That’s by the bci folks vosk was savaging , I bet dude doesn’t have a philanthropic bone in his body lol

Back on topic ,

Anyways I don’t see the fascination with the 1660ti

The 2080 is the rtx to buy , basically twice as fast and you can get it for $700

Plus the 1660 has 6 gig of ram which means it can’t mine grin or mtp on some platforms

I would rather have a 2080 or 2070 at $500

I've heard those new fridges are really energy efficient. Five star rating. Great for mining.

You should be able to mine a bunch of coins and put them in the fridge - For cold storage.

Very secure. Unhackable.
Yup I love mine, just gotta get the mining part working !! Then I can even defrost my coins when crypto bull market come!!
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I mine some type of crypto with my kitchen appliances? on: April 11, 2019, 09:50:00 PM
My toaster is mining BTC at 50TH for 1200 watts and i get all the toast i want for that.

Where can I get one of these crypto toasters sir?!!

Your a drain on the mining community, Vosk your only motive is money and to suck all your followers dry.  Stop shilling on your youtube channel for these scam shitcoins that have no future.
Yeah way to commercialized on his posts , he acts like he gives a fuck about the gpu community and he’s out here
Shilling ASICS and posting hit peices on some coins and dick sucking others he’s definitely lost all my respect.

I could forgive the asic thing we all gotta eat but posting hit peices and promoting other projects (obviously being paid for it ) is despicable

Kind of thought we were internet buds, sad  Shocked

I dont shill ASICs, if you actually followed my work you'd see I commonly slam them and the current state of asic producers in most videos.. reference.. my latest upload  Shocked

I'm guessing this is in reference to BCI? I do not see any value in that project, sorry I am not "shilling" BCI holder bags. BCI community did nothing to change my mind and instead attacked me personally as well as my channel. Don't you have a BCI mining pool you maintain?
For reference when I publicly posted how I simply did not like BCI, it was ~$1.00 and now is 10% that value. I'm not saying I impacted that, but I am saying I was not wrong  Undecided -- most projects have doubled in value since then (or more, take one of the leaders RVN for example)
I would be upset too if I was heavily invested in a project that has basically never increased in value "but but but it has progpow!!!" okay, let me know how that works out for you.

Sure I have some sponsored content, which I disclose -- this isnt a hobby for me, I cannot imagine you would enjoy working (even if you loved your work) indefinitely, for free.

To be honest, some of the replies on this thread verifies why I don't invest a lot of my personal time into this forum anymore.

I'm not looking for sympathy or anything, but try to take a step back and imagine you were me -- you worked about ~14 hours (research, testing, shooting, editing, and posting) and spent ~$300 to make some (hopefully) interesting content, only to turn around and get sh** on -- in this forum.
you do shoddy research , weren’t you shilling Loki for a while ?

How has that worked out ? Lol

You were attached because you did crappy research and posted opinion as fact , If you had provided well though out commentary negative or positive it’s one thing.

Internet buds ? What lol what’s does that even mean
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Can I mine some type of crypto with my kitchen appliances? on: April 11, 2019, 11:15:53 AM
I have one of those smart fridges with a lcd and it even has WiFi and amazon for ordering
Supplies.  I’m sure it have a powerful gpu right? Also my toaster has is a computarized one I think it also has an lcd and chip , there must be some software I can install maybe via WiFi right ?

Also my washer and dryer and only a year old and heavily automated and computerized with WiFi go of course , maybe the same fridge software could be configure to mine something simple like litecoin or diash?

Please point me in the best direction and thanks in advance  Smiley

I heard there’s a guy called Vorskoin that is expert on reviews on stuff likes this maybe he can do a review of
The most profitable appliances for mining?

https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/218323/global-blockchain-mining-changes-name-to-metaverse-capital-and-outlines-plans-for-2019-218323.html

Now under the new name Metaverse, I found it interesting to see the projects they're pooling for masternode funding and blockchain staking. Dash, Loki, Stellar, lightning network and Elixxir

Good advice for all of us?

Its very good advice , mining is kinda on the down trend, with ETH going POS soon , once eth can provide a working open source POS type of system , full mining farms will probably go the way of the DODO

I think there will still be some mining but this is a better overall strategy , some mining but mostly focused on POS, masternode rewards the like

249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Planning for summer 2019 on: April 11, 2019, 01:36:18 AM
Smart mans plan is if you don’t have solar stop fucking mining lol till profits return

But lol they won’t listen , I’m shutting down the bulk of my op , only leaving the ones in my basement since I get 20 percent off with savers switch but even that might not be enough for me to keep running them in the summer

I regularly go over my server logs.

The spam hackers are starting to target me for stupid crap.... if they only understood that attempting to SSH into my server from the internet gets them a full ban off my network;  soooo..... yeah...

I know the bots are present that regularly try to log into any seen SSH/SSHD server with a wordlist or a stolen passwords list;   but my IP ban list is rather excessive now;  and growing (slowly now) each day....   And it is sensitive enough that I have accidentally been banned trying to remotely login myself...   there's only one specific way to do it;  and I tend to forget that caveat sometimes =P

Initially;  I had my server take any failed attempt;  and start 1000 parallel instances of 3.14159Mb pings to the other end for the next hour.    two hours later;  I realized how much traffic that turned into; and swapped to the perma-ban list.   I think the attempts are slow enough now; that Ill turn that little puppy back on....

Just sharing to remind you:
Be sure to change any default password anytime you have one:  your routers, your miners; everything.  Its easy to get fucked if you leave a gaping hole such as that.

I wonder if im being targeted with miner usernames because of my use of this site.... idk; that's specculation.
I turn off firewall access without vpn access , and no ssh allowed to any of my boxes via public ips

Usually most miner threads put it on the first announcement, and update it as they modify code

trying do this merged mining thing here but whats the flag for CN turtle ? this does not work

Quote

:: Example batch file for starting teamredminer.  Please fill in all <fields> with the correct values for you.
:: Format for running miner:
::      teamredminer.exe -a <algo> -o stratum+tcp://<pool address>:<pool port> -u <pool username/wallet> -p <pool password> --cn_config <cn config>
::
:: Fields:
::      algo - the name of the algorithm to run. E.g. lyra2z, phi2, or cnv8
::      pool address - the host name of the pool stratum or it's IP address. E.g. lux.pickaxe.pro
::      pool port - the port of the pool's stratum to connect to.  E.g. 8332
::      pool username/wallet - For most pools, this is the wallet address you want to mine to.  Some pools require a username
::      pool password - For most pools this can be empty.  For pools using usernames, you may need to provide a password as configured on the pool.
::      cn config - An optional thread intensity and mode to use for cryptonight mining.  See the --help option and CNV8_TUNING.txt for more info.

254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Who ordered the AMD Radeon VII? Lets make a list of Miners / Hashrates / Coins on: March 28, 2019, 07:11:33 PM
3 x 1660 is $900 tho

If it was $250 per 1660ti I would definitely prefer those to a VII
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Tesla PowerWall 2 + 50 RTX 2080Ti GPUs on: March 28, 2019, 07:31:53 AM
PowerWall 2 specs are as follows:

Usable Capacity: 13.5 kWh
Continuous discharge rate: 5 kW

So if you set the 1660Ti to draw 90 Watts, you can power about 55 of them from a PowerWall 2.  So that's about 7 rigs with 7 or 8 GPUs each.

Keep in mind that after 2.7 hours, you have completely drained the PowerWall 2 module since the capacity is only 13.5 kWh.

A single 1660Ti will draw 2.16 kWh a day (90 Watts * 24 hours), so if you are looking for how many 1660Ti's a PowerWall 2 can keep running for 24 hours, that comes to 6.25, or a single rig with 6 GPUs.

I'll say it again, using any type of off grid battery system for powering mining rigs is a really bad idea except for a tiny experimental setup.  Once you get into needing 100's of kWh a day to power your mining operation, a grid tied system makes much more sense.

Yesterday my 128 panel array produced 183.4 kWh and the peak output was around 26 kW from around 1pm to 2pm.  If I was to use PowerWall 2's, I would have needed 14 of them to store that energy.  Instead, I just pumped it all into the grid and now have 183.4 kWh of credit with the power company that I can pull back out at my leisure.  So no upfront cost for PowerWall modules, and no worries about maintenance down the road.
Well, I'm finally mixing all the two in one (both the grid and solar) to cut the high cost from the grid.
During the day time, I will use solar power while in the night when there is no sun then I'll be using the grid power.
I was planning to go completely off-grid when it comes to power because my goal is long-term.
Once my power is completely off-grid I don't have to worry about paying the power bills anymore.
You will never have enough off grid storage to power even six rigs let alone 20 unless u have millions to invest in commercial grade batteries which cannot even be installed on most but the very remote residential properties due zoning. Be happy with your grid tie in and maybe a few batteries to power your cooling system
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Tesla PowerWall 2 + 50 RTX 2080Ti GPUs on: March 28, 2019, 07:28:54 AM
Ok, hence GTX 1660ti consumes less power compared to RTX 2080ti - May I still use Powerwall 2 to power the 1660ti rigs?
If not, the industrial power setup is the solution then e.g. Tesla Powerpack or Tesvolt TLC 1000 1MW setup.

I want to know if PowerWall 2 can power 1660ti rig and how many to be exact? I like to use Powerwall because I can hang them anywhere I want.
But if they can't provide enough power for at least 100 GPUs 1660ti(s) then there is no need to be looking all fancy anymore.
God this foo will not even listen , let him waste his $$ if he even has any on a stupid power wall 2 lol
You think a rig is like a fridge or a few appliances? A single rig is continuously drawing power unlike normal house hold appliances for which the power wall is designed for jesus
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v12.0 (Windows/Linux) on: March 27, 2019, 07:16:00 AM
Quite a lot of time passed since last version, lets hope something serious is been cooking up

senseless hope  Cheesy

Dual ETH/ZIL would be enough to make me happy  Grin

I've asked different devs to develop a *miner+ZIL in a custom dual... there is no interest at all, I got no answer at all on my questions and suggestions
Donno why is that, but for now, we have to use our custom start pow/stop pow procedure to dualmine ZIL  Sad
Those lazy fucks have made millions and until eth pow ends they see no reason to do anything, once eth dies and thier revenues fall maybe then they will look at zil and other dual mining candidates

Honestly I hope the don’t, I’ve figured outa great dual mining system and racking a nice amount of zil a day
It’s like the old days of mining before easy claymore and phonniex , keeps the newbies out, more zil for us
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Zilminer - mine POW coin in dual mine mode with almost no power use!!!!! on: March 27, 2019, 07:12:27 AM
Hi,

for those itnerested, i have done 1 day testing,

runing together 1GH rigs dual mining eth and zil

START:
Hashrate   1 Gh/s
PoWs Accepted   294
PoWs Submitted   375

END:
Hashrate   1 Gh/s
PoWs Accepted   307
PoWs Submitted   398

so for 1 day 13 shares accepted / 23 shares submited = 13 x 9zil = 117zil/day = x0.018 = 2.1usd/day with 1Gh/s rigs
That’s terrible you should run your own node, 1ghs is enough to power 1 node , you would get 200 to 300 zil a day.

I have 5 nodes , 1ghs pointed to each one even got in ds committee and I pulled 500 in one day from that node

* re reading your results that doesn’t make sense , I was getting 6 or 7 shares per 160mhs rig myself on this pool, still have a few rigs on it, so if you have 1ghs you should have at least 40 or 50 shares a day which is more reasonable

Hi could you advise what im doing wrong if i get only aprox 15 shares per day per 1Ghs? to get 40-50 is like a dream seems so.
im having 5 rigs connected on pool http://rudnik.hopto.org:5000/#start_mining
shall i try another pool?

You might be better Ming solo
Then , 1gh pointedto
A single node would net around 50 percent shard status and maybe even get luck on ds

Maintaining a node can be a pain tho due to downtime of the network and having to upgrade weekly but you would get far more rewards than 90 a day , probably double or triple easy
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Tesla PowerWall 2 + 50 RTX 2080Ti GPUs on: March 24, 2019, 09:02:59 PM
This is my long term goal as well but the only way I invest in solo is with PROFITS from a bull market if it every returned.  All my rigs were paid for in the last bull market , not buying any gear, right now to make $$. It’s best to buy crypto

People who bought raven all last year for example are doing great now
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: March 23, 2019, 07:01:33 AM
You just proved my point , TIMING they mined early when those fpgas were quite profitable internally, and delivered to you guys after they were basically worthless, it’s the same old trick all pre-order teams pull

It was exactly what I expected to happen

from what i understand, some devs were mining privately on amazon AWS F1 instances and some with unmodified VCU1525s way before any of this stuff was announced publicly. the idea for selling BCU1525s (which are basically just modified VCU1525s) came later and delays were on Xilinxs end as they were not paid on schedule IIRC. due to cash flow problems from mineority or sqrl, not sure which as they were all intertwined at that time. otherwise we would of had them much sooner.

naturally this is from my recollection and may be wrong.

How can they have had cash flow problems when they got paid up front?!

I find it hard to believe everything was above board
