1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoins, LTC Stuck on: May 10, 2017, 08:04:26 PM
Hello,

I tried to send my ltc (core) to another wallet (jaxx). I accidenlty did not send a transactionfee, because you manually have to add them. I have put many time in searching out what the possibilities are to get back my ltc. The following two options are possible if you ask me:

1. Ask a miner
2. A Child pays for parent transaction

But, where can I find/contact a ltc miner. And who can explain the child pays for parent transaction?

Thanks in advance!

Tom
In this era of where people who even send with high transaction fees have to wait for several hours before confirmation, you made he mistake of not attaching a transaction fees to your own transaction, I hope it won't take forever if any but since its ltc, I believe the amount of time should be limited but is it not possible that the fund be returned to you account or a form of notification that should prompt your attention that you have not attached fees? I think that's a deficiency that blockchain.info will not do.
1202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next $10 Billion Blockchain? on: May 10, 2017, 07:13:52 PM
I voted Etherum because whether we like it or not, its getting the right attention and developers have woken up from their slumber. The massive development and deployment of infrastructure is happening. What is needed is just to keep the flag moving forward and the promise land is not too far way. ETH is taking its rightful place.
1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in ETH or ETC? on: May 10, 2017, 05:52:04 PM
Hello,

i thinking about to invest some "bigger" amount of money into one of these 2 currencies. But i really dont know in which one. ETH should be more stable and safer?

If u had for example 1000$ and you would invest, which currency of this both would you take and why?

ETH will be the best bet as at the current happenings as at this day, For ETC its still growing but ETH has the right attention and I have seen several project and coins developed relying on ETH and equally expanding its horizon and most importantly, there is still more room for growth.
1204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Account closed by Bithumb and $400 DASH lost. on: May 10, 2017, 12:21:46 PM
Sometimes I begin to wonder how someone will put enough effort in designing a website with the sole purpose of scamming anyone who patronise such site. This is a clear case of scam and you should do well in creating a thread there with supporting documents because words alone cannot move things. And if possible find their thread if any on the forum and post there too.
1205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin really worth it? on: May 10, 2017, 11:39:33 AM
Most people will be pitching the tokens they have stake in to you. the bearishish market seems on the way, so don't buy into any project that has less than 500BTC daily trading volume, most people will only tell you when they are making money but not when losing money

but you can't only buy the huge established coin, because you will lose possible profit in other small market of some unknown coins that will grow and have the same huge volume of the other coin, one day, some of these coins that have 500 BTC volume were in the beginning very small liek the other coins thta now you are snobbing

Your argument is very correct as most of these established coins, the probability of making profit is very low and if there will be any profit, it will be marginal because most have fully grwon and the number of new entrants are not enough to force the big profit compared to the potential coins which have the opportunity to grow but one needs to be careful and be resilient because during the trying times of such coins, one might be forced to sell out thereby losing reasonable amount of investment.
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XECOIN on CySEC warning list: Investors be aware!! on: May 09, 2017, 08:56:25 PM
Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has informed the investing public about the Cryptocurrency XECOIN regulation and issues investor warning about transacting in cryptocurrency XECOIN.

Please check this site for more information http://atozforex.com/news/cryptocurrency-xecoin-regulation-cysec-warning/

To the best of my understanding, when does the opinion of government matters in crypto coins but the problem I will have is if the promoters of the coin are misrepresenting information in other to get sympathy from the investing public but aisde that, no government aside Japan has come out fully to support crypto and Cyrus government media outburst wont be the new one to happen.
1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Exchanges are the real 'cancer' to Crypto and not Miners on: May 09, 2017, 08:16:53 PM
Was arguing with a friend today, and his argument is that the developers of any crypto can alternate its code from PoW to PoS and with time there may be more innovative ways to keep the network secure. However, on the other hand you cannot dictate what an exchange does or do. They can inwardly manipulate the price by making a statement that they were under attack and coins are stolen by hackers. What then do investors do? by the way by trading in any exchange you are directly agreeing to their terms and conditions. The solution in my opinion would be for traders to trade via decentralized exchange such as etherdelta or any other out there. but even that has its own shortcoming as etherdelta in my opinion is a bit complicated and does not really list all altcoins. What do you think guys.

Your argument is true but not totally because what you suggested exchanges do is something that happens once in a blue moon and those that do, there is no way to be sure that they are lying about the attack as one exchange even paid back what the investors lost during the attack. Although, not high flag for exchange sites, but their contribution can also not be wished away as the outcome of any crypto cannot be complete without being listed on an exchange site. In as much that they have their excesses, I still believe that their advantages still out weight the disadvantages.
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple being Manipulated? on: May 09, 2017, 05:41:33 AM
The price of Ripple seem to be skyrocking...but my instinct have never TRUST ripple, because of its centralization and the chances of it being manipulated...what do you think guys?

It might sound harsh, but your opinion does not matter in the scheme of things. You never believed in the project so why bother yourself? When the price was going low, you tell yourself 'its a shit coin, I know about this that's why I am not intereted' when the price is now increasing, you Ade clamouring manipulation, iin which you never believed in.
1209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Dogecoin 2017? on: May 09, 2017, 05:21:48 AM
My thoughts on doge coin  is a actually that I see it breaking barriers because itsl has proven to be a coin to be reckoned with over the period of time it has been in existence however, the breaking barriers will not happen by default rather with necessary support because alts are coming out day by day competing for the little space available and even those who came far after doge are gathering momentum. The support is essential.
1210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TOR] Torcoin - X11 PoW - Tor Integrated Crypto - Torcoin.org on: May 09, 2017, 04:55:29 AM
TorCoin is way up .. it is already valued at almost $3 now on C-Cex : https://c-cex.com/?p=tor-btc

It seems your way up is now a relative statement based on the comment below
I've been lurking on bitcointalk for quite a while and I've followed this TOR thread well and I feel like I know everyone here.
There's no comment I needed to make that someone else didn't make; from dissing of fake critics to reproaching TheTORCoin.

I invested in TOR during one of its spikes, hoping for more growth to help me get some cash to grow my community (@BitcoinGhana-twitter.        @GhanaBitcoin -facebook) with facebook ads and spread the knowledge of cryptocurrency in my developing country.

The price has dropped badly alright. But for some reason I'm holding on to my few coins and I've placed an order to sell half (25 TOR at 0.008BTC ) on c-cex.
I hope the fans of TOR will work harder to promote TOR.
@TheTORCoin,  please get active on twitter. I have some important accounts following me there. I will retweet every one of your tweets till TOR soars again.

What I think is all form of speculation should even be avoided now and focus should be on making sure the coin reaches the right population as that's will make the decision made by early joiners and those who are just coming in their investment a worthwhile one which is what everyone is looking forward to.
1211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Squall Coin NO IPO, Made for you! STILL ALIVE on: May 08, 2017, 06:08:39 PM
Grin great to see SQL on yobit. I finally figured out my password and I'm staking again lol after 1.5+ years. Cheers to you guys for keeping the chain moving

Just over 333k coin supply  Cool

and thank you for coming back!

I hope my promise to all ways be involved in this coin is reinforced  Grin

to everyone - I am still trying to set up more backend, many hosts do not allow dice/blockchain scrypts as it "utilizes too much bandwidth" I am still looking and working behind the scenes.

big thanks to olubams for posting and keeping everyone aware I am still about, BIG NEWS - batch 2 squall coins have now gone to press! it will still be a few months sill release as I have lots of codes to generate! still looking at end of this year before first auctions are live.

No problem, I said I'd be back if I ever figured out that password  Cool You've definitely proven to be a man of your word, very resilient  indeed.

Every few months I was syncing up the wallet to try passwords out on it, every time I started the wallet it found connections and started syncing right away. lol I was a little bummed when I remembered the 30 day max stake age... but in the long run that is a great thing and will make it take much longer for us to reach the max coin supply.

I made a post in the CCC group on Facebook to remind people SQL is still alive and well. It's a great group with a bunch of good people from all over the world, it took us 4+ years to get to our first 10k members now just months later we're nearly at 15k. (a good sign at how fast BTC and cryptocurrencies are growing) I'd love to see you on there it could really help SQL grow it's community in time.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/cryptocurrencycollectorsclub/

Cheers to everyone, I'll be staking and trading SQL for years to come

Thank you so much for stopping by and keeping to your word as a relief around here is needed. We are also not resting on our oars to make sure we give SQL the support it needed within our capacity according to the dream and goal of Squall1066. We are equally working on getting listed on other reputable exchange sites and we believe this will increase the penetration of squall coin. Thank you everyone and lets keep it alive.

Things like this does not move us over here because we have seen enough and more are still coming but we will continue to invalidate them. What you're are promoting is an HYIP which does not stand the test of time and will crash very soon couple with your rank, I doubt if anyone will take this serious. So, take your referral program elsewhere.
1214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: something we can all be happy about on: May 06, 2017, 01:22:31 PM
What you have there, no matter how bright the chart is and blooming, everybody cannot be happy. Its really good at this time that we are all rejoicing but let's also not be unmindful of the difficult days so we don't come around complaining. Let's enjoy while it last.
1215  Economy / Speculation / Re: I can see that the bitcoin specualtion sub has matured! on: May 06, 2017, 10:11:27 AM
I have seen this sub in those days, whenever the price of bitcoin rises, some people make very extraordinary speculation that bitcoin is going all the way to 100,000 and 1 million.

But now even when bitcoin is at its all time high , people are making very conservative estimates that is less than 5000$ mostly..

Yup! thats a sign of maturity....
I personally would not really rely on what people say because the same set of people that are singing the praises of bitcoin today, will come and say they predicted the fall if any challenge should happen any time from now. Its is true that everyone is happy with recent happenings including myself but I won't want to keep my hopes so high rather will take every day as it happens and hopefully everyone will have the last laugh.
1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spam attack solution? on: May 06, 2017, 09:16:50 AM
I am not sure if that's really a spam attack. Surely there is some spam, but the fees that were paid for the largest number of transactions are pretty high for that (100-120 satoshis/bytes), and as expected, now that the weekend has begun, the mempools are a bit emptier again.

I predicted that situation some time ago if there was a new Bitcoin price rally, because in every rally in the past the transaction volume spiked (probably as more people move their coins from and to exchanges). The more calm situation in the last weeks, in my opinion, was mainly because of the high fees that disincentived some use cases that were popular before (I don't know if "satoshi-dice type gambling" still exist, for example) and people are incentived to bundle their transactions now.

And no, if there are really spam attacks, I see no (realistic) solution. I had thought in paying transaction fees in advance, for example, but that would have too many negative side-effects (e.g. if you paid accidentally a low fee, your fee would be gone).

This is same thing I also witnessed when I tried to make some transactions and I was equally looking for explanation as to why the transaction was delayed beyond reasonable time in which I was even guessing why would all this be happening at this time. But if its actually a spam then its a serious one that the makers and shapers in the industry should really do something about because paying high fees and waiting for several long hours for confirmation is definitely a red flag to me.
1217  Economy / Economics / Re: Increasing Bitcoin Market Capitalization, when does it affect real economy? on: May 06, 2017, 08:06:52 AM

The market value of Bitcoin is over 20 billion EUR. This is huge increase but it’s stil insignificant in relation tot he total money supply (M3 according tot ECB). Is there an opinion in the community about the influence of increasing market capitalization (lets’s say over a quadrillion) on currency markets, real economy etc. ?

Its true that its beginning to call for concern because of the volume as at now and even converting that to dollars will even give additional increase. However, the amount is still low compared to what will really make a difference and even come to think of it, this amount is not in the space, its still hovering within the economy which is one way or the other building it. And also, dont forget that the capitalization you have there belongs to the whole population involved from different parts of the world. I am sure if that figure is for just one country, then the right attention would have been gotten.
1218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transactions now take ages to confirm? on: May 05, 2017, 09:56:57 PM
I've been using Bitcoin before it was cool

I don't ever remember a transaction taking so long. It has been 3+ hours, my VPN subscription payment is long overdue. Is anybody else having this issue?

If you're going to moan about how I should pay more fees, then please don't waste your time by posting

I thought I was the only one facing this issue until now. Just few days back when I made a transaction, it took forever for it to confirm and stood 0 confirmation for several hours despite the fact that I even paid extremely high transaction fees. It got to a point that I was considering acceleration due to the reputation on the line as a result of the delay but the price I was told made the fees more expensive and my fear is if this should continue, I see abandonment of bitcoin gradually to a more cost friendly crypto.
1219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: May 05, 2017, 06:52:46 PM
From the way I see it, I think its going to happen sooner or later but its a gradual process. Where I stay, I have seen it being advertised on forums and one that involve large number of people at the same time, I have seen banners in front of shops at the same time I have seen small banners hanged around poles of a community promoting crypto-currency so in few years, I see that happening eventually.
1220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING:network under Massive spam attack. on: May 05, 2017, 06:15:50 PM
Fees today are over $2 to send a transaction. 100k transactions in mempool. Someone is spending a lot of cash to spam the network today.

Gee I wonder why? /s

I don't know much about mobile wallets or hardware wallets but they should alert the user when the network is this congested. With a easy to understand fee calculator/prediction pop up before you send your transaction.

I want to believe you what you are doing is not complaining about the fees because if its that, then I will have to ask about the specific wallet you are referring to that is charging that amount so I can switch. Just few days back, I spent over $8 to make a transaction but no one was spamming it as at that time if my memory serve me right so I want to know how $2 amounts to spamming.
