will definately attend again!
has anyone an overview of the hackspace infrastructure in london?
Almost positive they wil rent a venue elsewhere. Hackspace is too small for an event like this. No this is not going to be based in the London hackspace, this isn't a meetup, we're going to be having up 400 people. We're getting a full size venue to allow this. Although the idea of having a meetup in the hackspace before and after the event is a pretty good one. Nefario.

And as has been mentioned, we'll be moving away from it to our own charting solution.
Is that wise? Bitcoincharts works and is familiar to the Bitcoin community. Why spend time on creating a charting platform? That's the problem, it doesn't work great. You might not have noticed but on charts.glbse.com volume is measured in BTC as opposed to # of shares traded. I'd rather not have the recuring costs and dependence on bitcoincharts (it's fine for normal bitcoin exchanges, GLBSE however is a little more complicated than a bitcoin exchange).

So, Nefario: let me tell you how "your" site works: It's sorted by 7-day average volume. Straight from the horse's mouth. You're welcome. As I'd said, charts.glbse.com isn't our site, it's a service we've rented from bitcoincharts to provide easy to understand charts for GLBSE. And as has been mentioned, we'll be moving away from it to our own charting solution.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think Nefario is doing away with these charts after GLBSE 2.0 is released.
Pretty much. Also I've frozen this asset and locked the users account. The only post I've found on it is the creators initial thread on the GLBSE forum. I had emailed the creator a day or two ago about ID verification but have not received a reply. So until I've verified their identity this account and asset are not available to be traded. Nefario.

Hey lads,
sorry about the absence, my net connections been down for a while, only after getting it back up.
HorseRider's account should have the deposit now, again, sorry for the delay.
Nefario.
Dear Nefario, I've seen it, thank you very much and sorry for my mistake and wasting your time! It's not a waste of my time, you're a GLBSE user, this is what I do among other things.

I would fly for good weather, yes.
I have been to London plenty of times and it holds no interest as a destination for me, so if the weather is crappy it has zero appeal. If it were in london in late spring/early summer i would be inclined to go so that i could see more of the UK... but I am not driving around the country in Dec. Whereas I have never been to Berlin, and while my preference is for a warmer climate that time of year, I would be far more willing to suffer the cold to see Berlin.
All things being equal, the Canary islands would be awesome.
We're planning a conference, not a group holiday, if you want sun then go for the Costa Del Sol, the last time someone tried for a sunny place for a bitcoin conference we almost ended up with Bruce Wagners Pattaya. London is the financial hub of the world (larger than the rest of the EU's financial sectors combined), a world travel hub, packed with media, and where the majority of our speakers are based.

It's not about me. It's about Bitcoin.
If we ignore the biggest economic school that embraces alternative currencies and stick with mainstream academic mediocrity instead, you'll be left without any grassroots support in the economic field.
I have a feeling the only "economists" we are going to see are some snobby, authoritarian kiss-ups who couldn't spreadsheet their way through running a restaurant much less a country.
I would just like to see genjix and friends admit that they are scared of libertarians and Austrian economics.
Boss/Atlas, I'm primarily responsible for organising this, and I would describe myself as a Libertarian and general follower of the Austrian School (for as much as I've been able to study it). You have to remember I started (and continue to run) GLBSE, about as free market/libertarian of a market as you can get ,so I've got the libertarian credentials. Lets keep this thread civil and not get off topic. We'll have a whole range of speakers from all different backgrounds and areas of expertise. It's a conference to bring bitcoin out into the world, it's debutante so to speak, it's not really going to be a place for Austrians and Keynesians to slug it out, and neither is this thread, lets keep on topic. Yankee, same for you, also could you PM me about speaking/sponsorship, what did you have in mind? Nefario. Nefario.
