While there is competition to become a delegate for the main chain, there will be plenty of demand to run delegates for the sidechains.

I don't code but I managed to become a delegate and run a full node on the testnet in less then 5hrs with the help of others Lisk minded members on Lisk.chat and with the numerous manuals available. When will forging be enabled? Forging is already enabled - on testnet. For mainnet it is envisioned that Forging starts with version 0.4.0. According to the last technical meeting we are moving away from the fact that it becomes available with 0.4.0, because we are now using a semantic versioning scheme. ( http://semver.org) Soon there will be a milestone which will work as an activator for community delegates. Yes. This is why there will be a market for a blockchain app to implement simple smart contracts and other functions which wouldn't really warrant creating a sidechain just to run by themselves. For this reason, Ethereum and Lisk are not really competitors, other than Lisk can run EVM as a blockchain app tied to the main Lisk chain.

Oliver: @fixcrypt is working on issues assigned to him according to the current milestone. Lately he has been working on refactoring the block processing and peer selection code.
Max: Ricardo is working on the Lisk nano client. The past two weeks however he was busy because of the Olympics in Rio, as he is also working for an IT company in Brazil. The Lisk nano client is ready to go, we want to do one final round of testing. Then release it. 🙂 Gut zu wissen. Lisk Nano ist dann vergleichbar mit einem Lite-Client? Also beschränkt auf die Minimalfunktionen? Der Nano Client hat nur die Minimalfunktionen, während ein Lite Client eigentlich alle Funktionen beinhaltet. Das ist zumindest unsere Definition. Okay. Aber beim Lite Client ist sicher auch kein Blockchain Download notwendig? Sonst wäre es ja kein Lite... Aber ich habe gerade die Zusammenfassung eures vorletzten Community Meetings gelesen, dort hattest du das ja auch schon erklärt. Ja, bei Nano und Lite wird die Blockchain lokal nicht benötigt. |

I'm not really sure if I missed it in the summary of the technical meeting / community meeting, but what are the current plans for the start of forging? I guess I may need to bring out my votes again soon.
We changed our versioning scheme to a proper one ( http://semver.org). That means we are pushing out updates and once we feel confident that Lisk is ready, we will activate the forging rewards. On GitHub you will soon see a new milestone similar to "stable forging" or "community delegates". |

Ja. Wir machen hier eine Versions Schema Ausnahme, da wir mit 0.4.0 das community forgen aktivieren wollen. Deshalb pushen wir alle paar Wochen ein neues Update im 3er Branch und sobald es läuft bereiten wir ein kleineres 0.4.0 Update vor, in dem es halt nur ab Block X aktiviert wird. Damit wollen wir sicherstellen, dass es mit 0.4.0 eben nicht läuft und wir dann noch 0.4.1 oder 0.4.2 raushauen müssen. |

We have Serious Issue we just withdrew 8000 LISK from Poloniex less than 1 Hour Ago. And the People that
Handled the Withdrawal didn't check for a space before or after the Address.
I hope their somebody here that knows how we would manually recover these coin that have been sent here

I was asking myself same thing yesterday, was start writing post to ask about it but did not post it It is strange, no one reacted on that announcement here, there are lot better places to put money I don't know them, they never contacted me, and I have absolutely no idea if it's legit or not.
