100,000 bets to go! Shouldn't be long now...
1604  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game | 0.91% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: September 15, 2014, 02:35:37 AM
BONUS PRIZE: If you wager over 5 BTC and place in the top 7 you will receive 10 BTC EXTRA, regardless of where you place in that order
BONUS PRIZE: If you wager over 1 BTC and place in the top 7 you will receive 2 BTC EXTRA, regardless of where you place in that order

A couple of questions, to help clarify the rules:

1) do you mean "over"? So bets of 0.1 BTC don't qualify but 0.10000001 BTC do?
2) if all 7 of the top 7 bets are over 5 BTC, will you be paying out 10 BTC to all 7 winners? What if they're all from the same account? Will you pay that account 74 BTC?

0.1 bets are all good. Other question answered above. Misunderstood Marco in the other thread. It was always meant to be a singular prize.
1605  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [Primedice.com] 1 Billion Bets Giveaway - 5+ BTC! on: September 15, 2014, 02:20:43 AM
Each of the two bonus prizes can only be won once. Sorry for late clarification. Will make sure everyone knows.

STUNNA:

How many bonus prizes can be claimed? If 2 people bet 5btc and are both in the top 7. Do they both get 10btc extra?

The same person can win multiple prizes, yep!

But can different people win the same bonus prize? (that was my question!)

Yep!
1610  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [Primedice.com] 1 Billion Bets Giveaway - 5+ BTC! on: September 14, 2014, 02:45:12 PM

Sorry to rain on the parade, but you know very well those bets will be made by people spamming 0.00000001 bets.

Sincerely xChg

If it takes up to bet 1,000,000,100 to find someone who has wagered over 0.1 BTC then that's fine. It doesn't matter if they're dust bets

Can't be too sure about that, but by judging by our current number of bets per day, it should be around 2:00pm GMT Monday (23 hours 30 minutes from when this topic was posted). This isn't assured, so it's best if you watch & wait yourself as it comes in closer!

You can see how many bets have been made and how far off we are by looking at the ticker on www.primedice.com in the header (Or on the front page if you're not logged into an account)

Don't have enough money to bet 0.1+ BTC?

That's all good! We'll give you free money anyway. Simply post your Primedice username ON THE OTHER THREAD and we'll credit you a free 0.001 BTC! If I recognise your name for good reasons I may even give you a bit (or a lot) more!

Stay tuned for giveaway #2 which will be posted the moment this one is concluded.

Good luck everyone who participates!

Why did you copy the design word for word pretty much?

Because I am (was) a huge fan of JD and the description is perfect and easy to understand, why would I rewrite it in my own words for the sake of rewriting it in my own words?

This is just a weak attempt to profit off someone else's hard work.

You were too lazy to even write your own post:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=238613.0

versus:

For those of you that aren't aware of JD we offer the same features albeit improved when possible:

* low 1% house edge
* near-instant rolls
* off-the blockchain, so no blockchain spam
* win up to 1 million times your bet
* pick your own odds of winning
* lively on-site chat room
* provably fair (of course)
* roll "high" or "low"
* keyboard shortcuts for quicker, easier play
* Gamble with Bitcoin, Litecoin, Darkcoin, Dogecoin and Peercoin

For investors, here's the feature list:

* massive 1% house edge Wink
* investing is easy and instant; click the 'invest' tab for details
* take your investment out instantly too
* site operator (that's me) is a long-standing forum member in good standing with the community
* invest as little as 0.001 BTC; no upper limit
* net profit is split between the house and the investors as follows: house gets 10%, investors get 90%.

Your proof of reserves is also a JD cold wallet: https://blockchain.info/address/19Zmw5kMbkTjA7qRUdUEiwLqgRaMRRLDkh . Did you honestly spend more than 15 mins from start to finish on this?

On next block any pending deposits will all reach the effected accounts. ~10mins or so

Deposit/withdraw should be working fine right now, we had some bitcoin-d downtime earlier right after I fell asleep. If you made a transaction during a specific time period it is stuck in limbo and we will try and automatically push it through shortly.
1619  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game | 0.91% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: September 13, 2014, 01:57:38 AM
Also I've started investigating people from PD2 who were effected by our edge being 1.01% instead of the advertised 1% due to rounding. This didn't effect every bet this only effected certain bets if your result was rounded. As stated before this came to my attention after the launch of PD3.

It doesn't appear that too many people were effected in terms of bets over faucet amounts for the standard 2x rolls. We're still working on compiling lists for the two specific rollovers where the edge was much higher, with how our old DB was setup looking up something that specific is pretty challenging.

Here's the current list:

Will try to reach out to larger people via email if they ever emailed us as we continue to explore this. If you own one of these accounts you will be required to prove your ownership by signing a deposit address or providing your old password.

In terms of BTC value I don't think too much was effected as the vast majority of our rolls were dust. Will keep collecting information and working with our PD2 developer though and will do my best to resolve this. This obviously wasn't intentional, in PD3 we actually over state our house edge (it is only .91%)

You should really move over to PD, doog.  You can't invest, but you can play and chat.  Much less risky than most other sites.

OT: I completely agree with what you and Stunna said.  I'm still butthurt my faucet dropped, but that's just me.

You're right - it's probably the only place to play these days if you want a decent max bet.

But for chatting it's no good. The chat is too narrow, each message is too tall, it scrolls too fast because people get rewarded with achievements for chatting random junk.

And to be honest I'd much rather play on a site where my inevitable massive loss is split between hundreds of investors, rather than all ending up in Stunna's pocket. Smiley

Solid points, just edited chatting to no longer give much XP. Only longer messages will give any at all with messages under 3 words being ignored completely from your counter.

Also, the way we have chat bubbles setup right now with the name above the message is definitely pretty inefficient:

We're working on fixing mobile sidebar issues, then I'd like to implement a VIP room for higher levels along with a few chat improvements and keyboard commands (all JD players miss this).

With regards to investments, I can see us some day implementing it if we figure out a provably fair scheme. Right now there are no plans to do this though, there's other concerns as well. Right now I place the liability on everything on myself, if coins were somehow compromised from balances I can easily replenish them with my coins. And if I were to somehow forced to give up all my coins I have enough fiat saved up from full time working to buy new bitcoins to replace them.

Effectively it's a really manageable and fool proof system, any potential risk/failure would be placed on me rather than a potential investor. When provably fair investing is possible I'd like to properly do this by getting all invested coins insured. This could all happen within a few months (about 5 years in PD time  Wink. ) Right now development of stuff is pretty slow as I only trust two people to develop stuff for primedice. When I start getting decent at code I'll probably quit my job to work full time on PD development/other projects.
