221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling: Modern entertainment or highly addictive game? on: April 17, 2024, 03:25:13 AM
Well, like other online versions of physical activities, in some ways it is an improved version of physical gambling, because you can bet 24/7, you can do it with much smaller bet sizes, and in the case of poker you can use statistics programs among other advantages.

The downside is that being always available and not having to travel to gamble is potentially much more addictive but most people play responsibly.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin will remain the greatest crypto currency in the world. on: April 17, 2024, 03:17:12 AM
What are your thoughts do you believe BTC will remain the greatest crypto currency in the world.

It would be paradoxical to say the least if we in a Bitcoin forum did not think so. But if you hurry me and in the very long term you never know what can happen. If we talk about the next decades I firmly believe that it will remain number 1, and I expect those tens of thousands of shitcoins that do not stop being created to go bust at some point. Some may survive but with the implementation of CBDCs and the ease of digital payments it will not survive as a currency but as a speculative investment.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Network jam. on: April 16, 2024, 04:00:40 AM
Yep, it's times like this that reinforce my belief that bitcoin is never going to be used as currency.

....it's better to hold as an investment.

I have long since stopped believing that it will be used as a currency in the future. It has some use as a currency, minority, because some of us buy directly with Bitcoin sometimes, but it is, as you say, mostly an investment.

Apart from the problem of network congestion and fees, solutions like LN are not feasible for large-scale mass payments, and, above all, if you can pay with fiat currencies as easily as you can today from your mobile, and with the upcoming launch of CBDCs, why are you going to spend your valuable Bitcoin instead of depreciating fiat currencies? It doesn't make sense. Besides the legislations don't help either because almost everywhere in the world you have to pay capital gains tax and to be able to calculate if you have capital gains on every small payment or it would be a mess or you would have to use specialized software to track it all. It is much easier to pay with fiat on a daily basis and hold Bitcoin.
224  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: April 16, 2024, 03:53:29 AM
We've already seen lucky people with a few thousand golden tickets and a couple of hundred thousand golden tickets who won the coveted prize in the Lambo lottery. As for me, it would be interesting to see not someone who wins with a few tickets, but someone who wins the Lambo lottery with just one golden ticket, as once happened in the weekly lottery. Lips sealed

Well, the moment you have even a single ticket, you're in the game. If you don't have even one ticket it is impossible to win, but if you have only one it is extremely improbable but not impossible. And with the number of tickets that are issued there is not much difference between having 1 or having 250. It is extremely improbable in both cases that you will win, but slightly less in the second one.
225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An interesting story and experience of a gambler on: April 16, 2024, 03:46:51 AM
What exactly do you think we call this type of gambler? For he is not only addicted to gambling, but he seem to be also addicted to buying stuffs he obviously does not need, and absolutely not interested in..

Again, alot of money can be made through gambling if one is lucky, but it also can destroy the person if he or she does not, or fail to control him or herself..
Anyways, lets discuss about this, feel free to put your comments below.

He calls himself a degenerate gambler. He may not be addicted in the sense of having the need to gamble every day but he has dysfunctional behavior.

This kind of thing could be avoided if people actually understood deeply the concept of expected value.  The moment he wins 65,000 with a bet of 35 he is winning much more than the expected value. A bet of 35 in a casino is always worth less than 35. So, if the expected value is 34 for example and you win 65,000, you have been too lucky and you are going to pay for it by losing a lot if you continue betting. On top of that, you still deposit 2K and turn it into 30K, so you are already at the limit of having so much luck that you have nothing left to lose. And what does he do? Keep betting, and therefore losing.
226  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 16, 2024, 03:39:01 AM

Well, it must be that one but I misremembered it, as I thought it was a much more recent statement and confused the word ("Bolshevik" instead of "EUSSR").

You can't really expect theymos to break the law.

I did not say that I expect him to break the law. But what was in the past a categorical statement saying that he was not going to do that if he got a requirement from Europe, as the overton window shifts it may come from the US, and so I don't think he's going to say he's going to ignore the requirements that come from USASSR.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: April 15, 2024, 02:55:01 AM
When someone has patience, of course this will help them in managing the funds they use for gambling.

The OP was first talking about sports betting and then casino games, which are essentially different. Patience can help you win money in the long run in skill games, but in casino games what it can help you do is play in a more controlled way, avoiding that you end up betting more than you had planned and having extremely negative sessions. If you play patiently and play slots for example, surely after a big win you will end your session and leave, but if you are playing impatiently, you will want to continue, you will find the big win too little and you will look for a higher multiplier, and you will surely end up losing your winnings and much more.
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: texa hold'em on: April 15, 2024, 02:46:20 AM
Good luck with the issue but I see it difficult. Of all the crypto poker projects I don't remember any that succeeded, and the established houses that offer poker can't even compare with the fiat houses.

But apart from that, the way you ask for help for your project, in which you don't even spell the word right in the title and in the OP it's not clear what you want, doesn't make me predict that you are going to be very successful, and apparently I'm not the only one.
229  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 15, 2024, 02:40:56 AM
Don't make a wild guess, specially when it can create a chaos.

Well, I think it's not bad to have clarified it, as I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was thinking of you.

Plus I don't think Theymos would have to abide by anything the EU decreed.  Not that Europe and the US don't cooperate, but whatever.  This whole situation is just frustrating.

I do believe that he would have to abide. When you offer services to the people of a country you have to abide by the laws of that country even if you are not headquartered there.
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden’s 30% tax is not welcomed by crypto industry on: April 15, 2024, 02:27:06 AM
The United States occupies first or second place in Bitcoin mining, and this clear hostile policy of the American government towards Bitcoin and everything related to it will cause the United States to lose an important economic resource to other countries.

Really? A socialist measure is going to destroy a sector? Not a chance. It's like all those companies that have been fleeing states like California or NY to Texas, Florida or Tennessee because they are crazy or something and don't realize how good the high taxes, excessive regulations, legal uncertainty, tolerance of crime and the like are.
231  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 14, 2024, 06:18:07 PM
Soon we'll have to enter our National ID number every time we go online.

I remember years ago there was an EU project to require every user to identify themselves to access online social networks that could include forums, and theymos said something like that he was not going to pay any attention if a "Bolshevik" EU requirement came for that. In view of what's happened recently, I am not so sure what he would do now if such a requirement came, especially from the USA.
232  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 14, 2024, 06:11:46 PM
I think many will blame Royse for that and the other campaign manager, who is anonymous atm.

No, I don't think it's that anonymous and I don't think people will blame that other campaign manager. If I had to bet on someone I would bet on my current campaign manager Little Mouse, as it is widely known that Royse777 and him are friends, and when Royse777 talks about "the" other campaign manager I think it is clear who he is talking about.

But I doubt that many people will blame him, since at least in public he keeps away from any controversy. I don't remember him intervening when I had big arguments with Royse777 neither in icopress or Gazeta vs Royse, or in other controversies.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Iran strikes Israel. Crypto crashing heavily... on: April 14, 2024, 04:28:05 AM
I don't think that's the reason for the price crash and I don't think it's a crash if it was a crash it fluctuate to the bottom but it's not.

I agree. I think the strike is one of the reasons for the decline. Another could be tax day, as DaveF points out, but I think another important one is the recent inflation data in the USA that changed the expectations about the rate policy, and that has affected the markets in general.
234  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] [banned mixer] Signature Campaign | Up to $120/W on: April 14, 2024, 04:22:06 AM
Lol.

Why don't these things surprise me?

I suppose theymos didn't have enough technical knowledge to see that Jambler is a mixer and these three have enlightened him?  Grin

Anyway, I don't want to get too much into this, I already had enough with one of the protagonists back in the day and another one I have him on ignore.
235  Economy / Reputation / Re: Get 201 merits in 2 months from a farm on: April 14, 2024, 04:15:24 AM
I have noticed something strange about that user who was reported in this thread. After the report the user hasn't got any merits, and that's a quite strange thing.

I know that we can't really say that he/she's the one operating all those accounts, but it's strange that he/she hasn't got any merits in last 2 weeks.

Another strange thing is that the OP hasn't sent any merits after 3rd of April and that's the day when OP of this thread has created the thread. There's something shady or I'm overthinking?

This is further evidence that they have been caught and now they are trying to hide it. You're not overthinking anything, it's okay to keep an eye on them and realize this.

I think he/she/they have adopted the strategy of keeping a low profile to try to keep it from going any further.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: By the end of 5th Bitcoin halving wait 116 days (1 year / π= 3.14) on: April 13, 2024, 05:49:49 AM
116 days later is target of 97% of Bitcoin limit in circulation.

You start from a false premise, there's a real world out there outside the calculations, you know? Bitcoins lost are no longer in circulation, so we have probably already reached that percentage, but as we cannot calculate those lost with certainty we cannot speak with certainty about the percentage of Bitcoins in circulation.
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celebrity Poker Games: Publicity Stunt or Genuine Passion? on: April 13, 2024, 05:42:12 AM
Celebrities who play poker are often the sucker at the table, even if they don't think so themselves. They are people who earn their main income in other ways and who have some idea of playing poker but they aren't nearly as good as professional players, who are happy to invite them. For the industry in general it's also good because it's good publicity.
238  Economy / Gambling / Re: What are your expectations for Casino coins in this coming bull run? on: April 13, 2024, 05:35:40 AM
1. Amongst the three casino tokens I mentioned above, if you were to invest in one, which would it be?

2. Are there any new casino tokens you think will do well in this coming bull run? Please tell the community and briefly introduce the project to us..

3. Overall, how are you expecting casino tokens to perform generally, in this coming bull run.?

I think quite similar to davis196.

1. None.

2. If new casino tokens are released, I would expect to see a rise due to the novelty, but I would not put much hope in it in the long term. If casinos release them, it is because they are profitable for them, not necessarily because they are profitable for customers. The only sense I see in acquiring it is for the advantages it gives in the casino, but even so, with the destruction of value in the long term I think they are not worth it.

3. The long term trend for those crappy tokens will be to go down, but with the bull market they may have some upside moments.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin = Proof of Scam ? on: April 13, 2024, 05:25:17 AM
White paper does not mention halving !

So what if it doesn't mention it? It's bullshit for you to say it's a scam because it doesn't explicitly mention halvings in the white paper. What are you expecting? That we call you a genius for saying that nonsense?
240  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Future of online poker - PokerFi on: April 12, 2024, 02:19:18 PM
Also, it looks like website doesn't accept Bitcoin and Altcoins except its PokerFi currency.

It's not going to succeed. Anything that puts barriers in the way of people spending money goes against business. Has it ever happened to you to go to buy something online, have a problem and they ask you to put your card numbers back in or something, and you decide not to make the purchase? If I want to play poker, I see this site, I think about depositing and playing, but I see that for that I have to buy a shitcoin that I do not have, it is quite likely that I will not deposit and instead go to a site that accepts Bitcoin or a fiat one.
