1021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: *El Salvador To Start Purchasing Bitcoin Everyday* on: November 18, 2022, 06:04:46 PM
Shouldn't really be a big deal. They're pretty much just moving from buying dips, to sort of like dollar-cost averaging(obviously not exactly DCA, but slightly similar). Which they should've done in the first place instead of trying to timing prices.
Yes, its not a big deal anymore as El Salvador has been buying a lot of bitcoin already even when the market is still not in dip. So if they will start accumulating more bitcoin these days, i think that will be a lot better because they can certainly increase their purchase that will be a lot more advantageous when the market suddenly turns bullish. When everyone else in the crypto market will celebrate, for sure El Salvador is on top on it.
1022  Economy / Economics / Re: Can our work be turned into a full-time investment? on: November 17, 2022, 09:58:12 PM
Under the current situation, many companies are facing bankruptcy or layoffs at any time, and we do not know what we will face tomorrow.
Do we need to switch our jobs to online jobs or a full-time investment in cryptocurrency? If you were fired by the company, would you still find a job you love as quickly as possible?Or you might choose to relax your mind and look for work again after a while.
Do you have better advice for work?
It’s risky to switch into full time investments the moment you lose your job. The first and foremost thing to do, is look for another job to replace your lost job. That is the best thing to do if you want to make secured and consistent profits. Although relaxing for a while is good because it will bring revitalization, but it’s not highly advisable if you are the breadwinner in your family as every minute is precious.
1023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lottery's defense to not paying a huge winning. on: November 17, 2022, 08:55:05 PM
They will surely lose the trust of their players if they continue what they do even though the player won fairly and they didn't even provide any proof of what they say about irregularities that will prove that the player is cheating on their company to win huge amount. If they can't provide then they are making excuses so that they won't be able to pay the winnings and I am sure they will be exposed sooner or later that the lottery company is a shady one.
If they will continue to accuse irregularities on the part of the winner, once the court proven that the winner deserves the prize, then surely the company will be in a big trouble as they will come to ruin their own reputation because of their irresponsible behavior. I guess companies like this will never succeed in the end, they might win in some cases but that won’t be happening the rest of the days.
1024  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never depend on cryptocurrency as your only source of income. on: November 17, 2022, 07:41:17 PM
You really cant have trading in general as your only source of income if you're quite new to the game. On the other hand, if you're good enough to run a hedge fund or a trading firm (which is like sub 1% of all of us here), it can definitely be a great sole source of income.

Also, don't totally rely on signature campaigns as well.
Relying on cryptocurrency as a whole whether it’s for investments or for signature campaigns as well, definitely it brings a lot of risks since you can’t  predict what will be the future of crypto, there are times when we come to see it rising and there are instances too that the market is eventually falling. And even with signature campaigns, you can’t predict as how the campaign will last so to have security on our income, have a good and stable job other from cryptocurrency.
1025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing $350,000 because of a friend, what would you do? on: November 16, 2022, 10:31:04 PM
He particularly chose Black 15 for $10K on roulette which he could have won $350,000 but a friend took the $10K and replace a safer bet. I know this is likely not to happen in real life. But let's say it did. What would you do?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT4GcK6Dpkk
I was trying to look for Kevin Hart movies on Netflix so I found one. Turns out one scene is an unsatisfying win.
If ever this is happening in reality, then I have to call the attention of the manager and tell him about the event. But this will not happen actually because no one gets to move our chips unless if we let that person too. What is actually happening in a movie may not be applicable in reality, so never make it a problem OP as it’s never be allowed to happen in real casinos.
1026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want sell my house for bitcoin on: November 16, 2022, 09:40:08 PM
Do you think it's good that I sold the house then I buy bitcoin with all the money?
because in my own calculations, my house value didn't increase in date year by year. the value is still stagnan, it's different when compare it with bitcoin, I will got 3 house when I sold my house then buy bitcoin with that money in 2018 and sold it again on ATH november 2021.

(I have 2 house, which I want sell it is abandoned house)
Definitely not a good decision as you might lose your money in the end by chasing for more profits with bitcoin. You can always make money with your house regardless of the season by renting it, unlike bitcoin that it’s hard to see good profits particularly when the market is in a deep bearish. So never make rush decision this time to avoid making regrets in the end.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 14, 2022, 02:55:51 PM
Thurman has some experience fighting against the best (Pacman), and even if he lost against one of the greats, it's still a split decision which means he can compete among the best of them. Errol Spence is currently the favorite to win this matchup should this happen, as Thurman has been idle for quite a long time before coming back to fight against Barrios which he easily won, and Spence Jr. is just bashing heads back and forth and being undefeated. Hopefully we see this come to fruition as the boxing scene has been quite stale as of late.

If we speak about chances then there's a high chance that Spence will be fighting Thurman next and I cannot think of any possible reasons why would they skip him because it will be a big fight that comes with a lot of money, so Al might give Spence the blessing to fight Thurman. Aside from that, not to underestimate Thurman but he's the least risky opponent among Ennis and Ortiz Jr.

it is true that thurman has been idle for quite long. but if he is active with his training, in my opinion, it is not a guarantee that spence will win on this one. i still think thurman has some juice to give to this sports. so spence should not take this match lightly if in case this will push thru. thurman fought toe-to-toe with pacquiao before. so he knows what he's dealing with here and so high likely, he will seriously prepare for this fight.

Thurman almost had a win in that specific fight against Manny Pacquiao, if he wasn't knocked down on the first round, he could've won that fight because their scores are too close. That knocked down gave Pacquiao an advantage. Back to the fight, he was defeated but that wasn't a bad defeat at all because it was just a UD and so I really think that Thurman got a decent chance in upsetting Spence. Other than that, Thurman already got his tune-up fight and so he might've already overcome that ring rust, the only thing to do is getting ready for his next big fight with Spence.
1028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: November 14, 2022, 02:31:04 PM

Well, that is if Canelo Alvarez himself would risk the belts and his undisputed title just to get revenge. His camp and Hearn will surely say that it's not worth it to do because he already lost the fight once and he have nothing to lose this time, so it's still better for him to pursue the fight in Bivol's division.

I agree, it is a smarter move for Canelo to fight Bivol's in his Division.  If Canelo move up to Bivol's division, he is not risking his title and will stay the undisputed champion even though he losses to Bivol.

Giving Bivol a chance to fight him in super middle will be Canelo's worst mistake and he will get nightmares for months because Bivol will have it for sure. In short, I don't think Canelo's dumb enough to do that, but, we'll see.

I agree, why risk the title when he can fight in another Division and have a chance to take the title in that Division?  All in all moving to Bivol's weight division is the best option for Canelo.

Indeed! Because why would he do that in the first place? He has nothing to gain or benefit if he will fight Bivol in 168 and the same thing will remain if he can manage to win, but if he'll lose, it'll be much harder for him to take that throne back to his possession. Bringing the fight in the division where they first encountered will be much advantageous for him, it might not be a win, but he will benefit a couple of millions because of it.

The ball is all on the side of Canelo, he has the burden whether risk all his belt at 168 lbs and lost everything and not assured of a 3rd fight with Bivol. Or fighting Bivol at 175 lbs, which we have seen could be a weight that he can't conquer, yes, he won against an out of prime Kovalev but he did admit that he had a hard time, so that should be a red flag for him that 175 lbs might not be for them. You can call it a dilemma for him, but if his pride will take over, he might go and rematch Bivol and take the risk at 175 lbs.

Canelo should forget that burden and the pressure to get revenge because his chances are still the same, slim, in any given divisions. He cannot do nothing about it because Bivol already proved how hard can he be as an opponent. It's best to take advantage of the situation while he's still hyped against Bivol, rather than risking what he got in 168 lbs.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: November 14, 2022, 01:43:22 PM
Poll would not lie, Casimero got 96.3% of the total votes here, so it's very obvious that most of us here believe that Casimero will win. Actually, I don't believe that when a boxer is inactive he will not be the same, because if a boxer that is inactive were active in the gym practicing, there should be no changes on his conditioning, Casimero was only inactive in professional sports but I'm pretty sure he keeps himself in shape all the time.

Maybe the poll was influenced by the fact that many users who read this thread were compatriots of Casimero like myself but in reality, though Quadro Alas has the advantage in this fight though the odds are not released yet but there's a big chance that Casimero would be the huge favorite in this fight.

That's called biased voting hehehe, but I guess the boxing community here is smart though, they know that Casimero has a good chance against a unknown Akaho. Again, based on our experience, sports bookies are kinda late in releasing their odds, usually day literally 24 hours before the actual fight.

You cannot really blame them because they were indeed Casimero's compatriots, and they also believed that he could do it as well, might be biased for others but there's a reason behind it. And in this fight, it's just hard to bet or side against Casimero because he's more known compared to Ryo Akaho who haven't faced any heavy boxers yet.

Casimero is out of the ring for quite some time now so ring rust might be an issue but considering that this is a comeback fight and a must-win for him, he will do whatever it takes to take the W at the end of 12 rounds if this would go the distance.
Probably a couple of rounds is needed by him to shake that ring rust and then goes back to his old self of knocking down his opponent with vicious shots. What's scary about Casimero is that both of his hands have power.

Just a probability but it's still better if he will get heated first in-order to overcome that ring rust effect if ever he has, just a precaution from being inactive for quite some time. Anyway, I'm expecting that he will do good this time because he really needed it, he doesn't need a barely won fight, he needed an exclamation point this time.
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 14, 2022, 01:16:06 PM
Wow! Celtics are back in that godlike form from last year play-offs and if they keep playing like this and if Tatum keep putting scores like this , I think Celtics has a massive chance again to fight to Play-offs finals and then NBA finals once more.

Yea, and the Celtics are just warming up but it is expected that they will play more impressively because they are now a much experienced team and the fact that they've reached far last season made them more stronger this season. Currently, they are on their 6th win streak, maybe they could surpass the Bucks streak this season.

The playoffs of the East will be epic with Celtics at their prime and Bucks on their prime as well. Giannis is a complete player right now and with his team, they will reach great heights. Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brown are also on their peak right now and this duo is almost unstoppable. It would be great if this two teams will end up in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Both teams hold the #1 and #2 seed on the Eastern Conference, it will be indeed fun and interesting to see if these teams will end up facing each other in the conference finals. There's still a long way to go before that and so let's see if both of them can survive the regular seasons but I think they will, soon. And speaking of their game, these two teams will meet next month, and the Celtics will host the game. It will be fun for sure!

1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: November 13, 2022, 05:28:25 PM
Did Bivol really said that he can make 168 lbs?

Below is an article by boxingscene which talked on Bivol moving down in weight but i personally watched his interview after the fight talking that he doesn't have any problem making the 175 lbs in fact before making the scales he ate a little which most boxers don't have the luxury. His sight is on the undisputed belt but a fight with Beterbiev is a slim possibility for now but he can be undisputed if he can beat Canelo at 168 lbs.

https://www.boxingscene.com/bivol-on-possible-canelo-rematch-168-four-belts-its-interesting-175-my-weight--170307

I heard many times even before his fight with Canelo that he is not having problems making the weight. Maybe because Bivol is a small light heavyweight. Although I also read news saying Bivol has no problems making the 168 limits, we already knew he can, it is obvious because there are many 168 fighters that are taller than him. Bivol's frame is not big either unlike Artur Beterbiev who's short but his frame is so huge.

Without a Beterbiev fight, Bivol's biggest fight when it comes to legacy is Canelo at 168. I think he will beat Canelo at 168.

And when he does that, he will be the unified champion at 168 which is Bivol's dream. A fight with Beterbiev for the unification of belt at 175 would cement his place in history as the two-division unified champion which I think non has accomplished yet.

If the above scenario happens, Bivol should thank Canelo for opening the door to history, i mean Bivol's first victory against Canelo was the one that make him more famous in the boxing world just like Pacquiao's first victory against Barrera.

Are you such gambler ?
Who are these people you hide your gambling activities from ?
Give a reason why you don't want them to know you are a gambler.

Yes, occasionally and sometimes regularly, depends on my mood.

I think I don't have any specific people on my list that I want to hide my gambling activities from, be it my own family, relatives or friends. I just don't feel the urge that they have to know nor share to them that I gamble because why would they need to know, right? Surely, I won't be getting some praises if they'll know and I'll just hear some words that I don't wanna hear, so, it's best for them if they don't know.

The important thing is that I'm able to keep my boundaries when it comes to gambling, I just love to bet on said games or fights while watching them, that's all.

1035  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: November 11, 2022, 05:33:47 PM
How long do you think it will take for paper money to be phased out for good? Will CBDCs be able to replace not only paper money but also credit/debit cards? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

CBDCs will not replace fully the paper money. They just can't. And not all governments will issue CBDCs.
It will take more generations until paper money gets phased out, if ever. There are still many people who don't use technology, there are still many regions not covered with internet; those just cannot go without an offline currency.
Paper money is here for good, digital currency will only be a complement to the existing paper money. And to think that not all areas have good internet connection, so digital currency will not very useful as most people will still prefer to use the paper money that they have lived for. And I guess even if the whole world gets fully digital, paper money will always remain as the main currency, and CBDCs will always be an option or a second form of currency.
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are those people that you don't want them to know you are a gambler on: November 11, 2022, 04:54:08 PM
Some gamblers keep their gambling activities secrete from people they have close relationship with. Having it in mind that if these people know they are gamblers,it might bring down their reputation or make them look wasteful. I hide my gambling activities from my Mom the reason is that she hates gamblers and calls them irresponsible people from her own perspective.

Are you such gambler ?
Who are these people you hide your gambling activities from ?
Give a reason why you don't want them to know you are a gambler.

I used to hide my gambling activities from my mother before but later on, I was forced to tell her the truth because she keeps on asking on where I am getting my money where in fact I don’t have a stable job. From then on, my family is already aware that I am a gambler. And since I know in myself I don’t spend too much on gambling, so I don’t have to keep it as a secret to anyone else.
1037  Other / Archival / Re: I don't want to buy cheap bitcoins, I want to buy expensive ones on: November 11, 2022, 04:24:53 PM
hahaha, that meme is all over the place on Reddit and Twitter  Cheesy maybe the reason why people not buying when cheap is because lack of money and fear when the market continue to drop and why people buy at higher price because they might think the price will continue to Rose
That is mostly the mindset of people who came to invest without real knowledge about bitcoin. And since they believe on it, they start doing the opposite way, buying at a high price and selling at a low price, and certainly end up losing and blaming bitcoin for their wrong decision. However, if they don’t start making wrong decisions and losing their capital when they are still newbies, they will never learn and never grow from crypto investments.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We Feel All The Emotions When We Gamble on: November 10, 2022, 09:14:01 PM
When we gamble we feel all the emotions, like when we feel excited when we are chasing our losses, feeling happy when we won a big amount, feeling depressed when we lose and we feel frustrated when what we expected to happen did not materialize, this is one of the reasons why we cannot stop gambling because we feel all the emotions.

Do you agree that we cannot stop gambling because it completed all our emotions and do you have other feelings when you gamble.
Gambling is a source of a lot of emotions because you can always experience being happy and sad, hopeful and depressed even in just a day in gambling. Which I think if we keep being exposed to it, we will learn to overcome a lot of emotions as long as we also learn from our gambling experiences. However, this is not the case for some of us because they tend to abuse their emotions and end up in gambling addiction. The reason why if you can’t control and hold your emotions, it’s better not to gamble anymore.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Copying Bet From Other Unknown Bettors, Is This a Good Practice? on: November 10, 2022, 08:27:51 PM
So for you, is copying bets online a good practices?

Imho it's not. You just blindly trust a random person's picks and you don't know if that person knows the game(s) or not. You can as well just play dice.
If you know the games and can take a look if those bets do make sense, maybe - but then you can do without looking what others do.
So no, I think that it's not a good practice.
It’s certainly not a good practice because you are increasing the chances to lose from your bets. You don’t know if that bettor is still a newbie and is still starting to explore in gambling, so there are high chances that he’s just also making a random bets which means you’re just putting yourself in a bigger risk of losing. It’s better if you bet from your own. At least if you lose, you have no one to blame and you will learn eventually from you losses even if it’s a luck based game.
1040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Importance of not letting others know about your crypto holdings on: November 09, 2022, 09:27:28 PM
The rules of the game are quite clear in this space, "you're the sole determinant of the extent to which your privacy is maintained". However, because some people think that wealth is a pride that must be shown, they don't pay much attention to it, especially since the crime rate isn't too high in their area.
Even so, it’s always a basic thing to never disclose anything you have especially if it’s all about money. Sad reality that most of the people never pay much attention to because they trusted their friends like their own family. And in that way, they can always prove to other people how far their achievements have gone, which literally made some of those friends to get envy and some may even think that he’s too boastful to brag what he have.
