2041  Other / Meta / Re: Unreasonable Account Banning, Help Please. on: January 05, 2014, 09:19:55 PM
My guess is that the counter account was ineligible since it already has another signature advertisement, or they were using multiple accounts to collect from the same campaign.

So exploiting multiple accounts on the forums for material gain by spamming advertising links.

Yeah, I'd say the ban is probably legitimate Wink
2042  Other / Meta / Re: Unreasonable Account Banning, Help Please. on: January 05, 2014, 05:49:42 PM
self explanatory . please stay on topic.

Actually, it's not self explanatory, hence the "Wat ?"

What sort of offers would your "counter" account - a Senior Member - not be eligible for, that another, presumably less senior account would be eligible for ?
2043  Other / Meta / Re: Integrated Tip function for BTCtalk. on: January 05, 2014, 05:45:18 PM
Just seems like something else that could go wrong.
I don't find it hard to copy-paste an address from someone's profile or signature.
Yeah, how would this integration work exactly? Easier just to do the above.

The problem is that we'd need to pay BTC into an account to pay tips out of, similar to how the Reddit bitcointip bot handles finances, and I don't think Theymos wants anything to do with being responsible for user funds; understandably so.

Beyond that, the integration is the relatively easy part.
2044  Other / Meta / Re: Unreasonable Account Banning, Help Please. on: January 05, 2014, 05:41:39 PM
I have another account here under the name hieroglyph so that I can take advantage of offers this account isn't able to participate in

 Wat ?
2045  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BFL Monarch - Delivery Dates on: January 05, 2014, 03:49:45 PM
I'm sure someone can explain why having "Nov/Dec initial shipping" on your website while you clearly shipped nothing is not a lie.

Hrmph. I'm sure it's a mistake. I figured they'd have fixed it by now, but sure enough, there it is at www dot butterflylabs dot com slash monarch (Why does the forums not allow that URL to be displayed ?)

I can only imagine they are too busy crunching on assembling and shipping Nov/Dec 2013 orders, and don't have the resources to update the web pages right now.

Note the old price of $4,680 on the main page for the Monarch yet available cheaper here https://products.butterflylabs.com/homepage-new-products/600-gh-bitcoin-mining-card.html

*shrugs*

EDIT: My bad. They aren't assembling and shipping yet. Still waiting on chips.

...Missed our power targets by 70%... that's pretty specific, especially since we don't have a chip to test with...

That site is garbage because it detects virus' pretty perfectly.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

I was all proud of my blades up until I saw the Antminer! Eh, someone was saying they are tricky to setup though

The Antminer S1 180GHs units are fairly easy to set up, IMO.
2050  Other / Meta / Re: VIP Member "goat" abusing trust rating system on: January 04, 2014, 09:26:34 PM
Why was tradefortress trusted by theymos again?

I was stunned when I saw that happen Sad

In fact, I think that was the day I removed the Default Trust settings altogether.

Taking things a step further, I would argue that there should not be a Default Trust list at all - It should be something that each user constructs themselves.
2051  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: January 04, 2014, 04:31:06 PM
Wanted to add my voice to the chorus of dissatisfied customers of MtGox.

I have a fiat withdraw pending for some time now on a verified account (Have since moved to dealing with Bitstamp and Coinbase with little issue), and the latest response from support is they have no ETA for when my withdrawal might be processed.

I've asked for a one time Cashiers Check to be issued for the balance of my account, but am not holding my breath.

It is unacceptable as they are holding our money hostage with no ETA for receiving it.

I really should have heeded the wisdom posted here that said "don't deal with MtGox".  I've never had a bad experience with them in my past dealings, but obviously they have taken a turn for the worse over the last year Sad
2052  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: January 04, 2014, 03:40:00 PM
Customers should demand at least the scammer tag from thermos who is doing absolutely nothing except cash the money from advertising

Ironically, it could be argued that Theymos himself is deserving of a Scammer tag.

Dropped the price down to 0.1 BTC to move them.

Willing to sell individually.
2058  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales NEW STOCK ***NOW SHIPPING*** on: January 03, 2014, 11:42:57 PM
oh, and you wont be reformatting SD cards everytime you turn off the power
Shutting the rig down properly would keep that from happening.  I've never had an SD card get scrambled.

Yep. "sudo shutdown -h now" every time with no problems so far. Additionally, I did blow a breaker and had one power off uncleanly that came back up uncorrupted, so YMMV I guess.
2059  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Seven Shifts with no blocks on: January 03, 2014, 06:40:33 AM
It's rare, but bad luck like this can happen. It was being discussed in the BTCG thread in the Pools sub.
2060  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: January 03, 2014, 06:05:25 AM
I dunno about any ads on the speedyshare website. I don't see any of it since I have plenty of ad removers installed. If there is a problem with the speedyshare website then I'll just stop using it.
More-than-likely a false positive. I wouldn't sweat it. The .doc you uploaded is kosher in any event.
What sites can be used that don't employ any crapware wrappers or use any ad pop-ups to give free hosting?

mega.co.nz is decent.
