1421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest mistake in crypto? on: June 01, 2022, 11:14:17 PM
What have been your biggest blunders so far when it comes to cryptocurrency? We all know that how much volatile the industry is. And the things that made you regret your decision? Can you share your thoughts, guys?

I guess everyone can relate, not buying when the price is very cheap. Just like when ETH was it's lowest in early 2018 or 2019, just below 100$ and me thinks that it is still expensive. And then we have a good bull run and it reaches a new all time high of almost $5k in 2021. That's crazy profit right there if I have invested a lot of money on ETH. But it is what it is, just have to learn from it and move on. And then wait for the next big opportunity in this bear market to fill our wallets with cheap alt coins again.
Not only in ethereum, but also in bitcoin too. Who could have thought that bitcoin turns very expensive these days that only a big whale can afford to buy a whole bitcoin. I guess everyone here has our own mistakes and regrets, but there's no late in crypto. We can still regain those we have lost in the previous years, just be patient and trust the process.
1422  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Legendary Forumla of Dip = Opportunity on: June 01, 2022, 10:47:15 PM

If you see market dipping, then it’s not loss but it’s market whose giving you opportunity. Just take it Smiley
Indeed, a great opportunity for us who are here for many years. But those who come during the peak season will certainly cry in vain.
However, I didn't put this as an option to think about the negative, this situation will come eventually.

Remembering the instability of the market, we can really be expecting such market behavior.
Buy the dip, making a chance to earn more. But this will depend on how we take a look at the market and either consider this as an opportunity or not.
The problem is that, not everyone in the market sees the same opportunity with others. While some buys in the dip, but others still believe that the bullish season is the best time to buy because their prices have still chances to increase more. But in reality, the crypto coins do not stay for long in peaks, but also fall in dips. That thing should be realized by everybody so that we will share the same opportunities in the same market season.
1423  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding my horses for now on: June 01, 2022, 10:24:35 PM
Is buying bitcoin right now the same with buying later? I stopped buying because it looks like Bitcoin dips isn't over, imagine buying at 19k per Bitcoin, I think the whole idea of investment is when you are buying not running after the best coins in the market, buying them cheap is better or I don't get it?.
Thats the problem we cant eventually foresee at what price bitcoin would be dipping. So the better move is do a dca on it so you could average your buy even its go down. No one can predict accurately the bottom unless you are a fortune teller and most especially only use money you arent scared to lose cause it may go down so its quite dangerous for you to use hard earned money.
Knowing how the crypto market seems very unpredictable, no one cannot foresee what will be the next price or the bottom price particularly for bitcoin since its highly volatile. So the best thing to do is not to wait for the dippest price, but to do DCA in every price drop. That way, you will never missed opportunities, and you will make the best buy if you are still buying in its bottom price.
1424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good time to start accepting BTC? on: June 01, 2022, 08:51:26 PM
I don’t have a business where I accept (or don’t accept) bitcoin but I think now is no different than any other time. Bitcoin has always has a level of volatility that I don’t think now is really any difference than any other time. Bitcoin could just as easily go up right now as it could go down.
Volatility is its nature so expect that there will always be volatility regardless of the current value of bitcoin. And asking if this could be a good time to accept bitcoin, it depends on how your perceive it. But if you are thinking for future profitability, accepting bitcoin and owning it is always a wise move for a smart investor. Its price may currently be very low this time but knowing bitcoin's value appreciates, so its good to own and hodl it for some time before you start thinking of selling it.
1425  Economy / Economics / Re: Share your Money management strategy on: May 31, 2022, 11:43:04 PM
You’re really not effectively diversifying when you’re just buying other cryptocurrencies. If you want real diversification, buy other assets or invest in a non-public business. Even public companies(stocks) are greatly correlated to BTC.
Diversification is not just only investing in cryptocurrency, but its also possible with stocks, real estate, bonds and even in gold. That way, you can be sure that you have spread your investments well. The best advantage of having good diversification is that you still gain profits despite of some failing investments. You can be sure that your investments still generate an income.
1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What approach do you expect from the Government if your Country adopt bitcoin? on: May 31, 2022, 10:48:11 PM
Starting from a topic started by Ratimov: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? so my inspiration to start this thread suddenly appeared where right now i really am would like to know what you think and expect if your country decides to adopt bitcoin as a legal tender.

We all know that El Salvador boldly announced to the world that they adopted bitcoin as a currency as well as legal tender. Many of us agree that this is an expected development, but in the end we can learn from the country [El Salvador] that to achieve successful adoption, the country and its government must also have a good approach and take the right steps. It is clear that this approach will have an impact on the success of the adoption, but so far El Salvador has failed with the adoption because their approach is not as perfect as expected based on the research.

Well, if El Salvador is considered to have failed with its bitcoin adoption so far [perhaps they have never failed 100%] then what do you expect if one day your country also decides to adopt bitcoin as a currency and legal tender especially regarding the approach and steps your government should take?
I think one thing the government should do first is to make the citizens more educated about bitcoin as well as the cryptocurrencies itself. Once they know about it, then they can help the government to assess whether it could be helpful to improve the government or not. Otherwise, there will be strikes that will possibly happen from those people who will oppose the decision of the government. So i think the decision is not only for those officials sitting in the government but the concern of the citizens should be given the top priority to be heard.
1427  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learning from the dip on: May 31, 2022, 09:40:51 PM
I bought some coin recently believing I’m buying from the dip but to my surprise this just keep dipping. MY DIP HAS TURNED TO THE DIPPER, EVEN THE DIPPEST.

Lesson
1. Avoid falling prey to FOMO: Almost every investors see a bearish market as a means of entering the market. In dip period like this, everyone will love to buy and keep. Most go any length to get money to buy from this dip out of the fear of missing out. This make some to borrow money to invest which can be risky.

2. Never borrow money to invest in cryptocurrency: This is a big risk and may cause serious issue if bearish continues and more dip is seen.

3. Never use all investment in buying crypto believing it will rise soon: This also affect some people. They try to invest big in dip believing it will rise quickly so they can sell for huge profit but most end up losing to the bearish market.

4. Always use DCA (Dollar Cost Average) when buying any crypto in a bearish market: This enable you to manage your lost if more bearish is seen.

None of us is capable to predict that its already the dippest price, so this is the reason why we should keep on buying in times of dip. And i think there won't be losses for that as long as you hodl them after buying, but if you are planning to sell them after short term hodling, that will certainly bring losses on you because its hard for the coins to recover again once their prices stay in dips. However, if you do DCA, you will never be in a loss, instead you always have the chance to buy just in every price drops.
1428  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Approaches That make Losing Become a Constant event on: May 30, 2022, 11:47:05 PM
Warning Only invest what you can afford to lose at whatever time.
At whatever point as a newbie in cryptocurrency one needs to eliminate the tendency for fear and greed, these two bad personalities can affect your total well being in the cryptocurrencies market, if you noticed a lot of investors who jump on a coin just for the sake of making a quick buck are the ones who mostly cry when the price goes against their prediction. This situation has placed most newbies in an unrecoverable condition so I feel it important we all get some things straight before putting our eggs in any basket if not the basket will wider the chances of making any profits from putting our egg in them. Don't get greedy always move within your limit, and grow along the line. Don't be quick to make a decision just because a coin did 10x.
Invest in coins that will give you long term profits, not just profitable only for short term. Because if you do that, there is more opportunity that your investment will last longer so that means too that you'll make more profits than it, rather than investing on new coins that makes 10x profits but end up as a low value coin after some time and lose your future profits.
1429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Nearly Bailed Me Out on: May 30, 2022, 09:52:35 PM
So I needed some funds to make up for a payment. I contacted three of my clients who were supposed to pay for some writing jobs but the payments were delayed. I was getting frantic when I remembered that one of my old Blockchain wallets. I started wondering if the wallet I hadn't used for years could have some valuable bitcoins. I also remembered that I had the seed words in my phone as a screenshot (crazy!) so I imported the wallet. Boy, you wouldn't believe how much I had in there. Not up to all the money I needed but enough to make a difference.

I wonder who else has access to old wallets Smiley
You're still lucky that you never lost your screenshot and still access your old wallet. But never be confident in just doing a screenshot just to keep your seeds. Always be responsible in making it more safe by transferring that data to a more secure device which cannot be access by anyone of your family or friends. Or better yet withraw your bitcoin and store it in a hard wallet which i think will make your bitcoins safe from all sorts of scamming that will steal your bitcoins.
1430  Economy / Economics / Re: Enticing customers to make payment with crypto. on: May 30, 2022, 09:07:53 PM
Is this a possible way to entice customers who do not like to pay with crypto, Will offering discounts for goods when a customer pays with crypto or free gifts encourage and entice more customers to use their crypto for payment of goods? If I offer discounts which will encourage more of my customers to get crypto, how can I possibly sustain it for long to ensure that i don't run at a loss?

How can you run a business and make profits if you are giving away some of your money for free? Its good to offer discounts but only in some selected days, not exactly the whole season. Because if you do that, your business will be doom in the long run. However, with crypto users, they will eventually use it as a payment as long as they know that you are accepting crypto for payment, but for the mean time, offer discounts but set a limit for it.
1431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 27, 2022, 03:31:45 PM

Nothing will happen to them if they do the same strategy because that style has been expose very well by Celtics si they need certain adjustment just to make the fire keep burning on them and heating up their passion yo win their next game. Next game is no room or them to get a mistake since if they still encounter such unfortunate incidents then might we will see Celtics truly advance to the finals.

The good thing with the Celtics is that, if Tatum will struggle, there are other players that will step up, but when Butler will struggle, Heat's chance to win against the Celtics is almost zero. So since this is a do or die game for the Heat, they need to ensure that Butler will perform like an all star, he cannot be messing around on this possible last game.

Coach Spo needs to adjust and create a system that will rotate the ball. It shouldn't be on Butler's shoulder. They need to work

side by side if they wanted to win this coming game 6, a hard task that can only happen if they come up strong from start to finish.

Butler should lead but not to try playing alone but instead, to allow his teammates to get involved, Lowry should also show confidence

in attacking and shooting the ball, he still has it. Just don't let Butler carry all the loads.

That was supposed to be their style, I don't know what happen that the offense now mostly focuses on Butler. His strategy would only work if Butler is not struggling, they already won 2 times in the series, so it's not over yet for them, however, as you said, if they will not make an adjustment, then there's no other day for them as they'll go fishing after game 6.
1432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Davis vs Romero: May 28 on: May 27, 2022, 02:54:00 PM

8 rounds or less before Tanks knocks out Romero. Maybe he will just deliberately prolong the fight and punished Romero for trash talk and finished him off with a huge left hook or uppercut.

That's risky if I am on Tank's corner I would not advise prolonging the fight when he has a chance to knock out Romero, you don't chase a knock out you wait for it to come, Rolly is still dangerous 90% knock out ratio is not something to be little Romero, in fact, I will not even rule out an upset here, I don't like Romero I want Tank to beat the hell out of him but the guy is a big puncher, and you don't underestimate a big puncher you set up a plan for him.

Agree, Tank is a knockout artist, most of his fights do not last 12 rounds, so it might not be to his advantage if this fight will prolong, he needs to make sure he will find an open spot where he could hurt Romero so this would reach to the judges' scorecards. If I will choose, I'd bet on Tank by KO than Tank by decision.
1433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: May 27, 2022, 01:47:13 PM
If Donaire would lose this one then it does proves out that Inoue is the better fighter but if chances that he would able to get the win this time then there's a high possibility for some trilogy which do usually happens
whenever there's some rivalry which is really that common and something that could be seen but of course it would really still vary with the organization if ever they would push possible third or not
but well we should not be talking about trilogy which Donaire needs to settle this rematch and might really be considering for its retirement?

Mate, it's already considered by the majority that Inoue is the much better fighter here. Donaire is fighting against the odds. He is the underdog here that's why if he will lose this match, these are expected already by the others. But I'm looking for an upset win by Donaire here.

Same here, I am looking for an upset win.  Donaire even though an underdog still has an explosive skill, knockout punching power, and good ring movement that can possibly KO his opponent.

To be honest, the thing that entices me to bet on Donaire here is the odds, he is the underdog and I like his odds though his chances are really low IMO. However, since Donaire said he will not be the same in the first fights, that gives me as a bettor some confidence in betting on him.
1434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 27, 2022, 01:08:12 PM
I am prediction a low scoring game tomorrow as it's going to be physical both teams wanting to win.

Both teams played a defensive game, so most likely it's a low scoring game again.
The over/under line now is 201. Last game, they only have a total of 173 points, so I think that 201 is already high and the under looks very attractive.

1435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Western Conference Finals (Warriors vs Mavericks) on: May 27, 2022, 12:03:02 PM
Warriors is just a tough team to beat after all, I think they now have all the odds to be the champions once again in the NBA, they're up in the rankings once again. Those outside shootings are just impossible to contain from the Warriors, they are a different breed tbh. I think it will be Celtics vs. Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Well, they have proved it before and they did it again this year. This only means that they don't really need KD to win those championships before, KD needs them.
What the Warriors only need is being healthy 100%. Iggy wasn't even playing, he was a great addition for both offensively and defensively.
I'm glad to see them once a again on the biggest stage.
I am also expecting the Celtics to win the ECF.
It was a great game and Steph deserved the first ever Conference Finals MVP award. I agree with what Draymond said in the postgame interview with the TNT crew that they’ll be playing the Celtics next. I expect Steph will be holding up a Finals MVP trophy at the end of that series.
I wonder if there are odds for MVP Finals, for GSW I'm thinking it could either be Klay, Green, or the favorite Steph. For Celtics, no wonder the favorite will be to Jayson Tatum or either for Smart and Brown. If Draymond Green is expecting Celtics to be in the NBA Finals then I guess there's a threat for them on that, they are expecting something from this team.

I guess experience for Celtics team and coaching staff isn't at par if we compare it to the Warriors but we will see that in the Finals, of course if Celtics win. Celtics coaching staff aren't that bad at all too.

Check on this link - https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/basketball/usa/nba/nba-21-22-60f9572f41ddce1ac040cdfa

The last time I check, it was Curry who is the favorite on the Finals MVP race,  and Klay and Green have very attractive odds, so if the odds are available again, you can put your bet if you want.

I think all the available odds will be presented once the ECF is over. Maybe tomorrow, we will see the new ECF champion and with that said, it will be the Warriors vs Celtics in the Finals. Next to Curry, I think Thompson has a decent chance because he can take over the game like what he did in game 6.
1436  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Emotions on: May 26, 2022, 04:50:15 PM
Controlling your emotion, easy to talk about it but when you are there and there is something that triggers you, you will hard time dealing with it.

Just be watchful to the market and yourself because you might not have noticed that you have been emotional and too greedy.
Being self-aware is a skill and it is one that it is really difficult to master, it is easy to take a look at ourselves and think that we are way better than we are, so many people have the mistaken idea that they can control their emotions but in fact they cannot do so, and this can be a huge weakness when we trade, because trading at its core is an exercise at decision making under pressure, those that can take the pressure and take the best decision possible win while those that cannot do so lose.
I guess no matter how skilled or professional you are in trading, trading with emotions is the hardest thing any trader can control. The fact that we're humans, then emotions will be inseparable from us. But the good thing is, we can limit ourselves from being emotional, because if we trade with less emotions, most likely we will end up with a successful trade. While others have succeeded in controlling or simply limiting their emotions, some have been trading with full of emotions and greed that they fail to make a profitable trade in the end.
1437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 26, 2022, 12:59:06 PM
In game 4, this round is exaggerated. Injuries from the description maybe there haven't been any results, both the Celtics and heat, who got more injured. But the difference in points in Game 5 and injuries are minimized. I hope the road in Game 6 can be more conducive. If it's hot it will be lower of course celtich has good enthusiasm. and maybe he will take advantage of that fight in the future
The difference in points in round 5 makes predictions almost slim. But this year's NBA Finals will be exciting
I think this series is going to end in game 6, Heat has no answer on the Celtics, their main scorer Jimmy Butler has been struggling in the last 2 games already. In game 5, he only score 13 points from a very poor shooting with 4-18, if Butler continues to struggle, then Celtics will go to the NBA Finals.
That's the problem that Heat needs to address if they still want to extend the finals, they should work as a team because Celtics are really dominating the series but of course there's still a chance for Heat to tied the series. Celtics should not be more complacent here, better to stay focus and try to finish the series and go to the NBA Finals. Butler should step up and do better on the do or die game, it's not too late yet.

It's too late already, if Heat would want to win, they should do it on their home court, but they failed in game 5 and it was not even a close game, so their chance of winning now is very low. Game 6 is going to be a do or die game for both teams, at least Celtics should think that way as heat will gain the momentum if they will allow the Heat to win in game 6.
Too early to say but I agree, Heat should be able to win on Game 5 but failed to do so, most probably game 6 will in favor to Celtics since its their home court advantage and the momentum is with them. If Game 6 goes to Heat there's a high chance for them to get the championship, luck can still be on their side. Eastern conference are more intense since we saw the two teams really fighting neck and neck, whoever wins on this two team the NBA finals will become more exciting.
As long as the game is not over yet, there's still a chance for the Heat to come back and win the series. Look at the Celtics vs Bucks series, it was Bucks who first reach 3 wins in the series but Celtics won the last 2 games that eliminated the Bucks.
1438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 26, 2022, 12:30:09 PM
I'm a fan of Heat, but I would agree that both Butler and Lowry performed very poorly (because of the injuries), and that's why they are now behind the series and they give Boston a lot of chance to steal this series and go to the finals. I'm conceding that with the way they show in their homecourt and lost this big, it might be over for them mentally.

The NBA has to do something about its one day to travel in between games. I mean I can only imagine how fagged out both teams would have been. There's so many injuries and little time to rest and recover from them. Personally, I have been watching Kyle Lowry all through this season and what I can say is that aside from his injuries it seems he his going through a lot. He's been off  for a large part of the season.

As it's something new, they are doing that ever since so they already know it's not the main reason for injuries. One day travel is enough to rest, and of course, we fans would want to see action everyday so we will always support that.
1439  Economy / Economics / Re: Where to invest everything looking bearish on: May 25, 2022, 11:52:04 PM
Btc is not moving Also other crypto down
So where to invest to get good profit ?
Is there actually coins wich follows the food prices ?
As food going up so u can earn profit from coins what follows the food prices also.
What about panncakeswap coins ?

The point is we need money but nowhere seems to be money moving fed better give us money forget about this inflation rate hikes...and start money printing again if usa cant print money we give rights to pump markets to other country if usa cant get the job done.

So lets nominate country who can pump markets and through the inflation to people who live in there
Any nomimations?

If you think that this bearish market never brings opportunity to invest, i guess you are very wrong with that. In fact, this is a great start for all those newbies who want to enter the market. Yes, everything is bearish, and that's we need the most so we can maximize our investments even with a low budget. Also, investing into some other assets are never wrong. As long as there is good income waiting for it, then just invest on the amount you can afford to lose.
1440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The bitcoin price drop is an excellent time to buy bitcoins on: May 25, 2022, 11:34:15 PM
The crypto market made massive progress in 2021, but we can see significant swings that have scared many crypto investors in 2022. The price of Bitcoin has dropped below $31,000, and many investors panicked. But don’t run from crypto before you read the article.

Bitcoin’s price dropped
The bitcoin's price decreased below $26,000 for the first time in 16 months, amid a sell-off in cryptocurrencies that erased more than $200 billion from the entire market in a single day. Ethereum, the most well-known altcoin, tanked to as low as $1,704. It’s the first time the token has fallen beneath the $2,000 mark since June 2021.
TerraUSD (UST) is intended to be pegged to the $1 but it sank as low as 12 cents and collapsed in a run as investors panicked and sold off their tokens. The Terra blockchain has since officially halted.
Some crypto investors are fleeing from cryptocurrencies. Many crypto investors think about what they should do to save their money. Potential crypto investors are as scared as experts.
What’s behind the latest bitcoin drop? Are crypto market collapsed?

Don’t panic
First, Bitcoin saw its dropping below $31,000 for the first time since July 2021. Such bitcoin’s price was just over a year ago and it means that you don’t need to pay 10,000 bitcoins for pizza. Bitcoin is still a valuable digital asset.
Second, cryptocurrencies have plunged in tandem with Wall Street, and are almost on par with the tech-centric Nasdaq, as investors fret about the Federal Reserve’s next moves to tame inflation. When the Federal Reserve raises interest rates to combat levels of inflation unseen in the U.S. for forty years, it has the effect of lessening demands for more growth companies, like tech stocks and speculative risk assets like Bitcoin. Cryptocurrencies are a part of the economy.
Third, the volatility of cryptocurrencies makes them attractive for investment and risky at the same time. If you seek shelter, you should invest in low-risk assets such as US Treasury bonds but the profitability of assets is also low. By investing in Bitcoin, many investors expect that the speculative craze hasn't diminished, and they will be able to sell it again for much more than they paid. But recent history should be that such plans, while tempting, are never easy to achieve. . The thrill of speculatively investing is not the best strategy because bitcoin is a long-term asset.
Looking back at every past bitcoin downturn, there is absolutely no need to panic in such a situation.

Should you own bitcoin? Should you invest in bitcoin now?
It doesn't really matter who you are, a first-time crypto investor or an experienced crypto trader. The most important thing is to be prepared for the bear market. You should hold or even increase your position if you're set up because bitcoin is a long-term asset. The price drop is a good time to buy bitcoins and use a buy-and-hold strategy. Volatility is as old as the hills, and it's not going anywhere. Keep your cryptocurrency investments under 5% of your portfolio. If you've done that, don't stress about the swings because they will keep happening. If you want to invest in altcoins, you should create a balanced portfolio.
Anyway, bitcoin down is an opportunity for growth, and you can take this opportunity.

There's no other big opportunity to invest in bitcoin but with this present dip as bitcoin value has dropped a lot more. And there's none of us who can tell when this price drop will stop so better do the DCA so we'll never miss a single opportunity to own bitcoin. Hopefully, newbies will also realize that there are also good things happening when the market is bearish, so they won't be panicking when everything in their portfolio is dropping even bitcoin which they think the price will always move up.
