1741  Economy / Economics / Re: The One World Currency: Is it Bitcoin? on: May 21, 2021, 04:42:02 PM
It is said that Bitcoin is the precursor of the "One World Currency" that will be used in a "One World Government". In the past, it has been predicted that a "One World Currency" would come into fruition as the current monetary system collapses in its entirety. It is today where we have Bitcoin, a Peer-to-Peer digital cash system that's decentralized, used globally by many people worldwide. Essentially, Bitcoin is a "One World Currency" although not backed by any government or trusted entity of any kind.

What do you think? Is Bitcoin the "One World Currency"? Or will another currency take its place in the future? If that happens, which currency do you think will become the "One World Currency"? Will it be the US Dollar, the Euro, or the Chinese Yuan? Do you think governments will unanimously agree to use a single currency for everything? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Smiley
In our world, even now there is no single world currency and it is unlikely that it will ever be.There have always been, are and will be conflicts between states, taking into account various political, economic, religious and other interests. Since the dollar claimed such a role, the countries of Europe united and created their own euro, China is now strengthening its yuan and wants it to be an international currency in the Asia-Pacific region, for which it is creating its digital yuan. That is, we see that states do not seek to have a single currency, they prefer to use regional currencies in international relations. However, such currencies definitely cannot be a decentralized cryptocurrency for states.

Ofcourse.
Bitcoin is a global currency and will definitely not be the only currency to exist, as long as autonomous human societies will continue to exist.
One World Currency would be centralized and imposed or forced on people by tyrants. Free society/people won't be part of such system. They will be living far away from the rest of the World.

1742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: buying crypto currencies and then travelling on: May 21, 2021, 04:18:47 PM
Before the delete, you could still have their copies stored on multiple SD cards (or written down on papers) and then encrypted.  One or few of the cards and papers could be kept back home just incase something happens to the ones you are traveling with... you can always call someone who is trustworthy to transfer the encrypted contents when you get to your destination.

People in governments are subject to Just Laws and don't have right to stop people from using good crypto. Better they encourage Safe Cryptocurrency Space and monitor it for abuse/misuse.
1743  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk of Scarcity. on: May 21, 2021, 03:28:58 PM
Due to the pandemic the demand for food products increased a lot, and certain products faced down as well which means that people stacking the food products more than what they needed due to the fear of lockdown which is what we saw exactly in 2020 in many countries.

But do these issue still exists?

The lockdown almost made people unable to work and feed properly until it was lifted early last year where I live.
I would be surprised to see people go hungry or starve with no major crisis to cause that. Lots of staple Foods produce by local farmers are pretty cheap and not lacking in supply. If you want to hear about huge inflation, hunger and starvation happening around you, listen to the News. They seem to like reporting such things even when everyone is busy working, feeding themselves and not begging for food. You see very few beggers once in a while... If you ask even those making alot of money in your presence about the economy, they'll likely tell you they need money or there is no money anywhere.

They media tend to bring hopelessness to situations and does encourage society/people to greedy, unthankful, always complaining, even those that have enough.
Bees, ants and others animals are hardly seen dying of hunger in the midst of plenty. They have been working hard and feeding themselves, why not humans?
1744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why solana need to top 5 cmc and eth competitor on: May 21, 2021, 02:50:12 PM
2025? Too long for cryptocurrencies to get things right before we have earth shaking events to test how truely decentralized they really are.
Still looking through the project to see how well it can cope on its own in a great storm that will shake the entire world.
A true cryptocurrency has to be well decentralized, with any participants able to easily run their own full nodes and take part participate in full network consensus
1745  Other / Off-topic / Re: Poll: Are you going to get Married? on: May 21, 2021, 10:40:58 AM
Better to get married at the right time to the right person that's destined for you. If you are destined not to marry, probably to focus on serving your Nation/community in holiness then you can't force it. And it's said that those who can't control their sexual desires could get married.

I actually wouldn't want to reveal my marital status for good reason.
1746  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin - Medium of Exchange Vs Store of Value? on: May 21, 2021, 10:22:46 AM
It can easily be both Medium of Exchange and Store of Value, esp if it's not always too volatile.  Ofcourse, It's not always too volatile, I wish you don't have those extreme dump at all. That could be used by adversary to cause panic.
You can safely prevent it from being too volatile by regulating the supply in decentralized manner, so that the price moves up and down in moderate fashion while being deflationary or overall limited in supply, serve as inflation hedge and a true/right Store of Value.
If this is done, nothing stop it from being a really good Medium of exchange

1747  Economy / Economics / Re: A bubble is when price is not justified on: May 21, 2021, 09:49:32 AM
What makes Bitcoin valuable to me is because it's unique, better and safer Network/System. It's also a unique system for true financial freedom. So, such system should be worth alot until we have a safe replacement that sufficiently improves on (but does not violate) the Bitcoin standards/features.
I haven't seen any yet as far as I can tell.
Besides, principled founders is also one reason I stick with bitcoin...they are not perfect though, but I havent seen great replacement yet in Crypto space full of wolves.

We need to moderate the volatility though... without compromising on the deflationary feature.

1748  Other / Off-topic / Re: [GUIDE] Getting rid of most of the EMF exposure from your home! on: May 21, 2021, 09:28:31 AM
Interesting post. I actually focused more on the part about Smart Phones ... that's what I normally have around me regularly, mostly for the internet.

Well, I'm occasionally concerned about the emf issue, so I had it as a habit to always turn off most of the wireless features, and also the internet (whenever I'm done using it). I also do it to preserve the phone battery charges. Ofcourse, It's possible that the phone still emitting the waves/ray even after doing this things , so I resort to faith and healthy living with good dose of  happiness and love. .
I noticed that it's mostly the bad foods that make me feel tired/sick during sleep and after waking up from sleep. Whenever I consume enough of healthy or good foods/things at the right way I normally feel better after sleep.

Will hopeful try your suggested experiment on sleeping with/without protected smartphone
1749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't blame Elon musk and China for the dip!!!!!!! on: May 20, 2021, 05:50:07 PM
Don't know about China, but what happened was intentional and coordinated to cause panic. The proof is all over crypto space.
If you want to attack a financial system of any country you could cause thesame panic and achieve similar results... Not everyone will have the conscience to do shameful things like that . I've seen crisis manufactured out of nowhere because people where intentionally/unintentionally spreading rumours.
Those who do such things are actually attacking millions of people who depend on the system. It's an important attack vector the crypto/Bitcoin world needs to address.

If you don't like Bitcoin/crypto, one of the best thing to do is to avoid it rather than attacking it. There are lots of other non-crypto projects you may like to participate in. I only concentrate on "Decentralization" even though Centralized ones could easily make me rich. People should choose where they want to be based on principles so they don't go about creating problems where they are not supposed to be.
1750  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Transfer of Chinese miners to Iran on: May 20, 2021, 04:29:37 PM
The sudden decline in bitcoin mining power in China prompted me to research this and came up with some interesting things. Iran and China have a long-term contract to mining bitcoins.

https://www.radiofarda.com/a/chinese-presence-iran-bitcoin-mining/31041888.html

According to the above reports, the Chinese are engaged in this activity, which requires high electricity consumption, by creating and expanding a digital currency mining farm in Rafsanjan.

With the lighting of these devices, the Iranian people have faced severe electricity shortages and many pollutions are observed in Iranian cities.
In an interview with Tejaratnews, Mohammad Reza Sharafi, a member of the Iranian Blockchain Association, asked, "If a foreign investor can be present in the country, why are there various obstacles that our own people cannot enter the field of cryptocurrency mining?"

Assuming you stop concentrating the miners at one or few locations, and rather distribute them to thousands of people across the world, you wouldn't be weighing down on nations power grids and Miners will share profit by mining together. We are using traditional economic/business model that encourages centralization rather than stick to Bitcoin/crypto model to encourage decentralization of mining.

*The screenshot post doesn't look complete. I guess it's a continuation of a main post and can't be properly understood in isolation.
1751  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk of Inflation in Economy. on: May 20, 2021, 03:49:36 PM
If the country is run by a good government that is far from corruption, then inflation rates are not supposed to reach insane levels or constitute a crisis between individuals.

The inflation crisis shows the strength of the government's financial position. Unfortunately, the poor are the ones who pay the cost because they do not have sufficient financial tools to fight inflation.

The solution to this problem lies in obtaining more tools to fight inflation, Bitcoin may be one of those tools.

In the time of choas, even the money wouldn't deliver the rich. Those living in rural areas will likely survive it without fiat money. There will be cities "secured" for people to live modern lifestyle during that time though, but at what cost? At the cost of giving up your freedom.

Well decentralized cryptocurrency/money would help those in rural areas.
1752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it still okay to fake kyc in 2021? on: May 20, 2021, 03:28:51 PM
It's actually very risky to handover your private info to strangers. And I wouldn't trust any "decentralized project" that collect private information from its users/participants in insecure and centralized manner.

As an experienced adult, I would advice you to never cheat to benefit  from something valuable (esp for selfish reason) with fake documents. else you'll be owing a debt you may be forced pay by a "ruthless blackmailer" who is likely taking secret records of your activities in the past. He likes to see people commit crimes so  he can have something against them in the future when they try to rebel against him or when he wants to use them for worst crimes.
1753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: May 20, 2021, 11:00:20 AM
It seems they encourage people to take big risk on the so called DeFi(Decentralized Finance). You can't build a project today without proper/thorough testing before allowing the public to invest what they likely can't afford to risk/lose.
I have previously suggested opening up the DeFi platform to the public so anyone can help review projects based on list of Rules/Standards/Principles that have to be followed before a project is allowed for serious usage. Hope they don't prefer the platform to be takeover and regulated by central authorities.
Bitcoin didn't start with founders requesting people to invest huge amount of money or stake to be part of the network, help secure and keep it decentralized ... it instead paid participants... so that they risk less during its early stage and people probably began to put in money above sensible limits over time as security improves
1754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is heartbreaking on: May 20, 2021, 10:27:08 AM
I decided to check out coinmarketcap.com/new today for any new listed projects but what I saw is heartbreaking, many people are just creating versions of their own meme coins over and over...

Well, the site shouldn't be making it easy for people doing this to scam people and spam crypto space with substandard projects. There will always be copy cats who will take advantage of a situation to become rich, rather than creating something useful and safe for people. Sites should make it difficult for them to be exposed to the public just like that . You'll need to pass certain Cryptocurrency Standards before your project can be visible to the public for serious use.
1755  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientists' appeal to the crypto community - the creation of new technologies on: May 20, 2021, 10:09:13 AM
I guess if this came with Proof of Concept It might convince those you are trying to partner with . Things like that would sound unbelievable to people who do not understand what you are explaining but know what you are trying achieve.

It probably should be explained bit  by bit and clearly on this thread so that people would know whether its feasible or not. Not interested in landing on planets though, just traveling within this world and for other possible applications.
1756  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin for everyone on: May 20, 2021, 09:18:34 AM
A different idea could be to make a compelete new coin and everybody gets one. The number of coins is fixed with exactly the number of people on the earth when it is created. For showing your passport everybody can claim exactly 1 coin. So every coin would be given away for free and then they can be traded on the the big exchanges. It is hard to imagine what would happen, but I would expect that many people would instantly sell their coin for some free money. So the initial price would be very low. But once the initial coins are sold I would expect the price to rise.

For people to keep coming back for more i think such coin would need to be purpose driven, solve real problems uniquely, have dedicated/principled team, stick to true crypto ideals,  has to be be really useful , easy-to-use and safe.... And the value/price has to be dependent on solving this^ problems without compromising on safety.. . otherwise anyone can easily create his/her own coins, pump the price to decieve people.

1757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Been left with my late uncle's crypto accounts - need some advice on: May 19, 2021, 05:32:39 PM
Hi all,

Can someone kindly advise? I am at a standstill and would really appreciate some guidance with it?

My uncle recently passed away from cancer and had invested in crypto currency. We were very close over the last few years and his wishes were for me to have his collection after he died. He was of sound mind. We discussed it regularly. I cared for him over the last years. He had no children of his own. We last spoke while he was in hospital and he brought up the crypto and told me to get the details and i was still to access it and carry on with it.  I have an audio of this last discussion between himself and me.

When he did pass away, i was able to collect his belongings etc and we have gathered so much information of websites, passwords and keys etc. I do remember he came to my house to show me how to gain access to one of the websites and i know he had a phone and tablet and a nano key when he visited (which i retrieved) but the phone he used is broken and had a protected image security that we cant work out. I do have the secret codes he told me about but i think I am having trouble accessing the 2FA.  He would be gutted if this know this would be destroyed.
Im truthfully not sure what to do.

Many thanks in advance

I guess the "details" (at the bold part) are keys that transfer ownership of the crypto to you?

I think it's better to get help from the police, and probably his sblings/family. They could  help you search his personal stuff more throughly considering you said you recorded his last audio conversation with you when he transfered ownership of his assets to you, right? That should encourage them to help, if it's good enough.
I think it's better they give you the right to search other private places your uncle didn't authorize you to search, where he may have stored duplicate of secret keys, codes, passwords, etc to his assets.

Not a good idea to give you idea for recovering the keys to the assets without having the right people go through the evidences you have that proves he  transferred the stuff to you.
1758  Other / Off-topic / Re: The best time to plan out your day on: May 19, 2021, 04:38:45 PM
I believe the best time to plan is in the night before the day break.

One of the most important factor of kick starting a productive day is knowing what your priorities are the moment you open your eyes.

By having a outline of what you want to accomplish, you can get straight to work

Without this, you'll likely having a very relaxed start to the day while you are try and get around to actually deciding what you want to do. Losing your Potential to start the day running

Leaving a notepad near your bed, and build a habit of writing down small list of priorities to tackle when you wake up the next day

Watch how much easier it will be to become laser focused on your goals, when you know they're waiting for you the moment you wake up

I like the part about jotting down things that need to be done in the future. Worked for me alot while I was growing up... These days, I worry about the private info getting read by untrustworthy things/people, so I store them in my head the way they can easily be remembered.
1759  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrencies are not linked to the policies or the economy of any country. on: May 19, 2021, 04:15:55 PM
Ofcourse. Not the kind cryptocurrency "Mining power" that requires people to have lots of "gold" to mine gold or mine more gold... like PoS.
Mining just with your computer or mining hardware should be enough.   If you could somehow have mining pools that encourage participants to mine with any kind of device, you will probably need to focus their cpu on solving other problems on the Bitcoin Network to earn rewards when mining difficult is high, and automatically/occasionally switch others back to mining Bitcoin together when mining difficult suddenly collapse, probably due to mining censorship in other countries. Proper Mining decentralization should be encouraged by all means to protect from mining censorship and other attacks.
Your device is enough to give you the power esp to encourage real network decentralization

1760  Economy / Economics / Re: A Better Gold Play Than Gold ETFs on: May 19, 2021, 03:19:08 PM
Interesting how the extraction of gold can still be done by regular people.
I have seen people extract gold or other natural resources in some countries in similar manner, and they have to work really hard to extract it... It cost lots of energy (whether inform of  natural energy used by humans or those used by machines).... And then certain people might notice it's profitable to mine and get huge mining equipments that use alot more energy concentrated on the area and gold becomes difficult and more competitive for regular miners to find. This is abit similar to what happened/happens to Bitcoin mining.  I wish smaller miners continued to be profitable in order to keep mining decentralized.

If the heat generated from the mining is put into good use like satoshi wanted(like heat from miners used for heating homes in cold weather) , the energy would have been used more efficiently. Things like that need to have multiple uses... more like solving multiple problems with thesame equipment
