1041  Economy / Reputation / Re: JollyGood is trusted by - and question. on: September 07, 2023, 06:08:04 AM
Nice thread. Looks like there's an interesting new drama, especially about @jollygood, I'm really excited today

Pointless drama. I doubt that not even 20% of those who have JG on their trust list are going to change it for this thread. JG has already been talked about a lot in the forum and some people have already excluded him. This thread does not add much more.

-snip

Since this thread is not about you and me, I'm not going to respond to what we've already talked about many times.
1042  Economy / Reputation / Re: JollyGood is trusted by - and question. on: September 07, 2023, 05:51:33 AM
I don't know why you don't apply yourself. You have a garbage feedback in my profile that you yourself have recognized that it is in a grey area, that is to say, that you are veiledly recognizing that it is garbage. It prevents me from joining some signature campaigns.

Lead by example.

You only see the speck in someone else's eye.

I trust JG among other reasons because he made a perfect reading of the garbage feedback you left me.
1043  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Mixing coins through exchanges on: September 06, 2023, 03:55:25 PM
Your withdrawal would then come from one of the colder wallets (not from the address you deposited to, and not necessarily the address your deposit was moved to).

I did that at first but with casinos. But you can do it only with casinos without KYC and without wagering requirements, which are almost non-existent nowadays.

To make potential outside observers lose track of my transactions on the blockchain, I deposited from different addresses of mine, but creating each time a different deposit address in the casino. Then I withdrew. The withdrawals always came from a large address that had nothing to do with any of the others, as my deposits had not yet moved from the original address. Once I checked a while after the withdrawal was done and I saw that my deposits had been consolidated at another address, which was not the one from which the withdrawal was sent to me.

If someone wanted to track me down, she was lost. Of course the casino will know more about me than an outside observer and the government might require the casino to give them information from me but good luck sending subpoenas to Curacao to find out what happened to a few hundred dollars in Bitcoin.

Obviously, mixers are better, but this type of "mix" can be used in some case, such as the one I have explained.
1044  Economy / Economics / Re: CBDCs are created for unemployment purpose on: September 06, 2023, 03:40:01 PM
@OP the link of the news you use are broken, replace with this one https://www.bitcoininsider.org/article/225632/cbdcs-will-gradually-displace-private-banks-says-russian-lawmaker

CBDCs aren't created for unemployment purpose, if private banks are replacing the traditional or conventional banks, do you think all of employment who're work on conventional banks don't have to work anymore? it's just only replacing.

I totally agree with that (also that the OP has to change the link).

CBDCs eliminate the need for bank employment, and thus will cause unemployment, and not the opposite, which is what the title states. What happens is that the socialist politicians do not like this and what they are going to do is to maintain banking jobs that are not needed with CBDCs artificially so that these jobs are not lost.

At least in the first stages, in the same way that jobs were maintained in mining or other sectors with strong unions, but over time traditional banking will gradually change until it has nothing to do with what it is today.
1045  Economy / Reputation / Re: If someone is a proven liar, do they deserve to be given negative trust? on: September 06, 2023, 03:30:42 PM
Anyway, OP, you better take these trust things patiently and not get too emotionally involved. I'm telling you from experience.

There is a Thick-Skinned Gang Leader on the forum that we should all learn from in this regard, me included.
1046  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Accelerated U.S. Bitcoin ETF Adoption on: September 06, 2023, 03:26:28 PM
The SEC does not want capital flowing from the dollar to cryptocurrencies. A spot ETF will attract large capital to the market, with which they will buy bitcoins, so the old manipulator will lose its influence in this market. Now, manipulating the price of Bitcoin will require a lot of money.

Interesting theory or stupidity?

Well, I wouldn't call it stupidity out of respect for good debate among forum members, but I don't agree with the theory. Someone who has a lot of bitcoins from the early years, if a lot of money comes in to buy Bitcoin for the ETF, what they are going to be is richer. Besides that in the early years it was much easier to get them, even mining with a laptop and cheaper.

If someone had, for example, 200,000 Bitcoins from the early years, Saylor with all the money he has spent, several billions of dollars, would still not have as many Bitcoins as him (Saylor has personally 17,732 and MSTR 152,800).

I don't know what the current holders of large amounts of early bitcoins will think, but if I were one, I would want a lot of money coming into the market.
1047  Economy / Reputation / Re: If someone is a proven liar, do they deserve to be given negative trust? on: September 06, 2023, 03:16:37 PM
Well, that's up to you. We all lie at some time in our lives. The problem is lying too much or some fat lies that cannot be forgiven.

If you believe that a certain person is lying and this makes you distrust him/her for a trade, leave him/her negative feedback. Others will exclude you from their trust list if they don't agree, but this is relative because if they agree with the rest of the feedbacks and not with one in particular they will not exclude you.
1048  Economy / Gambling / Re: COINS.GAME | THE MOST REWARDING CRYPTO CASINO on: September 05, 2023, 01:54:34 PM
Well, at least you bought a copper membership and made a decent OP. It's just that we see too many cheap presentations and in such a competitive environment it's hard to stand out if you don't do things right.

I see on the one hand that you have KYC which I don't like in cryptocurrency casinos, but more and more casinos are implementing it, and also responsible gaming features, such as auto-exclusion which I believe should be mandatory for any casino.

I guess if you know the forum you know that the best way to popularize the casino is to run a signature campaign. You have a lot of reliable managers that can run it for you.
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could be All time high for Bitcoin for all time? on: September 05, 2023, 01:43:18 PM
You cannot predict the highest it will ever get to cause it is impossible to predict the global economic situation in a century or a millennium from today. There will be so many changes in the value of fiat and even the existence of fiat and if the world moved from the current monetary system to a different one.

Inflation will always exist and will factor in for anything Bitcoin is priced against and a time could come when it is valued as a currency and not a product.

- Jay -

Right, but not only that. Maybe the world will go to shit because of a nuclear war in a few years and the ATH will have been the highest it has ever been until then. Or it's the Bitcoin that goes to shit in 50 years no matter how hard it is for us to conceive.

The point is that the price will most likely continue to rise in the long run, albeit with volatility, for two reasons: the devaluation of fiat currencies, which is not going to stop, and that Bitcoin will be an increasingly appreciated and scarce asset.

Making guesses about what the peak will be in 100 years does not make much sense, because you would have to factor in dollar inflation as well, if the dollar still exists by then; let alone the peak of all future history.
1050  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: September 05, 2023, 01:19:23 PM
It's the opposite, the tendency (cyclicality of Bitcoin's price movement) suggests we will have another bull run after the halving.

Of course, the most logical thing to do is to rely on what is most probable, not on what is improbable. You can think many similar things. What if I'm walking down the street and a brick falls on my head or I'm struck by lightning? These are events that can happen, but they are extremely improbable, and you are not going to base your life, your actions, on them, like staying at home to avoid being killed by a brick that comes loose and falls from a building.

The same with Bitcoin. Chances are that the price will continue to rise, albeit with volatility and slower and slower, over the next 10 years.
1051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mempool reaches 600K transactions on: September 05, 2023, 01:09:57 PM
I don't find any of the 4 answers suitable for me. Maybe the closest to what I think is that it should be cleared quicker, but that's not going to happen as long as a lot of people keep spamming the mempool with ordinals. It's not so much a question of speed of clearance as of people willing to pay ever increasing fees for something that is not what the Bitcoin blockchain was originally intended for.

In the last month or so there were still a lot of transactions in the mempool but the fees went down. I don't know if it's back from the August vacations that the spammers are back to work, so to speak.
1052  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin really risky as they say? on: September 04, 2023, 01:54:53 PM
First we would have to see what we mean by risk, but in a general way we can say that yes, it has risk because it is a volatile asset. Then there are things that have more or less risk. For example, trading Bitcoin has more risk than investing in the long term. And if you add leverage even more risk. Although it can also be more profitable. In the same way that buying fixed income has less risk and at the same time is potentially less profitable than buying shares of a small cap.

I would recommend the OP to educate himself about economics and finance and learn about risk management.
1053  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Alt account or loan defaulter [Obari] on: September 04, 2023, 01:37:04 PM
Wait a minute.
I was just brushing my teeth and for some reason thought about this case again.
Obari's “explanation” was that he uses Sakanwa’s phone.

Something doesn’t add up here.

So did Sakanwa reply with Obari’s account because it was still logged in?
Also I don't know if we mentioned this, but why does he write: "I want to correct that Obari isn't a loan defaulter neither do I have any alt what so ever."

Who wrote this reply? Obari? Sakanwa? Why would he refer to himself as Obari instead of "I" but writes "I don't have any alt" some words later?

I'm just a bit confused here.

In these cases the simplest explanation is the true one. We cannot be 100% sure but we can be something like 99.9% sure. It is not only in that text, later he also wrote something similar.

I swear with my life that I have no connections with any alt account and Obari  is an entirely different person and I've worked earnestly and given all my best to grow my account.

Why do you talk about yourself in the third person? Did you forget again that you are logged in with Obari's account? For me you have so many alts that you can't make yourself clear. Something like the one who has multiple personalities but in the forum. From time to time they mess up.

This type of multi-accounts when they are caught what they do is to invent sophisticated stories to see if they can get rid of the punishment, they put some element to make the story a sobbing one and make people feel sorry for them. I remember in the case of martyns when he was caught with that he was not the original owner of the account, because it had been created by an Indonesian and he wrote from Nigeria, he said that he had a brother in Indonesia who had given him the account. It could be seen in the comments on the subject that there were people who felt sorry for him.

The case went so far that it started a debate on whether to tag for buying accounts.

Discussion on buying/selling accounts/users actively seeking possible bought acc

But now look, it has been reliably discovered that he was part of a much bigger ring. It wasn't just about buying an account.

1054  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: This might become a very important legal precedent for SEC vs. Coinbase on: September 04, 2023, 01:21:08 PM
I have said many times that Ethereum is an untouchable coin for regulators. The project has a very serious lobby...

Right. Yes, I believe that in 10 years almost all the shitcoins that exist now will have disappeared, but I think that Eth has all the chances of being one that will remain with us.

If it is according to your opinion, okay, they are securities. However, there are 2 judges that have already have made 2 favorable rulings saying that they are not securities.

Of course, the judges will have their reasoned opinion on the subject, just as Gensler has, and since we are in a forum exchanging opinions, I give mine in a reasoned manner.

ETH is also used for gas fees to use the Ethereum network very much like a commodity being used to run different industries.

I hadn't thought of that.
1055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me exchange my bitcoins on: September 04, 2023, 01:11:55 PM
I had to get paid for my house in bitcoins. Now I have found a person who will change my USDC into my currency in cash. Now I have to change bitcoins to USDC. I don't trust exchanges
None of this makes sense. Either you're trying to scam someone, or you're terrible native and someone is scamming you. Nobody has to sell their house for Bitcoin, that only happens if someone is very much into Bitcoin and knows exactly what he's doing

Naive I guess you mean. I also thought that maybe it's bad wording, since he doesn't seem to be very fluent in English.

I have interpreted that he has been paid in Bitcoin for some work he has done, and that he needs that money to pay his mortgage, but if he doesn't make it clear, who knows.

No KYC exchanges are for you if you don't want KYC.

Right.

Lol.
1056  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Newbie promoting Ponzi scheme on: September 04, 2023, 01:05:10 PM
I have also supported the flag as it is obvious it is a scam.

cdmg posts has been reported and one post already deleted but he continuesly posting. If any DT member felt that it is Ponzi scheme then i will request to tag this spammer for stop promoting spam in this forum.

They must have deleted his other posts, then, because there is only one in his post history, which is the OP. That one I don't think they're going to delete.

At least in that thread we haven't had the show of other times where alts or related accounts start popping up, all newbie or brand new saying they have used the service and it has enriched them a lot.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: September 03, 2023, 07:46:36 AM
I find horse racing betting interesting because I understand that there are people who make money in the long term, as happens with sports betting or poker, although they are a minority. It is essentially different from casino games, where there is an inexorable loss the larger the sample size.

- Do you honestly think running a prediction game (run with my own funds) would attract genuine interest in this and not just shitposting quota?

Based on me running something similar about poker on G&R, I'd say you'll attract some people who have a clue, not many, and depending on the degree of difficulty you pose. The higher the difficulty the fewer the responses.

- Is anyone here actually gambling on horse racing?

I don't, and therefore I wouldn't participate, but I wanted to give you my opinion.
1058  Economy / Economics / Re: How do we profit from Canadian recession? on: September 03, 2023, 07:35:00 AM
I don't see any reason to short Canadian currency that you can't use to short Bitcoin or whatever. If you think you're good at it and you want to take a risk, go ahead, but I'm more of a long-term investor, not worrying about the ups and downs of the market, without timing the market or speculating. In any case, if I knew the Canadian economy and its companies well, I would take advantage of buying cheap now for the long term.

1059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: imagining what he will be like the last halving on: September 03, 2023, 07:24:47 AM
These projections into the future I think we have to take them as a glimpse into the past. When we look at what the price was 10 years ago, for example, and see how much whoever bought Bitcoin then and has been able to hold at least a portion so has been able to profit.

In the same way, the OP poses a look far into the future that can serve as an example to see how precious a few satoshis will be then. I think we don't even need to look that far into the future. I think in 10 years or a little more 0.1 Bitcoin will be a small fortune.
1060  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk was down on: September 03, 2023, 07:11:56 AM
Yes, I noticed it about like 50 minutes ago or so?

I usually take a look at the forum before logging in and start writing and this happened to me a short while ago. But it didn't last long as you both say, the next time I tried I was able to read the forum.
