221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: February 21, 2024, 02:09:09 PM
risking your job just to gamble during working hours is quite a stupid act. because gambling can be done whenever he wants, there is no need to do it during working hours. supposedly if he is smart, he can do it when he gets home from work or on the weekend, he can gamble all day until he gets tired. so there is no reason that a person is justified in gambling during working hours just because he cannot control his urge to gamble or is too bored at work.

This is doable if you are playing a casino game. However, if you are betting on sports and the schedule coincides with your working hours, you might be tempted to gamble to avoid missing the action. Additionally, since you are gambling, you may need to check the scores or watch a live stream, which typically consumes a significant amount of time. This is clearly taking time away from your work, making you less effective and you'll likely get fired anytime soon.

The stress is high for sports betting since normally games would end like 3 hours, I'm referring to basketball particularly NBA. And if you are following a lot of schedules at a given day, you'll end up consuming the entire 4 to 5 hours just to be updated of what is happening. I think any games could be stressful but it still depends on how you handle yourselves, but since we know that is the risk, a company will just try to ensure that it will not happen, so their measures is making prevention on this.
222  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Technical Analysis Really Work? on: February 20, 2024, 09:22:14 PM

I understand it really depends on the individual. How my skills are depends on me. Skills must be acquired over time.

Skills acquired along the way if we continue to trade and learn. Indeed, losses are not the thing we want to happen but it is been said that it is a helping situation for us to learn how trading works and it also helps us to find ways/strategies that will work in a certain condition. We lose money but we gain knowledge. But this never says that it remains like this as we find ways how to improve our trading skills and using tools such as Technical Analysis brings huge changes to the results. If many traders have seen it was helpful to them, that was impossible it never be helpful to you as well. Maybe it has never been applied right or your analysis needs to improve.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Wins: Your Money Was Returned to You. on: February 20, 2024, 02:08:42 PM
You win on your first try; that's "beginner's luck." Unfortunately, some may neglect the reality that most of us gamblers aren't really making money. The reality might be harsh for us if we keep tracking our wins and losses because, in all likelihood, we have more losses than wins. I'm referring to the individuals considered typical gamblers who don't treat gambling professionally.

If we're just looking to have fun, then we'll likely have moments to enjoy, but there are also times when we experience losses. Looking at the big picture, we realize we have no chance since this business is not for us to grow but for the casino industry to prosper.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 20, 2024, 01:25:44 PM
Speaking of coaches, have your heard about the Nets coach Jacque Vaughn, being fired?

Quote
Jacque Vaughn was fired as head coach of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and it appears his plan on moulding the team’s offensive identity around Ben Simmons may have played a role in that decision.

That is according to NBA insider Shams Charania, who claimed “multiple players” — including Spencer Dinwiddie and Mikal Bridges — had been “pretty vocal behind the scenes for months now about how the offence was running”.

https://www.foxsports.com.au/basketball/nba/nba-2024-brooklyn-nets-fire-jacque-vaughn-as-head-coach-mikal-bridges-voices-concern-around-offence-built-around-ben-simmons/news-story/8d4abed8e28f888be0661c5b81c30954

So as a NBA coach, there is no security of tenure, even if the Nets give him a 4 year contract as far as I know, they still fire him as they don't like what the team is going this season. Really just sad how a couple of years ago, they have Nash as coach and with their own big 3. And then just for them getting KD, Kyrie and Harden, they gave up so many future picks and now we've seen that the risk didn't pay-off i the end.

That's the difference between a coach and a player because when a player suddenly doesn't play well after getting a huge contract, he will only be in the trading block. A good example of that is Jordan Poole, who wasn't contributing to his current team and still enjoying a good salary.

For coaches, they don't receive as much compared to the players, but they have no security as to how long they'll stay. I hope the NBA will change this because you never know what's the politics inside. At least give them some security since they aren't paid as much as some high-earning NBA players.
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you stand to gain from the bull run. on: February 19, 2024, 09:29:43 PM
For procrastinators, It's high time you all start accumulating Bitcoin aggressively through the DCA method, so that you wouldn't be left out from such an amazing opportunity.
There is an underlying story that those who see the opportunity of Bitcoin earlier earn more. Even seeing the market corrections multiple times, if we have no trust in BTC, buying interest will never appear in our minds. Not all are meant to see the benefits of Bitcoin and not all can see that this is an opportunity because some are still influenced by bad wrong information in social media where it has been accused of a Scam or Ponzi scheme.

But we don't need to force everyone and accept the fact that Bitcoin is not for everyone but just for those who have trust. As the bull run is coming, we take this opportunity to prove that they are wrong.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investing in altcoin futures a good idea? on: February 19, 2024, 08:38:44 PM

Hi guys, do you think investing in altcoin futures is a good idea? Which altcoins do you think are best for this? I appreciate all the help Smiley
Not actually a bad idea as long as you choose those altcoins that have a working product. I recommend ETH but if you dare to choose shitcoins/useless projects, you are making yourself near to losing your money. Research is necessary in choosing altcoins and I suggest that you choose which you think you can benefit from it. The market is flooded with altcoins and shitcoins, we should be more careful. But if I were you, I would focus more on old coins that have been listed on big exchanges.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 19, 2024, 01:03:08 PM
I am curious how many are watching the All-Stars weekend games these days. Is the rating growing and becoming better than in the old days?
We thought it was boring but based on report they have a high viewership this 2024 all start.

Quote
State Farm All-Star Saturday Night draws most viewers in 4 years
The audience peaked with 5.4 million viewers from 10-10:15 p.m. ET during the Stephen vs. Sabrina 3-Point Challenge.

The overnight numbers are in: 10 million unique viewers in the U.S. watched State Farm All-Star Saturday Night on TNT, truTV and B/R Sports on Max, up 54% vs. last year.

It is the most-watched NBA All-Star Saturday Night in four years.
https://www.nba.com/news/all-star-saturday-night-ratings

Wow! That's surprising. I was thinking that the number of viewers had decreased since personally, I feel bored watching the All-Star game. Maybe I'm just getting older because when I was still studying, like when I was in high school, it was an anticipated game for me. But when I see some users feeling the same, then I realize it was really boring. It seems like the regular season is more fun to watch than this All-Star game. These players are just showcasing their skills in dunks and shooting beyond the arc but don't know how to play defense.
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 16, 2024, 02:14:11 PM
Just got lucky there, there were moments when I think that the Warriors are going to lose that game and choke again. As I remember there were games in the past at least 2 or 3 games for them that they have a good lead and then let their opponent put a comeback.

The warriors could have keep their win streak if they didn't allow the Clippers to come back and win. Despite that, I think the Warriors is a decent team and they still good to back, especially now that they are climbing in ranking, they'll continue to climb as being in the play-in tournament might be too risky for thme.

I didn't see the game because I just watch the Warriors game, but yes, Bucks under coach River is still struggling and trying to figure everything. For sure Doc Rivers will be criticized in this game. Congrats also to those who win tonight, I think majority ride on the Warriors to win ML or even -2.5 might do it for them.
You can avail and NBA league pass, you can watch games at the same time with 4 windows so you will not miss the action. I just recently subscribe, it's possible to watch but I can't focus, maybe you can if you'll try.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Repeating mistakes on casino games in gambling site on: February 16, 2024, 12:52:24 PM
the correct approach to gambling should be the one most similar to a mathematical/statistical approach.
there is no such thing as luck but there is "chance", "casuality"... looking for big payouts, however are always possible on paper this is equivalent to exposing yourself to significant risks....
If you want to have less pressure in gambling, believe in luck and don't gamble often, that's the key. However, if you like a long term success in gambilng, you should play the statistis and know your chances, no game that has a house edge would give gamblers success in the long run, everyone losses on that kind of games. Though it's not the most popular, but there are still people who focus their time and effort analyzing how to win here in reality, there's no way to win, unless you cheat.

The best way to win is to master yourself in gambling using your skills, and that is only good for skilled based type of gambling. Yes there are mistakes along the way, but that's part of your long term journey, they say it's a long term process, then we do that.
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 16, 2024, 11:03:03 AM
Use an open-source wallet like Electrum if you are actively making a trade.
Use a hardware wallet if your purpose is storing long-term.

We choose what type of wallet depends on our needs, that is the thing we are supposed to do. Because if we just think about security, both are still prone to hacking but this can be avoided if we know how to securely keep our passwords. In fact, many holders are using Electrum wallet and they have no complaints of getting hacked. This means that it depends on the person and how cautious we are when visiting sites and opening links.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be very careful and attentive when selling your bitcoins on: February 15, 2024, 09:59:36 PM
What went wrong with this was he used the low liquidity exchanges. At first, he may looked and searched about the situation of the exchange before using it as it was very important because this is a big factor that affects the outcomes of our trade. He was supposed to be watchful about the price and set on desired price as I believe there is an option there. I could not imagine it going like that, it was a big loss for him and surely it was not easy to move on from that scenario. It was a lesson to learn and to realize how important to use reputable and big exchanges, and most of all, we know how to trade.
232  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 15, 2024, 09:30:21 PM
Let us correct that kind of mindset, Investing doesn't work like a magic wand that generates money instantly. Even if you invest in a popular asset, you still need to have a good understanding of the investment and the necessary actions to take in case of unexpected scenarios. It's crucial to educate ourselves and make informed decisions when it comes to investing.
The shape of each person's mindset in terms of investment and in terms of hoping to make a profit is different, but when it comes to investing in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies you must have a fairly wise mindset, such as not immediately expecting profits to come instantly. Because market conditions don't always work well enough, so in certain conditions everyone must be able to understand that we need to survive when conditions are bad and not panic when we see the price of the assets we invest in not moving well enough in a certain time.
It is to remain strong despite the unpredictable condition of the market. Investing is not just knowing how to hold but also knowing how to analyze the market and when to sell. Indeed, investing is not a quick rich scheme that after buying it generates a profit already but it takes several months or even years to see it. However, with the up and down movement of the price, we can take advantage of it and play the roller coaster trend to earn more.

Investing will be good if we know how to manage it also because I see that not all investors become successful due to mismanagement of funds and investment. It would be better to have money and knowledge to backup the situation as this is also a common reason why some investors fail.
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most challenges faced by gamblers on online casino platforms? on: February 15, 2024, 03:30:07 PM
I haven't experience the worst in a casino since I am always careful in choosing the gambling site I choose to risk my money. AFAIR, the most challenge I faced was just a delayed of withdrawal, it was a legit casino but not so popular, but at least I was able to withdraw my funds in 24 hours, but after that I didn't play anymore and choose those who  have quick withdrawal.

Personally, these are what i like on a casino.

-fast credit of deposit (automated by on blockchain record)
-quick withrawal (automated as well)
-quick grading of bets.
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP telling people how much Bitcoin you have on: February 14, 2024, 09:46:21 PM
People have realized already the risk of telling people about their personal lives, especially when mentioning wealth and investments as this will compromise their safety. It is to see that more people become particular in their privacy rather than being bold to everyone around them. This mindset keeps them secure and gains no interest from others which makes them go outside and enjoy life without worrying for someone after them.

Telling others may help them think about doing the same but it was not necessary to mention amounts. It is just giving them some curiosity that brings them interest and they will do their own research.
235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Going against the grain. on: February 14, 2024, 09:17:03 PM
It depends on your target price but some investors especially newcomers, will take this chance to sell. But I don't see it wrong, as long as you have made some profit already, it was not a losing decision even after selling the price of Bitcoin will pump more because I was certain that correction would come and that's the time we reinvest. Of course, for old-timers their faith and trust are different from newcomers as they will still hold and wait for the next ATH.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: February 14, 2024, 01:03:25 PM
~snip~
Absolutely, there isn't any need to gamble high any more as you are winning, it's a wise opportunity that the OP would take as the little money he's staking is returning in 2 times fold.
These are what greediness will cause as a gambler who is planning to win big money. So this says it is not easy to just keep on staking with low money and also winning small money. But it's a good idea to continue staking low and winning low as you are not on the losing position, seriously greediness will not allow a gambler to always staking low ajd winning low because he or she would like to win big money.

Yeah, that's what most people want.

They want to basically have all their winnings when they bet a lot, and only lose when they bet a little.

The thing is that it is impossible to know when you're going to win.

You can know that on average you are going to lose gambling though, but not many people want to know that.

Since it's based on luck, you'll never know when you'll be lucky. However, if you think like a pro, you should have a game plan before you do the actual gambling. That game plan should be hollistic, and that includes knowing when to stop when you lose money and when you make money. A healhy gambling activity doesn't need you to put most of your time in gambling, you should only put a little time, free your mind and analyze the game well. I can relate this in sports betting, I could just use maybe less than an hour to analyze and to put my bet, and I'm fine even not watching the game as there's always a highlights I can see but most importantly the statistics would give the real picture on what is happening on a certain game.
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 14, 2024, 12:11:05 PM

None of the 12 voted for Kambosos to win the game. We can't blame them since Kambosos career was destroyed by Haney. I like him being desperate though as he just want to take the opportunity to go back on top again, he is not afraid to take a challenge despite majority if not all of us here believe he has no chance of beating Loma who is very technical as a fighter.  I'm surprise that 66% believe it will be Loma winning by KO instead of decision, maybe they believ that the style of Kambosos would put him into a big trouble of getting KO.

The only chance he has is to train some new skills to surprise Loma but that'll be hard for him since a veteran fighter like Loma can quickly switch to counter whatever he prepared against him. Unless Kambosos is fast and powerful enough to shake Loma in every jab but that's not the case and we all know that he will be the one to take more powerful punches until he finally gives up because he can take those punches anymore. More likely the result will be like how Beterbiev defeated Callum Smith or it might gonna end earlier because the gap between these two boxers is way too far.
And that's what you love George Kambosos, he learn to capitalized even if he lost twice to Haney. And most likely it has luck has something to do with it. He is with Top Rank and so is Loma. And now that the belt is vacant, they are given a chance by the body to fight for it. So even if his career is destroyed, he can bounce back with just another win here. But it's not going to be easy, Loma is also on a way to recover from that controversial defeat and he has been dreaming again to become a champion since their first fight was cancelled because of the war in his native country. But Kambosos is a huge underdog but he might be looking at another performance that he pulled against Teo Lopez. So he is looking for a big upset here.
It's never been easy for Kambosos as he is an underrated fighter. Even with his fight agianst Lopez where he won, the was the underdog that time, and he proved that despite being an underdog, he can still be aggressive like a champion. Therefore although everything is on Loma's advantage, we can't underestimate a fighter that is hungry to bounce back. Well, literally, both boxers are coming from a loss against Haney, therefore we can expect that it's gonna be a war between the two.
238  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading? on: February 13, 2024, 09:45:45 PM
I wonder why some traders are still experiencing losses in their crypto trading upon all the impart professional traders are imparting  traders in some trading section to ensure traders know when to trade to win and when not to trade to avoid losses.
Because that is actually the truth. Don't ever expect that if you follow these trading experts you can be fully like them. No, that will depend on the situation and you can't make the same thinking and decision when facing the real scenario because you can't expect them to teach about what you gonna do as you are the ones who can decide it. You can apply all the tips they have but not all situations are suitable as sometimes we need to decide on our own, and that is the most common problem and a cause of losses.

No, some trades will succeed but some also will fail...
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Upcoming altcoins on: February 13, 2024, 09:03:15 PM
Are there any new or upcoming altcoins that have caught your attention recently?
there are many altcoins that is into existence the thing is that the text time to know what coin that is good that I have a potential that is in good conduct so before you invest in any altcoin you have to make a property search to ensure that there is a life into the project that you want to invest on because so many of the altcoins they are only valued during the time the launch them and the after the launching the coin began to vanish in the market so that is why it is encouraging to ensure that you have make appropriate research concerning any altcoin that you want to invest on before investment
That happens almost every day and the biggest concern is the legitimacy of these new projects knowing that most of them are worthless and scams. And it avoids investing in scam projects, the usual practice of investors is to reject and ignore them as they prefer choosing old coins. That is why we can't see new projects stay long in the market because their intention upon creating this is not for the long-term but to scam innocent people and go. Which is I couldn't blame people who think that new projects can't be trusted and that even doing thorough research is not enough to prove that they are reliable.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Casimero (possible fight in 2024) Let's discuss! on: February 13, 2024, 02:15:20 PM
I think Inoue is still interested because Casimero has that one belt that he needs, perhaps it was due to the pandemic, but I think Casimero fought Duke Micah that time and defend his belt and Casimero is supposedly go to England and fight Butler. But there were a lot of complications in the part of Casimero already, and maybe the issue with his trainer or with MP or the weight itself.

That was a costly mistake Casimero did. If he didn't let that belt stripped, he could have fight Inoue for a unification bout, but things happen, he loss his belt and Inoue loss his interest on fighting Casimero too. It's like we were rob because we know that only Casimero could potentially give Inoue a good challenge, but Casimero loss on technicalities on the ranking requirement that is not eligible to fight the champ, just a bad fate for him.

Anyhow, I agree that if everything depends on Casimero right now. If he wanted to get the attention of Inoue, he will have to be the mandatory at least in one of the division. Perhaps being a ex-champion of WBO, this is the organization that Casimero will have a good chance to be work it out and go up in ranks and then become the #1 fighter in that division and become the mandatory.
That might happen if he wins his next fight, but it seems like there was no schedule for him yet. Waiting for too long is not good for Inoue as he still have a lot to achieve, and most likely he'll just move up instead.
