1061  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 650 usdt - Repay 715 on September 15 on: September 02, 2023, 07:45:54 AM
Are you willing to accept, and repay in bitcoin?

Yes.
...
*Obviously if possible I prefer to repay by LN

490 usdt equivalent in BTC refunded in advance
225 to be paid

Trx: 2b950254671e9e8680cf44595bf06647b3485ce3af439e31d47aa0a2d08ec9b3

It probably doesn't matter much, but from what I see I understand that there has been conversation between you by PM or somehow so that the partial return payment was not in Bitcoin but in USDT.

It's just that it draws attention but if DireWolfM14 has simply confirmed receipt of payment, it's because there has been an agreement between you.
1062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: September 02, 2023, 07:40:44 AM
Has your responsible gambling habit had any positive effects on your relationships with your spouse, kids, parents, and others? Has it improved your finances and helped you stay out of debt? Has it improved your mental health and well being in anyway? Has it been able to help you meet an urgent need? Let's discuss.

Well, the thing is that nowadays, just as there are many sites with responsible gambler features, if you are a degenerate gambler you will surely find casinos that don't have those features where you can lose a lot of money.

In my case, and I have already mentioned it once, I used the auto exclusion functions for short periods of time, 12 or 24 hours, very early on in my poker playing. As it was a new thing for me and I had heard that the game was very linked to gambling addiction, it was a way to contain the danger. Eventually I stopped using them, because it has become just another hobby that gives me extra money a month.
1063  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your anticipation on bitcoin market capitalization as for 2030 on: September 02, 2023, 07:30:11 AM
It's expected that the market capitalization of Bitcoin is going to be around 10 to 15 trillion by 2030 but it's still too early to predict that how high the market cap will go by then. The Bitcoin is going to get its upcoming halving event in 2024 and the next one after that is expected to be anywhere around 2028, and if we look at the history of Bitcoin then after each halving event the price as well as the market cap of Bitcoin has got quite noticeable growth.

And if we look in pure terms of $, from 2009 till now the market cap has grown in 14 years from 0 (let's say) to $500 billion. Now, to reach 15 trillion in 2030 it would need to grow 30 times more in half that interval, so it would need on average 60 times more investment than previously! Is it still that plausible?

I have been doing the calculation to answer the question conservatively and I believe that it will reach those levels. However, I see that you are basing your calculation on absolute figures, in millions of dollars, and I am basing it on percentages.

This cycle the maximum has been approximately 3.5X the peak of the previous cycle. Going into future cycles, as the price and market cap increases it is more difficult to move the price, I would guess an even lower percentage return of about 2.7X. That would give a peak of $0.5M for the cycle after halving, certainly by 2029 if the pattern repeats. But let's say for the sake of argument that the peak is reached by 2030. $0.5M for 20M or so Bitcoin gives us a market cap of $10T.

This is on paper, a lot can happen between now and then.
1064  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: This might become a very important legal precedent for SEC vs. Coinbase on: September 02, 2023, 07:18:15 AM
@Poker Player. You are asking a difficult question, however, let me ask you if gold miners find new deposits of gold and inflates the supply around the world, would this make gold stop being a commodity?

Gold miners can mine at more or less speed, and usually do so depending mainly on the price of gold, but what they cannot do is issue gold at will. For me Ethereum and almost all shitcoins are securities because if we go to examples we will see that corporate debt or bonds issued by a company have a centralized entity that issues them, the company, through the board of directors, and that issues them at will, as many as it wants. It does not mine, extract or produce them, it issues them.

But that I see a clear similarity between Eth and securites but I don't see it with gold.

1065  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Alt account or loan defaulter [Obari] on: September 02, 2023, 07:09:07 AM
There will be a new pay rate on YoMix campaign from tomorrow, and Obari's name isn't in the new spreadsheet. He wasn't accepted for the updated payroll.

Apart from what AHOYBRAUSE has said just to say that I have looked at the spreadsheet and yes he is on it, in row 17. As I have seen that several of you said contradictory things on the subject, although AHOYBRAUSE's seemed the most reliable, I went to check it.
1066  Economy / Economics / Re: Crisis like 1930 it's impossible now we are use to with good life on: September 01, 2023, 03:56:14 PM
Haha, every day I find funnier things on this forum.

 Grin

Shortmaster, I like your argument, as we are used to the good life, things can't go to shit, no?

How do you think people lived in the roaring twenties? The only difference is that there was less technology but in general in times like that people lived very well.

How did people live in 2006?

Your argument doesn't go very far but I find it amusing.

1067  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Whirlwind.money - withdrawals are not being processed ⚠️ on: September 01, 2023, 03:41:56 PM
After all, it's a forum, not a courtroom...

Well, it's quite funny that you say that, because there are a lot of DTs who believe that the trust system should function as a courtroom.

At the end of all this I have gone to support flag type 1 and I see that there are a few of us who support both flags. I don't think that much more debate is going to change the support to flag type 3. Even more so when the arguments seem to become entrenched and some people get annoyed, as usually happens with discussions of this type when they are prolonged.
1068  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: This might become a very important legal precedent for SEC vs. Coinbase on: September 01, 2023, 03:31:34 PM
May I know, bbc.reporter, zasad@ and Fiatless, how do you see Ethereum as a commodity?

Something that you can increase the supply of at will Vitalik Buterin, and that is, in fact, potentially infinite I don't see it as a commodity as one of the characteristics of them is that they are finite and cannot be produced at will.

I see this as bad news, because for me the only commodity is Bitcoin for its essential properties that it does not share with any shitcoin (I do not know all of them, I suppose that some could be, such as Litecoin, which is very similar to Bitcoin but certainly not Eth).
1069  Other / Meta / Re: How to get merit in this forum? on: September 01, 2023, 03:24:00 PM
To get merits in this forum it is important not to open repetitive threads asking questions that have been asked and answered a lot of times, and that you can easily find out at the click of a button, because otherwise you run the risk of ending up in the ignore lists of people who can give you merits.

I think you might as well ask the other related question that has been asked and answered on the forum a bunch of times, something like:

how earn btc from online???
1070  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Alt account or loan defaulter [Obari] on: September 01, 2023, 03:12:53 PM
I think the Sakanwa account is certainly taggable based on this:

.....

However, I'm hesitant to tag the Obari account without more sufficient on-forum evidence. If Sakanwa doesn't repay the rest of the loan in a timely manner (or the lender declares they have defaulted) then they should definitely be tagged for that. I feel like this person has already lost enough accounts recently and hopefully already learned their lesson.

I think Obari is breathing a sigh of relief after this.  Cheesy

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt too, at least for the time being on both accounts, keeping an eye on them if they pay back the loans they ask for.

Sakanwa participates in a signature campaign with Hhampuz and I would say that from past experience, he does not, at least automatically, kick participants out of the campaigns he runs for a couple of red tags. There was one exception with Whirlwind.money where he did kick one out but I think that was because of the higher requirements of the campaign.

Obari is happy because he has recently been accepted into the Yo!Mix campaign, so they both have cash flow to pay back the typical small loans that are given out on the forum.
1071  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take your eyes off from the fall in price on: August 31, 2023, 07:58:24 AM
As a young bitcoiner that is having plans to invest in bitcoin or already investing. How do you feel about the current price of bitcoin?
* is it encouraging to you that this is an opportunity for you to buy more.
* does it makes you  lose  hope concerning your investment that it should have gone beyond bitcoin current price of $25,835.

In my case, as I have been investing for a long time, first in the stock market and then in Bitcoin, doing DCA, I am indifferent to the current phase. I would like the price to go up and I am looking forward to the next bull market but this is what it is. The only thing I know is that by accumulating Bitcoin, and other assets, little by little in the future I will be better off financially than I am now, besides having part of your wealth in an asset extremely difficult to seize and censure is a plus.
1072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Irrefutable evidence that mixers alone are unsuitable for money laundering! on: August 31, 2023, 07:49:16 AM
As you rightly say, the big money laundering, of significant amounts, is done via international transfers and corporate networks. This has been known for a long time. Added to that is the problem that when a judge begins to investigate and finds evidence, he has to send international requests to the countries through which the money has passed to provide information. That if they do it, although nowadays almost all of them usually collaborate, but even when they do it the process takes a long time, and justice is not fast by itself.

As far as cryptocurrencies are concerned, I understand that if you want to launder large amounts you will have to do much more than pass (part of them) through a mixer.
1073  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Biden administration unveils (proposes) new crypto tax reporting rules on: August 31, 2023, 07:35:50 AM
The first thing I have thought about is what quantities we are talking about when reporting. According to the news:

Quote
It also extended reporting requirements for certain cash transactions of more than $10,000 to digital assets.

That is, from that limit onwards, certain transactions would have to be reported, not all, and I understand that transactions below that limit would be exempted, even when we talk about crypto-to-crypto exchange.

I expected much worse for Biden. In the EU legislation is underway to KYC all transactions, with no minimum exempt.

just like with internet sports gambling and online poker, no one wants to be doing business with american citizens. many sportsbooks and online poker sites stopped accepting americans.

As far as poker is concerned, this has been going on for more than 12 years now. They used to accept them illegally.
1074  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Alt account or loan defaulter [Obari] on: August 31, 2023, 07:19:40 AM
I swear with my life that I have no connections with any alt account and Obari  is an entirely different person and I've worked earnestly and given all my best to grow my account.

Why do you talk about yourself in the third person? Did you forget again that you are logged in with Obari's account? For me you have so many alts that you can't make yourself clear. Something like the one who has multiple personalities but in the forum. From time to time they mess up.

I've sincerely presented myself to the house and whatever decision taken is fine but growing an alt has never crossed my mind not even for a second because I'm still trying to create a reputation on the forum.

In this forum there is no problem with you having alts, the problems come if you break the rules with them.
1075  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Whirlwind.money - withdrawals are not being processed ⚠️ on: August 31, 2023, 07:10:33 AM
I am tagging everyone who is still supporting old decodx flag.
Very good to see OP got his refund, and for more details please read previous posts to understand better what happened,
Please remove your support and support new flag that is created:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3207

Apart from the fact that removing support for flag type 3 and support for type 1 would supposedly be the right thing to do, what difference does it make in terms of warning of the risk? I see that there are a lot of us who have not withdrawn support for type 3 and I am sure that more than half of us have heard about it.

Seeing that there are disparate opinions on the matter, I'm going to stand still for the moment.
1076  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice and more clarification about the forum on: August 30, 2023, 10:14:33 AM
If I were a stats freak I would investigate how many of these accounts that want everything handed to them on a platter instead of investigating themselves make it far in this forum. I would bet that the percentage is very low. How often do we get questions like this? Weekly at least. I have been and still am a member of other forums and I never see this question asked on them. I imagine the economic component in this one is what accounts for it.

OP, I too welcome you to the forum but my advice is to search for yourself, be self-reliant, and if you have to ask specific questions ask them after you have done some research.
1077  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Tax obligation for personal Bitcoin traded to Fiat on: August 30, 2023, 09:51:05 AM
If I transfer BTC into my Coinbase account from a personal wallet, and then sell my BTC for Fiat/USD... am I subject to tax obligation?

If yes, how much? In other words, what type of taxation am I subject to?

Intuition says there is no tax, for this is not income, is this true?

Depends. As Fiatless says taxation is relative to the country you live in, but I can tell you that, in general, if you have received that amount of Bitcoin for work you have done, it should be subject to income tax. Also if when you sell it you obtain a profit with respect to the fiat countervalue at the time you were paid for the work done, it would also be subject to capital gains tax. The same applies if you simply bought it. If you make a profit on it when sold, it is subject to capital gains tax.

But as said this may vary depending on your tax residence, and there are for example minimum exemptions or other exemptions that may apply.
1078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [JUST IN] Grayscale wins lawsuit against the SEC on: August 30, 2023, 09:39:49 AM
I don't get it: on the one hand, Bitcoin users are very much into "not your keys, not your coins". But on the other hand, "we" all want an ETF to pump the price. Which one is it? Encourage people to pay someone else to (promise to) hold Bitcoins for them, or encourage people to hold their own Bitcoins?

Those who want purely the latter are a very small minority. It's not just the ETF, without CEX the price today would be much lower for example. I try not so much to dream of an ideal world but to adapt to the one that exists and where we are going, and that is one where most Bitcoin transactions will go through centralized entities and KYC, leaving a small space (that I understand will be less and less as time goes by) for those who want privacy.
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock wants to reduce the price of Bitcoin on: August 30, 2023, 09:29:16 AM
Why believing everything you see online? It is even on a chat on Binance.

The source is very weak, you are right. I wouldn't be surprised by such a move by BlackRock, but to believe it I would have to see some more solid evidence than that. People may find it hard to manipulate the market, but BlackRock is the largest asset management firm in the world. If Musk can move the price of Bitcoin with a tweet, they can move it with rumors or whatever.

Although to speculate, I would almost say that if they are spreading that rumor it is because they have already bought and want the price to go up.
1080  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Alt account or loan defaulter [Obari] on: August 30, 2023, 09:16:27 AM
So far from what I can gather

...

So Obari = Sakanwa

...

So Obari = Sakanwa = hashrateproducts (the person who stole or bought that account)

Furthermore, hashrateproducts is linked to a group of bounty cheating accounts, some of which are even already banned

Mistafreeze Banned
blackened515
BlackViruse Banned
martyns
Blackpussy Banned
9jaspyware Banned
lesor Banned
Kumasi
Lordhermes

I just want to make a clear list of the linked accounts before I start tagging

Based on evidence collected here, the following are also alt accounts of the same person:

Cryptohermes05
omgitsmehehe
Blackvirus Banned

They probably have even more but the fact that they were operating a lot of these accounts simultaneously is pretty astounding... They were dedicated to their craft of multi-accounting but got too greedy in the end and made one too many slip-ups.

So any reason not to red tag Obari and Sakanwa?

Those accounts are why all started this second time (the first time was for martyns) and thanks to nutildah and FatFork analysis we got blockchain connections linking them. I think some DTs should red tag them, but I'm in a period of self-control of my tagging aggressiveness, so to speak, and I'd rather make sure I'm not missing anything before I am the first painting their profiles in red.
