Actually, I was planning on *2* of my 92 mm - not 3.
I think I DID say "one per heatsink".
120mm wouldn't FIT right, way too high.

I've done the "relube" thing too many times to count - and it never works for long as the seals are ALREADY shot by the time you do that.
Short-term "buy time for a better option" at BEST, usually lucky to get a month of working fan out of relubing and if the bearing/shaft is too WORN you won't get a week if it works at all.

'

that is a 2x 120mm on a 390 sapphire tri x, you just have to raise it a little bit higher...

i don't know about seals being "ALREADY shot" fans just snap out and snap back in, fixed the wiggling from an HIS rx 480 recently, a msi r9 390 - a fan sometimes not turning, when you spin it with your finger it doesn't spin smoothly..you can feel the lack of lubrication..a msi r9 290x twin frozr and a sapphire 280x dual x too..for me so far so good..

here is a 3x 92mm on a fury strix at 48c..I think you will need three BTW....for me I prefer 2x 120mm

note: the riser on this fury strix and on that 390 is 4 years old  Cool

..maybe one per heat sink...depends on the size of the cards

I just realized I have no clue what brand of Nvidia cards are good for mining. Could you recommend some? ^^
Which brand got the best fans? Lifespan of these cards is crucial Cheesy

Avoid Gigabyte cards with sleeve bearing fans. I've had to RMA 5 of the cards below in 5 months of mining because the fan either stopped completely or started going haywire e.g. stopping and starting, erratically changing speed etc. They are in a low dust, ~20 degrees C ambient environment and mostly ran <60% fan speed.

There are some tuts around on how to replace the bearings but there's no point on cards still under warranty. I think I'll sell mine on and migrate to a model with more durable fans so keen to hear recommendations too!

My 3 (so far) Gigabyte minis are going to get RMAed - but they didn't have the fan die, they just outright died.
My other Gigabyte cards with fan issues are going to get "real" fan replacements at some point - not worth the time and pain to RMA them if the card itself is still working, and should provide better cooling for LESS power.
I've got a TON of "bought used" NMB 92mm fans sitting around that should fit on a Windforce heatsink fine with a few twist-ties to hold them in place.

 Anything EVGA is ball bearing.
Same for Sapphire on the AMD side.
Gigabyte Aorus are ball bearing - nothing else Gigabyte need apply for the last few years. 8-(
Not sure on ASUS in general, though their blower models are ball bearing.
MSI seem to all be ball bearing, though not sure on their blower models.
Zotac - only the Amp EXTREME claims ball bearing, no idea on anything else.

you might wanna try 120mm, two pieces of that can do the job of three 92mm...less work less wiring less fans.tried it on sapphire r9 390 tri x....beats the tri x fans by at least 5c

sleeve bearing fans with issues can be fixed with a drop of good quality oil after you plucked the fan from its base...like this..

let the naming issue shitshow begin!

lets see that web wallet  Cheesy ....some darkcoin/DASH users might use it haha now that crypto is going main stream, lots of newbs flowing in  Grin
1545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Adrenalin Driver and %15 hash increase? on: December 14, 2017, 01:29:37 AM
I loaded it up for my slower rig to give it a test. The computer option is only present for the 4/5xx cards. I have a 460 and a 560 in this rig. Not present for the older 7850/7970(280) cards it runs. Monero mining. Using same clocks and XMR stak made zero difference in hash rates. Now mining stable for 15m. Havent tried any other coins (ETH) or cards.

lol the tahiti owners got the adrenaline not the cards..
1546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Adrenalin Driver and %15 hash increase? on: December 13, 2017, 11:20:28 PM
Anyone tried this before with Windows 7 or does it only work with Windows 10?

there is a download link for windows 7...it should work..

curious on what adrenaline will this bring to my old amd cards..
1547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bminer: a fast Equihash miner for CUDA GPUs on: December 07, 2017, 04:01:54 PM
A newby and a new miner ...... mmm...

I won't be using this for now, to much risk for a few more hash....

seems not virus... but it have very high CPU usage which make it seems abnormal....

how can it use over 40% on a 4790K CPU for just 3 X 1080TI??

the power consumption on the CPU cannot compensate the gain ..... and it is not stable too....

i overlooked the cpu usage it is high and yes it is not stable soooo  I'll pass..
1548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bminer: a fast Equihash miner for CUDA GPUs on: December 07, 2017, 06:52:10 AM
it seems a bit faster and a bit cooler

typically cooler cards means more efficient, less power consumed for a bit more hash..

now observing for stability.

made a test transfer first before sucking it all out....guess they have the luxury of time to carefully secure their funds lol

my dashboard tab was open yesterday so i was able to screenshot even when nicehash was down.

here is my loss..must be a little bit higher now since BTC went up

i'm very late to try nicehash, got my first 1000$ and then this loss....was thinking maybe i should wait for 1000$ before withdrawing...well nicehash withdrew first!

I just sold some btc at 12,100 .

Have to check on other coins  on bittrex.  May sell more.

Phil, curious are you selling coins off to take a profit or invest in more equipment?

That's sort of my dilemma now, I know buying and holding would yield more profit in the long run that mining. But I'm compelled to buy more mining equipment. It's sort of counter intuitive of course it's all speculative but still.

More gear!

Buysolar and I will be building  the new bigger and better  solar array.

Stage 1 should be done this spring.

this move is wise, with more solar power..

if crypto remains profitable ROI will be quick, if crypto is down free solar energy maintains "tolerable" profit.

electricity source is always in the equation and if we are capable in improving it we should, crypto mining is not just improving mining gear.

I am reading Communications to get facts, but here I see only speculation. This is the weakness in this case, and nothing would be worse than raising false hopes here. Above all, don't lie to yourself. Of all the liars in the world, sometimes the worst are our own fears.

Community keeps dying.  FLIK has no trading volume, has a bad reputation in the community. Let say they deliver product in Q1. Who will use it when there is no community? Projects can fail but saying you are making a streamingplatform to get funds of investors and use that money for you're luxury life that's illegal " abuse of trust" that's a International judicial fact. They can fail in what they say. Especially when they continue like this. They can say sorry we failed.( An other way of scamming .)

After serious check, the fact is that this project failed. There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

HOW CAN THIS PROJECT ALREADY HAVE FAILED Huh You need to tell me that because that's funny so if you had a project and you say guys give me 1 year and it will be ready. and after 6 months i say to you that youre project failed. firts we need to have patience. I'm worried to because of the lack of communication but the deathline is not reached yet.

I talked a couple of days ago with someone close to the team and that person let me know why they are AFK on social media ( it can be a lie but at the other hand i would do the same if it happened to me)

1) The binance deal was fucked up because someone leaked it and you can't do that before it's official. so for now that deal is of the table and we need to wait
2) A pump and dump party took place and when the dumping started and people saw there investment go minus 90 precent in less then a weel they accuse ryan and started to treath him and his fammily.
3) Also look at twitter look at telegramgroup people are posting the will kill him. you don't do that.
4) they also are quit because they don't want to start another pump and dump
5) they are quit because if they come with updates netflix and youtube can throw millions at them

makes "buy the rumor sell the news" more profitable due to people panic selling and selling at a loss. fud can and will continue until platform release is at hand.

there are scam and failed projects that is very good at communicating with investors because they really need to convince people to buy.....there are also successful investments that are quiet.

maybe big exchanges are waiting for the platform release too.

In KRB the "masternode" are just open full nodes. We already have this capability. Just use Forknote with the "fee-address" option. The full node donation percent is located in the client software, interacting with the full node.
It's quite good incentive for running full nodes.

great, one of these days i will run a DASH masternode using forknote haha  Cheesy

I understand what you are saying but again if the development is too slow like now I am not seeing much change in scenario.

As you said KRB is the first coin for POS and certianly won't be the last but main point is the devs tried to workout something which helped coin to go to greater height.

That is what is needed for this coin to come out from ashes.

reality is..DSH is not a development oriented (like having its own way) since it is simply a bytecoin clone without the premine, updating as bytecoin updates, launched and mined fairly and it is over 3 years old now. as far as i know we only have one dev here, he is slb..

the way i see it, is devs who can do something for a coin just releases their own coin and start there since there is no incentive for them to join DSH community...for me a mastertnode or POS solution will be a good way to start, the dev who can do it can request here a certain amount of DSH as his/their incentive and since holding it will earn coins it will surely help.

now that cryptonote masternoding can be done it changes things...and it can change DSH.

I'm pretty sure there are holders of this coin, including me who can donate/give DSH for the development of DSH.

there is only one problem if DSH implements masternodes...there will be two DASH that will have masternodes, my darkcoin (AKA DASH) friends won't be happy LOL.

quoting from KRB dev..

Masternodes
--snip--
We call them Masternodes because this term is well known and to troll other coins Grin.
--snip--

DSH masternodes if implemented will troll darkcoin AKA DASH in an epic proportions  Cool
1556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DSH] Dashcoin (Cryptonote) UPDATE: New source/wallets+GUI - 1.0.10 on: November 22, 2017, 04:25:01 AM
I would like to say that this coins is great but few things I think about this coin as my percpective on what is holding this coin down :-

1) Development is very slow
2) Still basic wallet issues
3) just 1 exchange

due to above points I think coin is being held down. look at karbowanec it is now listed in 3 exchanges it's price was around 3k-4k sats but it's around 26k sats. Please DEV. we also would like the coin to grow.

KRB is the first to POS/Masternode a cryptonote coin, i think that is the reason for price increase..buyers wanted profit too (passive income) so they will run KRB masternodes.

DSH development is slow since it is getting its updates only from bytecoin code...

maybe if DSH will POS/masternode too, it might change things, it is only ~800k DSH before we reach 18.4M, maybe it is time to incentives holders since miners already mined their share.......it is 3 years mined before switching to POS or hybrid POS-POW..this could change things and gives more health to network with more nodes specially with miners being split by minergate/hitbtc fork.

Damn  woke up and checked all the asics  at the solar array  and we are crashed.

Drove over  no melt downs  seems to be an internet issue.

so 4 avalons         offline  = 27th
1 new pangolian   offline  = 11th
3 s-9's                 offline  = 40th

78th down since  2am  about six hours.

I will be troubleshooting it.

you need a dual WAN router for two internet connections, have a fail over connection automatically.
  good idea

gear is a buysolar's place

that would have worked

I found issue  the 200 foot ethernet cable from his home based router to the loft  had a poor connection.

loose wire .  it is working now

Buysolar and I will have to setup the dual WAN router  from his home to the loft space.

you have a link for that style of router.
i have netgear prosafe fvs336gv2

other brands like cisco, asus, tp-link etc...have "dual wan" and-or "load balancing" term attached to their specific model names....just read the reviews of them if they are good, and if they have more features-don't mind them, just use the dual wan capability.

this one

reminds me of..

damn.. water cooled GPUs are messy..

centralized radiator is the way to go, when NVIDIA releases volta you don't need to hesitate getting the reference cooler, just prepare the water blocks, pump and radiator. you will be up and running full speed without waiting for third party coolers made by zotac, asus, etc.

I'm planning to build one, the hard part is getting the right customized radiator, the right pump, fittings, sizes etc..

multiplying x8 of that small radiator is a start to have an idea about the size of the radiator, but we can dissipate more heat from the GPUs if we make the radiator bigger.

1560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 16, 2017, 03:35:54 AM
these long boards are perfect for liquid cooling....if you could centralize the pump and radiator per rig, that would be awesome.

a frame that can hold the board and cards and a radiator...like this.

and these rigs should be stackable

radiators can be customized, that's the key....

noise will be greatly reduced , the heat will be more manageable if you aligned all radiators and vent air through them out of the window
