Not yet there is still a lot of ground for it to cover as far as i remember the price starts from $7.8 it then starts rising to $9 and sometimes falls back to $7.8 or the current situation happen it will most likely reach $11 and finally get dumped super hard.

Again i might be wrong this time as it is  bullish market it might just break the $11 mark and reach $20 easily. Currently the team seems really silent I'm sure as they start speaking the price will boom.

Yeah I mean $12-$13 is the ATH and it is at $11.24 right now according to Coinmarketcap. I am really interested in its 24 hour trading volume though, the last few days have been 10%+. I certainly would be holding it for the long hall.
2042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find new cryptocurrencies before they take off? on: December 14, 2017, 04:33:59 AM
You can search around on this forum, look through the top 100 coins or go to a ICO calendar site like token market. Then you actually have to do the research yourself and evaluate the coin. Which is why investing is not as easy as everyone makes it.
2043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: OmiseGO on: December 14, 2017, 04:21:48 AM
This project will be huge in a few months, i have been following this altcoin for a few weeks, i could not understand what was the real purpose of this.

But came on, each coin is just $10,50, i will give a try to this one.

I have been looking for more options to diversify my portfolio, i dont know what to do anymore. I have invested in ethereum and litecoin for a long time, and i got tired because the price has rised a lot, so i dont think that it is worth it to invest right now in those.

Anyway, i am in a telegram group and they all are saying that omisego is going to do a x2 during the following  days.

It is going to 2x why? Likely it is just people randomly speculating or trying to pump for their own benefit.

2045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: OmiseGO on: December 13, 2017, 09:38:27 PM
I think it wont hurt and is not a bad idea to have around this percentage of OMG in the portfolio. The price assumption of ~$20 in 2018 is really pessimistic if you ask me. Im also this pessimistic all the time and the market keeps proving me wrong constantly while prices shoot up. If we really should see a total market cap of 2-3 trillion as some people predict, $20 should be the bottom for OMG. Overall I think the project is solid and Im happy to hold some OMG in my portfolio.

It is better to under evaluate than over :p I would be perfectly fine with $20 at the end of 2018, but yeah I agree if the market keeps moving even at a 30-40% rate it can certainly exceed $20.

I am really interested in their mission, as crypto becomes more mainstream it will be good to have a financial service that is targeting people without bank accounts. (If I am understanding what I am reading. )
2046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: OmiseGO on: December 13, 2017, 04:40:44 PM
OmiseGo has no good movement since last Vitalik call. But i think OmiseGo need to release the wallet, POS reward than the price will go to moon.

A lot of the developments are planned for 2018, so I am hoping that will be a big year. It is at around $11 which is too high to make a investment imo so I will try and get it under $10.
2047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A friend sent me .03 BTC - what to do now? on: December 13, 2017, 05:12:52 AM

OP if the money means alot to you then you should cash out. Only invest what you can afford to lose, and know that bitcoin is not a "safe" investment. You should do a lot of research on it before you actually decide to invest.
2048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost private key. on: December 13, 2017, 04:59:34 AM
Unless you have your coins on a platform like Coinbase ( they dont give you your private key ) then you are pretty screwed. Which is why security is very important regardless of how much you are investing.
2049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH price going crazy on: December 13, 2017, 04:13:59 AM
A correction is certainly needed, it flew from $300-650ish without any dips.
2050  Economy / Economics / Re: Why 21,000,000 Supply? on: December 13, 2017, 04:01:20 AM

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/satoshis-genius-unexpected-ways-in-which-bitcoin-dodged-some-cryptographic-bullet-1382996984/
Code:
"The 21 Million BTC limit

One somewhat controversial property of Bitcoin is its fixed currency supply. There are currently 25 BTC being generated every 10 minutes, and this amount cuts in half every four years. All in all, there will never be more than 21 million BTC in existence. On the other hand, each bitcoin can be split into 100 million pieces (called "satoshis"), so it will not become difficult to use Bitcoin if its value goes up the same way it would become problematic to trade with dollars if each penny was enough to buy a car. Thus, all in all, the total number of currency units that will ever exist stands at 2,100,000,000,000,000: 2.1 quadrillion, or about 250.899. In choosing this figure, Satoshi was much luckier, or wiser, than most people realize. First of all, the number is considerably less than 264 - 1, the largest integer that can be stored in a standard integer on a computer - go above that, and the integers wrap around to zero like an odometer.

Second, however, there is another, lower threshold that the total satoshi count manages to fall just below: the largest possible integer that can be exactly represented in floating point format. Integers are not the only kind of number that computers can store; to handle decimal numbers, computers use a format known as floating point representation. Floating point representation is essentially a binary version of scientific notation. For example, here are some values that you may be familiar with if you studied any physics:

Mass of the Earth: 5.972 * 1024 kg
Mass of the Sun: 1.989 * 1030 kg
    Speed of light: 2.998 * 108 m/s
    One lightyear: 9.460 * 1015 m
    Mass of a proton: 1.672 * 10-27 kg
    Planck length: 1.616 * 10-35 m

Notice how scientific notation allows you to express all of these values with reasonable accuracy despite their wildly varying scales. Floating point notation is essentially scientific notation in binary; when you store the number 9.625, your computer stores "1.001101 * 1011" (or rather, it stores 01000000 00100011 01000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000, which is the same thing in high-precision serialized form). In this high-precision form, the "significand" (the part that's not the exponent) has 52 bits. What this means is that high-precision (more precisely, "double precision") floating point numbers are good enough to exactly store integers up to 253, but not higher - if you go higher, you start lopping off digits at the end. Bitcoin's 250.9 satoshis are, in exponential terms, just below this maximum. "

It is really interesting. 21m is a lot, but its small enough to allow bitcoin to reach $10k's+ which is very eye catching for a lot of people. So I am sure that played some sort of role.
2051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin to be over $5000 in 2018? on: December 13, 2017, 03:38:53 AM
It sounds insane to think it could jump to $5k. However the market is very irrational so I would not be surprised
2052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: OmiseGO on: December 13, 2017, 03:36:16 AM
You seem to be really convinced about it, but there are not reasons to see that pump because we haven't heard anything from the dev's during the last few days.

it is a good project, but it still need more development, i really trust in this altcoin, but it is not at the level of their other competitors.

Its going to reach 15-20 dollars this week.

If i was you, i would put all those funds in another crypto, omisego has been launched a long time a go, and they have not been one of the most brilliant projects that are on the market right now.

Waves is touching the moon right now, why dont you invest in there?

A lot of their development is supposed to happen in 2018 so there is room for improvement. So I am hoping they will be able to target more people without bank accounts.

It seems that it is fairly jumpy from $7-10. Which might be a good time to pick up some coins.
2053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So many Coin is going to ICO ? What is going on ? on: December 13, 2017, 03:23:04 AM
Lots of ICO's are appearing because it is a good way to crowdfund for a business. Most of the ICO's on the market have no utility and are a bad way to "invest".
2054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Super Bitcoin SBTC? on: December 13, 2017, 03:02:36 AM
I wouldnt even collect it, sounds like a fail.
2055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / OmiseGO on: December 12, 2017, 10:40:37 PM
Check out my Medium thread : Everything you need to know about OmiseGo

I am interested in placing more money into OmiseGO however I am not sure if I can justify putting 10% of my portfolio into it. The team is stellar which is always good when you are investing in a coin, and the advisors are certainly great. However it is unclear as to what the advisors do, daily, weekly, monthly consulting? Who knows.

As to the actual technology I think it is effective and could go mainstream, especially if they can get more people to use it in the foreign countries that a large percent of people dont use bank accounts. I also have been reading more into the POS implementation that hasn't been released if I am not mistaken.

[Edit : I sure am glad that I invested, and will continue to buy some more coins]
Current Market Cap :  $1,049,007,636 USD

Price : $10.28

102,042,552 OMG / 140,245,398 OMG

What are your thoughts on OMG?
2056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [OMG] OmiseGO - Speculation & Discussion on: December 12, 2017, 10:28:37 PM
I am looking to invest quite a bit into this, but I need it to drop a bit more before I can invest. Hoping that it can reach $20 in 6 months.
2057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH correction? on: December 12, 2017, 10:26:51 PM
Nothing has changed tech wise so I was very surprised to see the huge increase, I am looking to buy some more but I will need to wait for it to come back down.

"There is no single person on earth who haven't heard of bitcoin."

Most people on earth dont even have internet...

Lot of people haven't heard of it and even a larger population doesnt understand it.
2060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Chaincoin on: December 12, 2017, 07:49:12 PM
After looking the coin up, I dont think it would be a viable investment. Looks pretty sketchy that the 24 volume is $50k.
