You are very lucky (because of the energy) and your strategy is good!
Also consider that right now we are all getting almost double that the reward that we got for the last 6 months, ROI can be a little bit longer than expected if this bubble explodes

less efficient/older/cheaper...up to 3kw of free electricity, the target is cheapest gear to achieve maximum hashrate..after ROI, and going above 3kw, use the most efficient GPU/ PC components because the electricity is not free beyond 3kw, if it is profitable in the long run he can add more rigs and start to phase out the old and less efficient gear and upgrade to the most efficient one by one.

......

BTW i've never used an add2psu since 2013, i just always make sure that the second PSU only powers the extra GPU (it''s riser included)...

OT: You noticed any problem or instability un multi-PSU rigs? I would love to build a couple myself but with I do not wanna buy any extra component.

no instability issues for me (no 2nd PSU related issues)....one problem though, well you might forget that the second PSU is running when troubleshooting/tinkering, you need to turn off all power in a rig for safety purposes..there are instances for me that i forgot that the 2nd PSU still running and it didn't matter, everything is still fine.

just reiterating this......the second PSU only powers the added GPUs and its risers, no extra component just a jumper wire to turn the PSU on, no mandatory fans attached or any 12v or 5v devices (if you need to fan something you can tap to its 12v).

if ROI (profit is also made) is achieved and you are about to reach the maximum electrical limit (with allowance) try adding the top of the line GPUs who have a very high hashrate and very efficient..one by one in the process upgrading your gear.

mining area (space) and efficiency --> put this into the equation

my mining area is already getting filled and my electrical Amperage is about to reach my target, that's why I'm looking at 1080 ti (waiting for aftermarket coolers by different brands). also waiting for vega release..

I was starting to think the same thing since the goal of the thread is maximum ROI. The question is what is OP's current budget to start off at on this setup. It may either be better to start off with the older GPU's and than to start of with less efficiency GPU's

Harddrives
I made the mistake of going for cheap ebay 80GB HDDs for £5 each.  That was the biggest mistake i made in this whole project. I invested hours into install windows and drivers onto hard drives that then died outright, or were PAINFULLY slow at the desktop. Either buy £25 60GB SSDs, or NEW 80GB mechanical. Don't go cheap here,  it will drive you nuts later.

i still got my 80gb (sata) HDDs i'm using since 2013, they are still fine..make sure you got good sata cables (i also have reserve stocks of these).

guess what...the windows 7 64bit i'm still using was installed in 2013, they are rock solid..

all i did was clone each HDDs..if a file system/bad sector problem occurs i do testing and repairs (results determine if it will be thrashed of re utilized), if it is okay(repaired) ... a clone will overwrite it and became a reserve HDD along with others.

cloning takes ~15-30 mins with all the settings/tweaks/drivers/miner software are all there.

looked at the pics...i don't like those HDDs, I think those are not good, have experience with those HDDs in the past, i'm using seagate slim type...the western digital (colored black) was good too.

my motherboards are $18, socket 775  4 slots..rock solid  Cheesy

anybody here knows how much hashrate a gtx titan x (maxwell) can pull?

Look on tab/page 100

thanks..I PM the guy, asked if that pascal was a maxwell or pascal...i'm planning to buy one

Unless its used and a hell'a price why?  You can get two 1080's for the price of a titan and get 1050 to 1200 sol

for that matter you can buy 3 1070's for the same price as a titan and get 1200 to 1350 sol's

or buy the amd radeon pro duo get 950ish sol'( last I saw/read), for $800.00, its water cooled so less heat...

I digress because I know you get the idea.

it is a second hand titan (maxwell not pascal) at $340, if it can do 500-600 sol, i may consider it.

....
Shrem should also disclose how many percent of his bitcoins is invested in altcoins for us to know how much he's into DASH.

why does he should ?  does he borrow something from you ?

he should. for the crypto newbs and sheeple that will simply buy DASH for a news/hype like this...what if shrem only invested 1btc how will that affect the hype? what if he invested 10000 btc?... ver said he is only 5% (of his BTCs) into altcoins that include dash and others...it says a lot, that he is not heavily into dash.

Hi Walter...thanks so much for sharing this great link...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzqGf_ak_2I

Really like this guy!  Great explanation for all the items that our troll idiots seem to think is wrong with DASH....so much ponzi, centralized, instamine

This should be required viewing for any and all aspiring troll that plans to come on here claiming to know DASH.

TROLLS...watch this and understand.

PS.  He also brings a good point...that these trolls may be in danger of Liable.  It would be interesting if there is a legal case for this once we begin to discover the real identities of these trolls.  I would be tempted to look into this.

Great video!  Yes, I agree the trolls have left themselves wide open to a fat libel suit from the Dash DAO as well as private lawsuits from all those who missed out on investing in Dash because of the trolls' lies and phoney investment advice. That would be so much fun  Cheesy

LOL, so there you go again shills.....with your threats  Kiss

i think your youtube DASH bagholders should add this to the list...."DASH is a stolen name"

anyway folks...can anybody share here how many percent of Shrem's bitcoin is invested in DASH/altcoins?

Roger Ver says here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIA8w5tfr70 that his bitcoin investment into altcoins (including DASH) is only 5% of his bitcoin holdings.

Good luck rudolfaxl, but you will probably have a hard time finding someone who will pay 25 BTC for a domain that is non Dash related.
Maybe try your luck in the Marketplace sections, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=5.0

yeah...rudolfaxl, these folks can't even pay (or even attempt to pay) Dashcoin holders for the name of their coin....so they stole it by going around their back and dealing only with Dashcoin dev.

thieves will steal even if their coinmarketcap reach billions...it's their nature, it is what they are.

conclusion: don't expect any LOL

For all of the "why is dash @ 100 $" questions:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/606fz4/my_final_margin_call/

Thats one of the dash shorters who lost 150 btc and bring us to higher prices, and im quite sure there are many more of these kind .

"All because of one position, I lost it all. Yes, I know it was stupid. Yes, I know you shouldn't short, especially in a bull market. Yes, I know that I should have cut my losses fast. From the first worrying -2 BTC to the slightly terrifying -20 BTC, watching my losses grow and grow. Everyone told me to close the position: but I told them, are you retarded? Do you want me to close out with a $2,000 loss when it's so clear DASH is going to crash? Do you want me to close with a $10,000 loss when this is clearly a bubble? Do you want me to close with a $50,000 loss when I can easily make $20,000 if I just wait this out?"

^^ Thats what i mean if i say this bull run is driven by shorters (ofc thats not the only cause, but its a big multiplier), who can't believe dash has potential, because there is so much hate against dash and so much fud, they can't believe it went to 20 $ to 30 $ ... to 100 $ ... these are the ones who are squeezed hard on that run and did a good job in making dash price x10 !

I'm realy sorry for them, and i blame iceshitter and his troll crew for destroying thousands of lifes with theire fud against dash !!!

Yep. The only people that have been "scammed" are those that listened to the haters, trolls, and DASH FUDers over the years and due to being duped lost significant money during this run up. Shame on all the trolls! I really feel for this guy.

This is heartbreaking. The overconfidence of Dash haters is really unmatched.

This is similar in the stockmarket. I watched that for 30 years. The shorts always provide the fuel to drive the final phase of a crazy rally. The majority of them close out by buying at the top , because they cannot maintain the margin. Only a few reap the benefits of the decline, which is all the greater because of the excessive prices reached. A peak driven by shorts can lead to a 90% fall.

You just don't get it, right?
This is similar to nothing else. DASH is on its own way. Nothing else. Except the part where Bitcoin weaknesses did it to all top alts.

Many people don't get it because they try to judge by their past altcoin experiences or purely on technical analysis, but Dash's economics, fundamentals and game theory incentives make it a very different animal. So as far as Dash goes, expect the unexpected.

technical analysis and money is different..

Does Shrem not know of the scam launch, or does he not care?

i think he does not care, Voger Ver says 5% of his bitcoins are spread among various altcoins..

Shrem should also disclose how many percent of his bitcoins is invested in altcoins for us to know how much he's into DASH.
1774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What do you guys do to keep mining rigs clean? on: March 19, 2017, 12:07:03 AM
i use this...

i clean even if the rigs are running, GPUs, PSUs, CPU fans, Boards....just make sure they won't get blown away (putt right of their sockets), i just hold them with my other hand and blows the dust out of them.

They will never admit this, but deep deep down they love Dash

That made me think....

Day in and day out sit and troll something. It must be the most negative existence. I can't imagine any job on earth that can be more depressing. You can never tell your friends or family what you do - they will think you are mad. ...Lonely ....sad....mad?

Unless of course they are a brilliant DASH marketing initiative. New user stumbles on to this thread - sees their posts and wonders what is this all about. Starts reading - looks at DASH - gets the whole story - looks at the graphs and thinks: "Oh - this actually looks quite good" and buys!

No such thing as bad publicity? That might help to explain the constant DASH price increases. DASH thinking out of the box again. Very devious guys!  Grin

what if....it isn't a job?...makes sense now?

i do love crypto currencies and in this forum is where it all began..i do recommend dash.org for some serious circle jerking among DASH shills  Wink

I cant understand why arielbit and icebreaker are still in this thread?  they're more active in this thread than the DASH community members?

Tall Poppy Syndrome is what it is.

They will never admit this, but deep deep down they love Dash

which is why exactly they are monitoring dash market 24/7. ask them anything about dash and they know dash better than me. mind you i have supported dash for a year and i can't believe i recently knew about its history, i only knew it because of icebearker.

i think i just need to reiterate this...the earth is big my friends..

@Darwin84

500$ a month for parking? from where i live there is no parking fee around here, there is insurance that cost 6 to 11 $ a month, a computer is already a toy, i don't get why people want to play with gadgets, i have a 24 inch monitor and a lot of GPUs to use for gaming. a used motherboard for my mining rigs costs 28$ max, for bike injury you just need an alcohol and terramycin.

That's downtown Toronto. $300-$600 a month, depends on security and covered or not and that's just work, you need another $100 or so to park at home.

Great so you have a life of GPUs and gaming in a deadbeat farming town and you fix yourself with alcohol.

That's a waste of life to most people.

I'm not judging but don't pass this off as advice. You'll be on the streets of a big city soon enough when you're first major life upset happens that you can't fix with $500.

Good luck

i'm in a city, in a province..if you read up thread i said i can do 300-350$ "happily" ... the minimum wage here is ~175$ LOL ..i'm fine with 500$  Grin

my location is a comfortable one, i'm even planning to buy a piece of property around here with my savings, 3 malls are in a biking/walking distance, a 4th one is being made, two hospitals are walking distance and a 5 minute commute to the city square.

a metropolis provides higher wages because of higher standard of living..here is a sweet blend of provincial and city living

$200 - $300 i can spend (vacation) ~4 days in this paradise and eat a lot of delicious seafoods

EDIT: in a nearby island they filmed Survivor series...damn those people prevented me from going to an island nearby (there is a mandate not to go there due to filming at that time) bummer!

Anyone knows how many sols can one expect from a sapphire r9 fury nitro?

It should give you 300-350 sol

SAPPHIRE R9 FURY NITRO, 470 SOLS/S--

The Fury card has a huge bandwidth.  I get 470 Sols/s on Equihash algo, my R9 280X cards get 315 Sols/s.  Both these cards hash 5-10 Sols/s faster on version 12.3 than they mined on earlier versions of 12.x.  Version 12.3 is more stable, also.  I mine on Linux.  I don't have any R9 290 or 390 cards, but they may mine in the mid-300 Sols/s.

--scryptr

r9 390s are doing ~400 Sols/s

Was there something there in your list that deals directly with anonymity and people's fundamental desire to have their store of value (i.e. money) directly and legally identifiable and tied to them

Yes. This one:

How you get from anonymous bearer-tokens to named-account base money and how they compliment each other
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1709631.msg17158283#msg17158283

The thing is, I’m not referring to the philosophical debate about the intrinsic value of money, rather I’m talking about what is mine, regardless of medium.

My house is mine. I’ve got a title of public record that demonstrates such ownership. Nobody can take it away from me without my consent (excepting the government under whose jurisdiction I live, and only in extremely exceptional cases). Nobody can rob my home without everyone knowing about it and it ultimately being restituted. The same goes for anything I own – stocks, bonds, a car, a boat, etc., etc.

Whether or not the faith and trust in the intrinsic value of the legal tender under question is well-founded is another matter completely.

I basically agree with your trust versus trustless dichotomy, and I definitely prefer the latter. That having been said, I prefer the latter with public record status, which is to say that I would prefer every cryptocurrency coin I buy to be legally linked to my person in a public manner, i.e. coin X purchased in Y Txid on coin X’s blockchain is marked as being mine with my name and national identity number. Any coin I spend would also be duly marked as having been transferred to the buyer. In that kind of a cryptocurrency world, I would always be able to ultimately gain restitution for theft or even a mistaken send.

The "bearer token" archetype is incompatible with that, and is precisely the reason why I postulate that mass adoption, other than to have some “spending money" in crypto, won’t happen until buyer and seller information are “time stamped” into each and every transaction. I also suspect that governments will ultimately force this on the cryptocurrency world in order to protect the unwitting, or at least force the noncompliant to post a warning that their money is not protected and that they could lose it at any time, even with the most innocent of mistakes like not having a backup when their disk drive crashes.

What’s more, if I can’t legally demonstrate having paid for something (like something I buy using BTC), how can I legally demonstrate that what I’ve bought is legally mine? I could easily be accused of not having paid and be sued for the amount due – I received it and signed for it as would be shown by legally admissible evidence like shipping records, but I have no proof what-so-ever of ever having paid. Oops.

This is what I am putting up for debate. Is the road towards anonymity a dead end? How many people have bearer token cash, or even gold or silver, hoarded at home? Yes there are a few, but that group takes us down to a very niche market, and not mass adoption.

Mr HR...there are many of us that have been hoarding and amassing gold, silver and currency. It is much more prevalent then you are letting on...This talk of lack of proof of legal ownership makes me think that maybe you are in the employ of the "system" are an advocate for governmental & banking forces.

Its absolute hog wash that you need instruments that can prove legal ownership of items that can be used as store of value or currency.  This discussion and position that you are taking is exactly what crypto is about...for us as individual to take ownership and privacy of your own personal affairs.

Its interesting that you are advocating for instruments that prove legal ownership....here's a news flash...I own because its in my possession, you want it...then you need to come take it from me over my dead body.

All these systems of protection of your assests is absolute rubbish and have been set up for nefarious reasons.  My grandparents moved to Canada from the old country with their money sewn to the inside of their coats.  They built very successful businesses and bought their land with cash...like I learned to do the same.  Ohhhh...its not easy...the system fights and raises all sorts of red flags.  But...its my choice and my legal right...and its becoming the choice of many others.  Crypto currencies will foster a whole new generation of individuals that will fight the powers that wish to control us, with scare tactics that You may loose your funds if you don't use the systems they are proposing.

Several years ago...my wife and I liquidated all of our "paper" based assests.  Stocks, bonds, gic's and all our RRSP's and moved everything into gold and silver.  Let me tell you...my bank was not happy...and tried to put every road block and every excuse...JUST LIKE YOU MR. HR are telling us of why we shouldn't do that...but we did it. And guess what...we soon found we weren't alone...our local gold and silver broker soon became a close friend and we discovered we are a part of a very quickly growing group of individuals.  Its not as uncommon as you are trying to let on....maybe you work for the banking system Mr. HR?  You know full well that cryptos main pillars is privacy and Independence of the banking systems tyranny.  That until recent modern times...these legal trinkets you speak of didn't exist.  People were smarter...valued money more because they were in the ultimate control...including its safe keeping.  You may wish for a more docile population that is learning to live in a plastic bubble of protection.

You should evaluate why it is your in this crypto ecosystem. I know why I'm here and why I pick DASH.  Privacy, control and independence of my own financial affairs.

that is a very nice story, I like it except the DASH part..

personally I like it if you will replace evan duffield as DASH leader since he is not coding anymore, DASH is just employing programmers now.. a wine man can do what Evan is doing (as a leader)...the only problem is Evan and his friends instamined a lot of masternodes (voting for Evan)... so that's not gonna happen  LOL
