1301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hyosun America will enable Bitcoin purchases in over 175 ATMs across the United on: July 19, 2022, 08:36:53 PM
Yeah, the common problem is the high fees upon purchasing Bitcoin ATM machines and another one is it requires your personal data before you can purchase Bitcoin.  For now, there are 34398 Bitcoin ATMs in the USA, so I think it's beneficial for them and they know it will truly generate profit by having a huge fee.

This will really help to boost the Bitcoin price and at the same time it will increase the awareness of Bitcoin, there are already a large number of Bitcoin ATMs in the USA and I think there is too much competition out there regarding Bitcoin ATMs and it could be lowering the transaction fee would be one of the strategies might they will use.

It's good news indeed.
While bitcoin ATMs have been very huge in the United States, what we have here in the local countries are likely the opposite, maybe below 10 i guess. But anyways, this information is a very good news for all bitcoin enthusiasts as its giving us more chances to buy and sell a range of cryptocurrencies. Although it could be that its more expensive than just going in exchanges, but the convenience knowing the machine is already in front of you will always be effortless for us.
1302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Roller coasters!!! on: July 19, 2022, 07:53:55 PM
The market is very volatile in this month like a roller coaster movement, Is the roller coaster movement in the money market both the price of bitcoin & ethereum whale controlling it?

what's happening now IMO the impact of global economic conditions has resulted in the collapse of the crypto market, so if the whales have control over the current downturn it's very small they don't have enough power to manipulate it all the time. The collapse of global markets and the global economic situation prompted many people to stop their activities in any investment and choose cash options. The downturn in the crypto market will continue even deeper especially if more bad news comes out.
That's always expected to happen if there will be no positive news that could influence the market to move upward. We will witness more price downturn but this is not only happening in the crypto market, but certainly in all types of market as the global economic conditions have worsen. However, big whales have nothing to do with this. Although they can create some sudden moves in the crypto market, but they can't manipulate the whole situation happening in the market right now.
1303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You have not lost a dime if your Bitcoin is in your wallet on: July 18, 2022, 11:24:53 PM
No matter what happens, 1 BTC is always going to be 1 BTC regardless of its value. Same as gold, though its price may decrease on the market, it does not change the fact that you still have that piece of precious non-renewable metal at your disposal.

Some people complain that whenever BTC prices decreases, they tend to impulsively sold majority of their BTCs to at least alleviate the damage. But they are missing one important aspect- which is its volatility and inflationary value. HODL is definitely the key if a person wants to maximize their investment value.
Some people resort to stop loss and sell their bitcoin if they think they have been losing too much. Of course that’s applicable to altcoins but never in bitcoin because bitcoin always bounce back its price when the market recovers. The only key not to lose is through hodling. Although it’s the most common thing in the crypto market, but it’s always the best option if you aim for exceptional and huge profits after long term hodling.
1304  Economy / Speculation / Re: Have we reached a bottom price for BTC? on: July 18, 2022, 08:40:59 PM
Bitcoin seems to be struggling to get past $20k - $21k over the past days. There's a possibility it could go further down the drain due to the worsening of the global economy. Some say BTC will go all the way down to $15k within a matter of months, while others say BTC will be worth less than $10k soon. The market is extremely unpredictable right now, so it's hard to tell if BTC has reached the bottom, or if there's still room for a further downtrend in price. I'd be surprised if BTC continues to fall down in price all the way to $8k and below. Our only hope would be the next BTC halving and a swift recovery of the global economy.

What do you think? Has BTC reached the bottom? Will you buy more regardless of BTC's current market price? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley
Bitcoin has shown more positive increase these past few days but i don't think the bear market will be over soon. If these price increase will only fall as a trap, then we will witness more of price downtrend in the market. However, even if bitcoin price drops consistently, no one would determine precisely the bottom price of btc even the pros in the market. The market is always unpredictable, and so bitcoin is.
1305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Age of bitcoiners on: July 17, 2022, 09:49:54 PM
I'm sure the result will be 31-35, 35-40 years of age will get the maximum votes. The same is being recorded in the thread where the voting is done for average age of bitcoiners. This time we can see a good number of youngsters, which means the freshers/beginners with few years of experience in a job. Because during the pandemic these people got into cryptocurrency and now they make a good contribution.
I have to agree with you. These age range are most likely the individuals that who go extra mile and take investments since working alone do not bring big changes in their lives. This was also my age range when i started here, since our mindset is now more open and would likely to get out from our comfort zones and try taking investments. Although there are also beginners that have entered into bitcoining at an early ages, maybe because they have been influenced by some early adopters here, aside from the pandemic that still leaves a huge impact these days.
1306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 15, 2022, 01:00:17 PM
Seems everyone is hating on Teofimo Lopez hehehe, I'm not surprised though, arrogant and even if he lost to George Kambosos, he and his father thinks he win that fight.

And I would agree that this is a cherry pick fight made by Top Rank, no question about it, picking a fighter that Lopez might score a win by a knock out, if not show us his talent again. Still one month to go and for sure we gonna see Sr talk about his son and then bad mouth Campa.

Agreed this is most likely just some kind of warm up after a quite long hiatus, and just to make Lopez get his confidence back. I would say that if Lopez is at his best Campa would not be in his level, but after a couple of quite serious surgery and a break, this match could be worth to watch.

Looks like we are underestimating Pedro Campa here.

This guy has a decent record, 34-1
https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/578516

While Teofimo Lopez has 16-1 record,
https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/776269

So It's very obvious that Campa has more experience here and I think Lopez hype is already gone after he lose to Kambasos Jr.

Yeah, the hype is gone, he only became popular when he beats Lomachenko, but after his first loss, I don't know if he can recover again. He had few fights but some of the fights are quality fights, against the best in the division, so let's see if he will succeed in the new division.

The outcome of this fight will tell his future in this division.

He is still young, if he really is a great fighter, he surely have learned a lesson from his past defeat, so he will be smarter in this fight and will not use emotion too much which would only destroy his game plan. IMO, he could have won his previous fight if he was patient, what happened is he underestimated Kambasos, that's why he lose focus as he want to end the fight righ away.

1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 15, 2022, 11:41:15 AM
This is really hard for GGG if it ends up the decision. Canelo will be aggressive here since he thinks GGG is not that capable anymore to defend his punches. He will try to score more points and will attempt to knock down GGG to make it clear that he is the winner at all of their fights.

Canelo is also known to be judge friendly if you know what I mean. The venue is also the same venue where Canelo won against GGG.

I believed GGG will upset Canelo here. I like Canelo to lose here as he's now becoming arrogant because of his achievement. I'm even happy he loses against Bivol.
I believe that GGG is good Boxing team and they have some critical knowledge which is help them to go ahead to winning. on the other hand Canelo is also a Strong team They also have a keen interest in winning. In my opinion i think GGG can win or this tournament will Drow. Because both team is strong and Here both will try hard to win
Both are great fighters, it's just that only one will win in every fight, but the most interesting fight of these two is that it's a close fight and we call it a controversial fight since not everyone are convince that Canelo really won the last fight. So we have the trilogy, it will end up the speculation, whoever wins this fight deserved some respect.
Again though, we might have to give respect to Canelo if he fought GGG or give him the trilogy and not waited for it to happen in 2022 where GGG is already 40 years old. And the first two fights are really controversial, and then there are already speculation that if this fight goes into the judges score card again just like it's two past fight, maybe GGG will get the unfavorable treatment once more.
Canelo knows he could not easily beat GGG that's why the trilogy got delayed, and it's a blessing for us that he lose against Bivol as that opened a way to make this trilogy happen. So for the last time, hopefully GGG could bring Canelo down so no more bias judging after the fight.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 15, 2022, 11:28:47 AM
Magnolia vs Meralco, this is a great game, both are tied in the standing I guess, so let's see who will win.

I am leaning on the Magnolia because of their good defense and more consistent than Magnolia.
It's still a close game, those who like to bet on the game live, it's your chance to do it now.

Magnolia had a good lead in the first half but Meralco came back in the 3rd quarter, they are already tied now, and I like to believe that Meralco has a great chance of winning here, LOL. I actually took the 3.2 ML during the half for Meralco to win.

edit : we are going to OT

>>>>>>>>>>> don't know who will be the favorite because they are almost equal in terms of skills in boxing.

https://www.oddscritic.com/sports-betting-news/crawford-vs-spence-odds-date-tv-details/
Quote
Crawford is now a slight betting favorite at -125 (bet $125 to win $100) while Crawford is available at +100 (bet $100 to win $110). The draw – always a possibility given boxing’s history of crazy scorecards and politics – is +1800.
I'm not sure if these odds are real, but since the fight is not official yet, then we cannot consider these odds as real ones.
However, this would give us a picture on what people think about this fight, if Crawford is the favorite, then be it, anyway it's just a slight favorite.

1313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 13, 2022, 11:55:24 AM
But we will see if he still has it, of course by his age, he is no longer in his prime. But maybe he can still perform as expected and beat Ioka. It might be a slim chance, but with no Filipino champion right now, maybe that will motivate him to and give everything for his country.

Thinking the same. Nietes carry a lot of responsibility on his shoulder now especially since we don't have any world champion now. He will revenge Magsayo's loss but on the way thru claiming another world title for the Phillipines. But this time, it's really hard to do it as he's now at the retirement point of his career and Ioka will fight him in front of his Japanese supporters.

I hope Nietes will upset Ioka on his home and bring the Philippines again to the list of having a world champion.

Let's just cross our fingers and hope for the best for Nietes in his fight tomorrow. That's one tough hill to climb but like I've said in my previous post when Nietes' back is on the wall and everybody thinks that he would lose, he would rise to the occasion and surprise everyone many times and hope tomorrow he will deliver one more time, it would be the sweetest not only for him but to all the Filipino fans of this sweet science.

Odds are already out but only the ML but nevertheless it is still an attractive one if we are for Nietes.

The odd for Nietes is now @ 4.90 ML. That's very tempting if you can spare some amount. He already beat him before

and with a good scout with how Ioka fights previously, the chance for Nietes to win is still doable. It's a matter of doing everything

he can to take Ioka again, though for sure there are lots of changes as the young fighter already made his way to this level

and he also has a good scout to analyze how he can beat Nietes in his own crowd.

What is happening here? I thought Nietes have won their previous fight, so he should not be underestimated like that.

Well, I'm tempted already, I'm taking the ML as I'm sure Nietes will give a fight, and who knows he might win again.
Home court advantage, it doesn't matter to me.
1314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Reasons why there's an Increasing Crypto Scam Rate on: July 12, 2022, 11:07:43 PM
Is there actually any any solid evidence to suggest that crypto scams are increasing ?
It may be that they are reported more as crypto becomes more main stream?
That's just it! I believe the reason for such isn't far fetched too because it's the attitude of giving a dog a bad name just to hang it. There's so much bad press on cryptocurrency and the proponents of such are trying to run it down by making sure every little negativity of crypto doesn't go undetected.

Come to think of it, OP missed the most important thing that triggers scammers when it comes to cryptos and that's greed. Scammers like where the profit is.
That’s it. People not only get scammed because they are misinformed, most have turn out to be greedy and that gives the scammers the hint to make them as the target. And since most who came to enter into crypto investments and the like are greedy and would only want for quick profits, then scammers jobs have turn out to be easier because the people are already giving them intentions to be scam and be taken advantage.
1315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most of us have lived a world of USD dominance, but history changes on: July 12, 2022, 10:29:10 PM
It would be nice if you’d have laid out some of your reasons for having such a high belief in this. I’m not so sure it’ll ever happen. My personal beliefs are that it’ll always be a sidekick in some sort of way to fiat currency for some time until it takes a turn and gets over some major flaws/issues like expense , transaction totals and speed, which are taking time to build.
With regards to how the government react to bitcoin and how the people respond to bitcoin, I would also say it’s unlikely to happen for now, but if there will be positive changes in the future, then bitcoin will be realized as a potential global currency. But I don’t easily believe that fiat or USD will lose its value and will be useless in the financial system. Bitcoin may have its own turn, but definitely not for now.
1316  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The cryptocurrency market is currently a hot spot for whales. on: July 12, 2022, 09:39:05 PM
It will be more easy for whales to manipulate the market now than when it was bull. The market volume might not reduce much but the price of Bitcoin is low now, and it means the whales have much power now to manipulate the market.

But the at this stage of bitcoin price, everyone can actually benefit from it. Just buy bitcoin and hold for long and the activities of the whales will not affect you.
Well, on the other hand, if you don't want to get affected with whales, then do act as one. Everyone can be a whale and be wise and smart in decision making. And just like a whale, always aim for the best opportunities in the market as its going to create massive profits in the future. The current market condition is always the best time to invest, and a lot of whales have been waiting for the weak hands to sell their coins so they can buy them at its most affordable price.
1317  Economy / Economics / Re: How Will Investing Help the Economy of a Country on: July 12, 2022, 08:45:33 PM
Even though the government is not getting taxes from cryptocurrency investment, if their people are into it and grab all the crypto opportunities, it will have a positive impact on the economy. It will reduce the number of unemployment and the economy will grow because of people who are earning enough from crypto investment. If people are earning and making money from an investment, it will have a positive impact on the government since they're taking taxes from them individually through the necessities that they consume.
You're correct, but the truth in real life isn't entirely right. Most people who want to buy cryptocurrency is mostly a educated people or middle-high class where they're know the advantages and reason to invest, while the middle or lower class will only have money to buy food or daily life, they don't have so much money left for investment since it's used for emergency funds. So it doesn't reduce of unemployment, actually someone can offer services or skills and get paid in fiat, not need always in Bitcoin.
That's the fact in real life, the rich and educated people will always grow their investments and become richer, while those poor individuals always struggle to survive and still end up being poorer. Although bitcoin investment has a lot of potentials to create positive changes in an individual's life, but only rich people are aware of that, and they are the only one who can afford to invest in bitcoin or in any other type of investments. Most of the poor people are less educated, and they are even deprived of life's opportunities, the reason why it's hard for them to improve their way of living. However, if most of the rich people will offer jobs to those jobless ones, i think unemployment will somehow be reduced.
1318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for a crypto that won't depend on BTC anymore on: July 11, 2022, 11:31:45 PM
The majority of investors and traders are increasingly understanding crypto fundamentals before investing, is there any crypto that moves itself according to its fundamentals both now and in the future?
There is none.

All of the cryptos today will and always be dependent to BTC. But at least for the stable coins, they're all pegged to dollars if that's what you mean.

Well, as for that actual coin that won't be going along with bitcoin. There is really no type of coin that does that.
The crypto market only revolves on the future of bitcoin, the rest are just insignificant to the crypto market. So if you want to invest in coins that don’t depend on bitcoin, then expect none. Invest in USD if you want to be free from the shadows of bitcoin, but never expect for huge profits that only bitcoin is able to. As long as it dominates the market, bitcoin will always determine the future of the coins in the crypto market.
1319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption In El Salvador Seems To Be Failing on: July 11, 2022, 08:59:02 PM
It is normal to see falling in bear market but bear market is for builders.

El Salvador can fail but let's wait for a next few years, at least 2 or 3 more years, then we can say they fail or succeed. They have a degen President who loves Bitcoin, has strong belief in Bitcoin and try to build up lot of things in their country with Bitcoin.

Anyway, bear market does not support them but if it can not kill them, they will return stronger in next bull market. If they are still building in this bear market.

Bear markets are for building
Well, most of our investments are failing these days seeing the market is highly bearish. But hey, this won't take forever so we have all the time to recover from this and see them grow once the market start to recovers too. El Salvador may just put on risk since they really bought huge amount of bitcoin, but we can't blame Bukele because he has the greatest passion with bitcoin, that most of us don't have. And when its time for bull run and bitcoin reaches its new ATH, then El Salvador will be the one to lead in gaining massive profits.
1320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency does not offer equal opportunity to the visually impaired. on: July 10, 2022, 09:48:48 PM
We usually prioritize how keeping our keys safe and personal is crucial for the safety of our coins, but how can the visually impaired keep safe something that they cannot see. The entire thought of it is very disheartening that it may even be discouraging for any of such a person if after managing to agree to be a part of crypto, they now hear that they may never be able to secure their crypto. What can we suggest to these individuals (the visually impaired) who have an interest in bitcoins and crypto so that they don't loose interest?  Have you met any visually impaired individual in crypto, how do they manage to go about with it?
I guess it's very hard to secure and keep safe his investments if the investor alone is visually impaired. Our eyes are our the biggest asset to help us see things clearly so that we can refrain from doing such mistakes. However, if an investor has its own disability, i guess that won't be a total hindrance not to invest and earn crypto. What is the use of our family?  They are there to help us and aid us in everything we want to do and achieve. It only takes a trusted member so we can still pursue our crypto dreams and succeed in it.
