1501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Protect Crypto Currency White Paper From Plagiarsm on: July 20, 2021, 10:06:52 AM
Interesting.
Some could still have a way around this solution to copy from a whitepaper. I try to imagine how copy-resistant the method is and i noticed a loophole.
I wish this community is more organized to the extent of having open platform where people can be incentivized to dedicate lots of their time in handling such cases. I prefer it to decentralized, transparent and autonomous group where contents/whitepaper can be protected and anyone can always use the platform to protect and prove their works are not plagiarized/copied, and the creators can receive some sort of badges, certificates, etc that prove a work is not plagiarized. In the end, whitepapers/contents creators will be advised to get their own cheap/free certification from that reputable platform to be taken seriously by crypto communities.

1502  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Renewable Energy resources the future? on: July 20, 2021, 09:29:00 AM
The world has been depending on burning fossil fuels for energy, throughout all these years. With dependence on fossil fuels, soon enough these finite materials will be depleted. Not only that, but it also has adverse effects for the environment, everything from air to ocean and land pollution.

Fossil fuels include, coil, oil and natural gas, with the latter being cleaner that oil and coal in terms of emissions. Let's also keep in mind how strenuous of a process it is to extract oil, promoting environmental disasters.

Most common renewable energy sources include, solar energy, wind energy, hydro energy, tidal energy and a few others.

The big question here is, can the world be 100% dependent on renewable energy sources? How can that be achieved and are they sustainable?

The renewable energy sources you listed could be as bad as the effects fossil fuel and others have to the world if used wrongly. I have identified few issues with 2 in the list, and they can easily be proven. I won't be surprised if others have worst problems.

What is important is to use the natural resources safely. I guess it's very important that qualified people in this area look for ways to extract them safely and what the minimum amount that can be considered safe for extraction. They should be produced and used in ways that is safe for humans and our world.
1503  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I start betting on sports? on: July 20, 2021, 09:07:31 AM
A few weeks ago before the EM 2020 I said on the thread that you can try to go into sports betting during these large tournaments because there are some high favourite teams that will guarantee a good payout. Unfortunately I was wrong, this year EM was a disaster for me. I lost my last 6 bets in a row and blew a lot of money. In the end it would have been better to not gamble at all. So many games went into overtime and penalty shootout that either team could have won.

Interesting.
It is never good to gamble or take big risk. If you wish to learn how to bet correctly & profitablly, You should bet with little to no risk until you become consistently profitable.
You should never gamble while betting. Always limit risk and practice safe bet while learning to predict correctly. Once you become consistent in predicting matches correctly, you could increase your betting fund to a safe level.
If you end up failing at predicting matches, it's probably not your talent. You should look for something else you are talented in to earn you sustainable income
1504  Economy / Economics / Re: Higher Inflation Is Here to Stay for Years on: July 16, 2021, 04:47:37 PM
When we look at things from that perspective then maybe we can try to understand how bad the situation is in some countries, compared to what is happening in the US or the EU. Of course, it should be borne in mind that we cannot compare people in Venezuela who are accustomed to an extremely difficult life, and say the countries of Western Europe that have a standard of living unimaginable to people living in third world countries.

Anyhow, we all knew inflation was coming, even without the money printing it was clear it would happen simply because of the lack of goods, taking lumber, for example, that spike of 400% didn't happen because of money printing, it happened because of the whole manufacturing and logistic chain was almost destroyed. Inflation is here to stay, especially if we're going to experience the 4th wave with lockdowns but it's nowhere near the point of making a country collapse.

Prices of things would have been worst where I live, if not for people going against unreasonable lockdown to do their businesses and help keep prices of local products from going through the roof. If not for the regular business people here, prices of things would have gone above 30-50%. I was actually surprised that bag of stable food like local rice remained pretty thesame. The hardworking small and medium scale business men/women pretty much saved the situation. Thanks be to the CREATOR for doing it all.
1505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of stake criticism on: July 16, 2021, 04:18:10 PM
I think the stake is used as bond by validators. Validators get rewarded for doing their work right. Certain PoS model gets validator's stake slashed when they act dishonestly or break the rules.
So, validators are required to stake certain amount to be able to take part in consensus/governance. The amount required to be staked are typically high and unaffordable for majority of network participants who run full nodes and are supposed to easily take part in full network consensus/governance so we don't risk centralizing or concentrating power in hands of people which could potentially be abused.
A proper decentralized network/system should make it possible for everyone to easily take part in full consensus/governance by just running full nodes, using their computer power to solve problems and secure the network. The typical pos makes this difficult for everyone.
1506  Economy / Economics / Re: Higher Inflation Is Here to Stay for Years on: July 16, 2021, 03:28:35 PM
I've said it for a long time, but this time, I'm not making this up. It's from the WSJ.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/higher-inflation-is-here-to-stay-for-years-economists-forecast-11626008400

BTC holders shall not worry.

A good Store of Value and a good hedge against inflation and uncertainty, due mainly to its ideals. Best for storing values long-term rather than short-term, and the values also benefits from its "inflation-proof/deflationary" feature especially long-term.  You can also use it to exchange value with peers short-term. It should be used for what it was made for rather than to get rich quick.
1507  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you use deodorant? on: July 16, 2021, 02:57:58 PM
My skin is very sensitive, so when I use deodorant a few times I get irritated. Therefore I tried to find another natural alternative, after I read many
articles on the internet. We can use aloe vera instead of deodorant, aloe vera plant is very much in my country. That's why I use aloe vera
instead of deodorant, Aloe vera can eliminate body odor because of its anti-bacterial and anti-microbial. Then most importantly aloe vera is
safe to use on sensitive skin.

But aloevera it self has this Odor that is not good for smell , how can you eliminate the Bad odor comes from Aloe vera? in fact the smell of aloe vera juice is same as smell of Under arm odor.

To eliminate the odour from aloe vera, you can wash it with water and use soap for the face. It is better to use baby soap if you have sensitive skin on your face.

Besides that, when you use aloe vera, you do not need to use it all day long, maybe for just 15-30 minutes.
Wait underarm deodorizer how can you use it for just 15-30 mins mate? i mean when we use Aloe Vera for our underarm this will take Whole day to take effect right?
or else you only need to scrub it and then washing or cleansing ? sorry i never try this thats why i am asking as i also have Aloe vera plants in my garden and i am considering trying it but my concern is the odor.
Usually, underarm deodorizers can not stay for a long time. As far as I know, when you use Aloe Vera, that is for temporary and then you need to wash with water, and then you can use underarm deodorizers. At least, that is what I did when I use Aloe Vera on my hair and face.
Scrub it and then washing or cleansing is okay. The odor will be temporary, you do not have to worry.
Ohhh . so we will not contain what OP is asking that we will only try using natural and no other chemical formula like deodorizer .

Anyway thanks for the input mate and yeah that make sense now.

Ofcourse. I'm referring to the natural ones. And I hope people understand what natural means. It has to be in its pure natural state, without being badly altered, processed or added with synthetic substances. If it must be processed, it must be done in a way that it doesn't altered or reduced its good/nutritional value or even change its quality from good to bad. The processed ones should still be edible and safe
1508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is reconstructing the current law system of human society on: July 16, 2021, 10:56:37 AM
No Just Law can ban/stop what is good and lawful. Free people have the right to use what is good/safe. Our fundamental laws gurantee rights. I think the problem is lawlessness. You will need be lawless person or develop an evil law to be able to ban what is right and better than existing alternatives.
Just go back to the good laws, and there won't be need for reconstruction. No Just country will reject good law.
1509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Axie Infinity's popularity is sustainable? on: July 16, 2021, 09:43:47 AM
Hope I know the true purpose of the game and the incentive model. That will help me determine whether it's sustainable long-term or not. And I believe a game should be safe and beneficial to people and society, otherwise it's simply creating problems rather than being a solution to problems
1510  Other / Off-topic / Re: Democracy Quotes for the People, by Libertas Bella on: July 16, 2021, 09:13:34 AM
Every Nation including leaders should be guided by the Law (good Law). If you make voting to be based on merit it would be safe to allow anyone to participate in governance, voting/election as long as they choose and are chosen based on merit.
Kings rule based on their good laws. I doubt they are allow to freely break the law.
So a leader or a king is free to rule and produce results as long as they aren't breaking the Law. Once the law is broken, those who real power belongs to (the people) are free to defend the law and their country against the law breakers. Those in the position of authority should be accountable to the people. And everyone is equal before the law.

1511  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you use deodorant? on: July 15, 2021, 04:08:45 PM
Will keep trying different natural alternatives until I find something that is safe and can last longer than what I currently use without having to cut down large part of a plant just for my armpit. Feels abit selfish.
Will try to explore fruits, leaves, etc... probably mixed with small amount of aloe vera juice
1512  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin Marriage on: July 15, 2021, 03:40:04 PM

Marriage is the ultimate symbol of commitment and the foundation of your love to your partner. Your ceremony is where you and your partner declare your vows, and dreams together. Couples look forward to their wedding day and do their best to make it a memorable one. This couple however chose to share their cherished moment in their lives on the blockchain.

I guess the marriage contract was stored on Blockchain and not like they really married on Blockchain? Unless you mean they made a marriage vow using smart contract or something.
Well, as long as they understand the contract term before accepting it and there should family members or people close to them who witnessed the signing of the marriage contract. To be on safe side, parents should approve of the marriage... if they have no good reason not to allow them marry, then they can marry.
1513  Economy / Economics / Re: Only young and naive guy believe in high risk high return on: July 15, 2021, 03:15:44 PM
Your post not very consistent. Is high risk the problem or taking risk at all? I can guarantee you that most adult regularly take risk in their businesses but the responsible/experienced ones try to minimize risk as much as possible while working to be profitable.

So, both young and old should be well prepared to avoid taking big risk.
1514  Economy / Economics / Re: Does studying Economics in School make one to be economical or what on: July 15, 2021, 03:04:42 PM
Wonder why you ask the question.
Well, depends on what you mean by being Economical. Searched for the word on the internet and it's a bit of what I do when dealing with money, paying people for services or providing paid services to people, but I'm not sure I learnt that from school. Always felt  it's right to pay for things according to there real worth and I prefer not to spend to much on things when there are cheaper alternatives. I didn't learn that in school.
1515  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: July 15, 2021, 10:58:37 AM
The reason for the doubling of food prices is largely due to the negligence of law enforcement agencies on the other hand failure of laws food prices lack of information education and cultural influences are equally responsible for adulteration of food if the law is followed properly people will not be able to increase the price of food so much. People need to be aware of law enforcement food prices will not double if opposed.

Or just simply produce enough foods and don't hoard them. The lockdown contributed to the food inflation. If you have your local farmers locked down, food prices will likely go up, unless you heavily rely on importation. And you will need to import foods that can be sold at thesame rate or lower than local alternatives
1516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Bitcoin community a DAO? on: July 15, 2021, 10:31:54 AM

  • 1.The organizational form is a distributed autonomous organization, not a company system.
  • 2.Based on certain open and fair rules, the organization can upgrade the rules through governance.
  • 3.The incentive of the ecosystem is based on Token, and the participants of the ecosystem can obtain various Token rewards.
  • 4.Token holders jointly own the control and ownership of the organization, and can determine the development direction of the organization.

In regards to Number Four, it cannot apply in cryptocurrency network if you truely want a well Decentralized Network/system. If you base that part on Satoshi's Bitcoin standard, you will easily notice it's incompatible. Bitcoin only requires you to run full nodes to take part in proper network consensus, and any participant can determine the development direction of Bitcoin as long as he/she can solve important problems.
A truely public network is too important to be left in the hands of few people with lots of money. It's more than a company, it's actually a Nation. Requiring citizens to own huge sums of money before they can take part in governance or determine the development direction of a Nation sounds like financial corruption to me.
So a true cryptocurrency network must not require people to own huge amount of money to be able to have a say in the network. They could try that on centralized companies.
Anyone should be able to easily take part in governance/consensus for the sake of decentralization.
1517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digital EURO - What are your thoughts? on: July 15, 2021, 09:51:30 AM
I wonder if they will allow members to own their private keys, control their coins and take part in consensus. It can't be considered safest(as stated on the site) if those are not possible. And it should be well Decentralized.

Always remember who really is at the Center if the good guys are not in control or at the center.
1518  Other / Off-topic / Re: A silly question about blockchain on: July 15, 2021, 09:33:10 AM
The data is stored on thousands of computers around the world. These are the nodes. You can set up a node as well and store it.

Ofcourse.
Blockchain is like a shared Book many authors of a specific topic can contribute to. Every one of the author has a copy of the Book and anyone can contribute or add meaningful messages/data to the Book whenever they want to. Whenever someone adds something to the book, others writers with thesame copy of the book verify the message/data to make sure it's OK/right before accepting it and recording in their own copies. It's basically thesame Book and topic with over thousands of writers updating it with more data.
Blockchain operate in similar manner. It's like pages of book binded together in a book form and stored in multiple computers controlled by different people around the world. Anyone can add data to the Blockchain... once the data is approved, it's distributed accross multiple Blockchain nodes in thesame Network
1519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency bad for the environment? on: July 14, 2021, 05:21:47 PM

In fact, there are now cryptocurrencies that don't require mining at all. Some of the more sustainable options like Cardano, Ethereum and Bitgreen use ‘proof of stake’ to validate their transactions. In the proof of stake process, only validators that have ‘staked’ their coins or have already processed transactions can verify transactions and be incentivised.

There are other steps being taken to mine cryptocurrency quickly and use less energy while doing so. For example, the government in El Salvador has recently adopted Bitcoin as their legal currency on June 9, 2021. These are mined using the energy from nearby active volcanoes to promote a more sustainable process.

When other digital assets follow in these footsteps, it will lead the world of crypto to a more eco-friendly future wherein cryptocurrencies and mother nature can co-exist peacefully.

Thanks for reading. If you have some thoughts, feel free to leave a comment.

Cheers,
Karl

Well, the typical pos is definitely not a good alternative to PoW because it encourages centralization and typically requires huge amount of money from participants to have a full say on a network. Such "consensus mechanism" actually violate Satoshi Bitcoin or Blockchain principles/standards in many ways.
What we need is efficient PoW... Besides, most/all consensus mechanism are actually PoW disguised as so called or meaningless pos.
They should probably ask participants to stake other things like reputation and/or ID if they really mean well... At least most/all participants can afford that. It mustn't be money, unaffordable amount for that matter.

Proof of Work will be hard to replace in my opinion. It's the real consensus mechanism. Others sound like things coined by children.
1520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past two months bitcoin journey on: July 14, 2021, 04:30:43 PM
Interesting.
Ofcourse, it's better to invest in Bitcoin than on junk food, things that are bad for you or things you don't need. It's important to still invest what you can afford risk, so you don't get too attached to you coins. There should be other important things in life that can be profitable to you when you invest in them. Wish lots of the important things can be solved with bitcoin (decentrally) for the benefit of Bitcoin economy
