221  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: How to exchange BTC to USD without using US account? Is there some ATM of BTC? on: May 16, 2018, 10:23:21 PM
In addition to the suggestions that has been made, I think there are some other options you can consider. If you won't use LocalBitcoin, there is another peer to peer site like Paxful which is also a good platform. Another is there are some exchange sites that allows USD transfer just ensure that your country is not one of those allowed then you can withdraw to a domiciliary account with that, you can withdraw USD.

How you find a good bounty campaign?

Thanks in advance.

If everyone knows the answers to this question, there won't be threads about how they are being cheated in bounty campaigns or how it turned out to be scam etc because everyone would have just focused on those legit campaigns and ignore the others. The simple truth is that, you can only avoid by implementing several methods suggested but you cannot eradicate because even the most perfect one with escrow still ended up messing up. However, there are some that are outrightly legit all you need is to be active and open your eyes to see them while for others, you have to rely on other people who you trust their judgement.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which one is the best cryptocurrency next to bitcoin? on: May 16, 2018, 05:24:11 PM
Threads like this are where you see shades being thrown at one another which is mostly due to blinded loyalty, the current price or the future price and not necessarily the potential that the coin or the technology behind it tends to provide. For me after bitcoin, the next best is Etherum whose potential for the future still remains solid. Its on it's platform several projects have been financed and flourished and its increase in price has a basis for it to rely upon.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffett: Bitcoin is "rat poison in the box" What do you think? on: May 16, 2018, 04:47:40 PM
What I think is that, its is his comment and he is entitled to it. If he likes he should call it something worse, it does not change the anything other than the fact that price has dropped now, and it will rise again with or without his comments. What we are seeing is as a result of mere coincidence. Comments like this are only attacking a myopic part which is the currency, and so far the entire blockchain is still valid, it remain a tide that would still settle.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: bitxoxo legit? on: May 16, 2018, 06:59:39 AM
I see they have more than 55k members in their telegram group and there they are very active. does bitxoxo have a good future? considering they already have exchanges that have been active at https://bitxoxo.exchange
maybe some of your experiences about them can be shared here

Since there is no Ann thread that one can visit to ask some salient questions about what the future holds for the project, I guess the onus is on you to determine if its legit enough to merit your fund for investment purpose. What I think you should do is to try and join the telegram which you have done but start being inquisitive their response to such questions would determine whether they meant business or just another one designed to fail from the beginning.
226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is FUD? YOU FELL FOR FUD!!! on: May 15, 2018, 05:05:45 PM
Not to sound too exaggerated, almost everyone would have fallen for FUD at one point or the other because no one joined and in day one became accustomed with the way of things. I think I fell for it that was in 2016 when the news about China was always so devastating. At the time, I had some small amount of BTC and the news broke. This just sent a message that I needed to be smart and exit. It turned out to be one of the worst decision I ever made. Worst is because I use blockchain.info, it showed transaction history in that anytime I want to see the $ equivalent of holdings, I see the amount I would have made if I had not sell.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance will REKT you if you are not careful! on: May 15, 2018, 04:47:26 PM
I have read things like this happening in exchanges and its not only binance its everyone of them and they hide under the fact that its not their fault, its for security reasons and the reason that you have accepted to their TOS that they are not liable makes them untouchable. Its really annoying to see your wait being wasted because of five minutes delay which is even not your own fault. I think its high time they are called out even though nothing can be done at this time.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TOA Coin] Signature Campaign on: May 15, 2018, 02:27:41 PM
Do you even know what you are asking? The last post was 8 posts per day for 3$ which means participants should make 56 posts per week for them to receive 21$ in a week? I have always been an advocate of any campaign should offer what it can afford but this, is way to bad and this would hurt the forum and that is why I am openly against it. Anybody who would accept to wear your signature under this condition is sure to either be a spammer or a spammer who has nothing to offer as a contribution to the forum.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why didn't Warren Buffett invest in Bitcoin? on: May 15, 2018, 06:00:31 AM
To the surprise of nobody, Warren Buffett isn’t interested in Bitcoin at all.
Warren’s strategy is to have an adequate but consistent return over a long period of time.
The key is that he knows he will be rich someday, but he is not in a hurry.
In cryptocurrency world, it is not possible to make a position and forget it for x number of years. Hence, it does not fit Warren’s style.
So what is your opinion?

Is this really about Warren or someone else because the bold part is sure not referring to him. Warren is already rich and he does not need even need to do any more investment in life for him live through life. The return of his percentage holding in cocacola is enough if he wants above a moderate life. There is no perfect reason as to why Warren chose to or not invest in bitcoin only him  can give the explanation to that. Its really difficult for someone who has known a particular working way for him all his life to then change overnight.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Temporarily Suspended Work with Bytecoin! on: May 14, 2018, 06:42:00 PM
Bytecoin didn't cope with such an increase of transactions in their blockchain. It's not a good indicator for a cryptocurrency, showing that they are not ready for such a challenge.

You don't know how prepared you are for a challenge until you faced it. All of those that seems they are ready for the challenge is because what they are facing was what they have prepared for. Challenge will come yes but what matter is how its being handled. Bytecoin is one that have overcome several challenges since the time it launched till this time which is what should be commended and I am sure the developers are working to ensure that this is put behind them.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fundstrat:"Bitcoin will cost $64'000". on: May 14, 2018, 06:08:29 PM
Everybody is just coming with several predictions as they seem it fit and they all claim they rely on certain statistics or data to have arrived to that coveted position. The simple truth is news like this just want to keep the hope high and consistent hoping for a better future because to me, I have not seen any basis to support such prediction but that does not mean its not possible but be willing to bear the outcome if you are sure of what you will believe in.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crash together? on: May 14, 2018, 04:31:48 PM
What’s your take? Do you think a stock market crash is realistic or not in the coming months or years and what will happen with crypto market than?

Everything is realistic whether now or in the future. The effect in the crypto market would be hard to determine because we have not witnessed such before. For me, I think there would be a boost in crypto only if there is enough independence between the crypto market and the crashed stock market as this would boost confidence in the market but if there is some element of one affecting the other, there is sure to be no increase in activities of crypto market.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cheap electricity in Africa on: May 14, 2018, 06:47:28 AM
I am in Nairobi and here we have cheap electricity that enables us to mine and get better rates. I pay about $ 0.1 per 1 kwh which is very cheap as compared to many countries.
I guess making bitcoins in Africa could be a very profitable project for heavy hardware investors. What are the rates in your country ?

Cost of electricy is not only the deciding factor why someone would want to go into mining, considering that alone only to realize its more than that would end up abandoning such investment. Like someone have rightly stated, the atmospheric condition of Africa is not compatible with bitcoin mining and to meet up with such condition of having those giant cooling system would end up increasing the cost of mining beyond what you might imagine considering the amount of investment needed to break even.
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone read this Bitcoin book? on: May 14, 2018, 04:25:35 AM
This is really good to see that books are being written on bitcoin. I had always believed that for indepth analysis to have been done in the area of research to the extent of writing a book and by knowledgeable people would still take a few years but its seems development in this field is going faster than what anyome could imagine and based on reviews and comments from this thread, I think its just right to lay my hands on one of this books.

237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Prayer to ALL bounty managers on: May 09, 2018, 08:41:36 PM
I did many twitter campaigns and for many bounty managers I have the same problems:

1) I have to spend a lot of time to know when the campaign will finish -> why you just don't make a RED text in first message on TOP saying " BOUNTY FINISH AT...." ?
2) I have to spend a lot of time when the campaing has finished to know if I have to do something (Like making KYC or filling a final form etc...) -> why can't you ask this information when we joined the bounty?

So please take my advices..... as bounty managers ask us to follow the rules, please try to make our job more faster and easier as you can...

The bold part actually got my attention and because they know the turnout would be lower if they had asked for the KYCs at the beginning and they know that it would be difficult for someone who has painstakingly do the promotion for 8 weeks then have to wait for another 4 weeks after the ICO or preICO before receiving his payment would have no other option than to fill the KYC or else he losses his pay. Another part that really annoys me is telling people to always quote the last weeks report to submit the current week what's wrong wrong wit editing the application and post your work done. You then see bounty threads getting to over hindered on what that shouldn't go beyond 30.
238  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Double Citizenship. What to do when joining ICO Illegible is 1 of the countries on: May 09, 2018, 07:43:59 PM
This should really not be too hard to figure out even if you are a world citizen, you are bound by the rule of the society you live in the only difference is your allegiance is not in any government or country other than that, you operate in their economy, they provide for your healtcasre, your security, might even provide you with a job why won't you abide by their rules so if the country you are residing is against the rule, you are sure not getting any exemption because its not going to happen.
239  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Would you recommend never store cryptos on an exchange website? on: May 09, 2018, 06:37:31 PM
This is too much precaution or its really better never store cryptos in exchange? All exchanges are risky ?

I believe this is one topic that can never be overstretched because of the continued importance everyday. Even today, I have read about someone who has been trying to make a withdrawal from an exchange site since December 2017 and till now, its still while support is no where to near responding talk less of resolving the issue and the exchange site has been known to be effective. Whether the claim is right or the customer made the mistake, the fact is he could not assess the fund at the time he wanted it which is enough reason for anyone not to store cryptos on exchange sites.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How well does Bitcoin function as a currency? on: May 09, 2018, 05:23:55 PM
I can say as at today, the rate at which bitcoin function as a currency is sill very much low compared to functioning as an investment. The currency part is too minute to be reckoned with as that is hurting the market from growing. Retailers wont make sales because of that. Several online shops have opened to sell clothes, groceries, hoods, items accepting bitcoin as a means of payment but they end up closing because I wont buy something of say .01btc and by next week realized I could have paid 0.008btc for that same commodity.
