Where is the double-short BTC ETF? I'm sorry, I'm tired. What?

I tried making a ticker, it told me not enough funds. Did all 20 free tickers already get used up?
Before you can register a ticker, you need to create an asset. I've set the fee for creating an asset at 1btc to stop people just throwing any kind of crap up there. There are still 18 free tickers available. So to recap: 1)bmc.py deposit (you need to deposit at least 1btc to create an asset) 2)bmc.py new-asset file-to-be-asset 3)bmc.py ticker asset_id ticker_symbol You can see everything that's listed on the exchange here. http://dev.glbse.com/cgi-bin/list

I'm not working on it specifically but it is something that I could add to the glbse.com Stock exchange(earlier than I had planned).
It's 1/2 opensource right now (the client source is available), and the server will be made opensource in about 6 months(orr earlier if anyone wants to pay the release fee, essentially repay our capital investment).
I will be implementing smart contracts, so the exact details could be specified in the contract.
In terms of functionality, I could have the asset set that it requires all (or most) of the share/asset holders to vote to allow the funds to be released. And that only a fixed number of the share/asset can be released(so the issuer doesn't just issue more assets to themselves and vote to release the funds). And that if the amount is not met by a certain date all funds are returned to the asset holders.
If I were to implement these features, would that qualify for the bounty?
Also someone throw an extra 35btc in on the deal and I'll get it done done that little bit faster.

GLBSE market access does not work for me at the moment. Something wrong right now?
Working now, but the server seems to freeze from time to time, I'm working on it.

We want the client for our exchange to work on Windows, Linux and OSX, right now it works fine on Linux and Windows (OSX has yet to be tackled) except for (some) Windows 7 64bit edition. We will pay 15btc to whoever is able to find a solution to this problem, and the perfect test case is S3052, as he's got this exact system and cannot run the glbse.com client. See this thread for more details. http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=6500.0The normal install process available here https://gitorious.org/black-market/pages/WindowsAnd some more conversation details about S3052's problem, I think BitterTea was having the same problem. After some more investigation.. it seems I cant install any OpenSSL program. There is always an error message before trying to install "The Win32 OpenSSL Installation Project setup has detected that the following critical component is missing: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributables Win32 OpenSSl will nor function properly without this component. It is recommended that you install the missing component before clicking "OK" to continue." If this is one of the error messages you mentioned I should ignore, then this is maybe not the problem. BUT: Whatever I try the installation of OpenSSl stops somewhere before finalization and then the setup crashes and I can then only kill the operation with the task manager. There is one more option about where to copy the OpenSSl DLLs to: 1) The windows system directory 2) The OpenSSl binaries (/bin) directory I always went with the default. Should I try the other one? In a nutshell, no OpenSSL could be installed on my laptop. I also tried others from the internet and neither worked. I even tried a OpenSSl64bit version and installation failed in the same way. here are all the versions of Microsoft Visual C++ that I have installed I installed it. Unfortunately, I could not successfully install OpenSSL afterwards... I am about to throw my laptop out of the window.

It seems that from time to time the server (the software, not the machine itself) freezes, sometimes completely not letting up other times for a while. I don't know why, haven't had a chance to investigate (which is what I will be doing).
I'll also need to build a script to monitor the server and "reset" it when it chokes.

Just went live with this, which was scary for me, I'm terrified of there being some accounting or security bug.
I had the same with Operation Fabulous. Took me a month before I had a proper sleep again. Thats what I have to look forward to? Great

Since there are going to be quite a few people listing on the exchange it's best to keep it in one place. So far we have 2 listings: UBX (Sold out) and DISHWARA(available) Add them as you have them. 18 free ticker symbols left by the way, they normally go for 5btc a pop.

When will we see fancy charts or an API that bitcoincharts can use to create fancy charts?
Haha, good one. But seriously, we'll have to wait, I'm adding functionallity and fixing bugs as fast as I can. Just went live with this, which was scary for me, I'm terrified of there being some accounting or security bug. Charts are not my first priority, but it's something that will happen probably in about 2 months I'd guess.

Yikes, are you saying that when the bitcoin daemon's accounts system is used to maintain a number of different accounts, such as accounts for various customer balances to be accounted by, the bitcoin trasaction fees are not accounted to the specific accounts the transactions are done by?
-MarkM-
No, I was unaware at the time that bitcoind automatically charged for transactions smaller than 0.01btc, and I didn't account for it(or take precautions to prevent individual account "overdrafts"). I have now done so.

You could decentralise by having multple servers that all sync off each other, so to bring the entire exchange down you would need to bring down all the servers. Other than that there isn't really much you can do.
