1541  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING: 100 BTC disappeared when deposited at Primedice on: September 30, 2014, 04:46:05 AM
Interesting information what with Apple users saying that their computers are virus / malware free with this discovery you have to be careful whatever os your using... Feel for you 100btc is a lot to go missing  Shocked

All I can say is there is no issue with the security of primedice, I'm hoping OP will consider editing his post within the next few days with the full story of what happened. I'm not going to share what happened without permission but once he explains you will understand why I've chosen not to.

There are users who choose to store hundreds of coins on their account at one time and have had zero issues, if you have any fear just enable 2FA and as long as your PC is secure you should be good.
1542  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game |1% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: September 30, 2014, 01:09:09 AM
I wish there was a way to make PvP provably fair. After qwerty331 just won a bunch (around 130 btc) I asked him to dice duel 2-10 BTC and he accused me of being an owner of the website on an alt account.
Which is obviously stupid, because clearly I'm not but he has a point. There is no way of him knowing whether I am or am not an owner.

This is why I don't understand your reasoning of not accepting investments. When I asked you why, you said something like, "until there's a provably fair way to prove I'm not betting against the bank-roll then there's no way I'll even think about accepting investments." With that said why are you letting PvP run? If that really is the reason you're not accepting investments then you should also not allow PvP to be played imo.

The difference is PVP is 100% provably fair if you play against your friends or someone reputable you know, investments can never be provably fair. I haven't been able to figure out an instant way to make PVP duels 100% provably fair, If you think we should switch to a non-instant system or complicate it further we can but it would probably ruin any fun someone could get out of PVP. If you have suggestions on how to make it instant & simple or some sort of replacement for PVP given its waning popularity I'll consider it. At the end of the day the incentive for me to play against other players on PVP and win a few bitcoins is extremely low while the incentive for a brand new investment dice site owner to have a whale win infinite funds is much higher. But that's actually a really solid point, I'll consider disabling PVP in the meantime if you think that is best it is barely used anyways currently.

Lots of massive winners and losers these past two days, I'll try and post some statistics later.

for now (also thanks for the above screenshots):

He managed to recover from a -150 loss to profit 2-3x before settling in at a significant profit.

yeah right to see blocks of 10 within 30 tosses would take prolly even longer than hitting 20 straight! ..this string game you get sweeped with streaks of red like it's somehow "fair" for the game to cheat , just because you are up!!!?  Shocked hmmm

Apparently kids will be kids. If you bother informing yourself about provably fair, you would not make a fool of yourself with your posts. Seriously, you say nothing about it being rigged when you get win streaks but you get red streaks and lose its rigged.

Come on grow up. You're gambling. If you can't understand the coin flip test itself, then you should stay away from playing any gambling games.

No point in arguing with trolls, if someone thinks the game is not fair they can verify their rolls and mathematically prove it. This is a trustless system if you choose to make it so.

You can verify your roll and prove it until there is something wrong with the verification script and then it's all like "Ooooh sorry wrong one, oops, guess we missed that in the 1 year of making PD3 and testing it." Then, a while later you learn that odds you have been wagering against were in fact not as advertised. So far, the only things that I know are 'provable' are the verification script was wrong that that thousands of people lost when in fact they should have won. THIS is proven.

Also, 100 bitcoins 'vanished' from a PD account:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=791367.60

This is also 'provable', thanks to blockchain

Other than that, PD is actually a decent site hahahaha Cheesy

That's already been solved, you can speak with the person who made the thread about what happened when he is willing to share it himself. Also, you don't have an understanding of how provable fairness works so there is no point in arguing or trying to persuade you of anything.

I've added you both to ignore, BBmod has accused every single provably fair site of being unfair and xfactor pretty exclusively posts FUD about PD along with highly thought out and intellectual comments such as "PD is gay".

Let's keep discussion focused please.

Finally removed the tool tips that appeared when you hovered over certain settings as many people complained this got in the way. Working on knocking out mobile optimizations now, sidebar is now functional on iPhone. We're readjusting some pop-ups/modals to better fit the screen.

etc won't show the tip anymore.

Feel free to keep suggestions coming our way, we'll do our best to address them.

around 37,500 bets were settled as losses when they should have been wins...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=208986.msg8441727#msg8441727

I think we all band together and ask for our money back. I am going to start a campaign for this! No more stealing and excuses!

Some of that is already settled. And its less than 37k even thou that should be around there . Mostly bets on high payouts like 9900x ware affected.

And pd3 is not affected by that.

Around 1 in 20,000 of all bets before PD3 will have been affected, regardless of payout multiplier. All bets had a chance of winning that was 0.005% less than advertised.

I'm not sure where the idea that only high-multiplier bets were affected came from; they're just as likely to be affected as any other bet.

Here's the current list of unclaimed rounded bets from PD2 at 2x multiplier. We ignored bets below a certain threshold (faucet bets).

Also I hope the new captchas aren't too annoying, the first hour they were implemented faucet claims were cut down to 1/3 their prior amount which shows how severe the botting issue probably was.

1548  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice 3 Bugs & Scams (My bad experience) on: September 27, 2014, 09:47:03 PM
There's a difference between responsibly reporting a bug and getting caught abusing one.  If I recall correctly your account was banned after this was detected and THEN you emailed us to report a bug which we caught you abusing.

I have no interest in discussing this matter further. It wasn't a particularly genius or profitable bug either, about 5 other people actively attempted to farm it and made a few bitcents. We're more than happy to credit people who responsibly disclose unreported exploits.
1549  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game |1% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: September 27, 2014, 09:36:29 PM
Stunna, i have serious problems with primedice.

First:
primedice.com didnt work for me and a few times i waintn so long but nothing happened. And then i realize that only primedice.com/play works. Dont know why?

Second:
Big problems with faucet. I use them very rare, only when i have nothing to deposit.  The problem is when i try to get faucet, i text captcha and then says "150 sec left...". After 5-6 minutes i again press faucet and then i got message "128 sec left...". So i can use faucet 5-6 times per hours. That's horrible becuase the timer is 160s.

Third:
Autobetting don't work. Crash every 2-3 bets and looks unplayable.

Fourth:
Page crashed every ~20 minutes. So last days i set martinagle and go outside. After half hour i come back and page crashed. Happens always.

So i decide to stop playing until this problems fix.

Do you plan to change or try to fix this, bacause i belive i am not only one who have this problems.

Thanks.
long list of real issues

This should be resolved now, was having issues with cloudflare redirecting API stuff to cloudflare pages earlier today.

Joined prime yesterday. Chucked 1.2 btc in.

Played from 200 sats and doubling if I lost.

Within just over 10k hands I lost 20 in a row lol
Happened to me. Started at 1 satoshi and went all the way to 0.04 bitcoin... not fun
Yep it's weird but after you bet long enought on 2x then you should change your seed as it throws ALOT of reds and i don't know why.

Doesn't work like that. There's no point in time where your seed 'should' be changed. The seeds ensure true randomness of the rolls. They ensure that every roll has the same chance of occurring. Read up on the verification tab if you need be. But you should not be concerned as to when you should be changing your seed, as it won't affect anything. Changing your seed will allow you to prove that all your prior rolls were not manipulated however.
So question, did you ever change the problem in the provably fair system we all addressed almost a year ago? The exact thing that people claimed is going on now...awful streaks occuring more then a 1% house edge should?...The thing that Just-dice had which you didn't which proved that you weren't provably fair unless someone changed their client seed every roll. Oh I forget the technicals...

Primedice has always been provably fair and our profit is actually less than 1% of what has been wagered at the moment.

We now use the exact same system as Just-dice however, which I agree is more user friendly.

Working on pushing all deposits through. They should all go through automatically 1 block after the fix is implemented.

Waiting for our developer to get back and finish sorting out this fix.

I'm looking for some input on what people expect from a VIP room or if it is needed at all.  For example should VIP chat be visible to everyone even those who can't type in it or be hidden? Right now chat is restricted to people who have wagered 0.001 or more to prevent spam. Also does anyone have any suggestions for the keyboard commands, would you all like something similar to JD's commands or want changes made?

I think the downgrading of the importance of chat messages for level and the .001 requirement have greatly reduced the spam in chat.  The mods are also doing a nice job.  So I would suggest the need for a VIP room is not as great.  However, if your highrollers want it, you should probably accommodate them.

If you go the VIP route I'd be mindful of the effect on new users.  You want to be welcoming without exposing every high roller to endless begs and rain begs.  Though the mods usually crack down on that pretty quickly.

The only real trick for keyboard commands is to make sure there is a way to disable them while chatting.  PD is great in that you can chat while betting or watching all bets.  JD did not have that.  So that may be an especially important consideration.

Thank you for PD and good luck!

I appreciate the input, we'd have keyboard commands off by default and make them disable while chat is open. With regards to the VIP room, the main thing I'm wondering is whether or not it should be hidden, main chat quality seems to have skyrocketed though since the restriction and nerfs though which is nice  Smiley. Something else we're looking into is making PVP more engaging and interesting but I'm not quite sure how we could best do that.

WOW PD3isWOW NICE 9900x WON 10k  AMAZING Smiley CONGRATULATION

That's an incredible win  Smiley

I'm looking for some input on what people expect from a VIP room or if it is needed at all.  For example should VIP chat be visible to everyone even those who can't type in it or be hidden? Right now chat is restricted to people who have wagered 0.001 or more to prevent spam. Also does anyone have any suggestions for the keyboard commands, would you all like something similar to JD's commands or want changes made?

Update Notes 9/25

  • Official API info can now finally be found here: https://primedice.com/api
  • Jackpot promotion is now over, rolling a 77.77 should no longer trigger the jackpot effect. Edge is back at 1% on a typical roll, stay tuned for future promotions.
  • A very small number of users have enabled two-factor authentication please do so under your profile if you store a significant amount of coins.

Not sure how hard it would be to check but anyhow, what was the biggest win on the jackpot roll?

I think the biggest jackpot was with like 0.2 btc but it was also linked in this thread. Just scroll back a "couple" pages Smiley

Biggest jackpot won was on a 0.8 BTC bet (8+ BTC win). Thought I had the pic saved some where but I don't unfortunately

All bets can be verified to ensure there was no manipulation. The house edge is a fixed 1% and is backed by strong cryptography.

Read up on the verification tab if you're unsure about this. One of the advantages of betting on a Bitcoin website like Primedice means you don't have the "Is this site rigged?" question in the back of your mind like most common casinos. There's simply no way it can be (Without users being able to find out at least).

Just email support@primedice.com if you need help on understanding how and why there is no way our bets can be 'rigged' through our provably fair system.

I'm not going to waste time arguing with someone who wants to remain ignorant to the reality of provable fairness, this is a near trustless system.

This fucked things up for me.

Withdrew from my PD bank account;
https://blockchain.info/address/1ML54Fof1zjTTsABDjpyaC7j2xQkUaEJyw

Money never arrived (time zone is GMT+2);

I HAVE NEVER VISITED BTCSMART OR ANYTHING THAT'S RELATED TO IT!

This isn't really a hack, someone is just spamming the blockchain with 1 satoshi deposits. This could be an issue for cashouts though, what we'll do is delete all the 1 satoshi deposits from our system and ignore all deposits under TX fee.
Well my BTC are vanished, as you can see in the screenshots the adresses are correct.
And yeah, it's an issue with cashout I lost my money. Would appriceate getting them reimbursed on my account at least since I found this.

I sent you a PM.

Edit: I think your wallet is out of sync.
