2161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Crypto Currency Adoption on: May 17, 2017, 09:53:35 AM
i think the only obvious answer is "If things change maybe"

bitcoin is right there, it has been around, it is trusted and it is decentralized but the problem which everyone now knows is the block size debate between two sides which are pulling at bitcoin from two opposite directions. if we can finally come to some decent conclusion for that, the adoption will happen. specially with the movement that Japan started.

but about altcoins i have to say it won't be possible. at least for existing ones. these are too deep in problems that can not reach the adoption stage. for the most part is because bitcoin does what they want to do 10 times better. for the other part is because these altcoins are not created to be adopted by anyone other than traders. and they have already adopted them with open arms and big whale-y pockets.
2162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP implied market cap is now larger than BTC's ! on: May 17, 2017, 09:43:22 AM
actually i am glad that this happened.
maybe people start to realize how crappy marketcap is when they are comparing cryptocurrencies. they have been repeating over and over that since ETH has the highest marketcap then it is a good altcoin and now this one. all these coins on top are proving how fake it is to "produce" a big market cap for an altcoin.
2163  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 1800$ on: May 17, 2017, 09:38:03 AM
Just as I suspected that the price rising suddenly couldn't be by accident, they were accumulating all this time and we let them.

Have a question: the whole market share of Bitcoin is nothing compared to what a government such as US has of cash in their control-

-If they inject another $20B into market to buy off Bitcoins they can easily accumulate over 5M coins and to be undetected another $20B in the course of

the next 6 month and have the control over %55 of the supply then it's a game over for us the ones using this system to be our banks and have financial freedom.

If they are haven't done so already then good for us and we should stop selling a single Bitcoin lower than $5000 lets make it hard for them to hoard more coins.

Since there is no way to accurately find how many people now are holding the majority of the coins, so I am asking you to increase your sell order's prices to $5000.

This is the forum exactly where people come to work together as a community everyone from now on refuses to sell below 5K.

what you don't understand with your long text is that government don't care much about the bitcoin price. what they care about is how bitcoin is used, aka trying to prevent people from using bitcoin for illegal activities such as what they do in dark markets.

and for that bitcoin can be worth $0.01 and still be used for illegal activities.
2164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the highest "Fee per Byte" transaction you can find? on: May 17, 2017, 09:23:57 AM
With that Trezor bug causing insane fees,

i don't know why people do this! throw in a bomb and run away Smiley
the bug is not from Trezor, it is from Trezor.io and how it is estimating amount of fee.
in short it is because Trezor is using third party services to get the fees (i believe 21.co) and that is causing the bug.
Trezor is compatible with many wallets for example you can use Electrum with it and it allows you to set the fees manually.
2165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin becoming so god damn slow? on: May 16, 2017, 04:23:24 AM
Hilarious and predictable. A new bitcoin user comes to the community and expresses dissatisfaction. Then the community calls him stupid.

You know, you guys wonder why Bitcoin is falling in dominance and this is it right here. You guys aren't ready for mainstream adoption. Now sit back and let better crypto currencies come to the front.

nobody is preventing your favorite altcoin to come to the front, by all means come on.
we all love cryptocurrency and it just happens that we all find bitcoin to be the best thing. but if there is an altcoin that is really better than bitcoin then surely that will be used and will become bigger than bitcoin.

but the problem is, all the altcoins that you think are "better" have a lot of problems that you either don't see yet or are closing your eyes on.

the problem is that bitcoin is under a heavy spam attack, then there is a lot of adoption and the price rise always increases the number of transactions. so the fees go up. newbies pay less and get their transactions stuck.
here is where altcoins come in. their network is empty since noone is using them to transfer money. many of them also have faster block generation. also to make newbies think they are better they have set the fees lower (also since they are mostly different).
now you look at this and think to yourself, altcoins are better.

but when you go in, see the centralization, see the pre-mines the ICO scams, all the bugs in the code, all the exploits that are right there, all the other problems that they have, so many of the big altcoins don't even have a proper wallet, all the security issues, and a lot more, and also when the manipulators dumped on you and price crashed you will crawl back to bitcoin just like each year. Wink

but by all means, introduce a better cryptocurrency than bitcoin and we will all switch and start using it.
2166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP is a complete fraud GET OUT! on: May 16, 2017, 04:06:45 AM
the funny thing about altcoin investors is that they don't give a shit about what they are investing in, even if they are scam!
we have seen many times that even altcoins with a keylogger, virus,... in their wallet file have been listed on exchanges and be traded! and that is the obvious kind of scam.

in this market people only care about money. and if an altcoin can give it to them, then they will invest in it.
now the experienced traders know when to get out and get out with profit while others wait around or get in too late and get dumped on.
2167  Economy / Economics / Re: How to make a GOOD prediction? on: May 16, 2017, 03:57:04 AM
Could it BTC or any other crypto, how do you make a good prediction?

What information do you collect, from where and -if there is any- what scientifically proven formula do you use?

I also would be interested in your success rates. Success is, when your prediction comes true.

there isn't really any formula or any easy way to say if (this + that) then (price rise) and if (these + those) then (price drop).
but there are many things to consider.

i like starting with some technical analysis, i am still learning it but it can tell you that it is helpful to know it than not know it.

then in this market usually we should follow the news. specially in altcoins. they only move with hype aka news about them. the news doesn't have to even be true. for example we saw recently that ethereum got pumped for another time with a fake news about etf!
2168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF - decision 15th May - Time and place on: May 16, 2017, 03:49:27 AM

It's just the deadline to submit petition for review. Perhaps it was even already sent a while ago. Then it will be a matter of days at least to hear back.

Likely to still be a no, in which case limited effect on price. If a surprise yes happens, will also have limited effect. Happy to be proven wrong!

Not today? I was ready with beer and chips in front of Bitcoinwisdom to see how the price's NOT changing Roll Eyes

i wouldn't get my hopes up for a "not changing" price! there are still some people who are caught up in the fake hype and will surely panic, you know bitcoinewbies love to panic at times like this and everybody loves them for their panic Smiley
2169  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is gonna die soon! on: May 14, 2017, 11:06:16 AM
Good luck when btc crashes. I think it should reach 1 million unconfirmed this year. Hope the douche bags in this community are still holding btc.

thank you very much for worrying about us idiots and also thank you for warning us out of the kindness of your heart.

kisses Kiss
2170  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is gonna die soon! on: May 14, 2017, 10:53:27 AM
Lauda, you're a joke. Btc can't even transfer money.  Can't due instant payments. Can't combat the double spend scams and will never be updated to increase capacity or resist quantum computing. Not to mention the problems that will come in the future do to the laws of the universe governing decay....
Even if confirmation is slow it can still transfer money. Even if there isn't instant payments people will still trust bitcoin and they're sure that eventually it will be confirmed and arrive in their wallets. Even if there is the scaling issue bitcoin will continue to move forward. And like what lauda said, goodluck hope you won't be just a bagholder of an altcoin in the end.

whenever i see people complain about "risks" of double spend and "incapability" of bitcoin to do instant transactions and "confirmation time" and... the first thing that comes to my mind is the real merchants that i have seen or read about.

for instance there was a guy owning a food truck who started accepting bitcoin last year. after a while when he was updating us he said "i have never had to worry about double spend and nobody scammed me and i saw a lot of interest in bitcoin from a lot of different people".
2171  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is gonna die soon! on: May 14, 2017, 10:41:15 AM
Bitcoin will die because it's community is loyal, stupid and greedy.
Thank you!

Satoshi never intended for BTC to be the world's money, he introduced a new technology.  He was aware btc could not survive due to lack of updates.
you shouldn't comment on things that you have no understanding of.
go read the bitcoin white paper first and come back to tell us what satoshi is calling bitcoin.

Monero I think offers nothing that isn't being done better by Zcash. Her obnoxiously loyal trolling community can't save her. I'd put my money on Dash and Zcash due to virtue but I haven't seen the crypto market being driving by rationalism, just brand loyalty.
please do that. and good luck.

again you have no understanding of the things you listed here. please educate yourself first.
i would have taken the time to explain each of these if i wasn't sure you are trolling and an altcoin bagholder.
2172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need opinion about starting the exact copy of bitcoin. on: May 14, 2017, 10:32:59 AM
...
For a normal person buying 1 bitcoin will be difficult.

For a normal person mining bitcoin is difficult.

So he is looking for next option and he can see thousands of coins. In this case if there is coin with exact copy of bitcoin with good supporters defiantly  he will choose it.

no that is your assumption and it is wrong and unfortunately this is a wrong assumption that is being used in the altcoin market to dump on newbies who continue being a bag holder and even buy more even though prices are going down.

if you create an exact copy of bitcoin nobody will use it. you will only get some temporary pump and dumpers and some attention in the exchanges and have the coin dead in no time.

bitcoin is not good just simply because of the code. it is good because millions are using it. there are lots of nodes, a huge hashrate behind it and all of these are securing the chain. there are lots of years behind it that led to a big adoption by lots of merchants where you can go and securely spend money.

there are many good developers working on bitcoin and the code has been reviewed numerous times.
2173  Economy / Speculation / Re: Thousands rushing to buy bitcoins to pay ransomware! price on rocket on: May 14, 2017, 10:26:03 AM
I think you need help...
kwukduck, please do yourself and all others a favor and buy back in! TY

haha, this duck is either an employee of someone and is getting paid to spread the propaganda against bitcoin for whatever reason.
or he is short term trading the shit out of bitcoin and appears each time there is a dip to help the panic a tiny bit and buy cheaper coins.

in any case just enjoy the stupidity. Smiley
2174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is useless or is it? on: May 14, 2017, 10:15:11 AM
i don't remember getting the memo about bitcoin is supposed to be cheap, and it certainly has never been the main reason for using it.

maybe people have forgotten what decentralization means! what it really means when you are in full control over your money without needing a fucking bank to tell you what to do with it, to block your money, take whatever they want from you, government put their hands in your pocket, ...

we all know fees are high and we prefer it to be lower, we want to still be able to send transactions with lower fees. specially since miners don't deserve the extra income at this point with 12.5BTC reward per block. but that doesn't change anything about bitcoin's usefulness.
2175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive cyberattack spreads around the globe- demanding bitcoin worth of 300USD on: May 13, 2017, 10:17:36 AM
This has happened quite a few times before, and is happening on a daily basis on computers.
It's sad that hospitals and many businesses neglect cyber-security. This is a good lesson to learn.

it actually is always the employees that cause the security risks!
the hackers rarely hack the system directly, they usually sue a dumb employee as their way to enter the system. for example with an infected Email with an infected attachment to the employee of one of these places, and as they open it, they get infected Smiley
2176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what altcoins are good to invest in on: May 13, 2017, 10:04:11 AM
right now it is not such a good idea to invest in any of the altcoins since they are all in big bubbles and the only logical way to go for them is to get dumped when their bubbles burst. and when a dump begins nothing much can stop it.

but generally i would invest in altcoins that have one of these following things:
- they have not been pumped yet
- they have something coming up like the SegWit and LN for litecoin
- they have dipped hard so that i can buy in dip and sell the fast like in 4 hours.
2177  Economy / Speculation / Re: A price correction is happening now on: May 13, 2017, 09:53:45 AM
This down mean that price correction is in order it can be like that by 1500 and the up to 2000 or 3000. Price is over 1700 at the moment so think that this down peak was only temporally and that we would be fix it in matter of days think that in Monday we will have price again over 1800, so dont need to be worry about anything.

i wouldn't be so hasty to speculate like this.
there are a lot of things that need to be happening soon, that can change the price drastically. one of which is SEC decision about ETF, once again they can deny it and price continued dropping.
the bitfinex drama is not yet over either.
the BU drama is not completely over yet either!

all of these can go both way.
2178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive cyberattack spreads around the globe- demanding bitcoin worth of 300USD on: May 13, 2017, 09:38:49 AM
what i find interesting is that they always used a lot of different methods of payment but Bitcoin payment is always the thing people see, of course usage of bitcoin among them has grown more but only in past year.

according to wikipedia:
"A range of such payment methods have been used, including wire transfers, premium-rate text messages, pre-paid voucher services such as Paysafecard, and the digital currency Bitcoin."
2179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING:network under Massive spam attack. on: May 13, 2017, 09:32:35 AM
Why do you guys think that this is all a spam attack??

1. because of the way these transactions are injected into the network.
it has a nearly fixed rate, which in normal circumstances it can not be the same.

2. because in normal circumstances we have 1000 to 3000 transactions in the mempool and with all the growth and price rise, etc it has gone up but not to 160,000

3. because of the transactions that can be found and look useless. for example sending from and address to same address or sending from 1 address to another but instead of sending 100BTC at once you send 0.01BTC every 5 seconds in a new transaction until 100BTC is spent, then from the second address you send to third address the same way.
2180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin rides Japanese demand to record $1,800, just two days after hit $1,700 on: May 12, 2017, 11:41:24 AM
The digital currency is now up roughly 36 percent so far this month.
according to price obtained from https://bitcoinwisdom.com/ it has gone up ~48% by the time i am writing this.

Quote
BKCM CEO Brian Kelly says he believes the rally is driven by Japan legalizing bitcoin and institutional investors entering the digital currency universe.
i believe that is only partly true.
bitcoin is known to rise at the sight of good news. which means those who are already in the market (old traders) start buying bitcoin up as they know the fresh money (fresh blood) is coming in Smiley which is the other part of the reason for rise.

Quote
"There's a tremendous amount of bitcoin influx in Japan," he said. "It's one of the most popular currencies in Japan."
this is indeed great.

Quote
The hedge fund manager, who runs a digital assets portfolio, says there's been a massive adoption of Bitcoin in Japan and even speculation that some major Japanese banks will start trading bitcoin as a currency like the yen, dollar and euro.
apart from that, there is a new Bank in Japan which is about to start working with bitcoin only and it will be an interest paying bank.
