641  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BITCOIN IN AFRICA on: October 24, 2017, 07:40:41 AM
Which African countries allow Bitcoin transactions? Is Bitcoin currently used to purchase items in any African country?

Just a Google search would have solved this. Virtually all African countries supports bitcoin not officially though but because the government of most of the African countries does not have the required facilities to either monitor crypto currency and thereby will have to study the more before taking the right steps. In the future when the amount of population involved is enough to command attention, then we might see some regulations coming so if you are in Africa, this is the time to convert to fiat and vice versa without much stress.
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is BTG price at 425$ worth the wait? on: October 24, 2017, 05:11:50 AM
SO we all tried HODLing the BTC with the expectation of recieving BTG.  Now we see that the BTC price has gone a bit low in the last two days  (from the highest it had reached) ,however the price of BTG has made up for this loss.SO I wanna ask most of you, if you feel satisfied with what ever happened?

This is too ridiculous because I was even thinking it should be the range of $800-$1000 but down to $425 is really low but I think its a strategy to ensue people don't dump as much as possible because as the price is this low, quite a number of people will have the intention to hold the more for the price to rise before dumping unlike if it comes at the $1000 range
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any way to destroy the bitcoin? on: October 23, 2017, 08:14:02 PM
Is there any way to destroy the bitcoin?  Not to hack or fake it but completely destroy the system.

Yes. It should be pretty easy for someone like you. All you only need to do is just to locate the switch that on the blockchain network then switch it off and you get your wish without any hacking of faking anything. Just a switch. But that's on a lighter mode removing those things you said, if it had been that easy, you wouldn't even meet anything called bitcoin because that switch would have even been destroyed years back.

645  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Burning of Money on: October 23, 2017, 03:56:33 PM
It is the first time I am hearing the term "burning of money" in economics which I suspect that CNBC just created the term in order to have a news article or something. It is something common now in which they will put up a so-called economist for an interview about what their views on something in an economical standpoint. Of course these kinds of news affects the price of Bitcoin negatively as it makes people sell or makes gives the players a catalysts to take profit.

It would be better if OP could put the link of the news for everyone to understand the context in which the term is being used rather than speculation which quite a number of people are doing here. Quite a number of people might be taking it literally which is obviously not the case here. I have also not heard about the term before in economic sense but would appreciate to add to my knowledge base via the link if provided.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Does The Bitcoin Price Move So Much? on: October 23, 2017, 12:48:38 PM
This particular question have been asked over and over again on the forum with several people trying to give reasons for the high disparity in price based on their own level of understanding. The simple truth is that, its based on the forces of demand and supply and since there is no way to confirm the invisible human factor attached other than speculation, we just have to settle for that.
647  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-23] Russia Promises Regulation Will Not Kill ICOs on: October 23, 2017, 10:57:55 AM
Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov promised not to let initial coin offerings (ICOs) in Russia “die” because of regulations last week. Despite bills being prepared to regulate them, President Vladimir Putin has said that ICOs hold “tremendous potential” and should not be obstructed.

Defending ICOs

Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov spoke at a youth forum in Sochi last week. One of the forum participants asked him, “I have a big request for you, please do not let our ICOs die as a result of regulation.” The deputy prime minister then “promised the participants to defend the capabilities of ICOs and prevent them from ‘dying’,” RIA Novosti reported.

“You are absolutely right,” Shuvalov continued, noting that various countries adopt laws to treat cryptocurrencies differently. “Our immediate response is to immediately put this under regulation, to ban, because it is harmful,” he said. Confirming that the government plans to regulate ICOs, he detailed:

Quote
We still do not know if it’s harmful or not, but we are already trying to ban and close it down. If our place is among advanced countries, and we want to succeed in this competitive race and even create better standards of life than our partners we are looking at on their social economic standards, one must be a little bolder.
The news outlet then quoted Shuvalov saying at the forum, “some of my colleagues from different departments and the government say that it smacks of MMM and something else.” In early September, the Bank of Russia warned about ICO risks.

I believe this is what a lot of people wanted in other to ensure we can all carry out our business in peace but the issue about state institutions is the amount of regulations and approvals that will need to be sought in other to get a clearance which might bury a lot of time in the bureaucratic machineries of government but if those can be eradicated or reduced to the barest minimum, then I am sure a lot of people would and willingly do things the right way.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any lite wallets that will give both coins in the upcoming fork? on: October 23, 2017, 09:04:41 AM
I store some Bitcoin in an Electrum lite wallet.

Is that wallet or any other lite wallets expected to give Bitcoin gold to users in the upcoming fork?

Coinomi is one wallet to bank on at this time as they have equally made a release for the support of BTG in addition to being listed on the official website of BTG. But the concern here is the timing of when its going to be activated on the app. While the BTC fork is expected to happen on the 25th which is few days from now, Coinomi is announcing that it wont happen until November 1st 2017 which is like over a week after the initial launch.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Japan Possibly ban ICO’s on: October 23, 2017, 08:04:21 AM
News coming out of Japan has it that authorities in that country are considering a ban on ICO’s. How would this Action impact on the prospect of Bitcoin and other cryptos globally.

Everything is very much possible in this crypto community. Without any issue that will be last resort if the regulation is impossible to do in real time. The issue of ICOs is that all they wanted is to be done right and because implementing it is out of their reach they consider banning it and because ICOs is being done outside the exchange sites, they have little or not control over it. The implication will definitely affect to a large extent especially on whose platforms ICOs is being raised now such as Waves and ETH.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: World of Battles SCAM on: October 23, 2017, 05:13:45 AM
Another ICO scam, this time, whole-heartedly endorsed by BTC Manager: https://btcmanager.com/how-investors-can-earn-money-in-2-bln-esports-market/

You get a 404 Error now, because BTC Manager realized, way too late, of course, that it was a scam. And, they just deleted the article as if it never existed.

Well, of course, I had already sent 0.2 ETH to the "ICO." When I clicked on the link supplied on their article, it wasn't flagged by my Chrome Extension. Only when I reloaded the URL did I get the flag. That is a clear indicator that you have to reload an URL to get a flag.

So, I sent the people at BTC Manager a direct message and included my ETH address so they can reimburse me. Will they take accountability for their glowing review of World of Battles, with the chief editor of the site having said this was the "first time he would ever consider investing in an ICO." I think I know the answer, but we will see.

That's it for me and ICO's. Forever. I invested in KICK and had my resulting 1 ETH worth of tokens stolen, now this. You obviously can't believe anything that anyone writes or says about an ICO.

Avoid them like the plague that they are. Yes, a few might be legitimate, but how do you know? You don't. That simple.

Ethereum has become a crypto riddled with scams, ponzi schemes, phishing and ripoffs. I believe it is a currency and platform that should be avoided at all costs.

Its unfortunate that things have gotten this bad and that is the reason why its not only right to just rely in an information based in getting form a reputable site thinking its scam free by that. The issue is that the fund won't be reimbursed a lot of those site would do some investigation but not deep and because they are given referral bonus, they get to put the link on their site. In the course of doing that, if you read very well, they would have attached a disclaimer to the subject of discussion to absolve them of any arising liability.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which exchanges are supporting bitcoin gold? on: October 22, 2017, 01:12:56 PM
There is no such information about which are the exchanges that will be supporting bitcoin gold, but it is confirmed that yobit is going to be one of them. The most likely is that during these days we will know about which wallets are going to give bitcoin gold without having to use exchanges to receive them or to exchange them. but I will not do anything since I will receive them anyway on my wallet.

Did you even confirm the message you are propagating that its only Yobit that have confirmed to be supporting BTG whereas as the date you posted this, with a mere check on the official website of the BTG, you would confirm that several exchange sites have confirmed their support and the list growing day by day and in addition to a big one they got which is Bittrex but that raise a lot of concern because of the issue of KYC.
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Companies to order visa to withdraw eth-btc on: October 22, 2017, 11:52:11 AM
Guys! Need visa card for withdraw etherium or bitcoin.
I saw some sites where I can order this cards. But now there are bad news about closing this cards to none Europian countries.

So what companies now can offer credit cards for any countries? (for withdrawing btc-eth)

I read an article though concerning this and its from VISA and MasterCard not from the service provider because they wouldn't want to willingly be out of business and that's why they are informing their clients too. They however gave 3 month notification but if you within the EU region, the service will still be provided to you if you are not, its time to start making provision for alternative ways of spending your btc.
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex Unverified User - Be Careful ! 0.025 BTC Withdrawal Limit without Warnin on: October 22, 2017, 10:38:17 AM
You should be able to verify your account pretty easily. I vaguely remember the approval for basic/phone verification taking a few min/hours few weeks back. Yesterday, I decided to upgrade my account to "Enhanced Verification" level (the highest level and you can withdraw >100 BTC) and it took me about 10 min. to get it approved. I just had to upload an ID document and a selfie, that's it! It is still much quicker than getting verified on other exchanges such as Kraken/Coinbase/CEX.

I'd advise you to get your account verified just in case you need to withdraw large amounts in the future.

Pretty easy would mean that you are in a country who have database that can be verified immediately by the management of bittrex so you get to quickly move beyond that point but for someone who is not in a country like that, I tell you, there is no way out of it and the best is to go for the enhanced verification which might still be difficult with respect to the information they are requesting. Anyone who has not used bittrex in a while.should first go there and see things before depositing straight.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex supporting Bitcoin Gold - will credit BTG on fork ! on: October 22, 2017, 09:05:34 AM
Bittrex is now supporting the fork and will credit equivalent amount of BTG to our wallets. Finally a good news for us.
Link to statement : https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002320451

I guess its time to move the BTC to Bittrex and wait for the fork to finish. Many people will hold their Bitcoins in Bittrex wallets as they are safer than other exchanges. They provided the BCH very quickly during Bitcoin Cash hard fork and similarly they will be giving Bitcoin Gold now.
So how many of you are moving your coins to Bittrex ?

When you move your btc to bitrexx because of the fraction you want to get out of the BCG, did you consider the part where you need to move your coins out. Maybe you have not read about their recent policy that no matter the amount involved, if you don't do your KYC, you are not withdrawing a satoshi of the amount you have there.

For me, I think I would gladly pass on their offer after all, they are not the only exchange site providing support for BCG their are several other listed on the BCG website which is a pool to pick from rather than be stuck with verification and KYC brouhaha of bittrex.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin 6050$ on: October 22, 2017, 08:24:51 AM
Bitcoin is growing altcoins to fall lower and lower. What is your opinion of what will happen until segwit?

Bitcoin will continue to rise even with SegWit activation but the fall in price of altcoin will not be permananet because a sizeable amount of pump is needed to be on the right track again in which the expectation is that both the BCG and SegWit fork activation will go along way in making that a possibility but after the whole scenario then some stability will be witnessed in that if there is need for further increase in price, it will then be a gradual one.
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH target 1000$ in ending of this year on: October 22, 2017, 07:55:07 AM
ETH 1000$? I doubt that in all sincerity. Going back memory lane, ETH was at the tens region not until the several token creation on its platform as a result of the several.ICOs coming out which give little stress of coding and the likes on the part of the developers this is mainly what led to the extra ordinary push ETH got to move to the region of hundreds but with the restriction on ICOs, some folding up after considering the legal ramifications around it, I really doubt if ETH  can push to that height.
657  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long Term BTC Investment Is No More on: October 21, 2017, 09:15:36 PM
With bitcoin value increasing to new heights every day or week, is long term investment of bitcoin in alts no more? Because with the increase of value in bitcoin, all alts suffer and their value in bitcoin decreases even if they are stable enough to keep their value in dollar sustained.

So all one can earn from such long term trade is a loss in bitcoin.

So, is short term trading alts the only option or even that is too risky for now and holding could be the only option.

And for buying alts, one should use dollar instead of bitcoin.

Your observation is very much correct and at the same time, alts developers needs to up their games. The reason is because the people dealing in the trade are human beings which is expected that they react to events as they see it but unfortunately most developers just go to bed after the initial ICOs rather than releasing updates, ensuring time lines are met but that's not what they do and when that happens, there is no value to be gotten from investing in such and that means that people begin to shift their interest where they can get value.
658  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to become a TRADER on: October 21, 2017, 08:27:16 AM
I want to learn to trade and become acquainted with the field of crypto currency trading. what should I do? I am currently reading trading technical analysis but I do not understand technical analysis and a pattern. I tried to live trading I earned a .001 btc. I prefer more profit than trading.

Becoming a trader is one of the simplest thing to do in this crypto world since all that is needed is to open an account, fund it and start trading but becoming a successful trader is what is needed and to do that, a lot of energy needs to be invested whether in the area of funds, time, research, trend analysis etc. The technical analysis is not really that hard if you can read and follow the posts of professional traders and from there you can make your decisions whether to rely on it or not.
659  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happened to bitcoins after one died? on: October 20, 2017, 09:26:12 AM
Who owns the bitcoin after someone died?  How to state this in the will? Please share your thoughts.
Someday bitcoins are lost forever and no one would able to access it, i think for sure is, if you have a bitcoin, you need to exchange it emidiatly to be sure, and your money is save it to a bank, then if you have an emergency you have a money saved.
If the runner of bitcoin investment dies then it will create problems not for bitcoin but for his family because investment in bitcoin needs knowledge and skills and may his siblings don’t have the idea how to continue and it will be worse thing for them. The bitcoin investment can be disturbed due to their interest. If it happens all over the world I am sure that the market cap will fell down so much.

The moment wealth is being transferred from one generation to another, so also I believe bitcoin can also be transferred all that is needed is to give the beneficiary the password and how to go about having access to it. After that whatever the beneficiary decided to do with it is no longer the owners problem after all he has gone. While some generation have been able to pass their wealth from one generation to another, others have been unfortunate to end it in their own era.
660  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to be Taxed...... on: October 20, 2017, 05:35:54 AM
This is interesting could be a mass following with this. South Korea is preparing to Tax bitcoin use after the cryptocurrency's trading volume sky-rocked. This could spark a new trend s everyone battels to see how to control the life of cryptocurrency's

One thing we need to understand is that with before bitcoin there has been government and this government is so powerful that no major technological advancement goes without them being taken care of if you want to have a good sail. So, we all just need to see this as an advantage on its own because it then means that we are can then run our individual businesses in peace without having to deal with the fear of government might ban bitcoin that would then lead to a crash.
