i always prefer wood over metal...

in using metal, sometimes electricity will tickle you if you have contact while fixing and tinkering.
2422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.1 on: May 29, 2016, 03:21:25 AM
1.1 pre-release is out:

https://github.com/Genoil/cpp-ethereum/tree/110/

- no more DAG files (both CUDA/OpenCL)
- CUDA Compute 2.0 support is back

It looks like it's all working but I'm releasing early so you can help me test. Don't forget to remove your -E and -R params, that is all gone now.

CPU util seems down, RAM usage down of course. CPU validation is still in there, using the light cache.

no devfee, but do send me some ETH if you like it  Grin

Dual miner and I'll definitely send you some BTC again. Cool idea with the streaming DAG though.

It's not my idea, it's Wolf0's (or sp_'s even if you look at it differently) and Claymore implemented it first Grin.

I don't have time for a dual, but I also said that about the streaming DAG Wink

Actually, I implemented it first - which is how I knew it worked - in my custom sgminer.

If you did, you never talked about it, much like other things that actually help normal miners. Gotta keep it all yourself you know. Pallas or Berthrolobo or whatever his name was talked about it last year some time in the SP thread and I kept poking at it, especially after the Claymore release.

Which means, as always, it really doesn't even matter what you're doing.

Christ, you're fucking stupid. Giving Claymore the idea wasn't talking about it?

Claymore's release came around this last spring. That's not the timeline I quoted. "especially after" means a increase in frequency, not the beginning.

Dude is following me like a lost puppy, except he has a bone to pick.

You realize you joined the conversation after me and the original quote thread includes my quote which predates yours?

As far as a bone to pick. Just setting things right. You seem to like taking liberties and bragging when you don't have anything to brag about.

Here's your proof: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.msg14677943#msg14677943

And yeah, I did - but the second I post, you always have shit to say.

We're talking about two different things here. I was talking about a dual miner and where the idea came from, not the streaming DAG idea. Pretty sure you could've figured that out from my first second post including the extra bits you snipped out of my posts when quoting them.

Genoil mentions the DAG gen on GPU idea, and that it was my idea, but Claymore implemented it first. I correct him on that, and it's obvious I'm talking about the DAG generation. Then you jump in with some half-cocked bullshit, and when I prove you wrong, you go "I meant something else." Either you have a hard time reading, or you got proved wrong and now want to backpedal.

I jumped in? Look at the quote tree you continually quote dude. I was talking to Genoil, then you jumped in. It's pretty obvious I was talking about the dual miner. Go figure you can't figure out what I'm talking about when you selectively read everything.

I have and have had no interest in a streaming DAG, we've talked about a dual miner quite a bit in SPs thread. I've also talked about it elsewhere on the forums... like this specific thread multiple times and I've talked about it in Claymores thread.

You can't even gracefully understand a misunderstanding... This would normally be seen as a mutual misunderstanding, everything I was talking about was referring to the dual miner. Matter of a fact if anything I actually understood there was a misunderstanding while you keep trying to grind your heels in regardless of what's happening.

If you want to act like a asshole... when I was talking about you gaining more profit from using it, what sort of extra profit does a streaming DAG generate? Or are you that full of yourself that you assume anything you do makes profits? You save a couple GB on HD space, which means you can buy a smaller HD? Maybe the little bit of time the miner spends regenerating the DAG every couple days could be bypassed? It's nice from a utility and maintenance standpoint, but doesn't earn you more money in any notable form. I haven't even upgraded to the new version because the bugs outweigh a tried and true system. It's not a feature I was even looking for, especially with DAG cleanup.

Backpedal my ass, that was me closing the argument because it was a misunderstanding rather then rail you on the fact you were completely ignorant to what's going on... even after it's over and I showed you what was happening you still didn't even go back and look at the quotes and are STILL trying to perpetuate what we were talking about as if it somehow still has meaning.

Actually, what kind of profit does a DAG on GPU generate? Well, good question. When building out a farm, it means you can use a lot less RAM per rig, which does save money - you can save on HDDs, too.

But meh, fuck it. I finally managed to improve this damned thing, so I'm happy enough to not give a fuck less Cheesy

saved me from buying some 2gb ddr2 rams for my intel socket 775 rigs.
2423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Viability of a (Long Term) Mining Career? on: May 28, 2016, 09:16:43 AM
Yeah I am sure most of us can live under $500 a month.

However that would mean moving back in with your parents, riding a bike instead of driving, eating Ramen noodles, wearing used clothes from Goodwill, cutting your own hair, having no insurance, never travelling, not having your own family, etc.

What kind of life is that.

well i got a bike  Cheesy

i hate ramen noodles ( the instant ones), i'm eating beef, seafoods, veggies, and fruits, and i have some spices on stock ready to be used when needed. buying clothes for me is not a monthly routine so it is not expensive, haircut here is 1$. there are cheap insurance plans that is enough, i bought GPU's instead of travelling..I'll travel, just waiting for the mood... having family in time..
2424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Viability of a (Long Term) Mining Career? on: May 28, 2016, 07:29:44 AM

another thing to add

why in the hell you need to aim at making 60k or 19k a month, when with a regular job you would only make 1k?

let's be equal here, if you want to get rid of your steady job, you need just an income of 1k per month, it can be reached easily by mining any shitcoin if you have proper electricity

1. You have to pay back your loans for everything you built.

2. As network difficulty changes your profits will drop.

3. You have to constantly upgrade/repair/replace equipment in this industry. You will need a store of cash to do this.

4. Who the hell can live on $1k a month? Thats under minimum wage. Remember not everyone lives at mommys and has no bills. I live in a smaller cheap house and my monthly bills not counting food/gas/car maintenance/etc are over $1000 a month.

You sound like someone who has no clue what its like owning a business or even living on your own for that matter if you think $1k is enough to live on. OP said $35k-65k per year. $35k is about $2900 a month before taxes. $65k is about $5400 a month before taxes. Calculate loan repayment rates, commercial rental fees, taxes on your profits......now tell me again how far off I am?

you don't need to live under your parent to live with 1k, i can live with 500 and i'm alone, just don't be stupid and build a family with 500 or 1k

again don't say shit like you have no clue, when you know nothing about the cost of living around the world

if you think that you need 3k a month in every place of earth just to have a normal life, you are the one which is clueless

that makes us two here at 500$.. i can still live at 300-350$ "happily" but i don't want to scare some people here LOL..

A couple of gross details to point out.  Hopefully you can correct me or correct yourself.

$1k / month  ??

Who can or will live on a $1k a month ? That is $12,000 a year and even the poverty rate in Ont is about $18,000 .. You are suggesting surviving in Ontario at 1/3 below the poverty rate. Even people who are old and home bound or disabled would living substantially better than you.

$1k is more like slovakia.

Please share your model for mining $1k on a shit coin .. I'm must be the dumbest miner on the block because I can't find one.

cut $1k in two.

500$.. i can live with that a month  Grin

2427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why can't the alt community figure out that dumping alts for BTC rises is silly? on: May 28, 2016, 06:47:08 AM
It's nothing new really, most people in crypto are just dumb gamblers (delusionally calling themselves investors) cashing out on all their investments as soon as they can afford a slice of pizza instead of putting some thoughts into it and multiplying their profits simply by waiting.

waiting is "simply" the hardest part lol
2428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Applications = Vaporware? on: May 27, 2016, 05:12:45 AM
how about "speed"? can these decentralized applications run with network speed where people can utilize it and won't complain?. In real world applications, not just some geek techno toys.
2429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred GPU Miner v4.4 (Windows/Linux) on: May 25, 2016, 11:42:12 PM
can someone explain me the power limit function ? What is it doing and what are the number parameters ? Thanks !

it sets the maximum power that the gpu is allowed to use.

example:
my sapphire r9 390 needs power limit to be increased because it down throttles when overclocked due to lack of power the gpu is using. while my msi r9 390 does not need it because msi made it that way..

The homepage seems very weak, any updates planing?

Fully agree,  every BCT OP should have a strong First Post.

You guys really need to get a good designer on the job, i, like many will not touch this coin due to the "lame" looking OP.
You cant be taken serious with such half assed work like that.

i think decred OP is a bit better then ethereum's BCT OP hehe  Grin

Crashed my psu. Working dual miner ( 4.3 ) after 1 hour.
My rig: 3x R7 370 . Psu coolermaster 600w.
-
Dual miner 4.3 calistirdiktan 1saat sonra psu yandı. Tam yanma aşamasında kokudan farkettik kartları zor kurtardık. Anakart ve psu pert.
Kartlarin cektigi watt hesaplamasini dikkatli yapmak lazim. Benim gibi ucu ucuna yeten psu kullananların riski büyük.

I feel your pain, had exactly the same problem running three cards on two PCs. One of the PCs the socket started to burn and it melted the pins like yours.

Fortunately, mine still lives.  Grin

maybe you didn't make sure the socket is firmly connected to the board.

loose connection => heating of wires => burning

technically that might still work, you just have to find a way to make the connection again, solder some wire in the board so you can make a connection to the PSU wire again (the burned sockets only)---> if you have the skill.

Coinbase is going to list one premined shit coin - ETH.

I think they will not refuse to list another instamined shit coin - Dash. Has anyone from Dash community tried to reach Coinbase?

Weak troll attempt, weak.

The DASH community is well hardened against trolling, you'll need to try harder next time friend.

Was that even an attempt, for real???

Just had a pulse i do believe.

More like a cry for help from a troll in existential crisis.

a bit quiet isn't it.  Looking forward to some test net ACSHOOOOOOONE!

HONCHO is online and talking 3am to 7am in the Philippines..maybe he is not anonymint, unless insomnia kicked in.

That means next to nothing: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=504237;sa=statPanel

Why speculate though? If people are going to use sock puppets, and they are, then it doesn't really matter who happens to be driving any particular puppet at any given time. People can switch puppets and puppets can always be passed around (which might be one explanation for the above linked chart, who knows).

You're unavoidably dealing with a forum nick and nothing any more tied to a "real identity" than that, don't assume otherwise.

(i adjusted the time 2am to 7am)....

i'm speculating that there maybe more than 1 person involved other than anonymint..

- 5 minute block target
- 6 Confirms per transaction
- Difficulty re-targets every 60 minutes
- Block reward controlled by moores law ( 1111 / (diff+1 ^ 2))
- 11 chained hashing algorithms
- Premine: 0%

Since the reward is variable and depends on the difficulty, is there a maximum amount of coins to be mined? A maximum amount of blocks?

Yes, the max coin amount is 84,000,000

Evan confirms that max coin amount is 84,000,000

Wow! We are nearly at 6,500,000 million Xcoins or Darkcoins or Dash if you will/as you wish.
That's over threefold the instamine.

And it gets even better. Evan Duffield is asking for experienced C++ developpers in the Bitcoin mailing list.
http://www.mail-archive.com/bitcoin-development%40lists.sourceforge.net/msg03557.html

That means, he has another great project in the pipeline!
I'm in!

That 84 MILLION in DASH was a post from 2014

Try like 18 Million DASH

hahaha

and the instamine becomes at least 5 fold more valuable

i'm curios with this jambox, but very optimistic...music??

in early days computers remained in corporate and interested individuals/party only because of its limited use... until people have multiple uses for a computer like multimedia, games, office etc. that made it a household item.

imagine a crypto currency or something of that sort become a household "stuff"
