2361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you rely on the odds when placing bets? on: January 07, 2021, 09:54:21 AM
~
So, the key here is not to bet more than can easily afford to lose, and if that is settled, you can go crazy all the way you want. Why not? Smiley
Reserve the bet money or make separate wallet just for this might help us to maintain the greed.

Those measures will hardly help if you can't control yourself. First of all, you should know your daily limit, and then never go over it, no matter how much money you have on your balance. If that's problematic for you, you should change the way your brain is wired, probably with some professional help, and only after that you can start betting.

I think People who can't control themselves, (or people who lack self control) shouldn't be allowed to bet on their own in the first place. You have to be responsible enough with money and time before you are allowed to bet. And responsible and safe betting will need to be encouraged more.
I don't really expect everyone to be strong enough to control themselves. That's likely one of the reasons the underaged are not allowed to bet in certain places.
2362  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔮 Futuur - Predict the Future! 🔮 on: January 07, 2021, 09:23:42 AM
Unique concept but its not new, sometimes people do this with their friends and families. Future betting is definitely a concept in gambling that haven’t been seen that much in gambling platforms, finally this platform made it formal and more organised compare to what we traditionally do.

The concept may not be new. Prediction is always the game in betting. You try to bet on whichever you think will come out. But what is new with Futuur is that it offers questions which are nowhere to be found on other prediction and betting platforms.

To give you an example, can you bet on the question whether or not humans will find evidence of life outside earth in other platforms? I don't think so. That's unique to Futuur.

I think the problem is the incomplete understanding of what Betting/Prediction Market really is. The understanding will likely help people make more discoveries of what is possible (and useful) in the betting world. It's simply about predicting, guessing, betting on the "right unknowns". It doesn't have to be dangerous or unsafe.

2363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that planned pump and dump is ethically acceptable? on: January 06, 2021, 05:15:22 PM
Not sure about the ethical part but i think it can be considered immoral if the intention is to manipulate price for selfish/bad reasons, and if a deliberate price manipulation is done without network approval.
So, people should be more considerate of the general network while trading.
2364  Other / Off-topic / Re: I got vaccinated today on: January 06, 2021, 03:14:25 PM
It takes a while to drinking after the vaccine!I will be greedy!

Hey, good for you got the vaccine today. Was it your first of second shot? Would be nice if you could right about any symptoms you experience in the next few days. I probably have to wait month before it's my turn
I will continue to vaccinate after 14 days,I will tell everyone if I have any side effects in the next few days.
Vaccination is something that all people should participate in. This is to protect everyone’s health.
I wish everybody all good health and never get sick.

But it's not necessary for everyone to get vaccinated. There will certainly be people who don't need it... They will either be naturally immune to the disease or are unlikely to contact and spread it
2365  Other / Off-topic / The Holy Bible is the only book that gives a trusted idea of what will happen in USA on: January 06, 2021, 02:55:12 PM
The Holy Bible (Word of GOD) is the only book in the world that gives a 100% trusted idea of what will take place in USA concerning the election. Part of the clue is in Book of Revelation.    The prophesy is thousands of years old. It's about what is happening in relation to the election and battle for the Presidency.
What happens or what will happen has already been known before our World was created. What you see happening is humans fulfilling the prophesies unknowingly. So, it shouldn't be surprising to anyone who knows the truth.

To have some idea of how awesome GOD is, just observe the activities of things around you, every one of them has be designed or predestined to happen that way, even before the world was created. And the CREATOR knows exactly how all of them will happen.

The will of GOD will always supercede the will of man.

2366  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC must go slightly up to save the trades and to less price corrections on: January 06, 2021, 10:25:13 AM
I guess you want the volatility to be moderate, with price going less downward and more upward on the average.
I think the extreme price volatility/fluctuation could be allowed only occasionally or once in awhile. And it's better to have the price  fluctuate more extremely upward than downward
2367  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to overcame high blood pressure? on: January 06, 2021, 09:40:46 AM
I partially agree with 2, as we don't have the same concept of eating healthily. For me it would be to eat three times a day maximum but with no whole grains, better if it's high in natural healthy fats, but as long as it's unprocessed food, I'm OK.

Ofcourse... As long as you feed (moderately) on healthy natural foods that improve your body, with little to no bad side-effect.
My recent experience with certain animal fat has taught me that not all fat are afterall bad for the body if consumed the right way.
I used to dislike any kind of fat years ago, probably due to my bad experience with certain fat and I depended alot on health articles/publication with materials that are not very correct or reliable.
Just eat more of the natural foods what work for you (especially those with little to no bad side effect).

2368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you rely on the odds when placing bets? on: January 06, 2021, 08:59:56 AM
In sports bets, you can't rely on odds. Odds change during the game and go up and down a lot. If you place your bet by looking only at the odds, the chances of winning do not increase in any part. Rather, better predictions can be made by following the team's performance when betting.

I wonder if the changes in odds reflect on the odds used by sites...Or better still , do betting site odd changes during matches, or are they dynamic as you described?
Well, I don't really think it's a good idea to completely rely on the given odds. Better to understand how things works and do your own research. Factors like experience, weather, environment, diet, emotional issues, health, training facilities, coaches, technical know-how, etc can affect Team performances.

2369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hamster powered races on: January 06, 2021, 08:32:03 AM
I think that is quite nice and cute indeed,. . .

Not only that they have branded marble racing literally. When someone would try and think of it, it would be their site they would go to , they did include ETH in there too which made it all better since the sending and receiving charges are far less thus it's more convenient for everyone. But the only thing is the wager is predetermined. In the future I do believe we will have many more ideas like this but this is again way better than other sports like bull fighting, cock fighting etc.

Totally agree! this is way better than having an animal get hurt for the entertainment purpose, And I think that this kind of idea is great and can be applied in different ways for online entertainment as well, and I also like how we can play using ETH for faster transaction now that Bitcoin is way way up and unpredictable at the moment. I will try it when the live stream start but the difference in our timezone is a little predicament at the moment, but will try and stay up all night for me to play.

I think people should also be concerned about people who bet on such games. It has to be safe for them too and should unlikely get them addicted, they should bet responsibly and should avoid betting with what they can't afford to lose.
I believe the human should benefit more and  be more protected in this.
2370  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔮 Futuur - Predict the Future! 🔮 on: January 06, 2021, 08:10:42 AM
You can actually bet on the future on events that start tomorrow. In theory, that is already the future. Where, then, would the dividing line lie somewhere over the concept of the future?
Yes, this is a really interesting question.  Where is this border for the future?  Sometimes, in instant draws, it can be seconds.
But, as I understand it, devs focuses on events that will begin to occur at long intervals, sometimes even calculated in years.  It is this kind of long-term forecast game that is the main feature of this project.

I will prefer the terms "predict/bet on the right unknown". This is likely a more general term for most things that involve Betting/Prediction.
You could bet on the correct unknowns of past... if the truth is revealed and you are correct, you win the bet

2371  Other / Off-topic / Re: What time do you go to bed? on: January 05, 2021, 04:25:57 PM
Sleeping for 4 hours is definitely dangerous. Whenever i sleep that little i feel like whole day is wasted, I can't focus and be productive as much as when I'm rested well. For me the norm should be at least 7 hours of sleep.

I guess that depends on how much rest/sleep your body needs. If my body feels well rested and energetic at night, I usually do not bother myself with too much sleep. Besides, that is good time for me to do certain works without too much distractions

2372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Disadvantages of Bitcoin on: January 05, 2021, 03:55:48 PM
Well, imagine what Bitcoin will be without the anonymity feature. You will likely weaken its security as a decentralized currency/network. The anonymity is a top feature that is important to keep the network and participants safe from surveillance, takeover, attacks, plus other useful purposes... The feature could also be abused if not designed properly.
So the anonymity feature shouldn't be compromised. It should instead be strengthen  and made difficult to be misused by users/participants.
2373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi must be spinning in his grave. on: January 05, 2021, 03:31:49 PM
Are you suggesting he is "asleep" whereas there is no evidence to support this? Or does the "spinning in his grave" means something else other than what I think it means?

Well, part of Bitcoin designed was to serve as protection against inflation or to move up in price as it becomes more valuable... That is an important feature of Bitcoin. I'd however agree with you if you argue in support of a more moderate and gradually price movements.
2374  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to avoid depression? on: January 05, 2021, 10:08:28 AM
The ultimate and permanent cure for depression is repentance from evil, believing in GOD, avoiding evil, not feeding on bad/evil things, feed regularly on good things instead, and completely rely on our Holy FATHER (the Source of all good things and the CREATOR of Heaven and Earth) to lead you.
Always love GOD and your neighbors to continue to benefit from HIS full blessings such as happiness, peace, joy, etc. HIS Love will help you love others.    GOD is Love. If you abide in HIS Love, you will never feel depressed.
2375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when everyone just holds their bitcoin and theres few txs? on: January 05, 2021, 09:37:43 AM
Seems demand, supply and transactions work hand in hand. If demand and supply is low or nonextent, a coin is probably not very useful to users, transactions will be low as well and price/value will be low.
So whales or other holders would be holding because Bitcoin is very useful/valuable and that will translate to increased transactions and higher price/value.
2376  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔮 Futuur - Predict the Future! 🔮 on: January 05, 2021, 08:36:07 AM
I would like to hear people's comments here regarding Futuur's settlement of bets.
I have a total of three bets on predictions which ended in 2020. So that was 3 days ago since we are already January 03, 2021 right now. But they are still waiting for results.
~snip~
It's worried, those bet haven't been settled yet. And there are few many bet like this. Don't know why they taking that much time to declare the winner. Yesterday I have placed a bet with bitcion balance. It was a football match between Deportivo Alavés and Atlético Madrid. I placed bet on Atlético Madrid and won it. My winning was credited to my account within few minutes as the game finished.I have requested a withdrawal too and received it within five hours.

So why is the football match different?

What kind of Game/Competition/Event did you bet on that hasn't been settled yet? Has the game/competition completely ended and the final score/result (result without the potential to be reverted and won't be contested by the competitors or others stakeholders) known?

2377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hamster powered races on: January 05, 2021, 08:10:33 AM
I guess it's one of those articles about betting with animals that makes you wonder if it's going to be abused or not.  If such thing attracts people who are willing to abuse animals and take big risk for selfish reasons then I don't think it is an idea worth encouraging.  I believe good betting space should be both useful and safe for everyone.
Hopefully it's not even real animal

For fun its OK but if the animals abuse its different story there are already laws thatw protect animals even how small they are .thats why I think it  will not going to be  abuse base on the article .the only problem is that if many people may imitate it and not be able to control themselves when they are the one who do it and at those times there may be animal can be abuse.

I think the game or whatever it's should benefit the animals, instead of just the players. The animals should not be maltreated or be forced to do things against what is good and safe for them.
I think the company/business should make it clear to users or customers that the animals are not badly treated/handled in any way. By the way, the word "gambling" create an impression that this will somehow be abused.

2378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you ever bet on SRL events? on: January 05, 2021, 07:46:13 AM
Just hearing that for the first time.
Who or what plays the simulated matches/games, Humans, AI or both? Or does everything depend entirely on AI? If it does, I guess I will need to properly understand how the AI make decisions and work in general before placing bet.
Grin humans play the game but they are predetermined becasue they are programming games. When humans play these games they are very low on determining their luck to win the game. Sometimes few months ago i do engaged in the game but wasn't successful in the game and i quitted the games immediately.

Guess it's not like typical soccer/football computer games that do not play properly on their own unless skilled human players play them properly?
So, a "predetermined" simulated game would still play on its own without human player actively involved/playing? If this is the case, i may be correct to say that AI is involved in the game but human player is incharge? The AI acts as an assistant?
2379  Economy / Economics / Re: We, bitcoiners, should buy a bank on: January 04, 2021, 04:11:53 PM
I prefer Bitcoin to the way it is today, because without a bank Bitcoin can grow rapidly. So in my opinion it is enough just exchanges for
Bitcoin transactions, because if Bitcoin transactions are in banks, the same thing as Bitcoin transactions on the Paypal platform. Which
will be limited in making transactions, after all, the government will not allow a bank for Bitcoin transactions exist. Because it can threaten
the existence of fiat.
Banks are not the ways of bitcoin could grow bigger, it is centralized and it is not really something we should be looking for because of it. However if we want to we are our own bank anyway, why would we want to give away that type of power to someone else?

I personally think even exchanges are not going to be standing for too long, obviously binance is doing everything in their power to be not just a trading place but to add a lot more stuff to their system, which is probably going to be their path in the future, however I believe all those centralized exchanges are going to end, let alone a bank to start. Why are moving a lot more decentralized in crypto, one of the main reasons why we moved from traditional markets was the fact that we wanted to be decentralized, and we want more decentralization in crypto every single day,so a bank is out of question.

Ofcourse.
Bitcoin is attractive to lots of people because of it's uniqueness. If it remains unique and avoid trying to be alot like fiat, it probably will continue to make sense why we have it in the first place.

Decentralization, immutablity, censorship resistant, transparency, permissionless/trustless, privacy, deflation, etc makes it unique and useful. It should continue to stick to its important ideals as much as possible in order not to derail.
2380  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Would You Enter Now, Sell close to the top, then Rebuy at Dip? on: January 04, 2021, 03:23:29 PM
Predicting tops and bottoms is very difficult especially in Crypto. Just when you think you think you caught a bottom btc shoots higher and vice versa on the bottoms. It’s better too Use TA and trade within certain parameters. Take small positions that allow you to dollar cost average if things don’t go your way as many times it won’t.

In my opinion, short-term traders should always remember to have parts of their trading funds invested long-term just in case price "shoots higher" above their expectations.
The longterm investment will likely comfort a trader and reduce regrets whenever price shoots up beyond his/her expectation.
I would continue buying the significant dips and never bother myself too much with a bull run because my long-term fund is still benefitting from it
