Can't wait to see the peer to peer betting. Is there a house edge also when gambling PvP?

Nope Smiley The first way to conveniently gamble your Bitcoins without any -EV

We've already got a fully functional version. Currently touching up a bit on PvP aspect. The PvP aspect of PD3 is going to really revolutionize gambling as a whole, so we plan on doing it perfectly Smiley

Appears to be the case which is 100% bullshit.

It's a tough call.

Suppose you accidentally run a roulette game where 60% of the numbers are red due to a manufacturing error.

Some guy notices and plays for 15 hours non-stop, betting on red over and over, and wins a bunch.

Are you obliged to honour all his bets, even after he openly admits "I saw there were more reds than blacks, so I bet on red a lot"?

I don't know the answer.

I do think it makes sense to refund the people who bet on black and lost due to the error, but it's less clear what to do about people who won a bunch on red. Some of them didn't even notice the error and were just playing 'red' because they like red, but others were clearly playing because they saw they have a positive expectation.

I guess the right thing would be to pay him out, and take the hit. Whether to pass that on to investors or not is a separate question.

It's a difficult situation indeed. Assuming the player had no idea they were abusing the site then the proper thing to do would be not to punish said user. As far as passing off the burden to investors, this sort of thing needs to be clarified at time of investment. If there is some sort of terms and conditions/FAQ for investment that specifically states that investors would take the hit, then it would be just.

Why is WL faucet back to 250 sats? Sad

Really bummed to see this.  However I guess it has been awhile since users were being consistently white listed.

The 1000 sat was great and you could have a lot of fun with it.  So sad if it stopped working for the site. But would appreciate an explanation if it was intentional so I know what to root for and encourage going forward.  Unfortunately, I can think of lots of reasons why it is down other than the impending arrival of PD3.

Good Luck!

Small mistake on our side. It has been readjusted back to 1000 Smiley

Stunna,

A few months ago, there was a guy who was trying to bet that the price of a share of Berkshire Hathaway would be worth more than a comparable amount of bitcoin at the end of the year.  I saw that you were in talks with him but I didn't hear if the bet was placed or not. What happened with that?

He changed his mind, it was strongly in my favor especially considering we were amending it to be 300 coins for 300 coins which would have meant if he won he'd be winning lower value coins.

Also a happy hour will begin in a few minutes.

PD will be getting ALOT of traffic soon due to the halt at Just-Dice  Shocked Shocked

I wish we could invest but oh well

PD2 is super unscalable, the rush to finish PD3 is on.

Hey Stunna, just to let you know, I made a modification for 2FA support for this forums' version (SMF 1.1.19.) I just sent a PM to theymos with the details. I hope he can check it to see if it all works properly so it can be implemented soon Smiley

If he accepts/implements it I'll make good on my offer. Thanks for giving this a shot

2019  Economy / Gambling / Re: Flawed Provably Fair Systems on: June 28, 2014, 05:58:22 PM
Is there a way to create a simple provably fair scheme without requiring a fixed server seed hash? For example, is it possible to present a user a server seed hash which changes every roll along with a client seed which changes every roll but make it so the user can verify that the client seed being regenerated each roll is not manipulated? This would allow instant verification via command line without having to generate a new pair of seeds if possible, correct?

If you generate the client seed using javascript from the user's browser is this provable?  Is the only strong and instantly verifiable system Just-Dice's or are there other ways to go about instant provably fair without having to require users to input a client seed. Ideally I'd like to make something as strong as JD's system that is very simple to verify via terminal/command line and is very simple to understand, the vast majority of users do not understand provably fair.

Thanks so much
