I predict 0.0015 will be the bottom

Hard to tell really. If 0.0015 will be the bottom the price will not drop significiantly... However, I am afraid this is just the beginning of the exodus from Monero to Bitcoin and along the way back to fiat money.

Please TC, a little bit more effort. According to you what has changed in 2 weeks except speculation movements? Is there now a reason to exit Monero for good? Maybe some people fear BTC will go significantly lower and wanna cash out their BTC to buy back in later? Kindly add some meat to your statements, mkay?

Technologically no reason to exit from Monero other than weeks/months ago.
However, pricewise yes since there are still bagholders who try to pump the coin up and are trying artificially respirate the Zombie.

There was no community support at 0.004 when I was asking if there is so now we just need to find the pricepoint where the community is unamoniously supporting the price.
Looks like we are not there right now.
This time it might be new lows and really it is a possibility to establish at 0.0005... But for the trolls, I am not saying it goes there. Putting exact pricepoints is stupid since the decision to enter or exit should be based on the sentiment.
When people have almost given up with Monero and this thread is forgotten for a while, it might be a good time to buy (in case the coin will not die before).

The trend is over.  I got in at .00125, got out at .00285.

More stuff like this, so I will feel more comfortable in buying again.  Cheesy

I think there are too many bulls still when it comes to timing of restarting buying operations.
2024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 25, 2015, 08:46:20 AM
Could the bears be so kind as to get it over with? be hairy and manly, this creeping downwards is bloody boring!

They want to dump the coins without crashing the price.

Exactly.
There is a pressure to sell the coins right now.
Note: I am not a buyer since the situation looks pretty ugly and still the general sentiment is pretty positive.

I sold above 0.003 so if I buy back in even now I would make nice profit.
What got me to sell was the fact that I was asking the community to support 0.004 (you can see this from my post history) and I got answears from the people who like to troll me that "no we are not going to support that price" so I simply drew my conclusion "fine - why should I hold a coin that is not supported at that price since most likely it comes down" and I was right this time. It is coming down like a rock but apparently there are still people holding the coins and they are just looking for exit... However, the longer they waite, the lower their exit will be.
The fact that most likely Monero fails means that most likely it fails... I think people do not get this well. If Monero fails, it means the investors lose pretty much their investment.
2025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 24, 2015, 09:33:01 AM
Now it is time to focus on other things than buying the coin. No idea of catching the falling knife especially when the knife has not fallen that much.
Personally what I have done is to pay all the bills and stacking up fiat.
I am also doing other project so I don't have that much time for trolling here and of course, buying the coin.
No point in buying a coin that only has so high probability to go down at this point.
Better to buy when the price is low, and not necessarily even at low price if it is on the way to 0.

I always thought you were a troll trying to manipulate the price, but to be so blatant--subtlety is not your art.

I know you guys need an exit, therefore you are attacking me and attempting to pump the price.  Wink

I hate to say this but sub 0.001 is now a possibility.

0.000 is a possibility. so what. no risk no reward.

I have sold over 95 % of my coins and I have no intention to rebuy them unless I do not get them cheap enough.
If Monero ever moons big time, I am making nice money even with less than 5 % of my initial investment.
Funny thing I do not even have any temptation to buy coins at these prices.
And I sold them long time ago, not today or yesterday.

Do you guys really think that it can go under 0.0024?

Absolutely.
It is not even very far away... Looks like the 0.00265 Fib has been broken so it is doomed to go lower.
Short term is bearish... Mid term still bullish and long term bearish.
I hate to face the reality as it is but this is the current situation.
I was anticipating new ATHs soon but it didn't come so down we go.
The good thing is, when the price declines, the community gets more Moneros for their bitcoins so patience is the virtue here.

What do you mean by "long term bearish"?

From last year. We are still sub 0.0111 which was the ATH.

I thought when we are speculating about the long-term being bearish we mean in the future not the past.

Were you really anticipating an all time high from this last uptrend? Grin
and because it did not hit an all time high which was virtually impossible, now its going down? Tongue

Hopefully we have a strong uptrend after the summer.  Sorry fluffypony, northern hemisphere bias. Smiley

Yes, it has to show some real strength in order to have a true change in trend.
Personally I am refusing to support these levels now.
If there is a buy wall, it is a good chance to dump, not pump - IMO. And this is the situation currently (I say this because I am speculating some trolls appears later and reposts these words of mine).

In the future I don't know... Most likely Monero will die, chances for this is still pretty high.
However if it will not die, it will go to sky highs and replaces bitcoin (marketcapwise).

I don't suggest overweighting in Monero. Remember the diversification among the assets. I am not available for buying Monero since I am preparing other business right now totally unrelated to Monero.

I'm planning on buying some more monero, but I need to get out of a bitcoin long position first. I'm probably looking at making a substantial purchase closer to monero's birthday.

Bitcoin in 2015 has been the biggest disappointment since my ex-wife.

Perhaps the "Congratulations Monero" buys will give a little pump for the coin.

No wonder.
Bitcoin doesn't offer anything worth of value.
It is a mere payment token - just like Amazon gift card. Nothing more.
2033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 10, 2015, 11:03:18 AM
The direction is UP. In much higher probability than 52/48, which already qualifies for huge raises in Poker.

Dont forget the 1year aniversary next week, i am expecting some moves related to that

Why are you waiting for that? Is it some kind of a reason for the price to rise?  Shocked
2034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 09, 2015, 10:27:51 AM
Nobody seems to want to sell or buy Monero.
Perhaps a little more dumping going than buying, hence the price declines. Probably the miners dump, in such low volume days the miners have more impact on the price fluctuation than in days of larger volumes.
What do you think the drop in btc will cause?

My speculation:
People want to short Monero and btc and once btc hits the bottom, people convert their cash into btc which is further converted into XMR.

Currently the markets look pretty "boring"...

There is triple bottom around 0.0028...  Shocked

18k buywall at 0.003

Either it was pulled or blown through. Ouch.
Really hope we can hold at these levels...

I would not mind if it drops below 0.002... It would be cool to buy below that again... I think the minimum will be 0.0015 which was the same level the guy dumped his coins on the legendary vid so this is kind of resistance level IMO.
What do you think?
2037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 07, 2015, 05:54:50 AM
XMR is above DRK again.

XMR will be above everything. We are so close to 5 mBTC.

XMR > BTC in 2015 !!!  Grin

Very unlikely this year but in a few years it is a possibility and within longer term even pretty probable if there is no negative black swan event.
2038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 07, 2015, 05:50:16 AM
What's the pontentil of this coin? price predictions in dollar per coin after 1 year?

I predict XMR prices will trend logarithmically against BTC, just as BTC hyperdeflates vs fiat.

After 1 year, 0.01 BTC.  After two years, 0.1.  XMR/BTC parity in 3 years.

In dollar terms, XMR should be $100 in a year assuming BTC goes to $10k.

Such is the power of Gresham's Law!   Cool

I agree.
However, the price should rise a little to reach 0.01. However, it is entirely possible even to have a strong support there.
2039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 06, 2015, 07:40:03 PM
"Wall observation"

Monero price looks incredibly stable.
And even relatively modest buying will trigger nice bull run, on the other hand, the dumping needs some loose coins to get the price sinking any significiant number.
I am expecing soon someone making a move up or down.  Grin
Trading volumes are sinking.

Calm before the storm. -Unknown

Smooth can remove (I continue the serie of "smooth can remove this").
2040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 06, 2015, 08:41:19 AM
Are people forgetting the single large volume buys that took us to 400+? Seems weird how people are scared the price went down again.

Monero can realistically replace btc in 3 years (the most optimistic scenario).

No  Cheesy

I am glad that you had such a fundamental arguments backing your point.
Monero is more than 3 years behind in terms of development.
Monero is probably more than 3 years behind in terms of network effects.
Monero is probably more than 3 years behind in terms of being known to the public.
Monero is more than 3 years behind in terms of amount of news sources covering it.

Monero won't replace bitcoin. Not in a long time. And if bitcoin gets replaced by a fully anon coin, chances are it won't be monero. I think monero really should carve out its own niche. There's no need to compete against bitcoin.

Network effect is easy to achieve. Just a bullish overall trend will first attract VC money (this increases the marketcap which will help increasing even more network effect which increases the marketcap which increases even more the network effect which increases....

Development will follow pretty fast if the network effect is enough. Investors will invest in infrastructure and the development will be made in many ways.
That's how it was the case with btc. And if XMR gets bullish trend, there are for sure investors who want to invest in the bullish investment vehicle.
Nothing is 100 % sure, but this is pretty sure.

And I did not say it is a realistic scenario for Monero to reach BTC in marketcap in 3 years but it certainly is possible. Bitcoin started pretty much from nowhere and in 3 years it reached pretty decent market capitalisation - in 2011 the highest price was 32 usd and there was hardly anyone investing into Bitcoin.

Monero has the later mover advantage over bitcoin. Bitcoin have had to put a lot of resources on pioneering crypto currency, Monero on the other hand gets a set table.

3 years is on one hand a long time, on the other hand it is pretty darn short time. It's pretty hard to predict at this point how Monero adoption will go forward. Pretty much it needs some positive comments publically from people to whom the sheep listen to.

More realistic scenario for overtaking btc in marketcapwise is definetely 3+ years, but 3 years definetely is a possibility.
I am not jumping off the cliff if this will not happen.

I think it is important to keep on discussing this thing and rather aim at higher than lower.  Grin
