...

You're right, I just tried to verify it again using Electrum and it did verify this time, I guess a space slipped in before or something.

Please just leave me alone, you said earlier you don't feel sorry for me, and that's ok. But I just don't understand why you spending your time on people and things you don't care about?
Spend your time on happy things and friends & family instead and please leave me alone. It's enough to just know that I won't get the $66 back. Thank you.

I'm just doing some research to see if it's true that I have to come back here next year to apologize to you.

You and Wolf are welcome back in a year or so and apologize to me, im in no rush and I am much bigger then both of you and don't let my feelings control my actions.

By the way, no matter how much you say, you don't control feelings very well.
1102  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Alt account or loan defaulter [Obari] on: August 25, 2023, 07:42:15 AM
I have highly tried to show that obari is the alt account of the borrower. Probably you have not see the quoted post of obari and also you have not gone through the reference link. If you read the quoted post of obari and reference link then it will be clear to you whether they are alt or not.

I have indeed seen it. See the bolded part:

Sashan says that Obari is an alt of Sakanwa, and it seems so from the way he talks in the PM he sent him, but to top it off I just saw that Obari has asked sashan for a loan right now LOL.

What I see is that he probably got confused of account when he sent you the private message and instead of sending it to you from Sakanwa's, by mistake he sent it to you from Obari's account.

Funny how things work here
And respectful  I'm a user who is very committed  in the lending board and on several occasions I've asked shashan for a loan and he turned me down and I even asked for a loan this morning because as we all know that it takes sometimes several hours before shashan approves of loans and since my appointment  with the doctor was supposed to be tomorrow, I had to seek a loan so I can get ready before tomorrow.

That's all well and good, but what do you have to say about you managing both the Obari and Sakanwa accounts?

1104  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Alt account or loan defaulter [Obari] on: August 25, 2023, 07:24:45 AM
It took me several times reading the posts to understand. The truth is that I don't feel sorry for CYBER_COWBOY, now Cantlogin or any of his alts, nor for the accounts that borrowed from him and have now defaulted.

Summary for those who want to understand without diving through the posts:

Sakanwa borrowed 0.00203BTC from CYBER_COWBOY, for which he had to pay back 0.00224BTC. He has defaulted on that loan, now excusing himself that CYBER_COWBOY has lost access to his original account or is hacked, and asks for an extension for one more month. The lender disagrees and sashan further tells him that he should repay the loan to the same address that sent him the funds originally.

Sashan says that Obari is an alt of Sakanwa, and it seems so from the way he talks in the PM he sent him, but to top it off I just saw that Obari has asked sashan for a loan right now LOL.
1105  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Disable merits in the Wall Observer thread on: August 24, 2023, 09:33:15 AM
I think the names of the biggest offenders from the WO thread (the ones who are handing out merits to posts that don't deserve it) should be compiled into a list and then someone should PM them with a request to visit and comment in this thread.  That way if they didn't realize this was a problem that's being noticed by the community, they'll have no excuse in the future.

And after that, if the behavior isn't stopped perhaps DT members can come up with a plan of action--or not.  I don't actually know how bad the problem is in the WO thread.

I agree on the part that goes to good. Tell those who give merits too blithely to come to this thread to be aware of the problem because some of them may not even be. But I don't know what strength you think DTs can have over people who don't participate in signature campaigns, are loaded with Bitcoins, and practically their participation in this forum is limited to that thread.
1106  Economy / Economics / Re: My wealth plan for next 3 years on: August 24, 2023, 07:54:45 AM
Oh my God, I had not seen this thead.

My wealth plan for next 3 years

I will take loans becouse fiat value is high so usd value ATH.
I will invest in btc, gold, silver becouse money is now expensive so when i borrow now the bull run Will make profit i make profit and from the profit i make money for myself and i can Pay the % to lender.
...
I have 2-3 years to get out of the assets but right now i'll get rid of money i'll invest all the money becouse i know upcoming inflation will eat all the value of money.
...

A seamless plan, eh? And you don't count the risk. The fact that you haven't earned a single merit in the time you've been on the forum makes me think that your plans are not very reliable.

I've been on forums for a long time and the typical thread like this always comes up of someone saying they're going to take a loan to invest in X. They always end badly. Either they buy before a market downturn and are left paying the loan and unable to sell, or even if the plan starts out halfway well they even leverage more or do something stupid that leads to bankruptcy. The most common is that they do not even come back to the forum, the typical case of someone who takes a loan to buy bitcoin when it was at $60K, and when the downturn comes and falls to almost $15K does not reappear on the forum. He probably sold at a loss out of panic and stayed paying the loan.

It is better not to have debts of any kind but if you get into debt to invest it has to be very well calculated with a good debt to equity ratio and making sure you have enough cash flow to meet payments. Do not have a fantastic plan like the one in the OP that will make you go from poor to rich almost magically.
1107  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: This Will give you motivation to learn finances and market the right ways on: August 24, 2023, 07:44:36 AM
Seeing the title, I was expecting something more solid, and not the garbage the OP has written, but seeing that he has been tagged as idiot, liar and scammer now I understand it better. Don't be surprised if after this crap analysis he tries to sell you some infallible trading system with which to make a lot of money.

1108  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Disable merits in the Wall Observer thread on: August 24, 2023, 07:35:19 AM
It's been a while since I've been on the WO thread but I remember this being a problem for some time, I guess it's been exacerbated now. I remember naim027 and several of his alts getting merit there. And then other Bangladeshi accounts that were discussed a month or two ago on Reputation had also received merit there.

As soon as you visit the thread you know that saying bullish statements about the price, especially if we are in bull market, or saying you have bought a certain amount of Bitcoin is quite likely to get you merit there.

I think theymos thinks very hard before setting changes, but I hope he takes this into consideration, although I would like to know what the regulars there think, if they share the opinion or not. Maybe it's making the righteous pay for the sinners and they take away some of the fun they have there.

My question is, why regulars there are not more selective when meriting as its in their best interest in order to keep the thread clean from that thrash.

My guess is that they don't give it much thought. Many of them have accumulated a lot of Bitcoin for a long time, notice that few of them participate in signature campaigns and 90% or more of what they write is in the WO thread, so I don't think they give it more importance than clicking for a like on Instagram or Facebook.
1109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unknown Bitcoin Whale Gains $3B in 90 Days on: August 24, 2023, 07:29:48 AM
Well but as the same news item you link says:

Quote
It’s possible the address, which is still relatively new, could be another crypto exchange reorganizing its BTC reserves.

In other words, we must doubt that it is a new shark accumulating if we do not have more data. Why it is accumulating so much Bitcoin in an address would have to be seen, but the most normal thing is that it is an entity and not an individual.
1110  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: .0043 bitcoin loan defaulted by [Devawnm367] on: August 24, 2023, 07:23:43 AM
And few people really need funds if all of us stop then those needy people will face a lot of problems that's the main reason for lending.
Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but in most cases I don't think you help people who have money problems by lending and making them pay interest. They're only digging a deeper hole, instead of saving up once and being ahead for the rest of their life.

From what sashan says, I see that he does it partly out of altruism, but many times to get out of the hole as you say is as easy as tightening the belt for a while, which will be more or less long depending on the size of the hole. But the thing is that when I see people asking for a small loan, and after paying it back they ask for another one, and another one, I tend to think that things are going to end badly. It is not necessarily so in 100% of the cases but it indicates a bad management of own resources and not knowing or ignoring basic rules of personal finance.
1111  Economy / Economics / Re: How Does devaluation of currency helps to build a dwindling economy? on: August 23, 2023, 08:20:20 AM
Currency devaluation is a complex issue that should not be considered in isolation from other factors, as pooya87 has explained very well.

Apart from what he has said I wanted to add that inflation is a double-edged sword that many politicians play with because they are addicted to spending in a way that gives an initial stimulus to the economy but in the long run is counterproductive. In general, politicians do not stop increasing public spending, and if they do it for example by giving subsidies for the most disadvantaged or certain sectors to develop, at first those subsidies stimulate those sectors or the economy around those classes disadvantaged by the initial spending. Now, since this is not done with money that they have but that they create out of nothing, what happens is that if a politician distributes $500 a month payments for the underprivileged, after not long those $500 have the purchasing power that $400 had shortly before they started distributing the payments. What does the politician do? Raise the amount of what he gives, and maybe he raises it to $550 or $600, but in terms of purchasing power it ends up being worth less than the $400 it was before. This has been typical in South American economies and other countries, where in the end the bill has many zeros but in reality it has less purchasing power than a $1 bill.

This is explained in a general way, because for example the USA also prints money for a lot of incentives, subsidies and payments, but its economy allows it to back it up in a certain way, with a devaluation that compared to that of countries like Venezuela or Argentina is nothing.
1112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long can Bitcoin out perform inflation in the long run? on: August 23, 2023, 08:04:29 AM
Every year that you are not selling any bitcoins (as a commodity) ...the inflation that you have to beat with this investment... accumulates.

Example : Year 1 = 10% / Year 2 = 20% / Year 3 = 30% .......and so on. You are also not gaining any interest on any of those coins... so they are dormant during the hoarding period. (When you eventually sell them, you have to divide the profit into the years that you hoarded it to see if you beat inflation)

What strategy do you use to beat inflation with your Bitcoin investment?

I think you make it too complicated. Taking out volatility, i.e. for example years when inflation is 5% and the price of bitcoin drops by 50%, if we look at the long term, as long as you hold your bitcoin for at least one cycle, you will be beating inflation. Whether you make profits by spending your bitcoin or exchanging it for fiat or not, it doesn't matter. If you still hold it without selling or spending it, you have an asset whose purchasing power has more than beaten inflation for the period you have held it.
1113  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: .0043 bitcoin loan defaulted by [Devawnm367] on: August 23, 2023, 07:57:53 AM
This is really sad, it seems there are already 3 accounts that were known can be trusted, have green trust and good record in lending history, but they still scam in the end. Is Bitcointalk account is worthless now since they're willing to run their reputation? I mean there are so many signature campaigns comes up, they can use that opportunity to make some money.

I don't quite understand it either, by defaulting on the loan they lose the opportunity to make money on that bitcointalk account, which is pretty stupid financially speaking.

Causes for them to do this I can think of is that they have other accounts on the forum that they are monetizing, but I think this is less likely, or that they are degenerate gamblers, or that they use drugs or something.

That in case they are participating in signature campaigns, although I think that in this case he was not participating, and it is not 100% clear to me why sashan gave him the loan, I guess because Devawnm367 had a previous history of having returned loans.
1114  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: August 23, 2023, 07:45:39 AM
Yeah, I generally don't really care about people shitposting, I would just report and move on.

It becomes far more dangerous if people are blatantly spreading misinformation with the potential of causing harm, which was what I observed at that point in time. Neutral feedback was probably necessary in those situations.

As I can see, he never replied when you asked him for sources. Obviously, because you can't give sources for garbage.
1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you go about realizing gains? If you opt not to, what is your reason? on: August 23, 2023, 07:43:48 AM
What I do is a variant of DCA in which I make partial sales in bull markets.

The pure DCA strategy consists of buying exactly the same amount per week or per month for a period of time. Let's say you set out to buy $100 a month in Bitcoin for 10 years. It can also be indefinite, like the one that makes DCA for retirement and eventually leave it to your heirs.

But the thing is that with the modified DCA strategy I take advantage of low points in the market to buy a little more, as I did at the levels below $20K that we had recently and for the next cycle I plan to make partial sales above $100K, but always making sure that I keep a good amount of Bitcoin for the future.

If you want a more detailed and sophisticated explanation, ask JayJuanGee, who has very long explanations on the subject.
1116  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: August 23, 2023, 07:35:35 AM
The OP[/url] literally says you can use GIF.

Yes, lol:

- It is only allowed to upload images in formats accepted by the forum (JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF).

So to sum it up: Latviand asks for something that's already there, which he doesn't need, but hopes to be added anyway. He's clearly only posting to reach a target, without reading anything.
He received feedback from ranochigo 3 years ago:
Quote
User has absolutely zero idea of what's going on in the thread.
It's still the same.

I've had a quick look at his posts, and it doesn't seem to be a constant thing these types of posts (ask something basic that is in the OP, and it is clear that he is not interested because he does not use it), but the fact that he has only earned 72 merits since the merit system was introduced indicates that he doesn't put much effort into what he writes.
1117  Economy / Services / Re: Community Management Services (Vouched and Trusted) on: August 22, 2023, 07:55:08 AM
That's all well and good, but do you have any experience in the crypto world? It seems to me that you have a lot of competition around here, and not mentioning anything about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies seems like a disadvantage.

On the other hand, I would say that here in the forum you pay more for projects than a monthly flat fee, which is what you are proposing.

But, hey, good luck with your pitch.
1118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big surprise in mid-August - Do not panic!!! on: August 22, 2023, 07:50:18 AM
Well we hope you are right because this time is now. But it is hard not to panic when we see the price of Bitcoin go down 4,000 in less then 1 week.
But I am still 'bullish' and it helps when I read things like this. A Bitcoin whale has accumulated more then $3,087,545,354 of Bitcoin in the last 3 months. And now he is the third largest Bitcoin whale in the world.
https://dailyhodl.com/2023/08/21/mysterious-bitcoin-whale-accumulates-over-3087545354308754535-worth-of-btc-in-less-than-three-months/

News like that does not surprise me. The really rich take advantage of times like this to buy cheap. Next cycle, when we pass $100K and people are making wild predictions, saying we'll soon hit $200K and $300K in the same cycle, that's when they'll start selling.

The bad thing about this cycle is that it has been a bit disappointing in terms of returns, and one is already looking forward to the joys to come. But we will have to wait.
1119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading and gambling on: August 22, 2023, 07:38:26 AM
For some time now I've been pondering on this matter, because I see similarity between bitcoin trading and gambling, so I'm wondering whether they're the same thing...
...
So having made all this comparisons, do you think that bitcoin can be classified as gambling?

I am going to speak from my experience and I believe that there is more similarity between certain types of "gambling" such as sports betting and poker and trading than between the classic casino gambling, in which there is a mathematical certainty of losing money in the long term.

In trading, as in sports betting and poker, you can lose money but with study, patience and effort you can make money in the long run.

I would say that to the extent that someone gets into trading following the fashion of the moment, with little knowledge and using a lot of leverage is gambling, but if you take your time to study, test and manage a bankroll, or as they say in the field of trading, is doing something more like what the winning players of poker and sports betting do.

In fact, a while back when the poker tables started getting tougher I saw people say on poker forums that they were starting to try trading, but I don't know how they got on.
1120  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Whirlwind.money - withdrawals are not being processed ⚠️ on: August 22, 2023, 07:27:15 AM
There definitely needs to be more work in ensuring that both campaign operators and participants aren't promoting a current or future scam.

I don't know what work you expect to be done when the very majority opinion of DTs is that only when you have hard evidence beyond reasonable doubt is when you should red paint a profile. The scam is only red painted a posteriori, when it is already evident that it has occurred. If you add to that the fact that the scammer spends his money in promoting his project here, nobody will bite the hand that feeds him.

There is not going to be anything that can be done from the forum beforehand to prevent if someone plans to scam with a bit of brains. It is only to be verified a posteriori, when it has already taken place.

I also don't think it would achieve much if people would agree to act more preventively with the trust system, especially if the scammer invests money promoting the project on the forum and also with a bit of brains.
