I know but maybe he just loves lvl up like rpg game and get rewards for that

I never confirmed that faucet was being removed, I just weighed the idea of replacing it with something better.
1502  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game |1% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: October 14, 2014, 01:39:41 AM
What is the house edge, anyway? .91%, .92%, or 1%?

1% currently. It was .91% for a period of time while we ran the jackpot promotion.

I could tell you it was fair and you could take my word for it.

Or you could mathematically PROVE it was fair and un-manipulated:

That's great and all

I think I would have respected them more if they had just vanished.

But to wait this long before making any kind of contact is just unbelievable.

Even if they lost access to their forum account I'm sure there's some way they could have got the word out. Make a new forum account. Chat on any of the other sites where they know people. Anything but just sitting silent this long leaving everyone to sweat.

My guess is they got cold feet, perhaps someone got an accurate dox on them and they wanted to paint themselves as victims and return a small % of the coins rather than exit the community as confirmed thieves. Otherwise I don't see why it would take them this long to reach out.

Don't sacrifice the players enjoyment over "I can't read all these damn emails!!!".

Is adding more support an option? One who only deals with faucet/chat/stupid problems. I will volunteer.

I'm not looking for either extra help or sympathy. It's annoying but not a massive deal to get 50+ emails a day simply from people complaining about having lost free money. If this is the type of community the faucet will encourage that is my principle concern though. The cost is no longer a major issue either as it was prior.

I'm sure the people who actually claim the faucet would prefer something different to take its place as well provided the reward was still equal. Still looking for suggestions on that.
1506  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game |1% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: October 12, 2014, 10:18:45 PM
bringing back whitelist would solve this problem

Whitelist accounts were auctioned off publicly, half the whitelist were botters.
1507  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game |1% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: October 12, 2014, 10:08:10 PM
I started with faucet to get a feel of the game. I was new to dicing until I came to play at primedice so the faucet is how I learned to play. I went from freeloading the faucet to wagering 550+ BTC.

I am a regular on Primedice and deposit a few times per week, but in between those deposit I depend on the faucet to have fun. What will we do while waiting for a deposit that can take more than an hour?

Faucet, leveling up, and tips is what keeps me coming back to this site. Everything factors into the user experience and these things is what keeps people hook on your site.

If another dice site copys you and open up a faucet, they will take away 70-80% of your regular customers.

Stunna, if you value the user experience and the "fun" factor to the game, please leave faucet as is.

This is really well put and I think EarthBound is probably the "happy model" for what you expected from the faucet.  End faucet abuse and the support spam that goes with it, not the faucet.

Thanks for Primedice!

There probably are plenty of best case scenarios but the faucet is what causes the majority of spam on the website and account level farming/sales. How about an alternative that still rewards leveling up but in a less spammy and more difficult to game way?
1508  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game |1% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: October 12, 2014, 08:37:31 AM
I'm pondering the removal of the faucet more seriously now, the cost of it has significantly decreased but the incredible amount of support emails that center around the faucet itself or amounts under 0.0005 from faucet bettors along with a much larger userbase has decreased the quality of the support we can offer severely. Many argue that it must be removed as it lowers the quality of the chat and community as well.

What are the thoughts of everyone and if faucet is removed what should levels be used for?

Thanks

faucet must be erase for lower level

let's say...from lv 1 ~ 15
that account can't have a faucet

People would just further farm up accounts and sell them then.

why 999dice is on 6th place?

Because it's widely known to be a scam.

PD3 down for over an hour?
Wake up!!!    Cheesy

We'll be back really soon.  Sorry, this wasn't the expected downtime we mentioned.
1512  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game |1% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: October 11, 2014, 11:52:53 PM
I have messaged stunna countless times since months now to IP ban me from he's website as I have a some how sort of addiction to the game. Whenever I get bitcoins, I usually lose them to he's site and all he does is ignore the request.

I feel that this is extremely imature and that a gambling website should not treat their customers like this, he talks all about playing fair and everything but when a customer can't control he's self and its behind the scenes from the public. He doesn't give a shit basically if you lose, just ip ban me already jezus.

If you use Linux or a Mac, run this command:

Code:
sudo bash -c "echo \"127.0.0.1     primedice.com\" >> /etc/hosts"

Stunna hates what you do that shit, and will instant ban you.

In Windows, the file is at c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.txt open it as an admin and append the line:

Code:
127.0.0.1     primedice.com

and Stunna's wrath will be instant and permanent

Honestly, we don't keep persistent track of IP's nor do we have an easy mechanism to ban IP's. Please take steps to ban yourself from the website. I can lock your account if you wish.

I'm pretty sure this is a textbook example of irresponsible advertising. Cheesy

Nope, we definitely had that ad made unfortunately. Obviously this is in extreme poor taste, and will be swapped out ASAP. I take full responsibility for that super unethical ad given my lack of involvement in marketing lately. I will be more involved in what limited marketing we do from now on and something like this won't happen again. Sorry guys
There really is nothing wrong with it, trading and gambling is the same thing

Perhaps, but the poor taste aspect of it is trying to attract traders who are chasing losses.

Was very enjoyable to say the least. I never usually let my self get caught up in big bets, but I couldn't resist this time. It was definitely worth it though Cheesy

Sorry if I won a decent amount of your coins.. I shoulda let you guys start out for a bit first
who remembers these images?

I really do miss the clouds

Going to have some expected downtime within the next hour. We are doing a lot of server maintenance/behind the scenes stuff so the downtime could potentially be around 2 hours.

well stunna, looks like another dice site has ran away

you''ve been right the whole time

When the amount at risk > the reputation there has almost always been a scam. I don't see why anyone would expect brand new anonymous people to be trustworthy with countless thousands of coins. Dooglus was well trusted in this community before people even considered investing a single coin with him. The people behind Dicebit, diceninja, onedice and the dozens of others of investment sites will keep relaunching and the same people who were scammed will likely forget continue to invest.

I'm not going to bother to keep ringing alarms about this issue because I know that most people will choose to remain ignorant to the risks or just move their money to some sort of cloud mining ponzi scheme. If you want to truly own bitcoin, hold the private keys. Current investment sites are all negative expected value from my point of view, bitcoin is a solid investment in its own right. If there is an instant, simple and secure way to make investments fair I would have already implemented it.

People list the biggest negative of primedice as not offering investments but assuming I did you would have to trust me to not only play against the investors but also to properly secure your bitcoins. I'm not going to replace a system that is finally verifiable/fair and secure for everyone involved with one that isn't. Few people even consider the legal risks of offering such a service and the risk of your life even, imagine if someone hunted down an investment operator.

In my opinion, nobody in the bitcoin community whether anonymous or not has neither the level of trust nor capability to offer a stable investment scheme when all risks are accounted for. JD was the closest we would ever get to that point due to legality.  I'd want nothing more than to make PD community sourced, dooglus has truly created a marvel of a system. The downside is in the risk. A lot of people think we are being greedy by not wanting to crowd-source, but honestly we'd make a lot more if we did. What generally ends up happening with investments is an investor will lose a chunk of their money to a whale who wins and a person who would not normally gamble will blow their entire bankroll, this has been proven to happen again and again.

I firmly believe that our unwillingness to accept investments despite all the potential gains is a testament to the fact that we are honest people, long term believers in bitcoin and not simply looking to scam or make a quick buck. We will be making some unrelated changes to our service soon as it is time for everyone to start preparing for the long run.

Websites like this and every rental/lease property advertisement on the planet are the reason why the word "prime" is becoming more and more devalued :|

We're going to be performing the mandatory server seed change shortly that I mentioned before.

You will be prompted to choose a new client seed on your next roll.

Edit: There will be expected downtime as we may migrate servers as well, this will happen either today or tomorrow.

What is AKCoinMiner's betting strategy?  That would be useful to know.  Anyone have the series of bets he does?

It varies but it generally seems to most often be a 2.66x payout, it's difficult to follow his bet pattern it is pretty distinct.

The house sustained a significant loss today, somewhere between 500-600 coins due to massive risk taking from today's whale(s) who persistently deposited 10-25 coins at a time until turning individual deposits into 300+ coin gains on multiple occasions.

Grats to him on turning around some significant losses.  Smiley

EDIT: He's doing some pretty significantly bets currently, check out the highroller tab to keep an eye on the action

Edit:
I have a withdrawal in "Pending" status, but a newer one went through right away (neither one is a large amount)
Original post:
Are all withdrawals "Pending" now, or is my account actually waiting for "manual review"?

Certain cashouts get held for manual review pretty rarely unless the hotwallet was empty in which case all are. If this didn't go through please let me know.

Primedice touched 10,000 coins wagered today between a few whales, some pretty intense action this past week.
