2101  Economy / Economics / Re: Trend of Banks/Wallstreet allowing BTC in stock portfolio, huge price spikes on: June 02, 2017, 10:27:52 AM
the funny thing is that the news about these investment plan thingies allowing people to invest in bitcoin for their retirement plan, never got that much hype for some reason! maybe they are not doing it much because of the risk it has.
in any case i have not heard bitcoin getting in Wallstreet, do you have any reference?
other countries are doing it but US seems to be resisting adoption of bitcoin!
2102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation about this month bitcoin price on: June 02, 2017, 10:20:33 AM
I think new ATH but it won't pump as before, I think it will move with relatively small gains for a while so maybe 2700-3000 by the end of the month.

i am also guessing this is more plausible than a faster rise. maybe not completely until $3000 but there is a higher chance of seeing a slow rise to $2600-$2700 which was previous ATH and then speed up from there.

although there are a lot of things in the future that can potentially change the course of price sideways.
2103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining pools shut down in China with no clear reasons on: June 02, 2017, 10:06:24 AM
I think they might have some issues with wet coal in the wet season too, because most of these coal are stored in the open and in the dry season the coal is dry and more efficient. Wet coal being less efficient will increase electricity prices in the wet season, so these miners might be going north to operate in an environment where there are no seasonal influences in the electricity prices.

It is all about efficiency, because cheaper electricity = more profits. ^smile^
Its just a common sense to think off on a certain company or group on this way.As long on where the business would be profitable they will surely make changes later on. They shut because they saw that they aren't making money and would need to move to another place.
then how come they refuse to be interviewed and say they expect regulations on mining pools? The timing is just so weird.

because it is none of anybody's business why they stopped, it is their own business that they can start and stop at any time for any reasons. they don't have to explain to anyone about the "why" of it Smiley

and you are making a far fetched assumption about regulation on mining and even if it happens, it is just going to force them to pay taxes which they may already be paying anyways!
2104  Economy / Speculation / Re: the biggest Forex broker in the world is adding bitcoin, and it is in Japan on: June 01, 2017, 11:54:57 AM
the question is if they will be trading real bitcoins or some bitcoin cfds

the news said it is a full feature bitcoin exchange platform so that traders can trade bitcoin there, so i am guessing it will be something like the exchanges such as bitfinex, okcoin, ... that we know.
2105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do all altcoins move in value similarly regardless on: June 01, 2017, 11:39:27 AM
exactly it is because of all the manipulations. the market is small with a very tiny orderbook and volume and then huge whales that get bigger with each pump.
then there are a lot of newbies who are desperate to trade and make money so they lose money! it is their greed that is guiding them and majority of them have never done a trade in their lives before and think they can get in and continue make money just because they made 1 successful trade during a pump!
2106  Economy / Economics / Re: What power does Traders have on the Bitcoin price ? on: June 01, 2017, 11:26:32 AM
But don't you think that if a lot of early investors with huge amount of BTC could gather and have control over its price ?

yes and no.
in my opinion it is always a battle. when we are talking about something like bitcoin that is well distributed then it is like a battle. there are a lot of whales, aka the early adopters, and there are a lot more big players with less amounts than whales and there are a lot more traders with regular amounts.
these groups don't work with each other. if someone or couple of them decide to go against the market or try to push it in other direction they will not succeed 100%.

as an example of failure you can see in the past months when price was rising from the $888 dip Bitstamp whales have been dumping the price in there but all the other exchanges were rising. finally the market won and price broke $1200 and continued rising.
2107  Economy / Speculation / Re: If They Solve the BTC Scaling Problem (Soon and Correctly), How High Do We Go? on: June 01, 2017, 11:18:51 AM
the problem is that you are using a big if in your speculation/guess or whatever Smiley

but in reality a lot of things go wrong or against expectations. if the solution locks in we may even expect a big dump before the real thing because of a lot of FUD that always comes with these things from the opportunists in the market!
and then the launch will begin.
2108  Economy / Economics / Re: The fluctuation in pricing.. on: June 01, 2017, 11:13:12 AM
is creating a wall that makes it harder for BTCto be a universal economic currency. Stores may take 1BTC for a product and in the AM that 1BTC could be valued at .08BTC. Obviously theres a ton of positives to this happening I think more than negatives. I for one hope it does though because USD is getting old Smiley

i don't see anybody else mentioning this and i don't know if it is a typo or what but from 1BTC to 0.08BTC is a -92% drop and it is impossible to happen, i assure you.

if you mean a smaller drop like the 20% drop or something like that then i have to say such drops are rare, they don't happen everyday. they always happen after a fast rise or a huge FUD. other times bitcoin is pretty stable.
and also as it was mentioned a million times if "Stores" are worried about it they can exchange it for fiat as soon as they receive it.
2109  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase is having issues on: May 31, 2017, 11:42:15 AM
which coin are you having trouble with, i hear the outage problem has only been with ethereum that they are running short on supplies!
and also the support seems to be bad with almost all the exchanges these days! they all get a surge of new customers with a lot of problems and that may be part of the problem.

What is a better wallet to work through? Xapo?

as a wallet not an exchange service, anything is better than coinbase, any wallet that you control the private keys of.
if you are find with running a full node then go with bitcoin core and if you want an SPV client then use electrum or multibit.

2110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question to litecoin bagholders on: May 31, 2017, 11:25:06 AM
Why you hold bags of coin which is dead and not being developed? Everything else on the moon and making investors rich, what's the reason to hold that cheap dead coin?

define dead first and not being developed.
a coin that had recently taken a huge step forward in its entire history with activation of SegWit. fixed the malleability issue and open up way for a lot more features to come.
a coin that the developers are working on Lightning Network for it.
a coin that the developers are working on anonymous transactions on it.
a coin that has been around for nearly as long as bitcoin and kept the trading volume up and had a very stable price all along.

if litecoin is dead then i don't know which altcoin is alive by your standard Cheesy

with that said i hold nothing in LTC at the moment. i am getting rich with other altcoin pumps Grin
2111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tomorrow 31th May (Japan time) will open internet giant GMO Btc trading platform on: May 31, 2017, 11:16:55 AM
And today, in perfect "sell the news" style, price is going down...

after all this time i assure you that there really isn't any reason for little fluctuations like this.
a tiny dip which is smaller than $50-$100 is not really because "sell the news", it is the normal way market works. and there are a lot of things going on at the moment which makes this "big Japanese news" get lost among them.

currently at $2250 by the way at bitstamp.
2112  Economy / Speculation / Re: IF eth takes over from BTC will BTC then face a relative colapse? on: May 31, 2017, 11:06:54 AM
Ethereum has orders of magnitude x more use cases.

very interesting, can you share some of these "use cases" with us that are not smart contracts? Smiley
2113  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Easiest And safest Way to Buy/Sell Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies on: May 31, 2017, 11:01:07 AM
cex.io has been around for a long time and i have not heard anything negative about them. they usually are the choice if you want to buy with credit cards and their verification process seems to take a while. and also the fees are high.

and as for bitcointalk, this here is P2P currency exchange so you will end up getting less to sell and paying a lot more to buy bitcoin than the market price. and the same goes for localbitcoins, but they are best choices for keeping your privacy.

there are also Kraken which seems to be good although i have not used it.
and also btc-e which doesn't require any kind of verification.
2114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: May 30, 2017, 04:23:25 PM
it is funny how everyone is repeating the same thing and that thing is the price! and the funny part is that the profit from holding ethereum has not even been good compared to other altcoins!

it is as if nobody ever checks any price history ever. they just look at coinmarketcap or something like that and see what is on top Smiley
there have been coins with as much volume that went up 6000% in the past month. in comparison ethereum's 700% pump is nothing.
2115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: which 1 satoshi coins? on: May 30, 2017, 04:07:03 PM
a 1 satoshi coin is worth 1 satoshi for a reason!
it fell down all the way from a higher price to minimum value possible. and in most cases you see 1 satoshi but in fact that same altcoin is being traded below 1 satoshi something like 0.001 satoshi!
there are markets against other altcoins which causes that low price, markets such as Doge and LTC and that coin is woth 0.005 Doge for instance.
2116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maximalism mentality. Does it still stands ? on: May 30, 2017, 04:00:40 PM
i have no idea what "bitcoin maximalism" means but what i think is that a cryptocurrency needs to be decentralized and ethereum lacks this.

here is the thing, there are two groups of people drawn to cryptocurrencies.
one are those who are interested in nothing apart from money (fiat) for these none of what anybody ever says matters. they only care about how these things are getting pumped and ethereum is very good at getting pumped.

other group are those that are in crypto for other things. important matters such as decentralization, security that you can be sure the developers don't just roll back again because another DAO happened!, these people care a lot that 70+ million coins is in control of that centralized power. these people don't even get near things such as ethereum.
2117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tomorrow 31th May (Japan time) will open internet giant GMO Btc trading platform on: May 30, 2017, 02:25:25 PM
for the past few months all we keep hearing is the bullshit with SEC and the ETF they denied! and that is like a pathetic little news compared to this one in my opinion Smiley
all we need to know is this:

GMO Click Securities Co. Ltd. – the Japanese conglomerate’s online financial trading subsidiary – is the biggest forex broker in the world with by far the highest trading volumes in the industry globally. and now they are going to have bitcoin too.
2118  Economy / Speculation / Re: China is dumping, prepare for crash. on: May 28, 2017, 10:24:00 AM
kwukduck can be right this time.guys don't think every time price will raise. If you have experience 2012 then you know what will can be happened.don't you think less than 1 year price increase 600% I think its insane.pump and dump= someone winner + someone loser  Grin

no the duck is not right, and you are out of your mind Smiley
it wasn't 2012 and it was 2013 and price went up 500% in one month, how hard is it to understand the difference i wonder! and besides by that time bitcoin was tiny compared to today. it wasn't really accepted anywhere and people were mostly interested in it because they could solo mine it with their PC and make a lot of money.

and in this year price has barely reached 100% rise and in previous years we have had up to 200% rises without any major mainstream adoption that we have this year!
2119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To all those claiming bitcoin and ICOs are overvalued! on: May 28, 2017, 10:13:37 AM
why is it that people always try to stick other things to bitcoin!
"because bitcoin is such and such, then that altcoin or ico or whatever is also such and such"
not it is not! all those ICOs are overvalued as a matter of fact and we have been proven time and time again. and no bitcoin is not overvalued and it has nothing to do with what is going on in the altcoin scene!
2120  Economy / Speculation / Re: YORK's price prediction topic. on: May 27, 2017, 10:16:26 AM

are you FUDing or just looking at an exchange that i don't know about!

okcoin: $1929
coinbase: $1915
gemini: $1911
bitstamp: $1850
