening for them.
1132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: September 30, 2022, 03:30:21 PM

Really? Didn't heard that Loma was actually making some excuse on why he lost that fight, I respect Loma because of what he is and he is viewed as big brother in lightweight division but he should know to give credits too because Lopez did good from that fight. He may have injury that time or not, Lopez still won the fight and that can't be changed no matter what the excuse is.

Indeed, the impact will remain the same. He wins that fight and the memories will be there. No need for any excuses, they are just all pro and continue to move forward and chase for another opportunities in proving their skills and become a champion again. There's always room for improvement and with proper trainings and good promoters, this fighter's name will continue to be hype.

Especially Loma, after this fight if he will win, which most expect him to do that.

He will have more money fights to come, and who knows a challenge with the belt holder will be the next target of his camp.

If he wanted to have an excuse, then he could have cancel the fight and re schedule it for a later date when his shoulder is healthy. So maybe he just wanted to push for the fight and hope that he will win. But Lopez was really condition and that there's no where that he can beat a boxer like Teo.

And so he move on, and now making another comeback that will bring his name in the division and hopefully if he wins here, the champion is going to wait for him, (either Devin Haney or George Kambosos, his original opponent).

Even if Loma's excuse is true, it doesn't change the result and he will just get embarrassed because of that excuse. Instead of getting some sympathy or whatever his goal is, he should just move on and give Teo Lopez some credits because he put up a good fight. Nonetheless, this is a different fight and he won't get his revenge now because Teo has already moved to the next division.

Soon enough, I know he can face Haney or Kambosos because his chances to win here is big enough to consider that he will be likely declared as a winner this coming October 29. Jamaine Ortiz is good based on the paper and I hope he can give Loma a good fight.
1133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: September 29, 2022, 11:00:05 PM
Personally I think all of the jake Paul fights are staged. Go back and watch, it looks to me like his opponents are really holding back. There is a world of difference between athletic guys and champions. Jake Paul doesn't belong in there with the top guys. Just my opinion though. One thing I do like is that some mma guys that didn't really get paid during their mma careers are getting some big paydays from a glorified workout with Paul. Can't complain about that. And if people like this stuff, and want to be entertained, I have nothing against that either. If I was to bet, I would bet on Paul to win, because I think that is the predetermined outcome, but, I can see Silva accidentally pooping him one and getting the ko, so I don't think I will actually bet on the event.

Of course, what do you expect from this kind of fights? this is all for fun and money grab for them, specially for high level former fighters. But the hype they are putting prior to the fight though that makes other believed that they really wanted to take each other heads off. But when the bell rings, they are holding it back and not giving their 100% on the fight. And when the winner was announced, it could be a draw and everyone was so frustrated with the decision specially if you have a bet on it. So it's better to stay away from actually betting on this kind of exhibition fights.

Yet people did not learn from these mistakes, they still bet hoping that this time will be different and there will be a winner that will be announced. It's really hard to see winners and losers from a fight that is participated by two famous fighters, even Jake Paul admitted that he's a fan and respects Anderson Silva ever since Jake's was still a kid. So that's already a sign that these two are only fighting for the money and the fight will result into a draw, I could be wrong, but the chances are not worth the risk.
1134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you change your mind on gambling ? on: September 29, 2022, 10:37:26 PM
Actually gambling is illegal before. People is just too eager to gamble that’s why they are very hard to stop which force the government to create a law to properly regulate them and charge tax at the same time. I believe people will still find a way to gamble even government will prohibit people to use it. Personally if the punishment will be prison I believe I will behave myself because I’m not that compulsive gambler.

It usually depends on how deep our situation is when it comes to gambling, but let's say that the new government suddenly prohibits any form of gambling, of course as a citizen we will abide law that has been newly established. Furthermore, I don't believe that this kind of law will exist any longer because they cannot control all the people and they won't use precious resources just to spy people and know if they are gambling or not. Sooner or later, the government will be forced to make it legal again and just take advantage of the big revenues to improve the economy, just like what other country are doing.
1135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 29, 2022, 09:45:34 PM
I have read news that the Celtics players were caught off guard about Ime Udoka's case. Majority of them found the news in twitter like Jayson Tatum and so they are confused.

And then they are talking about how excited they are to come back this new season to do it all over again and duplicate what they have accomplished - go to the finals. But it seems that the players are affected by it and they are taking about the 'process', as they will be coach by Joe Mazzulla.

Well, they have no choice but to accept the reality, no more Udoka this season and probably the succeeding seasons as well, but they have a job to do, it's an unfinish job, they reach the NBA finals, it's time for them to win this time.

There's plenty of time to make the adjustment, the current coach is the assistant, so I'm pretty sure he is very much aware of the system and he just need to implement it, we were impressed by Udoka's performance last season, but he made a big mistake, so he has to face the consequences.

I also believe that assistant coach can work it out since he was there when they play the entire last season, adjustment wise they
don't have a lot unless the new coach has a new approach.

But to my understanding, Brad Stevens will be there for them. He knows how to deal with this and even the new head coach will
takeover. The final decision will still need to work with him.

Boston almost made it, just a step away to win a title, but GSW is really inspired not willing to give it up yet.

There is a reason why the assistant coach is just an interim head coach, the team and management probably know that it's not Mazzulla's time yet to become a permanent head coach for years. The franchise is still searching for an experienced coach who will fill Udoka's spot and bring the team to the Finals again and much better if win the championship. For now, they don't have a choice but to work things out while the whole team is still on the process of fixing the issues and figuring what's next.

Anyway, as you guys said above, they still have plenty of time to work things out and they can also use the regular season to make some experiment just like what they did last season.
1136  Economy / Speculation / Re: Suppose Bitcoin Price start to rise in 6 week to $30,000 -will you buy or sell ? on: September 28, 2022, 11:14:39 PM
$30k is not a good area because it’s actually major resistance. It’s where the last support was, tested many times and broke. If it reaches that area most likely many will sell.

However what matters is what happens after. If it slices it like butter. Similar to the old $6K support in 2019, then it’s confirmation that we hit the low and will go up from here.
Well, there's nothing wrong if someone decides to sell even for small profits, what is a big mistake is that someone sell at a loss. However, for me $30k or $40k is not tempting, so i would rather hold my bitcoin for more years and only sell it at a more profitable and convenient price. In the end, we should always decide what's best for our own investments.

This is very inspiring and i hope more newbies will exert effort on learning knowledge in the forum so that they will be able to relay useful information to other people. Good job, OP.
1138  Economy / Economics / Re: Age as a factor depreciating some people of their dreams on: September 28, 2022, 07:41:30 PM
Don't let age be an obstacle in achieving your dream. It's not to late. Neglect your age and let passion move you towards achieving your desired dreams.

It should rather be that we must not let people dictate us from doing what we want to do because environment also contributes to the factor for some people to not achieve their dreams. The pressure from the people around them to do this or that and just follow the norm of the society makes them forget what they really want. By the time they realize their mistake, they already have too many responsibilities to take care in life.
It’s not bad to consider other people’s opinions and ideas but in the end, you should still have the final decision. However, age and the environment are big factors that could contribute to one person’s success or failure. That is why we should always be cautious from choosing which decisions to make so that there will be no regrets in the future. And for that, the lesson we gained from our past experiences could be very helpful in determining our future success.
1139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what point do you sell your Bitcoin forever, OR wait to buy back later ??? on: September 27, 2022, 11:53:06 PM
3.   Would you never sell, no matter what is happening in the crypto world, and ride Bitcoin down to the bottom ??
I do take profit when really needed, but to say that I will sell all my Bitcoin because of the fear that it might go down to bottom? I wont do that. Because I dont want to have regrets again (just like before) for not holding my Bitcoin and was tempted to sell way too early. Who would have thought the price will skyrocket? If you're afraid for the worse case that can happen then you're free to quit. But for investors who are used to this kind of situation, they know what's the best thing to do, and that is fill their bags and ignore those spreading FUD.
I guess selling some of your assets even with bitcoin is not a mistake, as long as you never consumed them all at once  and have left some bitcoin for future profits. That is even wiser I think, taking profits from time to time. However, when the market is consistently bearish, then there’s no reason to sell but to take chances and every opportunity to buy more bitcoin as it’s low and affordable price. For how long this bearish market will stay, I really don’t know but one thing is certain, I will never quit from bitcoin knowing it will always give us profit satisfaction in due time.
1140  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin, Not for everyone. on: September 27, 2022, 11:25:40 PM
The price of bitcoin rose again to around $ 19300, of course not everyone can buy at a price of 1 BTC at this time, at this time I have a cryptocurrencies (bitcoin and altcoins) asset equivalent to $ 6500 or only 1/3 of the Bitcoin value, and to get 1 BTC then I have to work for about 3 years.
I guess that's okay because it's a process everyone must undergo. I'm sure if the altcoin season comes back and many of your altcoins can rise high and even give you big profits, your assets in the form of bitcoin or stable coins will increase. And if the current bitcoin price is still below, you can immediately buy bitcoin and there is a possibility you can buy more than 1 bitcoin. So whatever the bitcoin price, you can try to keep accumulating more and more satoshi from now on.
Right. Buying bitcoin at its expensive price will always be a struggle for those who have low income or profits from other investments. The reason why we should always wait for bitcoin price decline as it’s a good opportunity to maximize buying at its cheaper price. However, owning bitcoin will never be compulsory, but if you believe in its high potentials that will bring significance in the future, then it’s better to own it at this early time.
