1021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Squall Coin NO IPO, Made for you! STILL ALIVE on: July 04, 2017, 06:27:00 AM
There is still much to be done and more opportunities to be high exploited and that's why we are not resting on our oars to give the required support for squall coin even as we await another new set of physical squall coin. Your support is and will continue to be appreciated and don't forget to get a bit of squall on yobit at the moment.
1022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Daily updates on Ongoing ICOs on: July 04, 2017, 06:16:31 AM
Before you start, I think you need to establish some rules and maybe if possible make the thread self moderated because as per the rules, you don't just list any ICOs without not wanting people reading the thread to rely on it which makes you an accomplice in a case if an ICO turn into scam. Aside that,  you also need to establish the requirements for an ICO to make it to the thread or else, I can just design a nice ANN thread myself alone and I will paste here for everyone to see among other reasons though.

1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum is poised to take the #1 (one) place on: June 29, 2017, 09:23:33 PM
Ethereum will take the #1 (one) place of the cryptocurrency sector by August, 2017 in my opinion. Bitcoin could have a severe drop next month and a large percentage of that money will go to Ethereum. THE FLIPPENING IS HERE. Price could be $700 by then in my opinion

I will have have preferred to see more analysis to support this position than this but I don't see that happening not now not in the bear future because even the last crash that happen few days ago to the price of bitcoin, its effect by default affected ETH With various threads coming up predicting the death of ETH among others. Others were saying the bubble has bursted but because of  a few days in price recovery is not a determination of taking over because no one knows what will happen to price even before tomorrow morning.
1025  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Advice... on: June 29, 2017, 08:29:33 AM
I'm pretty new to trading, currently trying to digest as much information as possible - just have a few questions that I would like to get opinions on...

I'm looking to invest 2BTC into the market. Since my initial is pretty low, I plan on investing the majority of my money into alts. I want to play 60/40 with each coin I invest in, keeping 60% into long-term holds and using 40% for short... hopefully, to get my initial back to invest into bigger coins.

My question is how many coins would be a healthy amount to invest in with just 2BTC? I don't want to spread my money into too many coins since I'll be holding 60% in each coin long term and only playing 40% in short, but then again I don't want to keep my portfolio too small putting myself in a 1 basket situation.

I'm currently looking at:

Siacoin < made 15% during the dip yesterday - wish I had my deposit in from Coinbase so I could've invested a lot more in the market dips, o well :/
Verge
Ark
Ardor
Antshares/NEO
Steem

Other coins I'm looking at as well:

BAT
Golem
Nxt
IOTA

Would appreciate any advice or input,
Cheers

All i need to say is that any coin you wish to put money into, do it intelligently and not be fooled by the "huge potentials" you have read somewhere or about one upcoming pump or the likes. Be sure the 2btc you are putting there is something you can afford to lose should in case that money does not come back considering the fact that there is no certainty in alt trading and also human factor is also something to consider.
1026  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Be Careful With Pumping Groups on: June 29, 2017, 07:12:52 AM
Pump groups here and there but only few are just really serious on the service they are offering at the expense of those who just buy based on statistics not knowing those statistics are artificial that cannot last for long and a responsibility on any trader to buy intelligently. Also again one needs to be careful with the one he joins because you never can tell if its the developer who is ready to push dump his own coin that is behind the group.
1027  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you Panic? on: June 28, 2017, 09:33:36 PM
Whether its bitcoin trading or altcoin trading, there is bound to come a time when your investment is getting dumped badly, and its panic time.
How do you panic? Does that really make you panic and do you take decisions that you actually regretted later? Or do you keep calm and HODL?
What makes you panic and how do you react to it?

Even the best of traders panic at some point. The only thing that does not panic is bots because its not his money but someone else. For me, I had fallen in the past for situations like that which I ended up regretting the fact that I should have waited a little bit so what I do now is just to ignore checking the board altogether and focus on something else and even avoid threads that talks about current price but after a while I check if I am doing fine, if not, the cycle begins again.
1028  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: June 28, 2017, 09:12:04 PM
There is a possibility that bitcoin eradicates poverty but not from the entire world but on an individual basis because there is no way everyone will be involved in bitcoin the same way I didn't do forex despite the various news here and there about people making millions from such endeavour so it wont still go round. For someone who is probably jobless and have some skill can get to trade it with another person that he probably wont see in his entire life. Either way for earning something from such activity means ending poverty on his own part and that's courtesy bitcoin.
1029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Russia] Burger King to accept Bitcoin this summer! on: June 28, 2017, 08:26:37 PM
Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/burger-king-to-accept-bitcoin-in-russia-this-summer

So yeah, hopefully McDonald, Dominos pizza, and many others will follow after this. I thought that this kind of decisions are taken by the creators of the franchise but It looks like It's not since It's starting on Russia.

Its good news if you ask me but the issue here is how is it going to work out considering the fact that its been reported about Russia's intention to create its own bitcoin which I see as a potential hostile environment for bitcoin which might include but not limited to merchants who accepts the currency. But lets hope the Russian government allows for fair play of both currency then we will see which one is more stronger and more popular.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tipping homeless people with Bitcoin paper wallets on: June 28, 2017, 08:09:10 PM
If anyone would even tip an homeless man with paper wallet, then be sure to provide him with the necessary details on how to redeem it because without that, its just another worthless paper and also its not going to be about tipping but enough amount to change his situation because giving him a $10 tip might not do anything considering the stress of redemption and the miners fees to be paid in other to get it converted into cash might outweigh the benefit of just giving him the $10 note.
1031  Economy / Services / Re: Great Passive Income in a very convenient way!! (HIGH SUCCESS RATE) on: June 28, 2017, 11:01:42 AM
New member trying to tell us about how much money we can earn in some investment? I don't think you will find anyone here that won't see it as what it is, a ponzi scam.

You are not sure he is a new member. He might actually be an old member of the forum that is now hiding under a newbie account to promote a Ponzi scheme which is meant for those who are in a quest to get rich quick without any work to be done knowing fully well that such things don't even exist in real life but a means to make people lose the little they have been able to earn through their various endeavours.
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Live]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | Multi Wallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: June 27, 2017, 09:41:26 PM
hello, can someone help me, i have sent bitcoin from electrum but i used my public keys not knowing i had to use my private keys as this is the first ico that has needed my private keys, so will i still get my investment? shall i add my private keys now or will that effect it? thanks in advance

You needed to send your bitcoins from your address to the address at the bottom of the OP. If you know your private key that's all you need. You don't ever need to tell someone else your private keys in any instance.

It looks like the ICO is over! I'll do a tally of the results in terms of BTC and USD.

BTC2,894.30425629

$7,140,798.51808

Someone may want to double check my math though.
This is really marvelous and its something to be proud of. Your maths is as good from my position as the only thing that will prove otherwise is the issue of volatile nature of the price of bitcoin which might affect the calculation you put up there but at the same time I am happy to be part of making this a reality.
1033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Holding On To Your Bitcoin? on: June 27, 2017, 07:43:53 PM
At this point, I am trying to hold despite the temptation to sell with the level of erratic price we have witnessed in this pass few days but I have learnt my lessons in the last that when situations like this is being faced, then there is something big coming. In my early months of entering into bitcoin, I get to panic in situations like this that it becloud my judgement thereby doing so poorly but now, I am preoeared for whatever that happens long term or short term.
1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the current price drop considered a normal phenomenon? on: June 27, 2017, 04:00:56 PM
In all stocks and investments, you have "bull markets" and "bear markets".  A bull market is when the price has generally been rising for a while (with slight peaks and troughs within that, of course).  A bear market is the opposite.

Currently, cryptocurrencies are believed to be in a bull market, and have been since late 2015.  Typically, bull markets last longer than bear markets and bear markets are a much sharper dip.

The important thing is that if a bear market begins, you don't panic no matter what happens.  That's when smart money starts to accumulate from all those people that are terrified of losing their investment.

Consider this normal and hope for the best.

I will have to agree with your position because even though I have been involved for a while, at this point I am a little bit curious as to why things are turning out this way without any justification to the effects considering the news of Google partnering with blockchain.info and the news coming from India about the propose legalization which is something that should even increase the price further but witnessing the opposite is just a matter of concern.
1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India's small merchants accepts bitcoin on: June 27, 2017, 02:31:13 PM
****8****

https://qz.com/1009386/bitcoin-accepted-here-the-tiny-family-restaurant-in-india-thats-embraced-virtual-currency/

The government of India is nearing to accept bitcoin in their country as a mode of payment. With that upcoming adoption small merchants are now thinking to accepts bitcoin as a form of payment in exchange for their goods.

But even without the governments declaration  the Suryawanshi restaurants in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar and Whitefield neighbourhoods  accepts bitcoin as payment. The reason why this small store accepts bitcoin is due to the owner who is a bitcoin enthusiasts and was accepting bitcoins since 2013.

With the governments move, soon many small merchants will be following Suryawanshi's example.

This is something expected to happen in successive and even massively since government is coming out with a position to the favor of bitcoin. Accepting it before government position is not illegal from the way I see it since it has not been declared illegal only that government does not have a position that she is going with and that's where the small merchant exploited but today and in the next few days, the risk has paved of.
1036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Governments Shutdown the Internet? on: June 27, 2017, 01:07:57 PM
Saying its not possible is not what I would subscribe to because when the benefit of shutting down the internet is more than the cost of leaving it on due to some extreme situations, then they will because they can and that means that everything will be on stand still with several businesses put on hold, flights aborted, shipping line stopped, train stations stopped working, banks in crises in short the world in turmoil but let's hope it didn't get to that because under extreme cases, survival is paramount and internet is secondary.
1037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Based on People's Faith on: June 27, 2017, 06:56:56 AM
I was researching and reading a certain Whitepaper from a good token project and this statement really struck my thinking:

"With no government or “anchor” backing up cryptocurrencies, the only foundation that cryptocurrencies have is people’s faith in their value. In other words, solely the market mechanism determines the price of cryptocurrencies. At my time of writing, that faith is worth is over $2000 per Bitcoin and this doesn’t spur from the Bitcoin’s intrinsic value, but from what it allow users to do."

In this case, what will happen when that same trust from Bitcoin holders can be diminished or for heaven's sake be gone...would that be the end of Bitcoin?

This also  lead me to the question: is Bitcoin really a store of value or more of a medium where our trust is plastered on?

Obviously that's what will happen in my opinion because the reason why bitcoin is still holding forth is the faith people have in it and that faith keeps increasing day by day through various people and organizations coming to share in that faith. The same faith is what those people predicting the end of bitcoin are equally banking on that since bitcoin is not backed by gold or reserves or government, the faith will not hold for long then everything will come crashing. Let's keep the faith alive and continue spreading such as well.
1038  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC sudden price fall? on: June 26, 2017, 09:37:09 PM
Hello!

Over the past days BTC has fallen quite a bit, also ETH. Any clue why? Seems to be opportunity to buy more.

Over the past hour, it has been something so erratic and even alarming based on the the percentage fall but every situation presents its own opportunity but buying needs to also be strategic not to buy now and price dips further it will then mean one makes more loss even without tasting any form of profit and could even be discouraging but hopefully the market will recover soon to its initial position.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins is going down for real. on: June 26, 2017, 08:16:30 PM
Why is it in the past 24 hrs almost all of the altcoins is going down atleast 10 percent in value even though bitcoin's price is steady at $2.5k. Is it contrary or something is really happening. Any thoughts?

The price of bitcoin has even gone lower that the price you have there and I expect that the price of alt coin might even have to go down further depending on how the demand for such coin is able to hold against bitcoin price coming down. The real reason in actual sense, no one knows we all guess and hope the market will correct itself in due time so as to shame the predicters of the end of bitcoin.
1040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone Made 100X Profit from Altcoin Investment on: June 26, 2017, 07:47:24 PM
Don't Brag and Bitches... Cheesy

Personally myself, Never made more than 10% 10X on any altcoin investment, Did you made 100X anytime?

If you have not made more than 10% then its either you are selling at the wrong time or you buying without the right information. When it comes to alt trading if anyone is really serious about making money, you either join them because you cannot beat the shakers and movers of the market as they are the one that direct the movement of the market which is not something that is basically on the forces of demand and supply.
