1701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market Analysis of Mina Protocol: Lightweight Privacy-based Blockchain Protocol on: June 01, 2021, 10:48:45 AM
The file structure is meant to be stacked so how can each block be 22k. In my understanding, over time this structure will make the blockchain heavier and heavier. Another problem is that this blockchain is so light, what will it be used for?
I prefer a blockchain of moderate size because it can ensure applicability and security.

I guess Op is referring to block size limit rather than a whole Blockchain.
I think a proper size should depend on participants producing their own Blocks, which would work great on multi-chain Network with custom Blockchains.
1702  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Money Need Competition To Flourish on: June 01, 2021, 10:30:00 AM
Competition has to be moral/healthy though.  Competitors need to pass all the safety standards to  considered success/moral/good.
If a competitor is breaking safety standards/rules while others in thesame field are obeying them, the ones breaking the safety standards may "succeed" first in the business and gain undeserved reward/success.  That's one of the reasons we have bad products (typical "processed sugar" instead of honey for example) in consumers goods.
Whoever solves an important problem first without breaking the good standards/rules deserves the right market. The rest could be tutored by the best so that we have more best competitors. No one is left to die else it could be considered immoral competition.
Darwin theory is based on selfishness which is actually against the fact that good Earth is supposed to be filled with living things that coexist in harmony and selflessness

Interesting you said gambling is evil. Yet you promote evil?
Have you obtained license to practice the gambling or has government not given license already? No rule on Safe Bet in the License or the government just permits you to practice the Evil?

What kind of gambling are you referring to by the way, Taking big risk on Bets or simply any kind of betting competition, games, events whether risky or not?

Do you think betting on lottery is gambling, and lottery is evil?
If we didn't do it, somebody else just would. At least we can do it slightly less evil than somebody else.
And yeah, we do have a license.

All betting. I think lotteries are even worse, just because the house edge on lotteries is so insanely high.

Well, what makes Betting games/competitions evil is how people use them and what they are meant for. Certain bettings are use for pooling funds togethers and distributing in larger chunks to lucky people. I guess you could reduce the odds of winning a lottery for loyal bettors, and there will be some degree of certainty in reaping rewards long-term and that will make lottery kinds of bets as useful as investing in Cryptocurrency for example.

It's important to eliminate abuse/misuse of bettings, and make them safe and beneficial for both customers and betting businesses. The businesses are actually providing a useful service and did nothing wrong if they benefit from the service they provide. I just hope they don't  benefit too much or take too much profits.
Maybe if we have a pure p2p betting platforms that won't be much of a problem.
1704  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientists' appeal to the crypto community - the creation of new technologies on: June 01, 2021, 09:13:04 AM
I actually don't want him/her disappointed by attitudes, just incase he is really sincere but don't fully know how to go about the idea. I also hope he/she doesn't have any bad intention considering it's newbie account.

Well, I know how it feels getting ignored/rejected/discouraged many years ago by people who I thought will love my cool ideas I spent a lot of time putting together. So, I'm not going be like those people to him/her until I see what he got.

We need convincing proofs that the idea will work, and it is important that the poster can be trusted. Or we will probably need to be bounded by good strict rules coded on some sort smart contract rather than relying on individual trust.  Without this or something similar, it will be hard to convince experienced and knowledgeable people about revolutionary idea/tech
1705  Economy / Economics / Re: Debate: Please explain to me why... on: May 28, 2021, 04:36:10 PM
Probably thesame  way the increase in the cost of transportation affects the price of important goods that are transported through public/private vehicles... And that could have ripple effect on the prices of other basic goods and services. The networks/systems are somehow interconnected. You can break away from this if you could somehow become fully independent of the networks, and probably use a better model others can find reliable and safe.
1706  Other / Off-topic / Re: Crypto journey on: May 28, 2021, 03:57:41 PM
Good to invest wisely, especially on things that can sustain you and others in the event of serious crisis. That's part of what Bitcoin was built for, an autonomous/alternative community and financial system that can be used to preserve values and sustains global community in the event of serious global crisis like the global financial crisis that probably took place in 2007–2008.
I would make sure the the true crypto communities help build well decentralized and autonomous Networks/systems that can survive what is coming and be used to preserve the lives of many souls.
1707  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the likelihood that a virus breaches a Cell barrier if this happens? on: May 28, 2021, 02:53:54 PM
Immune system is the protective barrier you are talking about, it only fight against the foreign bodies and it may need some time to find that solution that is what the 14 days treatment period for corona patients, and people with weak immune system may need added supplements and concentrated oxygen to ease the pain.

You can't kill a virus, all you can do is to prepare your immune system to fight against it that is what the vaccines are here for.

Ofcourse.
Not sure it's exactly what I'm talking about though. When I wrote that I was picturing many cells under the covering of transparent materials like amniotic sacs... Or imagine humans living in large transparent balloons. Humans actually have coverings like Balloons around us individually but they can't be seen with the ordinary eye. The CREATOR seems to put the covering/shield around HIS Creatures, including things as tiny as cells for their protection

I guess immunity is protection from the disease offered by our body defensive system, including the shield. While Immune System is the defensive system

Hello,
I have a few. Does the website you work for :
has a .onion address? does it accept xmr? does it offers texas hold'hem poker without email registration?
If not, why? state regulations, mandatory laws? As such to whom do you have to drop the website client lists?
Ever received a lea (law enforcement agency) request?
on a lighter note, do you think gambling is evil? Should gambling websites have a conservatorship duty on their clients like britney spears father on her?
No .onion address.
We don't take XMR.
We don't have poker either. We have talked about it though.
All of it is technically possible, but no registration would be trouble. You can't have a license then.
Not sure if we have received law enforcement requests per se, but there have been requests from governments.
Yeah, gambling is evil for sure. So many people get their lives ruined by addiction. We do actually try to take the moral high ground in our niche, despite it sounding quite weird. It's important to acknowledge gambling addiction, and we also believe that if we actually care more about our users we may not make that extra buck now, but instead in the longer term by the better reputation.

Interesting you said gambling is evil. Yet you promote evil?

1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you recommend staking? on: May 28, 2021, 10:47:19 AM
I do not recommend staking on anything that has not a long lasting record of real use for the network, since staking is just about getting rewarded for the safety of a network and that only makes sense if the network has sufficient transactions to  make it even worth being secured. Many people are confused with words such as "dividends" or "returns" but the truth is that value cannot be generated without user willing to use the underlying network. How many use cases are already in place for the network of your choice? Probably none.

Ofcourse.
It's actually a bad idea to buy and stake, esp longterm, a cryptocurrency that isn't:
1. Well decentralized,
2. Consensus-driven,
3. Based on fair rules that can't easily be changed without stakeholders permission,
4. Censorship resistant,
5. trustless/permissionless,
6. privacy-friendly/anonymity-friendly,
7. Immutable
8. secure,
9. very useful
etc

It's a gamble/big-risk to stake lots of coins that aren't safe/well-decentralized , or with coin/platform controlled by people who can easily breach the social contract between them and participants.
1710  Economy / Economics / Re: Three South Korean Banks Stop Working With the Nation’s Crypto Exchanges on: May 28, 2021, 10:20:14 AM
Well, a centralized exchange has to be subjected to the good rules that are meant to secure the financial sector that operate like the banks in their host countries. They typically have the unique personal identities of users, or are there more requirements? Well, as long as the requirements are reasonable, and safely solve the problem they were created for.

Every responsible human on earth need a neutral ground to safely benefit from cryptocurrency... That has to be peer-to-peer decentralized platforms/networks. This is the reason for true cryptocurrency. It's has to be done safely and efficiently.
1711  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after 3rd Halving prediction on: May 28, 2021, 09:52:22 AM
looking at the halvings trend, the next one will probably not have such a great impact as the ones before. There is plenty of bitcoin used just a reserve and there is little movement versus the minimal also production. To move the price beyond 100k requires a huge influx of money and even hodlers cannot hodl forever if they see that what they bough for 1000 is now worth 10 life´s of hard work and a generational wealth opportunity that will go beyond their own lives.

My guess is that wall street funds getting in bitcoin will also add further volatility, as stocks investors do not quite understand how bitcoin works in terms of price and demand.

Part of the problems is unsustainable price growth. There has to be stable contributors to the price growth. Wish the community could  factor this into their price growth metrics and that could help direct real investors where to safely invest their fund long-term. Bitcoin remains the safest as far as I can tell... hopefully there is also proper platforms where funds can be safely used p2p in manner.
Extreme price volatility will be minimized when people start putting most of their coins into good use rather always looking for quick gains.

I hope people start focusing on real investors rather than gamblers(big risk takers) or those those will help push the price extremely high up. The price increase has to be from stable/long-term investors.
1712  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientists' appeal to the crypto community - the creation of new technologies on: May 28, 2021, 09:15:45 AM
I guess if this came with Proof of Concept It might convince those you are trying to partner with . Things like that would sound unbelievable to people who do not understand what you are explaining but know what you are trying achieve.

It probably should be explained bit  by bit and clearly on this thread so that people would know whether its feasible or not. Not interested in landing on planets though, just traveling within this world and for other possible applications.

I do not know if you have watched the video that I attached to the post..  Smiley

The principle is quite simple: we take two emitters in our example, these are ultrasonic emitters. The emitters must initially operate at the same frequencies and be in-phase. We direct the emitters at each other. And we create a standing wave between them.

Next, we begin to shift the phase between the emitters. At the same time, the boat begins to move. So we can bring the same principle to the electromagnetic environment, that is, any space that carries electromagnetic waves: near-Earth space or outer space.

The only thing is that there are certain details that we can't talk about here since this is the know-how, but the principle itself is very simple.  Smiley

You actually described what makes the "boat" to move, how about floating/flying?
Well, it's a fancy idea that will probably work but strong dedicated engine will be required to make it drive and float really fat. Imagine buying a truck to power your home (TV, cellphone, fridge, etc) or just buying a electric generator to do a better job.  Hope it's not thesame case with your stuff. I expect a clean energy efficient engine that can fully do what you described, efficiently.
I watch the video abit some days ago after reading your post but wasn't sure it's what you described in the post.  Guess I saw boat moving slowly on water in the video rather than flying object  you seem to describe in your post as what you want to create.
1713  Other / Off-topic / Re: weird message activity on: May 27, 2021, 05:35:15 PM
I guess it's better we know what site you are referring to so people can help you vetify whether it's reputable enough. An escrow services provider has to reputable/trustworthy provider, or you simply use a automated escrow service that holds user fund securely on neutral address/contract which can only be release/unlocked once the terms of service has been fulfilled. The peers also need an arbiter/arbiters who can resolve dispute if either user have issues or are unsatisfied with the transaction/service.
1714  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need Help Building a Community to Run Nodes for our New Project on: May 27, 2021, 04:40:03 PM
Hi there fellow CryptoKings and CryptoQueens.

My partner and I are building a project, it is still in the ideation phase, but we've both been in the scene for a while. Our project is serious to us, but it may seem a little gimmicky to those on the outside. I will get more into the details of the project as we continue to finalize our mechanics and build architecture.

What I really want to get at is how to build a community of individuals who would be willing to run our nodes. I have no experience community building, I also do not know how to maintain such a community. If there are any tips, insights and (fingers crossed) individuals who have run nodes for various projects please comment.

I am very grateful for any insight that an open discussion on this topic can generate.

Thank you!

Community members could rank/reward one another based on how honest & often they run their nodes, and also how much useful services their nodes provide to the community. The rewards can be both manual and automated. Members could manually report issues that break list of community rules or give good rewards to those that help the community. Those who provide very important solutions to problems for the community without breaking good community rules/principles get higher rewards
You can check this out for more help:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5298832.msg55796204#msg55796204

You could also create/include a safe Decentralized Identity System your members can use to verify and safely store their encrypted unlque identities. They would use the public keys from Identity System to safely verify that they have real identity on a secure, immutable platform, which is the Decentralized Identity System
This identity system can help the community prevent alot of problems, like spam attacks, impersonation, committing serious crimes under false/hidden identity, etc
A user's public keys from the identity system can be used anonymously, or with acceptable names attached to them. Any reports, rewards etc to a user's public keys are automatically linked to the user's real encrypted identity stored on the decentralized identity system.

Part of the solutions to building a sustainable community is to have both automated and manual system for reward very useful evidence-based contributions that do not violate the good rules. Part of automation job is to checks for those who applied to be rewarded for contributions. Users with very useful contributions but without rewards could apply for rewards that must be attended to within a specified period , once others members are unable to find fault in the application, the user automatically get the due rewards for specific kind of reward he/she applied for. Members that find faults in the application get part of the reward that's meant for the user.

Safe decentralized identity system would help make things like this fraud-proof.

You're welcomed.
Good to always take the well planned gentle ride to avoid hitting dangerous obstacles in the journey.

Seems where you used to be before joining Bitcoin/Bitcointalk isn't better than what we have today in the community?
Wish you safe future rides.
1716  Other / Off-topic / Re: Habits on: May 27, 2021, 02:52:32 PM
I think my only habit right now is checking the price of cryptocurrency or reading manga,
I did plan on exercise or work out but I think I don't have enough motivation to do it,
I also want to build up a healthy habit too but maybe when things got a little better for me.

Like almost all members who are active on this forum have the habit of checking crypto prices every day. In fact, almost every hour I see
the movement of the crypto market, because the current market situation is quite tense. I also really like Anime, but I prefer watching Anime,
rather than reading manga. Regarding sports, I suggest you have to force yourself to exercise every day even if it's only 15-30 minutes.
This is to maintain the health of our own bodies.

Something is causing people to behave that way. Its intention is to create fear and panic. People should refocus their mind on good/productive things, and stop taking big risk with their time and money. Avoid anything that creates the fear and panic. I have witnessed this before, a mind control system used to create disorderliness, distraction, confusion before a takeover, destruction or profiting from what they see as opportunity, unwanted, enemy forces etc. Better for people to focus their minds on things that are good and useful for the community/people and ignore them, else they turn their victims into what they want them to be .
You have to be strong to be able resist getting sucked in.

To humans: "those are fearful words",  To the CREATOR: "I'm exposing your enemies to you."
1717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of your first contact with BTC? on: May 27, 2021, 10:21:58 AM
I think it  just felt right when I first saw it and read about it. It felt like a global Community Bank that is monitored and regulated by members.

Safe usage of Bitcoin by honest participants/users/community from anywhere in the world is what makes it legal.

If you could have participants/users use it on decentralized/p2p platform or network, that has good ideals like transparency, immutablity, fair rules, reputation, censorship resistant, permissionless/trustlessness, privacy/anonymity, network consensus, etc .. you would be using it the right way
1718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why bake and Cake going low? on: May 27, 2021, 10:02:32 AM
I assume there has to be increasing demand that outweigh supply to keep the price high than low.
So, the easy way to get some idea what going on is to compare the total amount available for sell to the buyers.. . Are there enough buying compared to selling?
I don't want to bore you with details... You can obtain the info then compare and contrast.

1719  Other / Off-topic / Re: People of btctalk, what kind of pet do you have at home? on: May 27, 2021, 09:29:46 AM
I like dogs too. I considered raising one or more where I currently live but abandoned the idea after considering certain issues I may face unprepared. One of the biggest issues is how to be constantly moving around or traveling with the dogs.
The dog and I would need to be very useful in the family so that no one will be a burden to each other.
1720  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I start betting on sports? on: May 27, 2021, 09:14:46 AM
I need to start making money. I go to school. I want to make money and go on a vacation trip with the class. Should I start betting on sports?

Interesting question.
What course are you learning in school, by the way? Does it relate to sports or something? If viewing football or any sport for that matter helps your studies or school education, then you could spend some time on them. Students need alot of time to learn
If you are learning a course that relate to sports and you are talented or passionate about sports, then It may be ok to follow the kind of sports you are learning about, and possibly learn to bet on it with little to no risk. Once you become consistently successful/profitable in your bets, you could gradually begin to raise your bet minimum to safe level as you continue to improve & be consistently profitable.

It's more efficient to bet on things you're learning in school and are talented in. For example, if you are learning about economics/currency/money, you could also learn to predict the currency market, and possibly get some rewards from doing well. That's more efficient way of learning, working and earning a living. You spend more time on things that help your talent and career in life
