1041  Economy / Economics / Re: Consumers to Spend More on Black Friday Despite Economic Downturn on: November 08, 2022, 09:39:04 PM
I will add one more point to answer why consumers are expected to spend money during black friday. Black Friday comes every year at a fixed time so more than 90% of the spendings are actually pre planned. People don't make impulsive buying choice during black friday. They obviously tend to buy more products if they get a good deal. But the sale is mostly driven by the pre planned purchases.

That's why you will possibly see a similar kind of buying interest from the retail consumers this year as well.
Yes, people have been saving for this day to come so eventually if they will find good deal to buy, then they can maximize their purchase as much as they want. I guess that’s a human nature, when there are huge sale in all items, they will never let it pass. And besides, if they can go for early shopping this year with bargain prices, then they don’t have to go rush shopping when the holiday season comes.
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 08, 2022, 05:07:46 PM
If he's better coming from the bench then I think he should remain that way.
That might work but it will not work forever because good teams will just beat them on their starters. Westbrook is one of the highest paid NBA players, he should not be on the 2nd unit only, he needs to be a starter but he also needs to improve. Bring the old Westbrook who average triple double, or maybe a double is enough.

Just relax mate and be patient because Westbrook just got his most awaited break after a whole season of being blamed on what happened on the Lakers and criticized on his performance. Just let Westbrook enjoy first, and feel to be praised again about his performance because it's been a long journey for him to get back in this very state, and he need this to restore his form before bringing him back on the starting five.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: November 07, 2022, 03:44:02 PM
Canelo rematch would be preferred by its promoter too. It's the money to get that counts. Bivol is very confident in his skills, he retained his title for a long time. Both orthodox are better to watch against a southpaw, thier front foot is too uncomfortable to watch, Bivol has stepped on Zurdo's foot many times. After Bivol found his range, he suddenly just keep throwing combo very timely pushing Zurdo to a corner.

Canelo rematch won't happen for now. Bivol wants to become undisputed at 175 lbs first.

After Bivol successfully become undisputed at 175 lbs then he can now accept any challenges since that would be a mandatory fight.

Promoters can't just organize a fight based on what the fans like because of certain circumstances.

That is if Bivol had that much leverage to decline the fight if Canelo activates the rematch but anyway, is that already official like Bivol already spoke about it? I know Bivol wants to have his chance first against whoever will win in the fight of Beterbiev and Yarde but that may take time because their fight is already delayed.
1044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: November 07, 2022, 03:18:03 PM
A good challenge to him now, preparing for his upcoming fight, a new division which would be the first step in his new journey.

The first step and his possible first win, well, there should be no problem with him in this fight, it's on the division that he is comfortable, there is no more weight issues for sure and we will again see Casimero winning via KO. There's a reason why he is the heavy favorite here, that's because people still believe that he still is a champion.

Also, in the world of boxing, Casimero is much more known and people already know what he can do while this Ryo Akaho is not that known yet because as you can see on his record, he's more like a local boxer but he made an appearance in this very industry once way back 2015 but returned to local fights right away because he was defeated badly by a Thailand boxer by a way of KO.
1045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 07, 2022, 01:01:59 PM
If ever both party agreed for a rematch, I wonder which weight Division are they fighting, would it be Canelo's division? or Bivol's division?  If ever Canelo go up in weight division just to fight Bivols in his natural Division, I think we will be seeing the same result like their first fight.

I don't think that Bivol can go and fight at 168 lbs, he has been a true light heavy weight fighter in his career. So most likely if Canelo insisted at this comfortable weight, Bivol is not going to take the fight. Canelo has 2 fights already in light heavy weight so I guess there is no problem for him moving up again and rematch Bivol. Although the result might still be the same as you have said.

Aside from that, Canelo don't have any power now to insist or demand what he want like to settle and contest their rematch in 168 pounds because he is now chasing Bivol, not the other way around. Furthermore, their first encounter happened in Bivol's division, so it's still better to make it happen in light-heavyweight and just like you guys said, this isn't the first time for Canelo.

Well, let's say that their rematch will indeed happen in 168 lbs. and let's say that Bivol have also agreed to it. The question is, is Canelo Alvarez ready to risk his belts and the undisputed title? I don't think Canelo have the guts to risk his status now because he already know Bivol's capabilities. Remember that supermiddle and lightheavy have only 7 lbs. or 3 mere kilograms of difference. Bivol will surely take that challenge for sure if that's the case, no doubt.
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 07, 2022, 12:38:12 PM
Right now the game of Los Angeles Lakers VS Cleveland Cavaliers is commencing and the Lakers is on the lead right now with 35 - 29 but here is my take on my pick for today's game,

Russel Westbrook is having a good game. 12 point in 5/6 of shooting and it is just the start of the second quarter. I bet on cavs here and my bet is looking bad. The score is just close though, so there is still a good chance I can still win this game.

Westbrook has been on an absolute tear since coming off the bench. I think with slightly less competition he can dominate. He’s shooting an incredible average the last 4 games and keeps getting better. What a turnaround. I’m so happy for him. I hope he can keep it up. What was happening to him personally in Los Angeles wasn’t right. With a scoring threat off the bench, all LA needs now is a three point shooter and they might make the playoffs.

And they still need consistency to survive because even if they get lucky and managed to get a spot in playoffs, it's very likely that they will be just eliminated in the first round. And about Westbrook, I'm glad to see that he's slowly getting back to his form, he was heavily criticized before but Darvin Ham helped him to get over with it. If he's better coming from the bench then I think he should remain that way.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 05, 2022, 04:59:29 PM
Their offense no doubt is still there with Steph Curry, but something has change regarding their defense this season. I think Steve Kerr knows this and for sure they wanted to snap that losing streak and take a win.

It's also unusual to see that the Golden State Warriors gave up that many points against a considered low-tier team. Defense is really the problem as Orlando Magic does even have a below-100 average total per game. The odds might be impressive at that time for the Magic when they are down by over 10+ points almost the entire game.

Really surprising to see those low-tier teams upsetting those dominant teams but still, when playoffs came, all eligible teams will start at 0-0 standing.

Those who placed their bets live or before the game started towards the Magic are quite lucky, I bet those odds are so juicy and because nobody could really tell that the Magic can shift the table and in the game with just a point shy away from the defending champions. Anyway, that's good for the Magic because defeating the Warriors is a big deal for them as it will lift their morals high and give a boost to their confidence as well.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: November 05, 2022, 04:37:18 PM
Yes, at least 2 non-title fights but that might be against the heavy tiers in this division before he moves up and fight either one of the two current champions in super-bantamweight. That is already expected because Bob Arum is taking some extra precautions just to make sure that Inoue will maintain his status for a while. Classic Bob Arum moves.

That might be the closest thing that might happen. Arum should fully prepare his cash cow before directly going against the SuperBantamweight Champions. There's also a possibility that Inoue might not face the current champions there if ever those will fail to defend their respective titles on the way.

Surely while Inoue is facing first those boxers on the top rank at the SuperBantamweight, both Fulton and Murodjon also have their respective fights. I hope all of them will won their future fight so that we can them fighting at each other soon.

Well, I can somehow say that the current Inoue is fully prepared to begin a war to the existing champions in super-bantam and I'm sure that these champions are now kind of sweating because they know Inoue's capability, and that he is not an easy opponent to face. But to be safe, Bob will just give Inoue a non-title fights just to test the water.
Also, I do think that Inoue's power won't be affected because the weight difference from bantam to super-bantam is not that really far. IIRC, the difference is just 4-5 pounds.
1049  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you like commission job or salary base job? on: November 04, 2022, 05:52:59 PM
I prefer career jobs or salary base jobs, as mentioned. This kind of job brings stability to the employee and his family. There are many potential benefits and increasements on his wage as he rises in career, while keeping the same workload.

On the other hand, if you want to earn more from comission jobs, you have to work more, you have to invest more time without the guarantee you are really going to earn more after all. There are less guarantees and benefits for this kind of employee. Social skills are also a must and not everyone is able to communicate to the public in a clear, charismatic and captivating way.

But since opportunities are scarce for all nowadays, we can't choose with what we want to work. Any opportunities available (since they are legit) must be taken in consideration even if it is not the job of your dreams.
Most especially in this present time of inflation, any legal job can do as long as it can sustain our basic commodities and expenses from living our lives. However, if you can be given a job of your own choice that manifest your interests and skills, definitely it will be all worth working and satisfying on our part. Regardless if it’s for commission bases or salary based jobs, the most important thing is that you were able to enjoy your job and be the best version of what you can be.
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: November 04, 2022, 05:09:10 PM
The unfortunate Anderson has not only continued to fight in the UFC in his relatively old age, he also continued fighting despite a series of losses. Poor legend. Not only that, after he ended his UFC career, he shifted to professional boxing losing 2 of his 5 fights and even faced a much younger opponent in Jake Paul.

Has he not made enough money in the UFC to stop fighting altogether and retire from sports for good? Possibly, we all know how Dana shares his profit even with his prized fighters and champions.
He's career will totally end here since its huge lose for him to get defeated by a youtuber. I don't expect to see him fight for another match because its like he's totally done after this huge defeat he encounter from Paul. We can say that this is really an unfortunate state for a called legend and he need to retire with that status since if he keep losing for an exhibition match for sure people will mock at him and ignore or forget his legendary status earned from UFC.
I don't think he was fighting for anything before this neither, these are all "I have a known name, let’s use that to make some money" type of fights for a long time now,  and he can still keep doing that for sure. I still think that there was something shady if you ask me, Jake is not as good of a boxer as people think he is, he has a good punch there is no denying that, and he does have a solid chin, but his accuracy and his defence is a joke, so anyone who knows about boxing would know that Silva should have taken him.

Very weird situation that Jake is still boxing at this point, I would have assumed he would be humiliated already, a youtuber turned boxer doesn't sound like it makes sense to me tbf, but he keeps on shocking the world, interesting.

Its kinda weird that Silva lose that fight and this is totally not a good sight to see especially he is legend so many fans expect that he will give good fight on this match. But looks like he caught off guard by Paul that's why he lose on this match.

Don't find it weird that Paul still participating on Boxing matches since for sure he always care about huge bucks that he can receive for just taking big matches.

It's not wierd at all that he lost.  Although boxing and mma seem like a good crossover it's a very different sport.  Straight boxing and not being able to use take downs or legs is huge.  Defense is built different just like on offense.  Usually mma fighters are fine for a bit but over any decent amount of time they get exposed.

That is right, Boxing and MMA is two different sport, so we can somehow say that Jake Paul got the advantage over the legendary Silva even if there's some people who are saying that Silva got the advantage because he is not that kind of beginner in the world of boxing. Yes that is also true because Silva indeed got few his own fights in boxing before he encountered Jake but that doesn't change the fact that he's an MMA fighter and not a boxer unlike Jake Paul who started his career in boxing. Someone could argue with this statement but that's okay because there's a high chance that someone doesn't share the same opinion too.
1051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: November 04, 2022, 04:44:08 PM
Bob Arum won't do that for sure even if the market is too good for both promoters if Inoue will go straight to the champions, either Fulton or Murodjon. There's a lot of undefeated boxers on the super-bantam division that will be good for Inoue in his first fight, testing the waters first will be the best option, there's no need to hurry even if Inoue have a good chance against these guys.

Since Naoya Inoue is currently prime, he can generate more money by fighting other boxers in the meantime instead of going against directly the champions. Like what happened to Pacquiao during his prime and being managed by Bob Arum, there are fights of his that give disappointment fans but in return, still always produced sold-out tickets and PPV. As we know Arum, he will maximize what Inoue can bring before considering him to fight for the title match.

From what I see if ever Inoue will moved up, he will have 2-3 non-title fights first then after that, a title match will be next.

1052  Economy / Economics / Re: Can One Get Rich or At least Not go Broke During a Recession? on: November 03, 2022, 09:51:00 PM
Recession is coming and we know it. In some places it is staring us right in the face. Unemployment, rising cost of living, increasing food prices, falling stocks etc are some of the negative effects associated with recession. Despite this seemingly bad news, Warren Buffet said “In short, bad news is an investor’s best friend”. And another quote by someone goes thus "millionaires are made during a recession". I have been recently laid-off work due to the recent economic crisis in my country. I do not want to see this as a bad thing. So I ask what hidden opportunities does this recession offer? How can one take opportunity of the recession to become rich or at least not go broke?

It’s hard to find opportunities when everything else around you is losing. Just like you, knowing your already jobless, that would mean very depressing too if you haven’t save or reserve any money for emergency funds. The only thing that this recession will open doors of opportunities is that if you have spare money to invest, otherwise you will suffer the consequences in life that even some end up quitting their lives.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan December 10 on: November 03, 2022, 05:24:30 PM
I don't think Thurman could be the best market out of the three named boxers because people wouldn't believe that Thurman can stand a chance against Spence. We already know the history, Ugas defeated Pacquiao and Spence defeated Ugas while Thurman here was defeated by Pacquiao. Can't imagine if Pacquiao-Spence fight wasn't cancelled. That is why it's much better for Spence to pick Ennis.

But still though, as far as resume is concern Thurman > Ennis or Ortiz Jr, both is still not a PPV stars, I know that they are still unbeaten, but I don't think boxing promoters will give them the chance as early at this time to have the chance to fight for the belt, and it's going to be risky for both Crawford and Spence to fight either one of them. Again, I'm not saying that they are avoiding this two, but the risk and reward ratio and the expected returns might not be good.

So in this case, Crawford goes on a easy route vs Avanesyan, and who knows, Spence will see Thurman as and easy fight as well and the reward will be high in the end. And I'm seeing that this fight will sell to the fans.

Well, glad you cleared that for me mate Grin Yes, I understand. It's all about money this time and it's already safe to say that they will save the best for last because the risk and reward is quite bigger. Although, from what I heard, the latest rumor about Spence is that he will fight Jermell Charlo, both PBC stars and that's actually possible, while Spence here will be just go back and forth whenever he needed to defend his title in welter.
1054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 03, 2022, 05:00:29 PM
LA Lakers escaped from another loss, good thing they have Ryan who forced an OT and the Lakers then too over in the OT. 2 wins in a row, now bad, but hopefully they'll be more consistent and dominant so we will not feel nervous while watching the game.

Westbrook now is playing limited minutes but he had some good contribution, I think that's good for the team.

I wish I could’ve watched the game. The highlights made it seem like it was a fun one to see. Zion and LeBron had a moment afterwards where LeBron seemed to be paying respects to Zion. The Lakers won mostly because of a hell of a game from Lonnie Walker IV. He was 5-9 from three point range and that’s exactly what the Lakers need to win games.

I agree, they need a 3 point shooter to win, good to see that someone has really excel in that game to do the job. They traded their 3 good 3 point shooters in the past, now they are struggling, hopefully we will see some consistency Lonnie Walker IV and that he'll contribute to contribute big time for the Lakers.

We will likely see it soon because so far, this is the only game I see that they gave a lot of minutes for their bench players and coach Darvin Ham succeeds again because of that play. I'm looking forward that the Lakers will continue to play like these and not just focusing too much on their stars because the 2nd squad have some skills too. They just need a lot more exposures to polish their forms.
1055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would this Lead to the Mass Adoption of Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2022, 09:59:36 PM
Lately Twitter has been filled with the news of Elon Musk's proposal for Twitter folks to pay $8/month for the blue checkmark. And there have been supporting and dissenting voice here and there. One of the comments that caught my attention is that of this user, Jack Mallers. He tweeted "Lightning (instant + near-free #bitcoin payments) should be an accepted payment method. Would allow for global, inclusive, private payments (important for pseudonymous users) that are cash-final (no chargebacks)." I read this, and the first thought that came to mind was, if Elon Musk consents to this we might likely see the bitcoin's mass adoption. Now Assuming this happens, do you think we may see the technical mass adoption of bitcoin?
It won’t go straight to mass adoption but I believe in one way or another, it will create a positive start for bitcoin to get accepted as a payment method. Although this is still a survey that may get positive or negative results from the audience, but if Elon Musk will push through about this, this will not just bring positive feedbacks for him but eventually, it will create large benefits to bitcoin owners and users.
1056  Economy / Speculation / Re: What’s going to make Bitcoin turn from a downward to an upward trend? on: November 02, 2022, 08:57:06 PM
Time, just be patient.
Patient enough that you won’t get into panic selling once everyone is into it due to fears and less faith in bitcoin. Although we get to not controlled our emotions sometimes, but if you just chose to stay positive despite of the uncertainties in the market and believe that bitcoin is the future, you will never get tired and become fearful  from investing bitcoin and hold it even for how many long years. Just wait for the right timing for bitcoin to become bullish, i know it’s still uncertain but we know it will eventually happen.
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Growing Money is Knowledge on: November 02, 2022, 07:52:13 PM
If I had seen this message in the past years, my direct answer would be yes, keeping the money is a very good thing. But now when I look at the wars and tensions around the world, saving money in this period is a huge mistake. Because there is a serious inflation problem around the world right now. For this reason, all the money you save in the bank or personally is melting away in the face of this inflation. Because the value of money is decreasing day by day. The house and cars you bought for a certain price yesterday were almost doubled. Therefore, in this period, it is better to make a profit by investing your money in some way or by converting the money in some way.
However, it is still a good thing to have some portion of your money put in your savings account for your emergency funds. But if you want to see fast growth of your money, maximize your investments either in crypto or in other form of investments. Saving money alone will not make you profitable in the end, instead learn to save and invest, that way you can expect huge returns when your investments work in the future.

The forum, is just like every other online forum or group, and all one is needed to do is just to discuss and share ideas, ask necessary question, answer questions, help solve a problem and in general be ready to unlearn, learn and relearn.

Always try to give solutions to problems, when people present a topic seeking for solution, as this also fascinates meriting a post.

Just focus on learning and giving your best to make your post reliable and beneficial to others, that way earning merits will just come easily and unexpectedly. No need to pressure yourself about that as it will just happen once the people around you appreciate your post. So focus on making quality post and always make a post from your onhand experience, that way it will easily go straight to the heart of other members.
1059  Economy / Economics / Re: 5 things you should not do with your money to get rich on: November 01, 2022, 08:59:15 PM
1. Don't spend without a plan
Because if you want to save something or have some money, you should keep having plans when it comes to what you buy.
Making plans or spending money without a budget can be very bad for your money. The rich are very meticulous with money. One of the wisest things I have heard about money discipline to get rich is also not to spend money before it comes. That is, as much as possible, you should avoid borrowing money to buy things or buy something with the promise to pay later.
Spending without a plan is like wasting your hard earned money in unnecessary things. You will never know they’re gone until you get there. The reason why a lot of responsible people do spend following their plan and spending within their budget. Otherwise, you will end up having financial breakdown just because you have spend more than your available money and might even get you in unexpected debt.
1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 31, 2022, 04:29:16 PM
However the case of Inoue is different, if he wins his next fight against Butler and he becomes the undisputed he will immediately get a chance to fight for a title, this is the reason Usyk and Canelo after becoming undisputed champions on their division could immediately try to get a championship on the next division, and this is key as it could save Inoue a bunch of fights to prove his worth on the next division,

Naoya Inoue already said a couple of months ago that he wants to face the current WBC and WBO super bantamweight Champion Stephen Fulton once he moved up a weight division and successfully achieved being the undisputed bantamweight champion by defeating Paul Butler.

The Japanese monster is really comfortable that he can easily adopt well to the 122 lbs environment from 118 lbs.

“At 122 pounds, I can move more, and I think I can demonstrate my strength more. I don’t know how much damage I can do to opponents who should be naturally bigger. It will be an unknown world. - Naoya Inoue

Not just Stephen Fulton, but Murodjon Akhmadaliev, the WBA and IBF  are waiting for Inoue too.

Yes, Inoue says that he is more comfortable at 122 lbs, his body could adapt easily at this new weight class as it is much easier for him to lose and diet around it.

So it will be interesting weight class once he officially move in, because Casimero is also having his baptism of fire in Super Bantamweight/Jr. Featherweight at the end of the year.

The question is, will Bob Arum will push his cash cow to face either Fulton or Akhmadaliev right away after moving up?

Naoya Inoue is really a monster but we have to consider also that most of his fights are based on his homeland, Japan.

I don't know if his potential as a monster will still be seen if the crowd is against to him or not dominated by the Japanese audiences.
