1681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still on NFT's? on: June 04, 2021, 10:10:58 AM
It's the same as the previous trend. It gains hype but after a few months of running and people have been starting to feel bored with it. that's why NFT sales going down so hard at this moment and i can say that we are heading to the end of NFT trend. You can see the history of defi and various trends in the crypto and these have the same cycle as the NFT trend.
The trend will not last forever.

The hype was part of the problems, but that doesn't mean it can't be very useful to people in the future.

I actually prefer having a project properly built to serve its purposes before you get people to start investing their hard earned money into it.   And if it doesn't have much useful uses that are worth selling to people I care about, I wouldn't bother promoting it. If I can promote it to people I care about, I can promote it to anyone.
Hope they understand how to put it into good use. When you think less about yourself and more about how to benefit others with good things, understanding will come.
1682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Insider trading groups in crypto on: June 04, 2021, 09:39:13 AM
I haven't heard of a "Insider" trading group in crypto though, yes there are a lot of trading signal groups, but to say that you have to be an insider, means that you are close to the project or at least have an insider knowledge, hence "insider trading".

In any case though, for average joe like the majority of us, this option is not viable, or at least joining a trading signal groups is not recommended because we all know how this fraudulent groups operates and mostly the admin or the people behind as the ones going to profit.

The "Insider" could also mean secretly obtaining market moving data from projects/cryptocurrencies. Some could also be selling strategies/softwares that are intentionally designed to manipulate/control the whole markets.

I think legal/moral trading system and strategy should have little to no bad side effects on the market when their users use them.
1683  Other / Off-topic / Re: Electricity, Internet and Mobile Network on: June 04, 2021, 09:14:24 AM
How do you guys relate all of this to bitcoin?

I need Electricity to Open my computer.

I need internet to check and update my investment and trading.

by those means then i know that Internet and electricity is more than connected to bitcoin.
Everyone also connected to the internet in someway, if there is a blackout or network down in certain area the whole city will stop working, but anyway with the development we still can resolve all those things as quick as possible.

By the way satellite phones can still work in the emergency situations right?

Imagine a scenario where kids and young men overwhelm barriers and things that protect society's infrastructures, and no one can easily go in and fix things. That's the kind of situation People, Nations and Crypto communities should be preparing for. You try to survive independently or with communities that are able to gather safely together to sustain themselves.
I think it's better to find a means to survive locally first,  Our regular mobile phones/devices could help in  this regard. Once a community has been safely established somewhere, you can then look for safe ways to link up with international communities
1684  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How many would be interested to have a device that encrypt directly what u type? on: June 03, 2021, 05:06:23 PM
You know what you can develop is something that Encrypt the Private Key when you have to "sweep" it from your Paper wallet to your desktop wallet.  Wink  It will be nice if someone will not be able to keylog your Private key, when you are in the process to sweep it from cold storage to your Paper Wallet.

So you can go offline when you "Copy" the Private Key, then this software encrypts it and then you go online again and it is in memory in a encrypted format and once you logged into your Online wallet and you Paste it.. it will decrypt it and insert it in the field to sweep the wallet.  Wink

It is always stressful when you have to sweep a wallet and you do not know if it can be intercepted before you are able to sweep it.  Roll Eyes

I guess it'd be safer to automatically/manually generate encrypted private keys which can be decrypted with keys you previously generated to use for safe decryption of all your future private keys that are encrypted.
You get the encrypted private keys and decrypt them automatically/manually on very secure devices or on secure physical environments.

This ^ is recommended on well decentralized system (on full node) so that no one ever knows your decryption keys
1685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Statue in Hungary on: June 03, 2021, 04:19:10 PM
The real Satoshi who doesn't seem to like public attention will probably be pricked in his heart if he sees his name attached to a public hooded statue of face that typically associated with hostile or unfriendly characters

Just wish the "Satoshis" remained unseen or a mystery, probably represented by simple numbers or figures.
1686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Green upgrade proposal on: June 03, 2021, 03:45:19 PM
Better to place more emphasis on quality of work done than how much money a voter has otherwise you'll have such "Bitcoin" easily taken over by people who have the ability to print unlimited cash, or you'll have a situation where few people with most of the money control consensus.
Satoshi voting standard requires One vote per participant  (one cpu one vote and one ip address one vote,)

Basing consensus or governance on how much money participant have in an open source public system like Bitcoin typically sounds like financial corruption to me. It's incompatible with how civilized governance/consensus system works and wouldn't encourage true decentralization.

1687  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am thinking of being a food delivery rider accepting crypto payments on: June 03, 2021, 03:00:12 PM
Congrats.
They could require it to be registered if you want to use it for the food delivery business.
It'll probably not be necessary if it's for private use only, but using it for food delivery business could be considered as public use and would require registration.

Wonder what the Xiaomi e-scooter looks like.
How do you carry customers food?
1688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Risks from large financial institutions entering the crypto market . on: June 03, 2021, 10:56:25 AM
Depends on what they want to really do with crypto.
I believe the right crypto companies should operate more like Uniswap or as non-custodial services . Holding funds for investors could make price manipulations easy for them. It's better that most/all users are able to easily and safely control their funds and use them within their respective cryptocurrencies economies.
Choose the right project/community to stick to long-term and stick with them. That's how responsible businesses/investors should operate.
1689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts about Solpad Finance on: June 03, 2021, 10:33:47 AM
I would be careful with crypto projects that don't follow strict crypto principles/standards like decentralization, transparency, security, immutablity etc. If they don't, then they need to be backed by the law of the country they are operating from. I would still be very careful even with the backing of national laws.

I just want to ask about your thoughts guys, especially those who have bought, do you think it's worth to risk on this one? I like risking, it could be said gambling but I do not like to gamble something I can't even find marketing news about them.

Thanks a lot!
In regards to part about risk and gambling, it really depends on how much risk you'll take. The problem is gambling (or taking big risk) with your funds and probably your private data.. You should minimize risk as much as possible by only investing responsibly in potentially useful crypto projects that solve very important problems uniquely without compromising on crypto standards like decentralization and security.
1690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why centralised services are "bad"™... on: June 03, 2021, 10:01:26 AM
Excerpt from the article:
Quote
We're very concerned about PayPal’s lack of transparency, and we urge them to reinstate this user’s account. Running relays for the Tor network is a daily activity for thousands of volunteers and relay associations around the world. Without them, there is no Tor—and without Tor, millions of users would not have access to the uncensored internet.https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2021/06/paypal-shuts-down-long-time-tor-supporter-no-recourse

Wish the "Uncensored Internet" means having access to the Truth and contents that are good/safe for consumers and society. And you should be able to handle the Truth and use it for society good.
I was reading through the article to understand the real reason for the censorship, and whether it's justified...didn't see much
By the way, I wonder if he is considering using other services that could offer him transparency, censorship resistant and control over his fund?

People need to be careful how much they put into the accounts of people/business that can easily run away with customers funds. Probably safer to try businesses that use mutisig to secure customers funds. If they must be used , they should be those with good track record and trustworthy admins.
Don't take big risk or gamble on exchanges or even betting sites
1691  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get respect even if you don't have money on: June 03, 2021, 09:07:39 AM
money has nothing to do with respect.

I think power commands respect.
I guess if you have lots of money but behave weak, people will probably not give you much respect.
This is part of the reasons certain rulers try to look larger than they actually are. If you properly decentralize power they will likely try to behave humble, fearing the subject instead.

To have True Power (the one from our CREATOR) you have to be humble or become servants to those you are leading. Such humble leaders always look powerless/poor and the subjects could take advantage of the humility and start disrespecting the leaders. The humble leaders are encouraged to be patient with the subjects. But, you have to be careful the humble leaders don't get too angry, if they do, the earth could shake in a ways that make the subjects quickly realize the Great Power the humble leaders have.
1692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How true is this? on: June 02, 2021, 04:46:19 PM
Proof of Work or PoW(always sounds like the more proper and general name for lots of consensus mechanisms I have heard of or seen in Crypto space. "You use your equipments/skills to participate in network consensus and get rewarded... You prove you did a good job(evidence based) and you get rewarded/rated" (Proof of Work). Now you are required to prove you own certain amount of things to take part in consensus yet it's called a consensus mechanism.
Will hopefully read about this project to see whether it really worth the publicity it gets.
1693  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin - Medium of Exchange Vs Store of Value? on: June 02, 2021, 03:56:29 PM
I my view, bitcoin will eventually become a mean of exchange, but for now it is not possible at large scale due to the block limitations and the variability in price. Most countries with hyperinflation have a tough time doing internal and external commerce, in the case of bitcoin is the opposite: it has got hyperdeflation, AKA price increases, thus its main use is store of value and honestly speaking, a mean of speculation in both long and short term.

It will eventually become a mean of exchange, even if only for large transactions.

If you had a good mechanism to regularly regulate the supply, it could end up becoming a more preferred means of exchange than fiats considering it's already a good Store of Value.
Combining that with MoE would make it more attractive to people who want to benefit from both features.

I wonder what most fiats would be like without regular Supply and Price control/regulation/interventions. They would likely all have collapsed due to hyperinflation. If Bitcoin does fairly well without those things(regular interventions, regulation), imagine what it will be like if its supply is regularly regulated in public and decentralized manner without compromising on the deflationary feature which acts as a hedge against inflation that could be caused by excessive printing of fiats
1694  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please suggest some good books/courses to start crypto TA/FA on: June 02, 2021, 03:09:22 PM
Hi, can someone please share some good books or courses to start my journey in TA/FA. I want to learn how to read charts. You can also suggest some good crypto TA/FA youtube channels. Thanks in advance.

I guess that would be easy-to-understand books/courses that teach you guaranteed strategies via TA/FA to safely earn from trading? Not sure if such exist.
From my experience, learning TA/FA complicated my learning experience until I developed my own strategies that work consistently.
If you simply want to learn how to read charts, you could search for "easy ways to read crypto trading charts" on Youtube, Google etc
1695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't believe in digital money? Well... on: June 02, 2021, 10:26:27 AM
Well, I don't think it's a good idea to abandon the physical completely for virtual/digital. Don't forget the former tend to offer better privacy and has alot of other very important advantages people seem to ignore.
I would be making sure there are improved or there are much better physical alternatives just incase it becomes difficult/dangerous/impossible to use the digital.
1696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IRS Vs Monero on: June 02, 2021, 10:11:45 AM
I actually prefer Cryptocurrencies with Transparency, Immutablity, Decentralization, and Anonymity mixed together to enable easy tracing of funds used for committing dangerous crimes.
Anonymity without Transparency, Immutablity etc will likely be abused by people hiding under anonymity to commit serious crimes.
I think Transparency, immutablity, Reputation are some of the important features that can help in achieving safe Anonymity.

Anonymity (safe Anonymity) is actually a human right.
So, Monero should help in achieving it so that it's value will be worth it.
1697  Other / Off-topic / Re: Electricity, Internet and Mobile Network on: June 02, 2021, 09:46:12 AM
I think If cryptocurrency private keys in different denominations had been safely printed and sealed on durable materials by trustworthy companies , crypto people would have been able to exchange them with one another in their community during such disasters. When the Internet, Electricity, Mobile Network are back they can then scratch off the seal to verify the keys on Global crypto Network.
Or they could use things like NFTs(in physical form esp) to find basic needs like foods, water, herbs etc in hidden locations for healing and survival.

There are countries where you find lots of people generating their own electricity, they could survive in  situations where there is breakdown of National electricity supply. And that could help them power their mobile devices and use some sort of local Blockchain/network to transact with one another. There should always be backup electricity generators just incase

1698  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How many would be interested to have a device that encrypt directly what u type? on: June 01, 2021, 03:59:21 PM
Interesting.
I have always thought about something similar for my devices.
A very simple solution to this would be to type things with normal keys but represents the matching numbers/symbols/alphabets with different things entirely, written somewhere for your receivers to decrypt.
For example:
"C" key could be represented by "&" (C=&),
 "A" represented by "+" (A=+),
 "T' represented by "#" (T=#), etc

So you have the Word "&+#" as CAT, but you initially send you receiver "&+#"or all other complete words and their corresponding cryptic translations.
This will be more suitable for sending private keys and other short keys/words for your other harmless private stuff. For security reasons, the decryptors would need to be encrypted, saved somewhere immutably before you send to your receivers.
1699  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Rebuild Our Project or STOP on: June 01, 2021, 03:12:21 PM
Wonder what they did with the money? Did they risk it on something very risky? They could easily pay you and fund the project in Bitcoin without considering the fiat value too much. Wish we have lots more people accepting and paying with Bitcoin/crypto without minding the fiat value... you could depend mostly use them to build the project.

If the project is good/useful enough, investors will still come without minding the cost too much
1700  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your favorite outdoor activity? on: June 01, 2021, 02:52:22 PM
I actually enjoy outside activities when there are very few people (unless there ar many like minded people) on the paths, otherwise it's just better for me to remain in quiet spaces.
I typically move around outside alone to think, work and recieve fresh air without distractions.
The sounds, air, human activities, etc need to be good enough for me to spend long time outside.
If outside is quieter and more gentle/pleasant than inside, I will likely spend more time outdoors
