nice pump..

how's the numbers of masternodes graph? haven't seen it for a while..

where is the masternodes count/graph you shills are always posting? at least give the people in cryptosphere a sneak preview of the dump that will come.

Here you go dipshit!

1783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.3 (Windows/Linux) on: March 15, 2017, 07:23:18 AM
Good Morning people.
I have a problem with Claymore, He starts work is fine, but later he crash and freezing all the Rig. Install windows again, download a new version of Claymore and stay the same.

Need help.

claymore miner issue fixes:

  - read the "readme.txt" for other settings
  - make sure you are using the right drivers
  - watch and play with your overclocks
  - look at your "-i" options, make sure your intensity is not too high

other issues: (getting into GPU mining has a prerequisite which is you should know how to troubleshoot OS and PC hardware) -> i believe this is not claymore's problem anymore

 - riser issues
 - PSU issues
 - motherboard issues
 - GPU issues
 - HDD issues
 - RAM issues
 - temperature issues

yesterday one of my rig freezes and windows crashed after mining started for a few seconds...it was a HDD bad sector issue.. find the source of problem, you can do it.

good post

i mix and match quite a bit and even have risers from when the first came out (never the ribbons tho)

first always check the riser and power supplies, that sata connection is dead important not to have too much load on a single line

if claymores software encounters an issue then it will be in the logs.... start with one card and test over 12/24 hrs, adding one more card at a time, might also be good to clean up drivers and reg entries using DDU

was having a few windows issues recently as well, tried loads of things to fix it and to my surprise all it needed was a rollback using system restore settings, perfect after 3/4 hrs reinstalling and testing lol

i have my 80gb HDDs cloned, any HDD issue I encounter, I just unplug the problematic HDD and plug a clone.

the problematic HDD will go through a file system test and bad sector test (results will determine if it will be reused or trashed), if windows is unstable due to corruption of files etc..it will be overwritten by a clone...my HDDs clone each other, as long as the good HDD is always the source.

my last windows 7 64bit installation for my mining rigs was in 2013..cloning saves time and utilizes a proven windows setup.

always have extra risers, PSUs, HDDs, RAMs etc...having identical motherboards in your rigs is a plus too.

anybody knows the performance of this GPU and feedback on temps? https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1080-mini ? ..planning on getting one or two.
No, but for mining you need as best cooling as possible, the pascal cards start to throttle once they go up temperature. So choosing one cooler type is a bad idea overall.

thanks for the input..

as i suspected...i have a HIS rx480 roaring OC and HIS rx480 OC .... the cooler type of HIS rx480 OC is a disaster, there is a huge difference in temps, "mini" GPU's sacrifices cooler performance to space...
1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bad time to buy mining rigs? on: March 14, 2017, 04:54:16 AM
If we consider the cost of electricity in many countries, it is best now not make new rigs. But in some countries, there are low-cost electricity. If you have free electricity, it changes everything.

I'd say anything below 0,10$/kW is still worth it.
You can always build 4-5 GPU rigs with cheaper PSU's and eventualy mine monero for low power usage.
Anyway, i'm still buying GPU's, i think there will always be something to mine, even in a few months when ETH ends and ZEC dissapears into oblivion  Tongue

There will always be something to mine.

Besides my RX series, I'm still runing R9's and 79x0 series on ZEC, they don't bring much profit, but still are far from over.

The difficulty that would drop onto everything else after ETH turns PoS and ZEC gets flushed would do more than double the hash rate for everything else. You can't look at the current profitability of XMR or any coin.

If your R9 and 79x0 cards are little profit now, they likely wont be profitable to run soon.

not true, i think there would be a massive sell off of many mining rig, if the diff triple on everything there will be no more profit for everyone, only peanuts for those that have lower than 5 cent electricity

If the ETH goes to PoS, then the difficulty for other coins will rise. That is the reason I am not expanding.

ETH is planned to go PoS

ZEC is just a glorified pump and dump coin. The hike back in value is a blessing for me to get more earnings prior to the BTC ETF but besides that it is a coin waiting to die

It will be grim in due time if 2 of the 3 biggest mining coins go down

I completely disagree with this.

ZEC is a rebate/commercial supported by

INTEL
AMD
NVIDIA
ASUS
ASROCK
BIOSTAR
EVGA
GIGABYTE
MSI
SAPPHIRE
POWERCOLOR
CORSAIR
SEASONIC
ANTEC
GEIL
MUSHKIN

AND MANY OTHER COMPANIES

simple economics  any of the companies above simply buy some coin to prop up its price.

this encourages miners to buy gear.

why is ZEC  the best coin for this at the moment?

market cap is small so it is easy to support the  price.

it is a win-win for them at the moment, the 1080 ti is still fresh and Vega release date is near, miners are enticed to buy the newer and faster or older and cheaper (older models are reducing prices).

I wonder why my Sapphiry Fury Nitro show 0 sols with asm algo. Anyone experienced this?

You need to reduce the intensity to -i 6 or lower.
That does not help. Tried even intensity 1. With - asm 0 I get 400 sols.

With this card, i only tried (-asm 1) and i get 430+ sols, using 15.12 drivers.
Quick guess, double check your driver version, as Windows loves to forcefully update the driver.

I think the problem is with the driver.

driver 15.12, -i 6, win7 64bit here, getting 470H/s with overclock

Hi Could you please show the capture of the overclock params for the fury

i think it is getting ~460+ H/s using optiminer

For reference, my AMD 290x's top out at 373 H/s per gpu. 12.3, asm 1, intensity needs to be around 6. Anything else and it diminishes significantly.

http://image.prntscr.com/image/341d9b53d4614ab6af042b136a599d89.png

say please setting and drivers
You need to flash 390x bios to have these speeds!
http://www.overclock.net/t/1564219/modded-r9-390x-bios-for-r9-290-290x-updated-02-16-2016

my msi 290x twin frozr gaming is at stock bios reaching ~358 H/s (overclocked).
1791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEW PSU Died After 24 Hours? on: March 08, 2017, 02:26:43 PM
advice: add another layer of protection!

I'm using surge protector extension wire (2500W rating) that has a push to reset breaker built-in --> serves as first protection before the breaker trips

20A breaker --->to 2x outlet at 16A (socket rating each)
       - 2500w surge protect extension wire per outlet

some maths: (the secret is in the Amps)

20A breaker / AWG #12:
 plug 1: 2500W/220v  = 11.36A (~max)  --> outlet is 16A rating (safe) , wire is 20A breaker (safe)

 plug 2: 2500W/220v  = 11.36A (~max)  --> outlet is 16A rating (safe) , wire is 20A breaker (safe)

notes:
  - if 2500W is reached in both of the 2x surge protector extension wires (11.36A x 2 = 22.72A) the 20A breaker trips (solution: reduce load)
  - if one of the 2500W protector extension wire trips (11.36A reached or exceeded) (solution: reduce load)

the the load in my 2500W surge protector extension wires are tested thru time when voltage fluctuates, if voltage goes down (power company's service transformer get loaded) Ampere goes up a bit(ohms law)..today a one of my 2500W surge protector extension wire tripped(been running for about two weeks already), I unplugged my rig with 1x r9 390 and plugged it in my newly bought 2500W surge protector extension wire (will add a rig or two there for expansion).

can you elaborate more, how this thread making me look bad?
1793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 06, 2017, 02:53:42 AM

Well, usually you have a dehumidifying cooler in a server room. It will make everything worse...You know the dust you blow out of computers? Imagine if it was wet...And your miner was rusty...

Not to mention wet air and high amounts of electricity don't mix.

i'm only planning to run them in summer and during hot days...the air in my mining room is quite dry...practically i turned it to something like a computer case...

i agree with you about the things you say and i think it is a bit different when the GPUs are running and changing the environment around them....clothes dries quite fast (i don't dry clothes outside the house anymore), i defrost frozen foods there and with the introduction of wet clothes the area near the clothes tend to be cooler..

i've seen some pictures of large bitcoin mining farms in China using evaporative cooling and i think they know what they are doing..

BTW i won't flood this thread with off topic posts...continue on with mining rigs, it is beautiful to see them all different and working.

he is basically saying...i bought a lot of DASH and I'm gonna retire early

in a way convincing other people to do so too...most likely to dump on them..maybe he's one of the people who pumped DASH..

i would recommend posting the screenshot of your DASH trade, if you really bought them at those prices hmmmm...

true, how about a pile in the middle of the floor?  Wink

save space, half of the room is where i dry clothes and a desktop PC(also a miner) for remote management...and the horizontal alignment for blowing heat out of the windows (push-pull). racks don't provide long horizontal alignment to the window and saving a few bucks from buying racks

planning to build a swamp cooler in the other half of the room too.

i wouldn't take seriously what these newb accounts popping here and posting topics about how great this DASH is..

they are made to create hype.

post your poloniex screen shot of your DASH holdings i dare you.

I used to think that the instamine was a bad thing, but now I'm really glad it happened. Three years ago, Evan Duffield quit a six figure job to work full time on Dash. Do you really think he would have stuck around if he didn't have a decent stake in the project? Because the instamine happened, Dash (then Xcoin) was effectively worthless in the beginning and Evan was able to buy his coins on the cheap.

If he really was a scammer planning to dupe all us knaves, then he's the worst scammer in history. What scammer works nonstop for 3+ years developing a project, when he had the opportunity to dump all his coins in May 2014 for an enormous profit? It doesn't even make any sense, folks.

yes it was a bad thing, it was not an accident, there was information blackout and he had motive to do that as stated here DASH Masternodes - the perfect motive for the instamine ..

so he and his friends accumulated outrageous amounts of coins....he didn't dupe their inner circle all right  Wink , which some of them are actively shilling DASH from early 2014 to present.

1799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 05, 2017, 01:38:03 AM
damn son, we've got a winner on the macgyver front...

I think you should dangle everything directly from the ceiling.

the purpose of wall mounting boards and PSUs was to save space, having easy access for troubleshooting, push-pull config.

also notice there is a fan in the right side...on the left side a fan serves as an exhaust out of the window(not in the pic)...it is a push-pull config...

dangling from the ceiling is not easy to access, walls are sturdier, and you will have lighting issues.
