We already have a forked BCN and that's called XMR. Anyone not happy with this coin's development can easily switch to XMR. I personally prefer to let the devs do their job, whether they communicate regularly or not.

Yup XMR is the no.1 fork and DSH is the first and only BCN's 100% clone.

I agreed so, bytecoin dev friend's message to poloniex is useless for helping. Poloniex will only entertain real bytecoin dev. If dev had no will to continue it, then it is good to take over bytecoin from dev.

I was the one who was trying my best to catch poloniex attention by sending tweets and emails as bytecoin dev's friend. So who the real dev?

No one knows who is the real BCN dev.

I've tried to get to the Poloniex dev via Linkedin but I guess they have build a big Chinese wall between their users and team.

But I want to remind everyone about Poloniex bounty. For one who unblocks BCN on Poloniex or makes a huge step to it will be big reward!

Antonio Juarez  aka amjuarez is the primary dev, but I don't think he is on this forum - https://github.com/amjuarez/bytecoin

Here is the last code update he did back in June - https://github.com/amjuarez/bytecoin/commit/1d48dc274048787b7a95814e216c61a1a7307ef1

I don't quite understand, since we have the source code of the wallet at https://github.com/amjuarez/bytecoin, and yet the real dev did modification on coding last month. So, what is the problem now? Just ask Antonio Juarez to fix the bug, or if real dev had no intention to continue development, someone can take over the bytecoin, modify source code from git and fork with bug fix. Or if real dev do not want to continue the development and yet do not want to hand over bytecoin to anyone in the earth. Someone can hard fork the source code to a new BCN version 2, then do a coin swap from old BCN. The only issue is how to list BCN v2 to Poloniex (I believe listing in other exchangers had lower difficulty)...

If anyone here do not want BCN to be delisted from Poloniex, should gather and work it out together... Just my two BCN (approximate 0.1363 cents at current price)

We already have BCN mirror image with 10,000:1 ratio in coins numbering.. dashcoin DSH...if you are going to fork bytecoin from the original devs, fork off their premine too.

Anyway I will not be surprised if poloniex delist BCN, poloniex first big break as an exchange is pioneering majority of XMR trades from the very beginning and I believe they own some and they are biased..with BCN delisted, XMR will absorb all BCN investments and forever rule the cryptonight algo in the whole crypto sphere/scene.
1645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DSH] Dashcoin (Cryptonote) UPDATE: New source/wallets+GUI - 1.0.10 on: July 06, 2017, 02:48:25 AM
We have good trade volume at Cryptopia. We survived Poloniex and I am certain we will survive HitBTC, if they want to delist. I hope that will not be the case and they will find time to fix the issue, which should be relatively easy.

The real issue is Minergate. They know their chain is worthless but they continue to mine on it. I do not really understand what is going on there and how they plan to give their users their DSH. Just to be clear - we offered them to cover their damage in terms of DSH shortly after the split. Now it's too late for this

what do you mean by this? why is it too late? many coins are already mined that the people "we" who offered DSH cannot cover the amount of coins since it took too long?

how many DSH you people offered? how many minergate wanted(if they wanted it..i don't know)?

They said their damage is 10000 DSH, we offered them 20000. The reply after was they have too much tech difficulties to roll back. That was 1 or 2 days after the split. Their next offer was to join their chain, but at the time there was already 17000000 DSH double spent on their chain.

Now their damage purely because of mining is between 150000 and 200000 DSH, and they cannot simply roll back because it will damage too much reputation

the way i see it, is that they are not going to roll back....it is not just the damage (150k - 200k DSH), it is also about reputation...

the chain that will win is the chain the exchanges will support (that's where the money is)...any info on this? are the exchanges on the right chain?

Cryptopia is on Democats' chain (with no double spending), Hitbtc will probably be on Minergate's chain

changelly delisted DSH.. how about chainradar? are they on the right chain?

will update the OP after things get a bit more clear for me..

I just want this to be clear...minergate is keeping their blockchain because there are already "many" mined coins in their fork?(since the security patch issue)....like they don't like people to lose "that" many coins?

being accountable for that amount of coins is so problematic that they decided to keep their fork...

so how many dashcoins are on the wrong chain (assuming there were no creation of coins that happened from the security issue) are we talking about? any estimates? anybody?
On 24 May 2017 there were 17,600,000 DSH double spent on Minergate's chain. Actual DSH, not atomic units. I have not loaded their chain after this initial calculation, I guess there are a lot more now

what I mean is... i'm trying to figure out how many coins were mined since they became a "fork"....can we replace those coins so they can give that to the miners who mined in good faith and will not receive coins (from the right chain) because their chain is wrong.

I'm not trying to figure out how many double spent that happened.

1652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 30, 2017, 12:40:30 AM
Got my first riser in the mail today from Ali express.  I did some research to  make sure I got good ones and the ones I got were exactly as per the pictures (high quality soldering etc)  I just went with the free shipping and bought one each from about 6 different places, and one magically showed up  in just 6 days!

I was so excited in instantly shut down my three rigs and swapped out all the power supplies as I got a new 1000W PSU and set everything back up.

I then installed the riser into my old single card PC and with an old 1GB 6590 AMD card just to test it.  I did plan to leave it going overnight as testing but that card cant mine anyways so I through caution to the wind and just slapped in my EVGA 1080 ti SC black and set it to mining.

I have it outside the case just on a bench.

Works perfectly.  This is a 7+ year old motherboard (the cpu is right before core duos) with one big PCI-e slot and 3 mini ones.  So this super old hardware is fine.  Though I think I may run into issues with the CPU if I add more cards or not?  But I have 3 other better CPU old motherboards sitting around anyways.   So I am pretty happy my old useless gear now has a use and I dont have to buy motherboards.

Now the cool thing about the riser is how bloody cold it runs.  SO cold.   I have the exact same card in my main gaming PC (which is openwith all the sides off) along side my Auros but they are very far apart.

At 65 TPD for the one in the case, I run the fan at 55% and it sits around 55C.   The one on the riser sits at 50C and the fan is only at 35%.  I mean I could set it to 25% and it would be fine that was amazing (it is winter here btw).

So I now cant wait for the rest of my risers to arrive.

my old gear is still alive and kicking. bought as surplus in late 2013,  4x pcie slots too...

rgarding the cpu, it might affect hashrate, depends on mining software, when eth miner still uses hdd for DAG, my core2duo and pentium 4 are hashing lower than my core2quads..until i upgrade them to core2quads....so if you have time and a little bit of extra money you can hunt/scavenge for an upgrade of the cpu..

if i'm not mistaken most of the old gear with 4x pcie, specially the ones with crossfire tech are the top of the line back then and they are heavy duty...

Anyone else experience this problem;

I have 3 Asus FE 1080ti on one board with some case fans to move the air around. Fan speed at 70%, cards at 80% power. Temps were 60-70 for The last 24hrs.. before adding the 3rd I had the first and third pci-e slots used and the cards were stable.

I wake up this morning (24hrs after installing the 3rd card) and the first one is running at 84 degrees.. I check the fans there all working, the fan on the gpu is working..

I turn off the rig (twice now) and the gpu wont come back online. I didn't have time to further investigate as I needed to go to work..

Thoughts ?

I had that problem before using seasonic 1250xm (the old version) ... newer version is 1250XM2 ... it is a power supply issue.

my temporary fix before I acquired a new replacement is, turn on and off the switch of the psu (motherboard bios settings is "resume after power loss"), so you won't go to the trouble of pressing on after switching the psu on......chances are you get lucy and it powers on.

unless there are other issues..

I wouldn't of figured it was a psu issue.. I have the remaining two cards still running..
Since I've been remoting in I can only do a restart and not fully turn it off. Guess I will be troubleshooting tonight.

All the parts are within 30 days if I need to do some returns..

I re read your post...so 2 gpu are running and 1 is not...it is a riser issue, or a pcie socket on the motherboard.

check the power that goes to the riser and check the usb cable, check the riser too....it is good to have spares so you can swap parts (troubleshooting)

The three EVGA 1080ti's I orderd on the 9th of June are finally in my hands after being stuck in customs for ten days. Needless to say the mining landscape has changed a bit, I would have loved to set these cards to work back on the 9th when profits were double what they are now.

Anyway, I've always held a long-term strategy and will put them to work in an energy-efficient manner.

Just a question for the big boys, here is my current equip;

850W corsair gold powering a 6600k + 5 * SATA SSD + GTX1070 + CDROM + Lights n Fans (the gaming PC)
CPU/RAM/MOBO/HDD/CASE of an old, unused PC
5 * PCIE risers NEW
1000W corsair gold NEW
3 * 1080ti NEW
1* SLI motherboard for the 6600K NEW

It's a mixed array and I'm definitely using the SLI motherboard with 2 * 1080ti's for gaming. It has space for a third card and here is my problem;

Do I put the 1000W with the 6600K (and all of the misc things)? Or do I leave the 850W in it and just run 2 GPU?

A) 1000W - 6600K - 6SATA devices - 2*1080ti - 1070 /// 850W - 2500K - 1SATA device - 1080ti - add-on GPU's up to 850W limit
B) 850W - 6600K - 6SATA devices - 2*1080ti /// 1000W - 2500K - 1SATA device - 1080ti - 1070 - add-on GPU's up to 1000W limit

if I have 3x 1080 ti and 1x 1070

850w is system + 1080 ti + 1070 and 1000w is 2x 1080 ti

1080 ti can draw up to 300w so x3 is not an option....although you can undervolt/underclock, or other algo with lower power consumption etc...my practice is a power supply capacity is budgeted to a cards max power draw.....typically power supplies are more efficient at about 50% load.. and when you decide to mine other coins with more power draw, there will be no human error (forgetting that the psu is not enough or at the edge/ maxed out).

me too bought 1pc gigabyte aorus extreme 1080 ti (last piece) since zotac was out of stock...good thing I spin the fan with my hand before running this gpu..I noticed that the other fan is hitting the metal bracket, luckily the bracket was metal so I bend it, problem solved.

i think zotac amp extreme 1080 ti has a better cooler than gigabyte 1080 ti aorus extreme.

zotac can do below 80c while gigabyte can reach up to 85c.

regarding the hynix 900w psu I bought (posted up thread) I discovered the other the two 12v rails have different voltages like 12.25 and the other rail is 12.45 so I made changes to the wiring so those 12v rails dont mix up on a single psu. different gpu will use separate 12v...the psu have two separate pcb inside..when you power on the psu one 12v rail is already alive and the other 12v is still off (until you power on the board).

Good mod.  I hope it works.

As for a card I may buy  it is a lower powered 1050ti.

Curious about a low power build I already use.

It has this card in it

I run  some compac sticks   a cpu coin and the rx 460 is on zec for now

if I switch to a 1050 ti  my sols  may double for zec

I need to cut the case to get a 1050 ti to fit as the case is 1 slot (moron silverstone I think)  zotac has this

https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-mini

my sols  would jump  from 90 to 160

zotac is an excellent choice since they don't put warranty stickers to their cards (screws)...since I've started mining with NVIDIA I'm always keeping an eye on zotac.

for me, I'm done with low end cards space is an issue here, if all my cards are 1080 ti I could almost double my ha$he$

I buy one more card

You guys have a sickness.  Tongue

God help us.

You are missing the point.

Butters is a kid.

Go to a High school and ask them in the halls if they would launch a coin for millions of dollars in real money..

Then watch how they act.
Kids are stupid, selfish, greedy and will steal.

His age is not a defense.
It's just one more reason why little kids shouldn't be launching worldwide internet currencies.
.. Or related gimmick schemes for profit.

At the end of the day he is a kid who printed himself free money..
With a rigged scammed ICO scheme.

The reality is the scheme itself is gay on every level imaginable.
He had no right rigging it, launching it and then manipulating it...
While playing Federal Reserve.

You are against Ripple, against ethereum, I only see negative posts by you on the forum...
What's your issue? If people buyin to his ICO, then they do...

I have a 550W PSU and I want to power 1 or 2 more cards with it on a rig that already has a PSU powering a card.

The PSU has three +12V all at 18A each for a total of 470W.  So each one can really only draw 156W correct?  As 1080ti's take 2 connectors and I made sure they were on different wires do individual cables ever need to draw more than 150W?  How is it devided between the 8 pin and the 6 pin connector?  At 100% tpd they card draws 250W.  If it draws more from the 8 pin It could be risky?  Also PSU's don't aways output max what they say.  I plan to run it at 60-80 TPD so it is likely to work but is it just too risky?  Is going to take a like three weeks before I can get hold of any plat PSU's  I suppose I could settle for a Gold.

yeah it could work but  you need to know exactly how the cable matches the rails.

1 rail may not work on the pcie cables  it may go to the mobo in the cpu cable and the 24 pin cable.

so you may have 2 rails one for one cable one for the other.

I need the exact make and model  I may be able to tell you how to hook it up.

plan to run at 60 not 80

you are using a riser correct?

Thanks man appreciate all the advice I will get around to figuring out how give you a donation sometime in the next few days.    They are old PSUs ac bel pc7014,  I googled it but nothing came up so prolly easier just to let it go.

I plan to use risers when they come.  Right now I am just recycling old motherboards from past gaming machines I never bothered to sell, surpisingly all my old MB's have 3 or 4 PCI-e x1 slots.

Ok backup plan.  If I get two open air rigs right next to each other and the I use this old PSU just to power the motherboard etc and I have a 1050W PSU powering another rig and two 1080ti's.  Could I use power from that PSU to power the cards?  Just means I would would have to power up and down both rigs at the same time but its just a stop gap measure until my parts arrive on snail mail.   I already have the two new 1080ti's just cant find a PSU.

Or I actually have 2 560W psu's I could run both motherboards off them and use the 1050W PSU just for the video cards.  I dunno if this is possible though.

if you have an old gpu like like 280x and 7970 try it first on them..that psu on a 1080 ti...that's brave.

yeah PSUs got scarce just like GPUs

just want to share what i got here scavenging  Cheesy

i got two cheap psu (surplus) manufactured by hynix for unknown brands....bought these at 20$ and 24$ each

psu1 has 12 volt1 18A, 12 volt2  18A, 12 volt3 30A

psu2 has 12 volt1 40A,  12 volt2 25A

these psu are 3 inches longer and heavier than seasonic 1250w psus and i cant find them in the internet...gonna power some old gpu that I have first (that ROI'd several times) Grin

I don't know where these have been used, It seems heavy duty and psu2 have a label where it says "heater" for a 12v modular cable socket.

I think these have been used in some commercial/server application, they can power (compatible) a typical atx desktop board with sata and molex cables...the problem is there are no pcie connection, the modular cables are compatible only to 12v 4pin and 2+2pin motherboard, so i'm going to use some extra pcie cables here to tap/solder on the 12v rails of these psu.

cables are 18 awg compared to seasonic 16awg, but 18 awg is good enough since technically they are rated at 750-800w
