good news from Valencia, Voro is out, and Ruben Baraja will take the team into relegation fight, not sure will we make it or not, but it will be better than with Voro

first match and really important one, with another struggler Getafe, and a chance to put them down, and maybe reach safety after next round

That is good news, I might put them in on a ticket after tonight in this case -- I'm hoping they stay in, but also that they do something more permanent to make sure they stay up and put in a better showing next season. What that fix exactly is I can't say.

Good day for me on my 3 main tickets that isn't an acca... I'd have put another against Real today but Osasuna is not even 5/1 to win. I thought odds might change but a couple of hours to the game and it's refusing to budge. Atrocious!

Oh and yeah, Sociedad let me down, Villareal looks about to do the same.
2362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 18, 2023, 05:05:12 PM
Damn, but I didn't think Freiburg would ever come this close again to the top after tasting the heights of Bundesliga for some period. And BVB can even clamber into second place temporarily on goal difference if they win... not to leave the best for last with Union now wondering if they can invite destiny back into their hands with a win tomorrow.

Everyone can thank Gladbach for making Bayern their whipping boys (the early red of course helped a lot) but it's been so nice betting on this tie every time and counting the wins. Long live Gladbach!

2363  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: February 18, 2023, 03:54:56 PM
Nice promos, jeremypwr and SB! Forgot to mention I'd seen them here and then went to make my picks yesterday, not to mention all the free predictions contests ongoing.

I also didn't forget to put my $50 bets each on the Gunners and Saints games today (to take advantage of the "Return of EPL" Casino freechips bonuses). Arsenal ML it was for me, that hit, and a +1 Asian total at half time is returning my money back thanks to JWP, so I'm all good today and get $20 freechips waiting for me later.

Saints ML also waiting so I hope that hits!

Life can be good =D
2364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 18, 2023, 03:08:03 PM
Was out (am still out but en route to a tv) and was able to check around 10 mins left to see it was 2-2. Thought that was it. A bit unlike Arsenal to fire home late goals so emphatically (or was one an own goal or something) but damn, that was close.

Next is City to respond, and to give some weird context of what bookies are rating them, Forest are ONLY below 9/1 to win. Southampton away to Chelsea are less likely to win according to odds...
2365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 18, 2023, 01:41:56 PM
I know it's not totally unrelated but Monaco won an important match in Europa League -- keeping them alive on all fronts they want to win. I don't dare to say it, but could they be turning a tide? My man Mina's still not really hitting top form but mark my word, he will come good.

BTW, does anyone know much about this?

70 euros for a game, doesn't sound like much when you consider what people are paying in London for years, but I can't imagine how anyone can afford that money to watch their team every week.

F Football huh?

There goes the ATP question for most of us as Tsitsipas got eliminated and looking at the current odds we could potentially see Medvedev and Sinner reaching the finals.

I'll be needing Team Giannis to step up in the all-star game this weekend so they could save me from losing a crucial point in the h2h matchup.  Cheesy

Yikes, Tsitsi, but I no longer look at him with any love and hope, he's disappointed me far too often in past two years my heart's broken. Even tried to woo me back with the last GS but of course, Djoko a step too far.

My Week1 opponent has the same picks as me anyway (Tsitsi, Medvedev), so it's not going to change our outlook.
2367  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for February on: February 18, 2023, 11:05:41 AM
No...  If I'm right it all goes back down to 16k - 18k:  buyers come out then it goes back up to 23k - 24k:  sellers come out.  So BTC ending up being range bound for a time until the buyers get their fill at the bottom of the range and the sellers run out and will prolly end up buying too at some point.  Dunno..  But all these guys blindly saying to buy the dip are right for now.

And I still think all the stuff that's going on in the world will still have an effect crypto.  And it's all not looking good rn.

My latest "realistic fantasy" scenario is like this: I save as much fiat as I can this year (by converting a little more BTC than usual each week/month) and hopefully, after 10 months I can set aside as a reverse DCA, maybe $6k (it's the best I can do, about $500 a month)... and then by then, or soon after, we see that super dip.

If you're right at 16k (I'm thinking $14?) then that gets me almost ~0.4 BTC, something difficult for me to get anyway.

If we're wrong, and BTC goes back to say $30k, I'm buying it all anyway and get only 0.2 BTC.

It's not even much but as I said, I'm willing to try this, because if worst case scenario happens (I also believe the bad stuff going on around us has yet to really bear in) and we even see sub 10k, I would be very well positioned. And I've never been in that position =)
2368  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Wyoming passes bill prohibing Bitcoin private keys from Courts on: February 18, 2023, 10:33:06 AM
e.g. What if Mt Gox v2 happens and some random CEO decides f it, I'm keeping my private keys. Not their keys not their coins.
And i can see a point of that "CEO" from doing it (Why did you trust them?). In any case, he should just transfer the funds, not reveal keys. But in a well made exit scam they would have moved slowly those funds elsewhere by the time "oops, we ran out of money, our business model failed"...

People should just be educated about the true dangers of "custodial"...

Won't stop people from choosing what's easy for them. Or what fits their greed (think most people go on exchanges these days for their interest bearing stuff from "saving/staking".

I would actually say if you run a business and also requires being regulated, then the private keys must at least be retrievable by the same regulating authorities. Personal privacy shouldn't apply here to CEOs of regulated businesses that act as custodians for customer money. The law should be able to seize funds of rogue CEOs -- doesn't matter bank, company, or exchange.

The court will still see how much funds he holds through his adresses and public keys, and if he doesn't want to give on his own the amount of money ruled by the court they could seize all his other assets and put him in jail until he agrees to give the rest.

That's probably what they already do, but it doesn't solve the problem for the claimants...

Knowing how cray people get in that position, he might just try to blackmail instead and say he's willing to go to jail for a lifetime and take his keys to his grave. Can't imagine what people would do to him if he's out to force the keys out of him heh.
2369  Other / Meta / Re: [List]Gambling Board Spammers; Concerns, Solutions & Suggestions on: February 18, 2023, 09:25:13 AM
The important thing is they're being seen. Users, and moderators will never agree on everything, and moderators can't act upon the assumption that a user wouldn't reply to you or they're doing it simply to fill their quota. There has to be some sort of evidence, and that's what we act upon. However, I can confidently say that all your reports are being seen, and it's very likely a lot of those unhandled one's will be handled eventually. Although, if they do stay unhandled it could be a borderline case which no moderator feels confidently enough to act upon it, but don't necessarily think you're wrong.

Unhandled reports have their uses. Anyhow, all the reports I've made there recently have been handled, and I'm planning on visiting the Gambling section, and actually reporting regularly soon. I'm just going through the motions in the Altcoin section at the moment Tongue.

We just need a few reporters that don't necessarily care about their percentage, and just regularly report there. Once they start losing their activity or earnings they'll think twice about spamming in the future. Unfortunately, they only do it because they know they can get away with it. That's no backhanded insult to the moderators that receive the reports ther either, like I said all of them are seen, and most of them are acted upon. It's just there's so much it's a full time job to actually get that section back to acceptable levels.

Agree! And I'm not calling out anyone (I hope it didn't come across like that). I know mods work hard, and there are more users than we think also contributing. And the forum is cleaner than it was in 2017 (that's my impression). Only seems that the spam's moved to gambling and it's probably going to take some effort that can't be made by users+moderators.

Altcoin section, I haven't looked in ages. It was scary then..!

Oh and I don't care about percentages either... I have hundreds of unhandled. It's just the "Bad" report came out of the blue for me haha. Altcoin section is where reporters are required eh? Interesting!

P.S. Curiously, that post that gave me the bad report I mentioned is now deleted. Did someone change their mind maybe? Not (that) important heh
2370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2022/2023 on: February 18, 2023, 08:28:05 AM
Nothing else on my radar today, too late to add Blades ML on another ticket, as I've kind of got my laces all tied up already!
Don't worry, there are more matches and predictions coming this weekend.

A lucky miss, as it turns out. I've been saying for the past weeks to myself to spam on Burnley and Sheffield Utd... and then they both lose winnable games.

Doesn't really change my outlook though, I still think they are good teams to bet on as long as odds are close to 2/1 than to 15/10. I see you agree with that. So it's them and Boro also to make up 3 teams on my fresh acca today (the other two are EPL, so it's all English).

Did you notice QPR is now almost in relegation mode? They've somehow slipped out from my radar... would bet on them on a game if the odds weren't so ridiculously low for their current form.
2371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: February 17, 2023, 06:42:41 PM
F* me, I chose Napoli... I did read the question but I assumed (wrongly) it meant, current game week (I myself always use that term or even day to reference match day or game week, which is one of the odd things I picked up from football.). No difference, I'd have gone for BVB anyway and lost. This means LTU_btc, we're tied for points as you chose Benfica Wink

See, I do like giving my opponents a fair chance!

But more to the point, I think there's nothing wrong with the format or questions, atm. It's meant to be challenging, even tricky, and that only helps people who pay more attention or who care more, and that's sort of the point of this whole thing? So come on, guys, stop ranting at the match officials and get on with it =P
2372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: February 17, 2023, 04:44:53 PM
^ Just put my picks in for that, I went in blind on my picks, and went for team LeBron, who else right? This match is of particular importance also to BSFL peeps... I'm hoping LeBron gives others a chance for MVP while ensuring everyone scores a point.

Also don't forget the new round of Bet-6-6 too, always 100k free money to win (heh heh).

Look out for specials tomorrow. Big, big game for Arsenal to try and nudge City all the way!

2373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Champions League Pool ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: February 17, 2023, 03:35:21 PM
Let's ban KTChampions for rest of the matches of this round. I can bet he will still stay in number one. He is too good for others. When I get an exact score I check what he got and find he got it too. Fuck you KTChampions 😘
I agree with it! Tembolee that this scoundrel is in the lead not only in the pool of the Champions League.  Grin

Yes. I will put together a DAO proposal to vote KTChampions out for the second leg. And also, we will investigate if he has made financial dealings in his personal account without disclosing it to us, and dock him 50 points. He will probably still end up winning anyway.

Is anyone else annoyed the legs are so far apart? I'm looking forward to meeting Real, but then we have to wait for March to see them again. I don't really remember having to wait that long.

2376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin’s Future Depends on Six Mysterious Coders" WSJ, CSW and Andrew Chow on: February 17, 2023, 02:18:06 PM
I don't disagree these guys have power to change Bitcoin's code, but it's more accurate to say they can hold sway over any proposed changes in it. If it were true that a handful of people can bend/break Bitcoin to their will, then Bitcoin would have failed. You can put it to the test, too. Get one of them to write something arbitrary into the code, and people will notice, question, likely protest. And their reputations gone, also as the article does point out.

Read and you understand that these maintainers are chosen by (technically equivalent) peers and to quote: “act as a final check to ensure that patches are safe and in line with the project goals.”

That's the power they have, really.

The article's here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/bitcoin-core-maintainers-crypto-7b93804

P.S. I didn't realise Chow'd been "promoted" What's so mysterious about those developers? He's got an account here and he's never struck me as a guy shrouded in mystery.
2377  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Wyoming passes bill prohibing Bitcoin private keys from Courts on: February 17, 2023, 01:50:03 PM
On the surface, I do like that you can't be forced to hand over your private information... but I should think standing legal obligations should also be upheld (like if a person divorces and legally must hand over the divorced spouse's share of property... or tax obligations. I disagree with a lot of things but still believe in obeying the law of the country I live in. You know, "your house, your rules".

What happens when people are legally owed money by claimants and then this prevents claims?

e.g. What if Mt Gox v2 happens and some random CEO decides f it, I'm keeping my private keys. Not their keys not their coins.
2378  Other / Meta / Re: [List]Gambling Board Spammers; Concerns, Solutions & Suggestions on: February 17, 2023, 12:03:48 PM
@bullrunbro2020

Now I don't have much time these days, I still report posts from time to time, but usually only when I come across them. But with the restart of UEFA contests, I also saw myself getting pinged in my moderated threads, one user specifically mentioning what you said: the active threads are filled with spam. So I went to the bigger, more active Champions League page and the user was right, full of spam.

I reported posts from 3 users. 1 of which I decided to open up post history, and found that yup, they were posting spam across gambling. I reported all their posts for the day.

The result? My first reported post was marked Bad. That was only my 3rd "bad" report of my forum lifetime! But 4/5 of the others from the same users were deleted, one remained unhandled. The other 2 users were left unhandled.

I reported another 8 posts from 8 different users in 1 thread (La Liga) and only 1 was deleted/good, the rest unhandled.

I understand that moderators have strict thresholds so for sure, many of those posts don't deserve to be deleted but if you look at the majority of them, they're only recycling information that's easily Googled, or just rehashing earlier posts. To me, and to most of us, looking for helpful insight, betting tips or betting information, they really are just low-value comments that might as well be spam, since they don't even carry the thread of discussion, never respond to you if you reply to them, or DM them. That for me is enough to say they're not there to converse, they're there to post mindlessly.

I definitely saw initial activity on my newer self-moderated threads (those themselves were reactions to others who said it was getting hard to navigate with the post spam) but as AverageGlabella points out, these users don't reply to your conversations. To provide further evidence, I even tried PM'ing these guys after deleting their posts. Very, very few of them even responded back. Clearly, they didn't care or aren't even reading PMs, they're just wall-quoting and rehashing a comment.

It's definitely a dilemma. We now have 2/3 threads on the same topics. The ones with the most activity are not self-moderated, and has the lowest quality. I still participate from time to time and try to report posts. Generally, I still have a high accuracy count, but no longer have time to really help clean up. The ones with the highest quality are... well, the same people talking to each other. As Igebotz says, that's okay, and that's okay too, for me, since it serves the purposes of those needing those threads.

But yeah, for now, I'm ready to give up those self-moderated threads while there are also parallel topics involving paying users of paid pools. But does that work to exclude people who don't pay for those pools who still are genuine gamblers?

I feel like some responsibility also goes to those campaign managers of these users.
2379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How was Bitcoin mining done in the early days? on: February 16, 2023, 08:22:41 PM
You can try mining on the testnet to get an idea of how it was done back in the day... at least that was what I thought I did some years back. Also tried mining on some altcoins that were just clones of Bitcoin, just to get "the feel" of finding a block!

I like to think Laszlo must have mined all his tens of thousands on Bitcoin on his PC in the background, while wondering what to order for his kids' dinner.
2380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Group Stages on: February 16, 2023, 05:46:22 PM
Looking ahead to tomorrow's matches, i think there are two standout outrights to be had, AEK Larnaca and Braga qualifying for the next round. AEK and Dnipro met last summer, and AEK won both games to make the Europa League group stages. Dnipro has not played a competitive match since November and are forced to play their home fixtures at a neutral site. As for Braga and Fiorentina, the Portuguese are having a solid season and are only two points behind second-place Porto, whereas Fiorentina is in such poor form heading into this match. La Viola has the easiest Coppa Italia semi-finals matchup with Cremonese one could ask for, so that should be their focus rest of the season...i really don't expect them to do much against Braga. I will most likely end up with both AEK and Braga DC parlay on top of the outrights that i will also have.

Qarabag and Gent is one other match that caught my attention, Gent conceded 3 goals in each of their last three games in Belgium, Qarabag tends to play offensive footbal, so yeah, by simply putting two and two together...there could be goals here, btts and O2.5 quite tempting!

For those who want to get a little more creative with their bets, at this stage of the tournament last year, there were first-half goals scored in 7 of the 8 matches played, and 7 of the 8 away teams conceded a goal.

Thanks for the insight, I couldn't possibly have remembered these ties from last year, something tells me Dnipro is the hidden dark horse, although I usually never bet on teams that don't have match fitness.

I actually did well on some betting last night, so if I'm bored at HT, and depending on early Europa game outcomes, I might check back here for live betting and pick favs who are down a goal, since you brought up the HT goal tallies! I do recall before the break that there were plenty of goals in this league. That's always great value and I still have a boost to use up. If Cluj is somehow ahead also at HT, then I know where my hedge goes!
