1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 08, 2022, 06:11:20 PM
as this type of boxing match is still selling tickets, the promoters behind this activity will continue to take advantage of this situation. but would be nice if they are setting-up good exhibition matches and not just because of clear intentions of pocketing the money from the boxing community. from time to time, we need entertainment. but should at least worth our pennies. and not just pulled out from somewhere, where the "boxers" themselves are not ready to rumble inside the ring.

There's a risk too on the side of promoters as they should organize an exhibition match that is really living the hype.

They can't just form a match randomly just because they want it. I do agree that there will be more people that will still support exhibition matches as long as those fighters involved are worthy to watch.

A fight between a famous one against a non-popular one can also do the trick. I don't know but money is really flowing at exhibition matches.

I've been asking myself the same question, like why are exhibition matches so hyped these days? People already know that the fight is somehow scripted but they still want to pay good money to watch the fight in person or live in their respective homes.

Maybe because the people have missed seeing the good veteran fighters fighting again that once built their names in their primes or maybe there is another reason why but yes, exhibition fights are also a good way to get good money these days as long as you're popular.
1182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 08, 2022, 05:48:36 PM
So we are just few weeks before this fight happens and lets see if Canelo's fans wont be disappointed or into those GGG fans. Cool

Time flies so fast. I didn't realize that it was only about a matter of over a week and we will now witness this fight.

Excited here to watch the fight live. Let's get this on!

More importantly, want to see GGG beating the crap of Canelo to end their chapter.

Time flies so fast indeed and just a week more to go before we can finally witness their trilogy next weekend Grin

I bet there are so many people globally who are rooting for GGG's win here except of course for the Mexicans as they are supporting Canelo, and I'm sure that GGG has prepared very well for this fight because at last he now has the chance to get some revenge after all the issues and loss he endured in this chapter.
1183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: September 08, 2022, 05:00:29 PM
Ramirez has a slight advantage in height, although it might be just the shoes that he is wearing.

Even if Ramirez is taller, I think Bivol can offset it with his hand speed and his great footwork.

For reference: Bivol @ 6 ft | Ramirez @ 6'2 ft

Not that much. I refer to some of Bivol's previous opponents and I saw he was once against a 6'3 ft and he won.

Although we can't compare the strengths of each of their previous opponents, we can conclude that height shouldn't be an advantage or disadvantage in this fight between Dmitry Bivol and Zurdo Ramirez. But on the humor side, possibly that Ramirez's shoes make him so much taller in that pic lol.

If only Ramirez will take advantage of his height and reach against Bivol. But then again, Bivol has a good ring IQ so it may have even it up or Bivol will have the slight advantage because of his footwork.

We cannot really know for sure because Ramirez is also an experienced boxer professionally and already fought boxers in his size in 3 different divisions so I think that will give him some good ring IQ somehow too. I'm not pro-Zurdo either but we can't really underestimate him and Bivol should be more careful this time, and expect that Zurdo will use his advantages.
1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 08, 2022, 04:34:01 PM
For now, let's just wait for some final announcements as I heard that they are already nearing the end of their discussion and just prepping the undercard fights to maximize the revenue.

That specific update was I think released last month or about 2 weeks ago and I've heard they are looking forward to making the fight happen somewhere in October or November, so I reckon that by the end of this month they can already announce the final details to make the fight happen in the same month when they envisioned it. Also, to at least give the people some time to prepare everything prior to the fight date and of course some final preparations for both camps.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2022, 04:03:49 PM
I think OKC already has a plan on Chet on how to buffed him up in preparation for this season.  But his freak accident is something that no one see, the kid just want to play basketball before the actual NBA season but it happens. So a big lesson for him, but again, no one is to blame. So we should wait for the Griddy - Holgrem tandem. As obviously it will be delayed until next season.

They should have, and they should be ready for anyone who would be injured as injury could happen anytime. OKC is still a young team, there's not much expectation from them, so the fans will understand. Anyway, I think Chet is still young, he can still recover and start a new season strong.

Expectation change and many of their fans hope that they will be in better position when Chet added to their team. But unfortunately he got injured for the whole season so for sure those hope has been changed to doubt since their current rooster is not title contender as we know they are a young team. Chet is young but he needs to improve his body because if he remain thin for sure he might be bullied by strong players on NBA.

The OKC surely didn't see that coming for their newly drafted player as well as Chet himself, but they can't do about it anymore as it already happened, so what they can do for now is to let Chet rest for a while like for a whole season if that is needed and focus on what's left in the roster because the training camp is now near. It's just sad to hear that kind of news but again, we can't do anything about that.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which crypto has the highest potential?? on: September 07, 2022, 08:28:04 PM
Here is  the top 10 Cryptos with the highest potential to grow, can you suggest which is the game changer in 2023??

None. In 2023, the market will still be experiencing the effects of the crypto-winter that reigns through 2022. I'm not sure we can talk about any growth potential at all before bitcoin halves. The crypto industry needs to recover from serious price losses and it's not happening as quickly as we'd like. Maybe in 2023 some new big player will appear among altcoins, which will partially change the rules of the game, because bitcoin and ethereum will still remain on their previous positions.
No one really knows when the market will start to recover, and maybe this long term bear market will still be happening the following year and will continue to affect the crypto prices. However, if I’m gonna chose from OP’s list of potential coins, I’d still go for ethereum since it’s also as essential and influential like bitcoin. And if bitcoin price surges, then ethereum price too will definitely follow the path of bitcoin.
1187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bull Run and Bear Market on: September 06, 2022, 11:05:36 PM
This is a common question and the answer is the same no one can say. To know about it you should follow the previous chart. You can see after every bear market there was a bull trend. So it is a long time since we are in a bear market although we are expecting a bull market, I don't think it's going to happen very soon. Most of us know that because of the world's economy is collapsing day by day due to various reasons. So we cannot say when the market will recover. I have seen some people predicting the market would go down.
This question might be easy to say yet very hard to answer since no one knows precisely as to when bear market ends and bull run starts. But one thing is certain, the moment the bear market ends, then it will pave way to start with a bullish market. And hopefully, we will witness another bullish market soon that brings new ATH for bitcoin, but as long as there are world economic issues that continue to ruin and affect the progress of every market, then it’s impossible to see bullish market this year.
1188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Awareness of scam on social media will help reduce scam on: September 06, 2022, 09:45:49 PM
In my opinion i don't see how social media can help to reduce scam, only people can help to reduce scam by informing other people how scammers work, all social media applications cannot upload awareness of scam on their app, social media applications are platforms for networking, people meet new people and strangers on social media, so there is no way they can now work against themselves by warning people not to network with one another.

It goes without saying that people should know offers that are too good to be true, and they should think twice before falling victims to scam, i don't feel we can hold any platform responsible for the rise in scam, even here in bitcointalk that's a bitcoin forum, it is the community that make up the forum that warns others about scam and scammers and not bitcointalk itself.
The only way that we can reduce scamming in all aspects is being educated and informed about scams, and knowing the investments well before you fall as another scammer’s victim. The social media is not responsible to make us aware, since we are all responsible of our own actions. But somehow, through social media, we get to learn and discover that this certain investment is another trap to fall us as victims.
1189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some say Bitcoin is dead but Bitcoin is not dead on: September 06, 2022, 08:49:16 PM
Bitcoin is Dead?
Better read this up https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-obituaries/
Bitcoin has died 461 times

But look at on where we now?
It do still stood strong despite of different market conditions and situations.
Lots had made out some negative sentiment but still we do able to hold out.
Feel sorry for those who had panic sell and good for those who accumulate cheap.
It does depend on how you do treat up and decide of these things.
I guess every time the market becomes bearish, speculations starts to arise about bitcoin is dead, so it’s like the people are already used to hear it. Well, the truth is if bitcoin is dead, then we won’t see any price increase for bitcoin anymore, and because of that the altcoins market will bound to shut down too. But mate, this is not what happening in the market now. Bitcoin still continue to grow despite of its flaws, and established altcoins follow the path of bitcoin too. Bitcoin is very alive and kicking up to these days.
1190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stressful crypto market on: September 05, 2022, 11:02:46 PM
Previously, many people could not buy BTC for the reason that it was expensive and the amount was small. Is this already on the verge of Dropping Deadline???
You only said that because the market is currently facing a bear market condition and that crypto prices are affected. But mate what you see is just temporary and when the market turns bullish, bitcoin price will be very high and will definitely reach a new all time high if there are consistent price increase. Thus everything in the crypto market will be very much interesting because bullish season also means huge amount of profits for us, particularly for long term bitcoin investors.
1191  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [Take advantage of crypto volatility] bear or bull market on: September 05, 2022, 09:44:58 PM
You should have also emphasized on the ugly side of trading too. When a newbie reads you story, they might think trading is as easy as A, B, C and D. You may have made those attractive looking profits but through hurdles of losses

So much as we should take advantage of volatility, we should also have it in mind that it can take advantage us and blow away our accounts if proper risk management is not done.
There's always two sides of the story, and as a reader you should be able to distinguish the positive and negative sides. When you trade, its not always profits but also you have to be more open for inevitable losses. Otherwise, you will fall believing that trading is good and suitable for everyone since everyone can make easy profits even without skills and strategies developed.
1192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto business isn't for everyone on: September 04, 2022, 11:08:24 PM
Sadly, those whom such warnings concern don't listen to them. The #1 reason why people lose in trading is because they believe they are special, gifted, have talent for trading, have luck and so on. Typically it happens when they make some money in a bull market, simply because all coins are growing. Then the bear market comes and instead of cashing out they double down on looking for profit to compensate for some unrealized gains, and in the process they lose everything.
Well I assumed those who take the risk to enter the crypto business have really high confidence in their selves believing that they would make the best of profits when trading or investing. But that is not the case as trading or investing have also their own right timing to make profits, their best entry and best exit. And sadly, they  always think that crypto will always move upward because of the bull market, not realizing that it’s also has its own flaws and make the prices fall back.
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are people doing except holding Bitcoin? on: September 04, 2022, 09:38:20 PM
Surely, my list isn’t complete. You can always add a comment and present more facts.
There's one you didn't add about what people are doing with bitcoins asides just hodling, people who gamble online on casinos that do no have a direct funding option via their fiat bank account, fund their account via crypto using their bitcoins to fund their online casino accounts so they can continue gambling there.
True. Rich people also gamble with their bitcoins because it’s now the trend these days if you are playing in crypto casinos online. So aside from investment, bitcoin too is also profitable when used in gambling. But knowing that bitcoin value will still go far and has the chances to make it to its all time high, then I prefer to hold bitcoin and benefit huge profits in the future.
1194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 02, 2022, 09:50:37 AM

Watching some Pat Bev's interview and it's a good one, his relationship with Lebron, his defense with Westbrook and others. You can check it out here, interesting as he is now a Lakers and what he can add and bring to the table for the team.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbhjNlH35E8

Hopefully, he can be a reason to change the tide of the Laker's destiny since they were in a drought for the last two years due to some injuries and not winning enough games. The dude might not be a star player but can really contribute with the defense because he knows what his role is and he can boost the Laker's defense when he is on the court. It might be not the same years when the Lakers were dominating the league but still, with the star players on their rosters the chance is still high even though they still fixing their game chemistry.

Going back again to the narrative on their last championship, they have guys like Caruso and KCP that can play defense. Last year, it was all veteran but there's none of a defense that Caruso offer when he was with the Lakers. And perhaps this is the reason why they get the services of Pat Bev to be the anchor in their defense because we've seen him play that hard when he was with the Wolves. Yes he might not be the super star but he can still contribute on other facets of the game. So he will be a big boost for the Lakers this season. Maybe he will be task to shutdown players like CP3, Booker or even Luka and of course Steph Curry in the West alone.

And Pat Beverly knows his roles once he starts practicing and playing for the lakers, he doesn't need to contribute

in terms of offense, I mean not a task for him to score, but if possible or he has an open look, why not? He can shoot a ball
and he can go straight to the basket.

But the main goal is for him to bring the defense high, additional entertainment for the fans and who knows, maybe he's the
lucky pick by the lakers for this new season.

This time the Lakers have chosen the right man for the job because Pat Beverly knows how to shoot and his defensive capabilities are more excellent if we were going to compare him to Westbrook that's why the Lakers acquired him.

Anyway, the remaining thing to see is if he is indeed the right remaining piece of the puzzle that the team needed in their system.
1195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 02, 2022, 09:27:31 AM
The rematch will happen if they are after the money and grant the wish of the fans, regardless of who will win the fight, it's still interesting to see a rematch. I guess let's focus first of the possibility or a chance that this fight will become into reality, and we can talk about a rematch later.

The fight is being the wish of the fans for a long and this fight is likely will generate a big money but still, there are lots of hindrances to making this fight official. It means the possibility of a rematch will have the same status. Definitely, the winner of this fight will now finally move to 154 lbs because that was their respective goal. Crawford will move up if this fight won't materialize while Spence is willing to move up too even not having a fight with Crawford.

See the picture here? They don't bother with each other if this won't really happen.

Going back to the fight, this fight will happen by high chance based on the last article I posted here from a good and reliable source.

I'm hoping it will because it will disappoint us that after we got hyped it will still not gonna happen. At least before they move up in weight, they should give us the fight that we want to see, what's the reason for not fighting each other, for sure not a money problem as you've mentioned they'll make a lot of money here, the only hindrance is they are not real warriors, they are afraid to lose.

I'm also looking forward that this undisputed fight can happen this year but I think we are just going to be disappointed for waiting for this fight all this time, Spence's camp should give some update too because Spence's image is getting ugly as people thinks that he is the reason why this fight hasn't materialized yet.

True, for the fans, its seems that Spence is stalling the fight, he even had a back up plan already to move to 154 lbs and face his buddy Charlo for 154 lbs. And he keeps saying that he doesn't need Crawford because his legacy has been cemented already but for us boxing fans it's not that case. You have to face the best in your division and see how is the best. So it will be a big question in his legacy if he is not going to face Crawford at 147 lbs and for the unification.

That's right! Spence saying that he already have some back-up if this fight won't happen is bad news for the fans that have been waiting for this fight and that will scathe his image more in the public because it will be clear that he is trying to avoid Crawford at this point. Spence Jr. is good that's why people are excited but he got some doubts that he can't take down the current Crawford, and now, he is starting to look like Mayweather because like Mayweather he waited for Pacquiao to get more older before pursuing a fight.
1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: September 02, 2022, 09:06:08 AM
Here is the image of the face-off in Abu Dhabi:

https://www.boxingscene.com/photos-dmitry-bivol-gilberto-ramirez-face-off-night-abu-dhabi--168759

Ramirez has a slight advantage in height, although it might be just the shoes that he is wearing.

Even if Ramirez is taller, I think Bivol can offset it with his hand speed and his great footwork.

Regardless, least see if Bivol can continue his reign and make a huge follow up on his win against Canelo.

Ramirez is indeed taller than Bivol by about 6-7 cm and he also has the reach advantage against the latter but I think that wouldn't be much of an issue here because the gap is just small, Bivol is an experienced fighter too like Ramirez and I bet he got some techniques on how to handle these kinds of situation.

This fight is exciting to see because this is another huge feat that Bivol must go through and survive in-order to fight against Beterbiev next, but I reckon it wouldn't be that easy because Ramirez got skills too and has more experience professionally.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 01, 2022, 06:49:20 PM
When will people stop speculation on GGG age? Canelo is not a young boy too. Stop turning this fight in to old vs young, as it is about experience vs experience. Professional athletes age is something different. Some athletes retire at the age of 30, some are feeling great at 50+. We are comparing GGG age from our regular body/age point of view. A lot of people at 40 now have back pain, their knees hurt, hard to go to 5th floor by stairs. GGG has been training for entire life. He has trainers, diet and etc. He is not like many, spending whole day hunched over behind pc, or spends whole day on sofa with beer and chips. if someone think he is slow and has bad reflexes already, then I suggest that man to go to boxing gym, to and old trainer and try to punch him. That old man will easily dodge and throw few bombs into your face.

I agree with your thoughts, but most of the time, we can't really take that away in any sports, sooner or later Father time will caught up on anyone, no exceptions. Of course Canelo is also not that young, he just started early same with GGG. It's that GGG decided to stay at 160 lbs his favorite weight and become one of the most successful middleweight and he could be in the discussion for the GOAT on that division. So as the saying goes, boxer is good in their last fight, so we will see if GGG can still maintain even at age 40 and have the strategy to beat Canelo hopefully in the trilogy.

GGG has waited long enough for this fight and I reckon that he won't back down easily without trying hard to settle his score against Canelo Alvarez, if it wasn't for Canelo's contract, this trilogy wouldn't be possible. Fortunately, Canelo was left with no other choice because if he won't sign the said deal, then he won't get a chance to fight for a title fight in light-heavy.

Anyway, I'm quite sure that GGG prepared well for this fight because he knows that Canelo is also a good boxer and he knows the latter's weaknesses as they already fought twice.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 01, 2022, 06:28:10 PM
Jake Paul has announced his next opponent is Anderson Silva. I think Jake might have but off a little more than he can chew this time. Sure, Silva is damn near 50 years old, but he’s got power that Jake hasn’t seen before. I like this fight. I’d rather have seen him fight Andrew Tate, but this was unexpected and a nice surprise.
He still have a power, but I think it's unlikely we might see Jake will lost here.

Silva has nothing to lose here, he doesn't have a clean record, he wouldn't mind to get one or more losses due to his old ages. As we can see after he's already 38 years old, almost all of his result only keep losing, he only won once from 9 fought. Another thing he's a MMA fighter, his strength mainly on kick, not punch.

I just take this fight for entertain only and obviously I will bet Paul if the odds isn't really low, we're know Paul will win lol.

Of course, Jake Paul will be the one with the widest smile after the fight because of the victory he could get from this fight but this won't gather him any hype at all because Silva is not already in his A-game and we can't really expect that Silva can defeat Jake Paul. Also, I'm thinking that Jake Paul is just testing the water if this fight will be profitable for both sides especially for him as he will garner the most revenue.

You make money, not "generate" money. By getting a job, starting a business, getting gigs, learning a certain trade, and the like.

The only way to truly "generate" money is if you're Jerome Powell from the federal reserve.
True. Find good means either through investing or landing a stable job, that way you can make decent amount of money. And also develop your skills and strategies in crypto trading, you will also be profitable later on. As long as you seize every good opportunity that comes, making money is not hard at all.
