Just tested it by sending a message to someone from Reddit. They must not be on though, no reply. My understanding is that eventually, if he does not reply the message vanishes?

I believe so, but then it retries every few days - think I read that somewhere. You don't have to send the test message to an actual person. There is an echo server or the like that I saw on the instruction page. Just send it to that and you should get a reply in 4 minutes or the like.

Anyone know if upgrading, which I did from 5Gh - 7Gh)  pushes you back in the que? I would think not...

Answer - Upgrading does not appear to push anyone back (with intention) in the que. I say it that way as the upgraded units might be using newer chips which are not yet delivered. So, there
might be a short delay, think they mentioned those chips arrive in July. I pulled that from another thread. Not sure though.
2363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Link - Was on #2 Online Radio Talk Show for 30 mins and talked about BITCOINS!!! on: June 09, 2013, 09:06:34 AM
Just listened to the segment. That was a nice job! You made excellent points, and I liked that you didn't make it all about the money, but about breaking away from the powers trying to control us.

Every radio show that knows what's really going on needs to get that kind of info.

In the moment of starting my mind went blank but then I came back down to earth and could think again.
I think calling in now and again just gets the word out there, and as you said that I said ( Wink) it isn't all about the money. People can connect to that, as well as there being a monetary benefit in the future.
2364  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Astrology Reading Audio File on: June 08, 2013, 07:56:06 PM
wanted to give this a try - but at 1:30 already is he referring to pluto as a planet?? pluto was ruled as a dwarf planet in 2006 and is clearly not a planet. sorry.

In addition to what Otoh said, Pluto in astrology is one of the most POWERFUL planets out there. Evolutionary Astrology, which I am very familiar with, puts it at the center. I wouldn't try to use normal physics (e.g. - planet size) to explain astrology.

Don't let the size fool you.  Wink
2365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Astrology Reading Audio File on: June 08, 2013, 07:27:41 PM
My bad, was influenced by the prior "wise" comment.

All I have written down is what Sommer sent me from the 2nd part. I think there is a lot of truth to it, outside of the astrological interpretation. You should give the first one a listen though, it (they) are short.

Chiron:

With Chiron in the 7th with Neptune, it shows a general naivety, or innocene in the ways in which it presents itself to the world.  I'm not sure how many attempts there has been with the actualization of Bitcoin, or how many revamps of the company's presentation has been made, but this is where the journey starts.  Through a series of trails and tribulations, the perfect--or ideal--marketing strategy and image will reveal itself.

Lilith:

Being with Pluto in the 5th house, I feel that this aspect speaks straight into the heart of needing to create some sort of Legacy.  The Lilith both shows the powerful and wild potential here, but it also shows the tendacy to fall into guised intentions from forces outside of itself.  "the woman with the Red dress."  Don't fall for seductive offers.  Something like this.

The Uranus Saturn opposition is in most peoples minds - many focus on it. But what about the benefits of "working this out"?

Saturn in the 2nd house constricts and creates a very conservative approach to ones resources. This is great in relation to the opposition of Uranus in a few ways; 1. If you were to treat this aspect/chart as an entity, it shows lots of ups and downs in the history  of this entity.  Probably from taking lots of chances and having  its fair share of big gains (Uranus) and big loss (Saturn).  With Chiron transiting towards that Uranus in the eighth, it is my guess that something traumatic may happen, then a swing in the opposite direction, because of the lesson being learned.  Pray that Chiron heals the opposition and brings Bitcoin into Mastery!

Venus:

Exalted at 0 degrees, it shows the ultimate dream in its infancy.  Be careful of being over idealistic.  The Dream needs to happen slowly.  This is perhaps why Saturn is in the 2nd house.  The essential need of this Venus is to dream big and be content with what shows up.  Never stop attempting to manifest the craziest dreams.

Mars:

With the Sun in the 6th house, this is an Exalted Mars as well.  Both Venus and Mars.  Capricorn shows a powerful Will, that can change the world.  It wants to do this.  It just needs to learn patience.  Patience is everything here.  Waiting for the Piscean dreams to manifest, and to not lose the way because of the darkened thoughts of Saturn in the 2nd.

Moon in 9th - Where is Bitcoin comfortable and such

An Aries moOn in the 9th house means that it is comfortable exploring new territory.  To be a leader in a new field, spearheading in the world of alternative currencies and the like.  It is very important not to get out of control though.  An Aries moon is prone to making many mistakes for its impulsiveness.  Whats interesting though, is that the ruler of this Moon in Mars in Capricorn, which brings a great power to this Moon. But they are square…..meaning much friction is created between the two.  Compromise needs to be had between the Moon's comfort zone in leadership and Mars' desire for Service.  The question is: How to be an avant-garde leader while working with others and being of great service with the rest of the world.

Pluto  square moon - considering above

This weaves into what I said above, because Mars is conjunct this Pluto.  Gives a little bit more intensity and tells me it is the Soul intention of Bitcoin; to learn how to be a selfless collaborator in this field, cooperating and being of great service to the entire world! =)

Can somebody TL;DR this?

Two points:
1 - You don't have to read anything, it is an audio file.
2 - You have 20 posts...

Just to let the other Mac OS guys know, I was able to install everything in the link Rampion gave, without errors. But, the Bitmessage client kept giving the message "bitmessagemain quit unexpectedly". There is a HUGE details file listed. But, if anyone would like to help, just pm me.

Thx anyway Rampion, maybe we'll get it worked out,

I'd love to join in with Bitmessage.
But, has anyone made an install file (.dmg) for Mac yet?

Compile it, bro. I will do it. Can show you if you wish Wink

I'll try the link you posted. Thx!
(I would have tried sooner but had read there were problems compiling, but it looks like they might have worked those out...)

The failure to take into consideration the Andromeda alignment in this chart makes it completely worthless.  Have fun losing your bitcoins.

Here is an audio astrology reading (2 parts) for Bitcoin that me and Otoh paid for: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=213042.new#new
It is for fun and really spot on imo with the way BTC should proceed.

Something to consider is that no matter how far out something may be to you (e.g. astrology!) there is an audience out there that might appreciate it and then that gets more eyes on BTC . Networking...

Here is part II of the reading, enjoy: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0Yof4QTY_z8SkdiTmw0UHkxZXc/edit

vokain - Tough question. I would say to listen to some online podcasts (if you search you can find some that are educational I would think). I learned at first by picking up a few small and concise books. You can also get some free software to give you another perspective. It really takes time is the main point and there are so many avenues you can go down along the way. You can of course use your personal chart and those close to you to better make sense of what you are learning. Hope that was a bit helpful.

2372  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Jalapeno hashing 5.9 GH/s @ 30 Watts...! on: June 08, 2013, 04:58:05 PM
Nice,
Someone tested MinePeon?
anyone know if MinePeon is accually tested with bfl asics by anyone that is not mineForeman?

I am running Minepeon with a BFL 5 GH/s ASIC, running fine, 27 hours NO restarts. I am using a powered USB hub between the RPi & the ASIC as recommended.

I thought if you were just running 1 Jalapeno off your RPi that you could just plug it in to the USB port directly?
Links?
2373  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Jalapeno Raspberry Pi @ 36 Watts - Delicious! on: June 08, 2013, 12:56:07 PM
What a great idea with the Jalapeno! I have a Jalapeno on order and need to order a Raspberry PI to get on the learning process.

Is there any documentation on how to set up the Raspberry PI for this? I note this one site for setting up the OS - Minepeon : http://mineforeman.com/minepeon/
Would this be the easiest OS for the PI?

I have questions like:
How does the PI connect to your mining pool as it is all command line based, yes? (Do you set up an account and then manually enter the settings of the account into the PI???)
How easy is it to control the PI from your computer via your router?

Input guys would be greatly appreciated for those of us without a ton of computer experience.

Ive not used Minepeon, i just use a striped down version of Raspbian. Seemed pretty straightforward to me, but then ive been using linux for a very long time.. I never hooked a monitor/keyboard to my pi, ever. Only use ssh to set it up.

From what i read here on the forums is that most non-linux native people use Minepeon and are happy with it.

Thanks, I didn't know there where other OS's to use on the PI for "mining". Do you know about the advantages/disadvantages to each? (I do have a strong linux background but got out of it due to a career change years ago, so am a bit wet behind the ears.) I guess, what is the easiest for someone without the tech background anymore? (But I'm able to follow instructions of course).

Can you add to my questions in my original reply above?

Thanks for the start,
IAS

I was on a radio show and got to talk about Bitcoins a few days ago.

2375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Link - Was on #2 Online Radio Talk Show for 30 mins and talked about BITCOINS!!! on: June 08, 2013, 12:51:19 PM
Well, this is just my part in trying to educate people out there about BTC. I enjoy to sometimes listen to "Strange Universe" with Sean David Morton and so I thought to call into his radio show and see if I could talk some BTC, since he seems to mention it often enough and likes it. The "segment" was over 30 minutes long.

Understand, the show is entertainment, so it wasn't quite the techy perspective (orderly, detailed, etc.) that we may be used to. But, I spoke from the heart, got better as time went on as I was a bit nervous at the start and got flowing as things went along.

Sean made some big blunders when he was talking about Bitcoin (while I was cut off and had to dial back in). He got the float wrong (which I corrected later) but also talked about Bitcoin starting on the XBox??? LOL and some other wrong points (so don't mind the first part so much while I was off the air).

Anyway, the tech community knows about BTC but the average Joe out there doesn't know much and so I thought to try to change that. I think thousands of people learned a little bit more and hopefully I touched some areas that many people can relate to. So, I'd appreciate if you listen and give me some feedback as well as some ideas for the next time I call in. (I think he likes me! ehhehe).

Enjoy the show, here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvtMabDHQUY&list=UU4qEAWgw_TY9ITV9gsjbPeg&index=15
I first came on at the 35:20 mark or so but was cut off. Then I was back on at the 41:30 mark or so and it went on till 1:08. (That part was way more meaningful imo.)

Looks like the bulls have absolutely thrown in the towel.  Everybody is a bear now.

I have to say the chart doesn't look good and I have been worried since the low volume sideways movement. But the one part that is über strange to me is the volume on the down leg. It is on the low side.
I don't feel good selling into a movement down on low volume. Seems like a trap, not in a conspirational sort of a way, just the conditions I guess.

My life won't change should we have a mini crash and I'm trying to save some scraps to purchase more should we have what looks like a bottom.
2377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 08, 2013, 12:27:35 PM
People who went "all in" at 50 do care.

I'm all in and I don't give a shit. I will fall and raise with BTC  Wink

Ideology is clouding your judgment.  Selling high and buying more of what you believe in lower, is a smarter move.

In fairness, I believe he sold 20% off as he saw this down move coming...

Oh, I was just commenting on the one statement.  Who rides it down, when they could sell and buy back more?  Then again, to each his/her own.  How's that for alter ego.   Grin

Ah, my bad. As far as your alter ego, it is confusing me as time goes on. The last few days you showed your human side and actually seemed to be supporting BTC while it went down??? (Who are you and what have you done with Coinseeker?) There is still hope for you! I'm waiting for your inspirational side.
But, good news, we are seemingly all getting along better here.

Ok , I won't get it and I refuse to undestrand why bitcoin price has to go down in order to bounce back to 110+.

Second. I refuse to undestand how some of you can preach is a store of value when you expect it's value to halve in one- two weeks time.

Dude... it has only been above 30 for three months now.  Unless you bought in the middle of a hype cycle you have at least tripled your money at these prices.  However, I'm guessing based on your posts that you in fact did buy during the hype cycle.  Don't worry... in 6 months to a year we'll have another one.  Zoom the fuck out and relax.

+1

Maybe he prefers a store of value that prints another 85,000,000,000 more "units" per month.  Wink
2380  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BFL is shipping on: June 08, 2013, 11:55:26 AM

Errrh? If you ordered the 22'th, but did not pay until the 30'th, your order is shipped with the other ones paid the 30'th.
That's right. So it's best if you pay when you order.

Of course, what would otherwise keep people from ordering and not paying for months, then just paying when things look good? It is protection for those of us who paid.

Anyone know if upgrading, which I did from 5Gh - 7Gh)  pushes you back in the que? I would think not...
