i have a zotac 1080 amp extreme and an asus 1080 a8g on a socket 775 board. no problems.
1722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me spend my bonus money on a nvidia card for zec on: April 09, 2017, 02:52:14 PM
Hey guys,
I got 5 rx 480s (and one 1070), 480's sweet spot is 1200 mhz base and 2250 mem clock (it doesn't go higher), they do around 300-300 sol/s per card.
Yet my 1070 does 460 sol/s, so I'm gonna make another rig with 1070's.

I'm looking for a maker which doesn't have warranty void shit if thermal paste is changed (msi has that for example),
so I ran into 1070 mini http://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N1070IXOC-8GD#kf
I can get it pretty cheap, my question is - does it perform as well as the "normal" 1070?
Does it overheat? I want to change the thermal paste cause some tests show -5 to -10 celsius and +100 on clock speed if good paste is used.

What do you guys think?

Back side image:
https://content.hwigroup.net/images/products_xl/355405/2/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1070-mini-itx-8gb.jpg

I've seen cards from msi and asus with warranty sticker on screws, so changing thermal paste voids warranty..I don't know about gigabyte..

I noticed Zotac don't have those..so I'm going for Zotac..waiting for 1080 ti amp extreme, my mining room is getting hotter so I'm investing in space (higher hashrate per card=1080ti) and bigger cooler (extreme edition)...basically I'm paying more for density and cooling..

TIP: to remove screw with a sticker, you have to use a vise grip (smaller nose to avoid hitting stuff when you turn it) on the screw but cover it a paper towel or a fine cloth.....I'm successful at MSI cards for 3 times already  Wink

We need to start calling these trolls "Crypto Justice Warriors." From what I can tell they feel it's NOT FAIR that Evan through his ingenuity and hard work created all these millionaires. Maybe if he did this while working at Goldman Sachs it would be ok?

I sincerely hope these CJWs are being paid to do this and are not just doing this out of the badness of their hearts.

All of the trolls are all members of the larger pump & dump crews.  This whole crypto ecosystem is a play ground for all these guys.  They pretend to care and doing this to warn "people" of the terrible things of this or that.  Its all bullshit.  Its very well planned strategies of fud and market manipulation that is being fueled by market movers.  Its all a smoke screen for a much bigger plan.

Its so transparent that its comical.  The only victims are those investors that are unsophisticated and are left holding bags of all sorts of coins these scum bags manipulated, all the while pretending that they CARE about fundamentals...the law and justice.  Its all BULLSHIT! Be careful investors.

Even in the markets like DASH today..

1500 BTC in numerous buy positions on for several hours to make people believe there is buy support...then boom, the buy positions disappear.   and the dumping starts.  Yawn!  So predictable its becoming boring.

Just yesterday, bigrcanada1, we were talking about: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=896480.0

I am here when bitcoin was depressed to ~200 $  range and there is no pump and dump happening, altcoins were depressed too, and bitcointalk was a wasteland...your story doesn't add up  Tongue

warning investors about your labeled "trolls" as pump and dump crews is very lame, totally unbelievable..find a better story teller dipshits.
1724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me spend my bonus money on a nvidia card for zec on: April 05, 2017, 04:47:34 PM
how about the temps on your zotac 1080 mini? is it on default clocks?
1725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me spend my bonus money on a nvidia card for zec on: April 05, 2017, 03:18:30 PM
running my 1080 zotac amp extreme

both my asus and zotac 1080 appears to be stable ~570+ sols  with OC

the zotac amp extreme is massive it is bigger than my sapphire and MSI R9 390's, it's so heavy that it tends to tilt and lift its other side from the pcie socket, i zip tied it...found another use for my nut and screws lol

I have enough of 1080's

1080 ti massive hashrate for a single card is irresistible

I think zotac offers another 1 year extension for manufacturer warranty or more if you register your GPU, you might want to look into it..more years the better, specially when buying an expensive card  Wink

Question: Why does Dash get so much hate? Answer: Because it's a scam. Makin' it REAL simple for you dashtards.

It's 3 people hating on DASH, maybe 4. And all 4 could really be the same account/person. So yeah...no one hating on DASH except those with short positions.

WTF.. from this wonderful story teller..

--snip--

Mr HR...there are many of us that have been hoarding and amassing gold, silver and currency. It is much more prevalent then you are letting on...This talk of lack of proof of legal ownership makes me think that maybe you are in the employ of the "system" are an advocate for governmental & banking forces.

Its absolute hog wash that you need instruments that can prove legal ownership of items that can be used as store of value or currency.  This discussion and position that you are taking is exactly what crypto is about...for us as individual to take ownership and privacy of your own personal affairs.

Its interesting that you are advocating for instruments that prove legal ownership....here's a news flash...I own because its in my possession, you want it...then you need to come take it from me over my dead body.

All these systems of protection of your assests is absolute rubbish and have been set up for nefarious reasons.  My grandparents moved to Canada from the old country with their money sewn to the inside of their coats.  They built very successful businesses and bought their land with cash...like I learned to do the same.  Ohhhh...its not easy...the system fights and raises all sorts of red flags.  But...its my choice and my legal right...and its becoming the choice of many others.  Crypto currencies will foster a whole new generation of individuals that will fight the powers that wish to control us, with scare tactics that You may loose your funds if you don't use the systems they are proposing.

Several years ago...my wife and I liquidated all of our "paper" based assests.  Stocks, bonds, gic's and all our RRSP's and moved everything into gold and silver.  Let me tell you...my bank was not happy...and tried to put every road block and every excuse...JUST LIKE YOU MR. HR are telling us of why we shouldn't do that...but we did it. And guess what...we soon found we weren't alone...our local gold and silver broker soon became a close friend and we discovered we are a part of a very quickly growing group of individuals.  Its not as uncommon as you are trying to let on....maybe you work for the banking system Mr. HR?  You know full well that cryptos main pillars is privacy and Independence of the banking systems tyranny.  That until recent modern times...these legal trinkets you speak of didn't exist.  People were smarter...valued money more because they were in the ultimate control...including its safe keeping.  You may wish for a more docile population that is learning to live in a plastic bubble of protection.

You should evaluate why it is your in this crypto ecosystem. I know why I'm here and why I pick DASH.  Privacy, control and independence of my own financial affairs.

to this..evasive sack of rat shit LOL!  Grin

EXACTLY!!! Do NOT remove me from that list!  I fell in love with DASH first!!! You sneaky bugger you.  I'm busted...do you have some hand cuffs for me  Kiss Now no kinky ideas there you dirty dog, lucky for you wont have to share a cell with me when all us DASHers get carried off for our evil DASH project. Well...I'll be writing my memoirs in the big house when all us Dash Members get jailed for the horrible things we do!  I'll give a free copy and you can read allllll about it then.  Wink

Why am I not in your thread??  Is it because I was late to the dash party by not getting involved until February 2015, a whole year after the launch?  Or because I didn't bother joining this crappy-arse troll forum until a whole 18 months later?

now i thought i am hunting rats with sticks

then came this vigilante with a flame thrower

get ready to get burned scammer bully rats

--snip--

This guy is the most disgusting troll ever. He is even threatening us in bitcointalk (with no ban, of course). Comparing us with "rats".
We the europeans know about this kind of comparisons and the people who use that language.

Please, do not quote. Ever.

Thank you.

threats? where?? that post was a my reaction when the "vertoe" account was threatening about exposing "sensitive private message"..well it didn't happen...so i will stick with hunting with sicks...rats.

speaking of private messages..I have one private message that came from a DASH proponent or whatever rat that is... it is about trying to manipulate Dashcoin [the true DASH] community to surrender the Dashcoin name to these scammer rats...I think my upcoming DASH name stealing thread will have to be split into two threads.

hey take a second look at..
DASH - Love at first sight user accounts [Looking Beyond the Hype] you can't see I'm accusing someone of scamming or being criminal in that thread.. it is simply a record..take any approach you want out of that list.

it is simply a record of bitcointalk accounts that are newbs at that time but they are already posting in DASH thread (specially their first non-newbie-ish post is already in DASH thread)

thanks for the heads up...your application for the rat cage is a bit sketchy, I will make a thorough review for your case....i think i have to create a late comers sub category...who knows, rats do breed and little critters get born.

Hi guys! What was the official reason for the emission cut on Dash?

To piss you off for missing out. That's the officially stated reason from the Dash Core Team. "To piss off volyova". It's in the whitepaper. Look it up.

Meanwhile no sane person gives a rats ass about the supply change because it was changed before Dash was even being traded anywhere and thus had zero effect on the price.

Why? Because there was no fucking price to begin with!

Trolling attempt failed. Again. Miserably. As usual.

And in other news:

But WHY was it changed? That's what I'm trying to find out. By the way, I didn't like the tone of your last post. Could we keep it civil, please? thx

these shills will only mislead you and other readers here...

they cut the emission (84 Million coins to 20 Million coins) because the masterscammingnodes from the instamine will become online and start minting coins, they function like huge mining farms competing against GPU miners...and today it still beats the x11 ASICs

Ahhhh there you go.  Trusty Arielbit brings us crashing to the regular mind grind.  aggghhh I was having such a nice afternoon.  Sad  Everyone knows your right Mr. Arielbit...we DASH members are scammers!  We are horrible HORRIBLE people...  and all of us are love at first sight....what a evil crime this must be.  Shame on us all.  Wink

EDIT:  Oppss forgot to add we are all criminals...and that there are plans in the works right now to place us all under arrest for numerous crimes.   Undecided

for me I will go for biggest and baddest card in the lowest pcie slot, because there is nothing below that card to hinder anything.
1734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Do you use hdmi dummy plug for your mining rig? on: April 03, 2017, 11:11:21 PM
i didn't use dummy plug since 2013..

i want to know what is the difference between my rigs and the rigs that require one.
If you are running RX480/RX470(new generation only). They don't boot with most boards

If system crashes it will boot, first start it wont.

i have a 3x rx480 rig...not using dummy plugs here

pro btc board can boot without dummy but you have to set the internal video card on as primary on the bios.  it sucks though bad.  I use dummys

so..it must be the boards.....using old socket 775 boards here
1735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me spend my bonus money on a nvidia card for zec on: April 03, 2017, 10:48:47 PM
planned in buying that zotac 1080 mini but backed out because I've seen a youtube video comparing it to galax HOF, temps of that zotac mini is ~20c more

will wait for your hashrate on your zotac mini 1080 card...will the temp get better with under volting, down clocking and still get good hashrates.

seems too low hashes for 1080 ti (640 sols?)...i think i may get the my 1080 here stable at ~590-600 sols

using EWBF here, not NiceHash Excavator
1738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me spend my bonus money on a nvidia card for zec on: April 03, 2017, 12:05:54 PM
got my ASUS ROG STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING

OC to 2000 core and 5000 ram...getting only ~560 sols, driver 375.95, EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner 0.3.3b

zotac 1080 AMP extreme is coming by tomorrow.

I was expecting ~600 sols..

still looking for best drivers and settings, tweaks..

maybe that zotac will be my last 1080...will try 1080ti ~700+ sols is far from ~560 sols

yeah the 1080 ti  seems to be a lot better

11/8 = 1.375   x 560 = 770

the max  I have seen for a 1080 ti was 746 on the youtube link.

looks like it is simply a case of more ram  11 gb for the the 1080ti  vs 8gb for the 1080

I am going to slowly add up to four cards  over the next 2 months or so.

playing with asus OC..i was able to see instances of ~590-600 sols but stability has not been tested yet...

zotac amp extreme has a higher factory clock and bigger cooler...might get stable at 600 sols minimum.

anyway it's nice trying nvidia and seeing huge hashes for a single card Cheesy.... excited to try 1080 ti..

we are at the same phase..will add slowly 1080 ti in 2 months..1080 ti's are quite expensive (that makes the upgrade a bit slow)
