2381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there people here from 2013 who are not millionaires now? on: June 06, 2017, 02:09:49 AM
I do not know if many members are millionaires even if they have been in bitcoin for that long, if you bought bitcoin for a dollar and then bitcoin raises to 20 dollars would you not be tempted to sell? Because I think that almost any person with blood in his veins will consider selling and get that many profits, only those that were real believers on bitcoin have hold for so long.
2382  Economy / Speculation / Re: What we are experiencing right now is the norm on: June 06, 2017, 02:06:20 AM
There is nothing similar to the things happening in relevance to the seasonal change. With bitcoin everything happens depending on the demand to the supply market. These days the more and more investment as well users were getting into bitcoin usage. This increases the requirement, but due to the calculated availability the demand causes a price surge. In the past the price dump took place when the inflow was quite not stable due to the Chinese exchanges. Once Japan entered everything went good along with increasing price.

^^This

Bitcoin does not have seasonal price fluctuations. It may have behaved the way you are describing last year but it is not more likely to behave that way this year. Furthermore, the price is not remotely stable right now... it is flying all over the place like crazy every day. It is stable compared to last week but it is still a ridiculously unstable investment.
This is not entirely true for some time many have noticed that bitcoin has a tendency to go up before the end of the year around December, and to be honest I have never read a good explanation of why this may be the case, except that this is a pattern that we have seen happening a few times already, but I agree partially regarding the fact that bitcoin is really unstable but it does not seem like it is going to go down, to me it gives the impression the price is going to go up once again.
2383  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-2] 3 reasons why bitcoin’s surge may not be a bubble on: June 06, 2017, 02:01:09 AM
Those three points are some of the most important, but also there are some others that while may not be as popular are very important, for example the 21 million cap plays a major role since the amount of bitcoin that there is ever going to be is known from the beginning and it is very unlikely this is going to change, so people know they are buying something that is scarce.
2384  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Purchases on: June 06, 2017, 01:56:22 AM
I have some bitcoins and found a secure way to keep them. What do I do with them now?
If you are not in any hurry to spend the coins, and you are not in any economic trouble then probably the best thing you can do now is to just keep those coins and wait for the price to increase, bitcoin is one of the best investments in the world at the moment and it is obvious that things are only going to get better so there is no point into trying to get rid of such an amazing currency.

I have updated my signature as well, it looks slightly different but not much.
2386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Reason Bitcoin will always be #1 on: June 05, 2017, 05:56:09 AM
Bitcoin is the first of cryptocurrency, I think the reason bitcoin will always be #1 because another cryptocurrency, fact that altcoin use and accept bitcoin when ICO, so the price will increase, and this year is many ICO: https://tokenmarket.net/ico-calendar and of course use bitcoin.
Being the first gives you and advantage but it does not guarantee your success, you need to keep innovating or you are going to be left behind, just look at the betamax vs vhs, or myspace vs facebook, there are many instances of the first technology being replaced by something better even when it had such a head start, so bitcoin needs to keep improving if we want bitcoin to retain that position.
2387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS TRAVELING PLACES!!! on: June 05, 2017, 05:44:02 AM
Just can't imagined how come others want bitcoin to replaced banking industry or directly the fiat currencies.

Ok there are negative banks issue generally but not as a whole. Diidn't they know that banking industry helps people in many ways? Can bitcoin do all banks can do? Of course not since it's a currency so I will transfer the concern to bitcoin exchanges or institutions. It's really good that bitcoin increases it price over time but to think that bitcoin will overtake all currencies is too much. Just take advantage of what we have today.
There are several reasons why some may want that, the first reason is out of self interest, people want bitcoin to become adopted simply because that means we are going to benefit economically out of it, the second reason is that some don’t like banks at all and while banks are useful one of the problems, is that banks have taken over the economy and the governments and they see bitcoin as a way to erase that.
2388  Economy / Economics / Re: High volatility and sudden crashes will kill bitcoin, unless... on: June 05, 2017, 05:39:59 AM
Crashes like this are just mild compared to what have been witnessed in the past which in the real  sense does not kill bitcoin rather makes it come back stronger and more popular. To me, I see the crashes as lessons to both outsiders and those in the know that bitcoin is not a quick rich scheme that will just continue to increase like that but a little set back for us to go back to the drawing table and set our priorities right.
Correct, in fact I have some problems calling the reduction in price we got a crash at all, bitcoin even at the lowest did not go below the previous level, it only went as low as 1900 so that was not a crash at all that was just the market trying to find the price of bitcoin and the ups and downs were nothing but a signal the market was having some issues to find the right price
2389  Other / Off-topic / Re: Young people should go all in on bitcoin on: June 04, 2017, 02:19:12 AM
Forget about everything else and just put everything on bitcoin. You are living with your parents, they pay everything for you, you got nothing to lose. If I was living with my parents, I would save everything and buy bitcoin monthly. If BTC doesn't keep rising you can still reach the 21 BTC holder group, then save this and retire in 10 years when the price makes you a millionaire.

Go all in on regret later. You are on a privileged position to profit from high risk high reward moves. No risk no win, and BTC is the best long term high risk bet.
You seem to be marketing this ideas to those that still live with their parents, so either they are unemployed or are students and most of the time a person like that is not going to get a lot of money to spare even if that person is living in the first world, I think I will direct this advice to those that already have jobs that way they can retire early.
2390  Economy / Speculation / Re: Took just 3 months to double in price. Bubble!!!!! on: June 04, 2017, 02:14:47 AM
The price was average around $1,000 around February. The momentum seems to be only picking up. The bubble has a long way to go. Who thinks we will see $3k? $5k??
It is not necessary a bubble, what I mean is, yes the price went up very fast but if it was a bubble the price should have gotten a lot lower and it did not, this tells me this was real growth but it needed a correction, the correction happen already and we are still above the 2000 mark and I think we are going to be there for some time until a new rally happens once again and we finally break the 3000 barrier that we were so close to break.
The price surge over the past few months has caught a lot of people by surprise and some can't be blamed for thinking that at some point this is going to correct to more realistic levels. But bitcoin has been going on a rampage lately, largely due to higher demands from Japan and South Korea, so if the demand is there, the price is sure to reach new highs. And also, the price is still in the range predicted by some experts and still on track to hit $5,000 or $6,000 by the end of 2017.

I think 5,000 up to 6,000 is pretty huge price to reach on this year remember we are almost in middle of the year so its truly impossible to reach on that price for now since price for this rate is quite stable, Maybe on next following years we can see that price would climb for that far and surely we will be happy if that things would really came.
I also think that prediction is also on the high side, but bitcoin keeps giving us surprises, to be honest I expect to see a price of 3500 or 4000 at the end of the year but if something really good happened then the sky could be the limit, so like always we must take this opportunity to buy even more bitcoin since we do not know for how long the price is going to remain at this price.
2391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is declining as top crypto currency. Why? on: June 04, 2017, 02:11:18 AM
Other altcoins may have greater benefits than bitcoin. Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency, and it's not flawless. I think the main reason today is due to the large fees. Maybe because how you can trace any transaction as well. Bitcoin is actually getting old, believe it or not. The blockchain is getting stupidly big too.
Correct bitcoin has two main advantages over any other altcoin, is the first coin of its type and the popularity, bitcoin is not perfect it has its own shares of problems but the issue is that those problems are not getting resolved, while in other coins those problems are getting solved and are able to move forward, bitcoin at the moment seems to be paralyzed due to political and internal conflicts.
2392  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Would Using a VPN Allow People to Access BTC Services Outside Their Country? on: June 04, 2017, 02:03:25 AM
...

I signed up not too long ago with a VPN that allows me to choose from servers in quite a few countries.  As I write, I am now connected to France (not my own country).  I noticed at blockchain.info an ad popped up asking me if I would like to buy BTC with a credit/debit card.  Alas, the transaction was declined, possibly because my debit card is not from the EU...

Does using a VPN allow one to access services like gambling sites or perhaps less picky BTC selling sites for debit cards?

Thanks mucho for any answers to the "newb-style" question.
I don’t think that will work because a VPN has a limited amount of ips, so it will be very easy to get those ips blacklisted, also if someone did something wrong with that ip then you could be the one facing the consequences since they may believe it is you the one doing something wrong since you have the very same ip.
2393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 7 years ago... you could have earned almost $15,000 at today's value in 3 sec... on: June 04, 2017, 01:59:51 AM
Even though there is a temptation of solving the captcha on that archives page, we all know that it will not work anymore. Anyways, it's nice to see the growth of bitcoin and looking back it feels a little bit guilty for not jumping in earlier. However, I am sure that we will be laughing at my this reply when we will read it after 5 or 10 years. I believe that we are still in the early stage and bitcoin is yet to show it's real potential.
Maybe in ten years we will be like, I should have busted myself claiming from faucets ten years ago, but at the same time that will be a very risky bet, since at this time it is better to just get a job and buy bitcoin instead, so instead of trying to claim from faucets we should get a second job and buy as much bitcoin as we can in order to benefit from it in the future.
2394  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Reason to Hold Gold And Bitcoin on: June 04, 2017, 01:56:02 AM
gold is rare in your earth but some imaginary thoughts will be like we find a planet made up of gold anyway bitcoin is being found daily by miners and gold Is being mined by at extremely low rate than bitcoin. bitcoin has surpassed gold's price scale and now its at double higher that gold which makes it more harder to buy and a high risk of being crash, as with gold we are not actually being worried about any crash

Both Gold and bitcoin have their own advantages and strength and that is why their price is increasing. But if we compared the value of gold to bitcoin , bitcoins value is rising faster than gold due to the limited supply and the fast increase rate of the number of users. While gold has more supply and that is why the increase in value is not so fast but rather it is stable. But holding both bitcoin and gold is the best investment that we can do today.
I think other reason the price of gold has not gone up is simply because the market cap of gold is enormous so it is very difficult for the price to move, while in comparison the market cap of bitcoin is still very small compared to the market cap of gold, this is why we must hold our bitcoin, if bitcoin ever reaches even the 1% of the gold market cap I think bitcoin will have a value of 50k.

2396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Live] NVO Decentralized Exchange | Multi Wallet 🌟 Escrows 🌟 on: June 02, 2017, 03:46:05 AM
That's good to be a part of the successful campaign which is completely based on the decentralized platform and functioning in an effective manner just based on the support from the investors and the early bonus for the investors is quite good to make a big profit after the crowdsale.
While the idea is not new, a decentralized exchange, if they can improve upon the execution of the idea then this is bound to be a huge success I hate to have so many wallets and to have to remember all those passwords, so an exchange is a good option but I have always been fearful of exchanges, but a decentralized exchange seems like the best we can get and I wish for the success of this project.
2397  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin investing on: June 02, 2017, 03:14:24 AM
I do agree with other guys too and I think it is more reasonable to buy and hold bitcoin, please keep in mind there is not any regulation about bitcoin and it makes mutual funding more complicated

Yeah no regulation on bitcoin just yet.

As soon as with the whole nasdaq wanting bitcoin and people see more as a investment tool, then its going to be taxed one way or the other similar to bonds and stocks.
Depending on your jurisdiction you must pay taxes already, since any gains you made are taxable, unless you live in a country that does not tax earnings like that, I think countries are going to make their laws more clear when it comes to cryptocurrency in order to try to force people to pay, but make no mistake you should consult a tax attorney and consult him about what taxes you are due.
2398  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin for all levels of society, without any difference on: June 02, 2017, 03:09:13 AM
Bitcoin is decentralized so that whoever you are from wherever you are rich or poor, you are free to use bitcoin for any purpose. Bitcoin is freely used for anyone. anywhere

What is your response with this opinion?
In theory bitcoin can be used by everyone, but when we take into account the fees of confirming a transaction then something different comes to my mind, while the fess may not seem that high if you live in a first world country, for someone living in the third world the fees can mean several hours of work so for them bitcoin is not a very effective way to move their money around.
2399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is still delusional enough to think miners want to scale? on: June 02, 2017, 03:03:58 AM
If you still believe that miners want to willingly lower their fees in order to scale the network you are out of your mind.

They know there will always be problems. The only way out is to force them via UASF. This may trigger an activation by the current BIP, simply activate it by signaling for segwit.

If not, UASF will be it. Take it or leave it, no other way out.
I’m not defending the miners, but if you have so much money invested in bitcoin and the hardware to mine, then it makes sense they are trying to get the most earnings out of it, I think eventually the miners will agree to segwit if they believe it that scaling the network will bring them a greater economic reward than to keep the network small, but for that we will need adoption in a major scale.
2400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to BTC/Alts when stock market crashes? on: June 02, 2017, 02:45:01 AM
What i really think is that people might find bitcoin as an alternative currency and will start investing in it and in the event of a crash in stock exchanges people could always have an alternative which is really good ,only recently we saw big money coming into bitcoin and i hope the trend continues.
This already happen I think in places like Argentina and Venezuela where people decide to use bitcoin as a way to store the value of their money due to the great devaluation they were suffering through the mismanagement of the governments of the economy of those countries, however this was mostly a local event, I do not know what will happen if this becomes global.
