1441  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: January 04, 2018, 07:42:50 PM
Bitcoin will still be very popular even without the volatility people will just do what they do in the forex market, they will just use a lot of leverage on their trades and that increases their profits and losses accordingly, right now in crypto you do not need to use leverage with bitcoin moving thousands of dollars in one direction or the other and altcoins pumping 300% in a matter of hours.
1442  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Will Change Everything on: January 04, 2018, 06:38:39 PM
We are entering in the new type of economy where price predictions are not possible any more because productivity and prosperity of humanity will rise to the new golden age level. Bitcoin will go to 1 million dollars in 2018 and is being used by central banks as a global stardard ledger - dollar will fade slowly those who buy now will become the new wealthy elite.
I agree on you.. People will have economic freedom and be able to control their own investments. The era  of currency is in our hands..
Revolutions never happen that easily, while I do not expect to see blood on the street you need to be prepared for all kind of attacks against bitcoin, when the industrial age came people that were artisans and that made stuff were deeply against it, since their wages went down and the amount of work went up, banks are not going to give up their earnings just because someone, somewhere had a great idea.
1443  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crash on: January 04, 2018, 03:26:49 AM
Has the Bitcoin crash just started?
No, people talk so much about possible crashes that it seems that is what they want, the price of bitcoin needed a correction and since the price increase was monumental the price correction needed to be big as well, that is not a crash that is just bitcoin doing bitcoin things, as you can see we are back at the healthy price of 15k which is not bad if we take into account everything that happened.
1444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: January 04, 2018, 12:00:59 AM
Some countries don't support bitcoin because they don't get taxes from it and they recognized it as an illegal way to get money.
They can get taxes out of it, can you imagine the amount of money they can make if they regulate exchanges, the amount that exchanges need to pay, the amount that traders need to pay, the problem is that they will make bitcoin seem as approved and they do not want that, since that will mean that everyone could invest in bitcoin and feel safe they are not going to be scammed since governments will need to begin to regulate exchanges as well.
1445  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: January 03, 2018, 08:54:49 PM
If there is only one cryptocurrency in the world then it would be not matter but it is acutally not. So it does matter.
Even in an scenario where there is only one cryptocurrency the price will matter since most of the people when thinking about the price of bitcoin they think of its price against the dollar, and that tell to us a lot of where we stand, when the price was very low that meant people did not believed in bitcoin, but now that the price is very high it seems people all over the world have high expectations for bitcoin and its future.
1446  Economy / Economics / Re: short term investment or long term invesetment on: January 03, 2018, 07:14:39 PM
I prefer to make short-term investments because it will get faster results while long-term investment will take longer to get the results although the benefits are certainly more with the long term but I include people who can not wait too long.
Short term trading is going to get you faster results that is correct but you do not know what results you are going to get, and that is something most of people do not expect, you can get very good results if things go your way but you can get terrible results as well if the coin you selected falls of the cliff while other investments are doing great that is why long term investment is a superior way of investing.
1447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Make Money in Crypto on: January 02, 2018, 02:22:15 AM
Hi. The fastest way is trading ( but you can loose it all by getting scammed or make a bad trade). Buy bitcoin, exchange for altcoin and hope it rises. You can also do ICOs (if you do your research)

Cheers
That is the fastest way but that does not mean that everyone is looking for earning bitcoin as fast as they can, trading is one of those activities that can generate a lot of money but that isrisky, so I think one of the best ways to make money is to simply offer your products and services in forums like these, at first you are not going to earn much but if you are good at what you do the money will start flowing.
But still Trading is the best way to be able to bring in a lot of money, by trading then we can get unlimited income. In fact most people can earn a stable income when they focus on trading. I am one of the people who believe in Trading, so Trading has given me a much better life. Because Trading I can get a remarkable income.
You cannot get an unlimited income with trading if that was possible then everyone will be rich already and we know that is not the case, in fact most people become losers when they trade since it is not inactivity that is easy and taking into account that every single trader has only one goal in mind and that is to make money, and when you add the fees into the equation you realize that making money in trading is not as easy as people think.
1448  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins Next Stop $50,000 on: January 02, 2018, 01:01:06 AM
The title is a bit silly really, it suggests that bitcoin will have its next period of stability around 50k, that means that we will pump all the way from 13k to 50k without experiencing any stability, I don't think such a period of pumping can happen now. from 1.3k to 5k it didn't even happen and that was a much smaller increase in terms of real value despite being the same in percentage terms.
Bitcoin price will be 100,000 end of this year(2018)
50.000 is very small amount.
And you base that on what? Bitcoin can grow to that amount we all know that but the issue is if it is going to do it in a single year and I find that difficult to believe, just because we had a very good year it does not mean we are going to have another one of those, what if the next year is a bad one and bitcoin losses value, many people will sell their bitcoin for a bad price only to regret it later.
1449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum on: January 01, 2018, 08:23:54 PM
Bitcoin is a no-brainer if they get their transaction fees sorted out. Otherwise, Ethereum. Good luck!

That is a big if but the way I like to view it is that Bitcoin will have a 5-6x next year perhaps whereas ETH could easily have a 10x next year. Neither could end up happening of course but the upside seems to be bigger with ETH. However, the trust seems to be on BTC side so pick your poison. More risk in ETH but also more reward which counteracts that risk.
I do not know if ethereum has the potential to grow that much, Ethereum is already huge, right now is the third spot in the market cap and while it may grow faster than bitcoin right now I do not see a huge advantage of investing in Ethereum instead of bitcoin, you get a lot more risk for not that many profits,  I will personally invest in coins that are under a billion dollars.
1450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 1k USD in which coin? on: January 01, 2018, 07:03:46 PM
hi guys i just want to put 1k in one coin and narrowed it down to the below after much research

ITC https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/iot-chain/
ELIXIR https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/elixir/
Bread https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bread/
SONM https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/sonm/
CCORE https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ccore/

looking high risk high reward.

any ideas please?
The consensus in the community is that it is a mistake to put all your eggs in a single basket, if those are the coins you like why you do not invest 200 dollars in each of those coins? I know SONM and Elixir those two coins seem like a good investment to me, for the rest I do not know them with more than a thousands coins is impossible to know every coin but if you believe in them then make an investment there as well.
1451  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is an Asset or Currency? on: January 01, 2018, 06:01:19 PM
I believe that the initial purpose of crypto is to create a digital currency for making transactions quick and easy. However, in reality it has become an asset which everybody is buying and holding. Continuing doing like this will destroy the initial purpose of the coin?

What is your opinion?
Because of the high value of bitcoin, cryptocurrencies will can be labelled as assets.
People are buying crypto and hoping that in due time they can sell it at high price.
Crypto is both, bitcoin is an asset for the reasons you explain however when an asset has the right characteristics it begins to be used as a currency by people that is what happened to gold and silver, people began using gold and silver, two assets, as money because they fitted the definition of what is money perfectly and it is happening the same with bitcoin.
1452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ate you going to spend or save you bitcoin? on: January 01, 2018, 09:15:56 AM
Looking back to my wallet history 1 year ago, i saw my previous investment on bitcoin which just i withdraw after a few weeks. Then the value of it today is like 20x from its previous value. I regret that i withdraw it early. Now i am trying to save bitcoin again and just hold it.
That is painful but it is a lesson we all need to never forget, we never know when bitcoin is going to go up in value that is why it is important to keep some holdings of bitcoin at all times, that way no matter when that happens you are going to benefit greatly from the pump, I know that I would have been happy if bitcoin reached 3k but bitcoin surpassed all our prognostics when it reached almost 20k just a few weeks ago.
1453  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless society on: January 01, 2018, 12:33:53 AM
It is a good idea, if the society does not have cash, we only use the digital currency  managed by the goverments, the society will reduce the plunder situation, .. all the transactions are recorded and will be no cheating in the business. I think it is very difficult to do this because many people still do not know how to use smart phones and other technologies.
What you are talking about is precisely what bitcoin is trying to avoid, it is true that everything is recorded in the blockchain, but you are not required to reveal your identity if you do not want, and you can use bitcoin as a way to move your money without having to go through the fiat system, this is why governments are against it since bitcoin reduces the control they have over their citizens.

no, why the government forbids bitcoin? , government identifies bitcoin can be a scam and most convenient place for money laundering. if government has problems with remittances, how with fastpay, paypal or nettelar? . this is not a matter bitcoin transactions with fiat money, but bitcoin and cryptocurrency can be used for unnecessary criminal acts . and possibly some employees government use cryptocurrency for money laundering?
No, you are talking about the excuses they are going to use to regulate the bitcoin market, if they were worried about such a thing they will concentrate their efforts in banks where 99% of the money laundering happens, they do not like bitcoin because citizens can get away from their controls, in an airport you cannot bring more than 10k dollars in cash and with bitcoin you can have a fortune stored in your computer and no one will ever know, make no mistake that is why they hate bitcoin.
1454  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 TRANSFORMATION HAS BEGUN! CSNO TOKENS ADDED! 🎰🎰🎰 on: December 31, 2017, 09:59:28 PM
^ Yup.  Some speculators have to understand that BTC is rising much faster than alts, taking much of the fiat value in  crypto.  If you bought anything with Bitcoin, you have to understand that there's an opportunity cost by trading it for
an alt.

The best move would then be to trade back to BTC, with BTC profit.  It simply is the crypto to hold long term.
Chasing profits has always been a losers game, bitcoin has been doing great in the last months better than most alts, but if you were not invested in bitcoin already then it is a mistake to sell alts to buy bitcoin since you are selling cheap to buy and expensive asset, the best move is if you bought a solid alt like the BitDice token is to keep holding at some point the growth of alts is going to be bigger than the growth of bitcoin and you are going to not only recover your investment but get profits in the process.
1455  Economy / Economics / Re: When will more retailers accept Bitcoin on: December 31, 2017, 08:53:38 PM
The key drivers for mass adoption of Bitcoin amongst commercial subjects are two - lower volatility of Bitcoin and friendlier legal and compliance standards. We are still far from such an adoption, I would say that Bitcoin nowadays is rather asset to speculate on than currency to pay with
Those two points are important I'm not going to deny that, but the biggest issue of bitcoin right now are the fees, we cannot use bitcoin as a currency when the fees are so high unless you are transferring a good amount of money the best thing you can do is to reduce your bitcoin transactions to the minimum, or to move your funds to a segwit addresses, when that changes we will see a major adoption of bitcoin by retailers.
1456  Economy / Economics / Re: Which one is good, trading or investing? on: December 31, 2017, 04:53:34 AM
I think it depends what you want to take because everything is also good, but for beginners better investment do not trading first, because the risk of trading is higher than the investment.
So when are you gonna start to trade? You won't know if you have the chance in trading if you won't try, besides you can start with a small amount in trading so you can practice and improve your strategy overtime, what's important is to have a self control to properly execute your strategy.

Investing and trading are both risky, we are the only one who can determine the risk, therefore we are the only one also to reduce the risk.
There are two necessary things you need to have to start trading, first you need some money, you cannot trade and make money if you do not have any, and second you need to study trading and become proficient at it before putting any money at risk, some people prefer to learn while they are trading but that is a huge mistake since trading without any experience or knowledge is going to be a sure way to lose all your money.
1457  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Will Change Everything on: December 31, 2017, 02:11:52 AM
Bitcoin has the potential to change everything but that does not mean that it is going to happen, governments can take a lot of actions that will limit the growth of bitcoin and if they do it then bitcoin is not going to become as big as we want, also central banks are not going to adopt bitcoin because if they do they will be recognizing their defeat.
I think governments are not trying to block Bitcoin, they are trying to figure out Bitcoin and crypt money Smiley And they are trying to make the most profitable arrangement. Because running towards the wind is difficult, but if you take the wind back, you run better.

That is a possibility but I have my doubts, for example, they may try to regulate bitcoin at its current size since not many people around the world are using it, but do you think they are going to remain that calm if hundreds of millions of people begin to use bitcoin and they begin to see that the taxes they are getting are lower? I'm sure that at that point we are going to see very harsh rules against bitcoin users that do not disclose their bitcoin holdings.
1458  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin the next big thing? on: December 31, 2017, 12:06:52 AM
Your statement is full of contradicory remarks about each other. First off, bitcoin isn't supposed to replace the whole traditional currency scheme already existing; bitcoin is supposed to co-exist with it and give people better options to have more control over their money. Second, I'd invest in bitcoin because it already has proven itself. Look at the charts, it's already the biggest thing around. Lastly, institutional investors are now drooling over the gains of bitcoin and have since tried to enter the market through futures that they offer in their platforms.
True bitcoin is only meant to be another option, it is highly likely that bitcoin is going to replace the current economic system, banks and governments that benefit greatly from it are never going to allow it, but bitcoin can be used as an investment and as a store of value, just look at the price, I do not have much bitcoin and yet the benefits I have gotten are remarkable and I'm sure those benefits are going to get even better in the next years.
1459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: do you think bitcoin will go back again to 10k or even below 10k on: December 30, 2017, 09:41:59 PM
with south korea's move and bitcoin's overall downtrend do you think it an go further below 10k?
To me this does not seem very likely bitcoin is still above 13k and I do not see a reason to see an even bigger downtrend taking over the market, it seems we are going to finish the year in with a price of 12k to 15k not the highest price but sill very good if you invested before December, after that, who knows what it may happen but this seems like a good opportunity to get some cheap bitcoin.
1460  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wondering why Bitcoin dropped by over 10% last night? on: December 30, 2017, 08:33:01 PM
Look no further than South Korea!

What was starting to become one of the major hubs of bitcoin trading got some rather harsh news last night.

Well it wasn't actually all that harsh, but apparently those selling bitcoin think so.

In news out last night in South Korea, regulators have announced that they will be regulating cryptocurrency exchanges.

What does that mean?

It likely means several things.

The big requirement going forward will be that exchanges will be required to verify their customers before allowing them to trade, which would go along with rules other financial exchanges abide by in the country.

That doesn't sound all that bad.

What was likely scary was the part where regulators said that they might also shut down some exchanges that are not abiding by these rules.

Which as you can imagine read like, "oh no exchanges are going to be shut down!".

Luckily that is not the case.
Losing 10% in a day is not really anything special for bitcoin, I think you are making a mistake looking for some kind of reason for the movements of bitcoin, this is just the way bitcoin moves, now if we were talking about losing like 30% in a single day then I will agree that will be an alarm sign and that we should look for signs of what happened.
